Melia Las Dunas: OK Resort

Check In went well however had lots of issues with our Toronto departure on Air Transat. We received rooms as requested in a good location close to pool and lobby. Pool, pool bar staff and pool recreation staff were all great. Room had air conditioning issues that were not addressed and fridge was poorly restocked. Food is food in Cuba but their current trade problems are creating some shortages ie no pizza or french fries at any of the snack bars. Buffet was typical, some staff were very good a [... read more]nd some were lazy, general cleanliness could have been better. There was always a shortage of clean glasses and spoons for some reason. Beach buffet with grilled meats was always good and best place to have lunch. A la Cartes were better but not great. Entertainment was the same every night with same dance group, just different costumes. Mojitos at the lobby bar were the best. Sand and water in Cuba are fantastic. Not sure if it was just the weather while we were there but the water was very rough and difficult to swim in especially for children. All in all it was good vacation, beach and long bus ride from airport make this a one off as I wouldn't return here. I've been to Cayo Coco and Varadero and I will certainly return to Varadero the next time in Cuba.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort!

The hotel is very nice but it is showing some wear and tear. For example, on several occasions I got chipped plates or cups at the a la carte restaurants. In the lobby where nightly activity is held, the sofa is ripped in certain areas and needs to be replaced. The grounds are gorgeous. The gardeners do a fantastic job with all the greenery. The pools are also beautiful but it would be nice if you could change the sheets when you get the bed by the pool. They are changed in the morning but not  [... read more]during the day when it becomes available to a another guest. The service at the Eggcellence restaurant was slow on several occasions as well. We loved the grill at lunchtime. Most of the staff are helpful and the butlers are definitely your go to people who make any problems disappear very quickly.We had Javier and Alexis both very helpful and professional. Overall , I would go back to the Royalton and recommend to friends.

Melia Las Dunas: Great Vacation

Very nice resort This was our first trip for my wife and myself to Cuba The weather was wonderful the hotel and the people were very friendly and considerate. The food was good and they tried to offer a nice selection. The room was kept very clean and the mini bar was always stocked. The maids did a very good job. The ride to and from the Resort was a little long but it gave us a chance to see the countryside. We will be returning to Cuba !!

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Good option

For the price I'll say it was an awesome experience. Got a nice room on the top floor with ocean view. AC worked properly during my stay. The housekeeper was amazing. The beach is great too, don't know if it was low season but it was never crowded and I could always find chair on the shade. The big issue I'll say is when they ran out of plastic cups. I booked two of the A la carte restaurants (sea food and Italian) and I gotta say it was very disappointing. The buffet wasn't awesome, and I preferred the dinner time. More options of salads and meat. About the drinks I'll say there's a big difference between the ones you get at the bar close to the lobby and the ones at the pool bar or at the beach. 100% preferred the lobby one! Delicious drinks and very nice bartenders. Overall I had a good experience, Cuba is a wonderful place and to be first time there I enjoyed it a lot!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Beautiful Beach

I would like to start by saying THANK YOU to all the Sanctuary staff that were connected to us May 9th-16th, 2019 in building 60 and 59, with "The Twins", while we were at your resort, you know who you are. I apologize that I don't have all names, you were all very attentive, friendly, pleasant, helpful from the day we arrived to the day we left! Rudy, Anay, Daimys & wife, Lipi Lipi, just to name a few, this thank you is to All Butlers (including Head Butler), Chambermaids, Water/Fridge Staff, [... read more] Room Service, Servers, Lobby, Pool Staff, Cart Drivers, Grounds Staff (both hotels) at Sanctuary and our Server a couple of times at The Grand I believe his name was Orbu.....all of you friendly very helpful staff. If you are asking my honest opinion.....the day we arrived, our room was in Building 59 at the back near road, didn't really like the room back there and there was a gap in sliding door when you close it, so we asked for another room, our Butler was most helpful in changing our room promptly, on same floor but facing ocean, thank you so much! When we arrived while we were waiting for room, we noticed some wear and tear with patio furniture, pathways (later on), etc, I'm sure areas will be looked after by Management and repaired at both Sanctuary and The Grand! Food was good/fine, views from buffet, terrace and pool awesome, grounds lovely. Entertainment in Lobby during dinner and after dinner was awesome. We were not able to be there all the time but we could hear it from our room. Finally, our Sunwing Rep for this week was average! Again, Thank You.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Amazing beaches!

We are repeat guests at Ensenachos. This hotel is located on its’ own Cayo and does not share its’ beaches with any other hotel. It has two beaches, both at least a kilometre long. We continue to return here because of this and the wonderful staff. A great place to just relax and unwind for a week.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful beach & grounds

Excellent: Beach and pools were clean. Lots of palapas available (3 rows). (Hotel 50% occupied). Great: Entertainment - Cuban musicians and dancers. Most staff were friendly. Rooms - Rooms were big as were the beds and good air conditioning. Food - Highly recommend Tex Mex restaurant where a bit of spice was experienced. Great fresh fruit as well. Fair: Rooms - need some TLC/paint would go a long way. Electrical outlets didn't always work (one came out of the wall) and our  [... read more]phone didn't work, even after requesting a fix, it remained out of order. Broken drawers/or closet door but easily worked around that. Food - very little in way of condiments so if you want mustard/ketchup/hot sauce highly recommend bringing your own. Often did not have menu items but did substitute with others where available. (e.g. beef burger substituted with chicken burger). Overall it was great value for what we paid (trip was May 6/19). Not my first time to Cuba but my first time to this area. The beach rivals Varadero. I was somewhat surprised at the limited amount of English understood by many staff but we were certainly able to get by without issue. There was always a lovely breeze at the beach which kept the bugs at bay. Last day was still and mosquitoes were out in droves - make sure to bring repellant!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Sanctuary resort

I was not happy with this resort, I thought it was like same has the one in Varadero. I was disappointed they didn't have any tonic water for gin and tonic and no champagne. that is the only thing that me and my husband drinks. the services was good room was OK. the beach was amazing best beach I've been to.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Very Nice Resort!

Older resort, but well maintained. Our room was close to the pool, so we were central to everything...maybe a 2 minute walk to the beach, restaurants, or lobby. Will definitely go back to this resort. Rooms: Very clean, and didn't see a single bug in 14 days! Food: The beach grill was really good...the pool bar was also really good, but lots of birds around/on tables. The buffet was adequate, but nothing to complain about. Pool: very nice and great service Beach: Amazing!! Lot [... read more]s of lounge chairs...didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn to get one. The gentlemen looking after the chairs were pleasant and helpful. Also, there were fresh towels everyday...never ran out. Spa: Great service...really enjoyed the massage. Entertainment: can't comment...only attended one show. Excursions: can't comment...didn't do any excursions Money: We exchanged our money at the hotel. Next time i will take more cash with me, as there was and additional fee to use credit card at the resort, i.e. spa. Also, on another trip, we had to visit the doctor and it was cash only. Luckily, my friends are always more prepared than me:)

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Awesome Resort!

Everything in the Hotel is excellent and superb. No brown outs,water shortages etc. Everything is just managed very well and supervised.As compared to one hotel there in that area,people were complaining because of brown outs and water shortages and the cleanliness but Ocean CASA is just Awesome!

Paradisus Los Cayos: Love this resort!

Paradisus Los Cayos is a beautiful, clean and modern resort. Wonderful assortment of pools and entertainment. Beautiful beach too. The food is good, and there is a good choice of restaurants. Really enjoyed the entertainment team and the friendliness of all the people who work at this resort. The service is excellent! Would definitely come back!

Melia Las Dunas: Great resort .. wonderful beach!

Second time in Cuba, first time to Cayo Santa Maria and I was completely mesmerized with the beach and how clear the water was. ABSOLUTELY GOING BACK TO THIS BEACH! The resort was bigger than I thought and we very grateful for the golf carts there to help people get around. The food was good, and we especially loved the Mediterranean a la carte (Columbus). Drinks were good and bartenders always keeping people refilled, the grounds and landscape were very well maintained and clean, and we found o [... read more]ur beds to be very comfortable. Staff were very pleasant and willing to help. A few things came to mind though: there were no regular patio chairs around the pool area... only the reclining ones. Some people may have difficulty getting down and up from these low chairs, so I think a variety by the pool and beach would help accommodate all ages and physical abilities. The day time entertainers/activity groups were ok... I've had better at other resorts in the sense of games at the pool and their interactions with the clients. The few that did engage in conversation with us were friendly and pleasant. The games at the pool seemed to drag on and if no one participated they staff seem to simply play music with no back up plans or substitute. Overall my daughter and I enjoyed the resort and would go back again!!!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Gorgeous beach

Hotel lobby and bar area is grand and impressive. The beach is gorgeous and clean. 2 pool areas that are expansive and laid out very nice. Large resort with lovely gardens throughout. Rooms were ample but not well cleaned and hallways weren't cleaned all week. Employees are so friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Great Resort

I asked for a room with a balcony when we booked our trip. When we arrived they gave us the ground floor. The person at the front desk really didn't care and just said all the rooms were booked. The next day one of the butlers by the name of Diego came over and said he would change our room to a balcony room no problem. The service of the remainder of the staff was excellent and the hotel and grounds were exceptionally clean. Food was also good - so no complaints here!

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing resort.

Amazing beach!!! After all that's why we go to Cuba. So many chairs and Palm shades, drinks and food ❤, practically on the beach!! Pools and grounds are beautiful, clean, so are the rooms with mini bar fridge supplied daily!! What more can you ask for! We absolutely loved it :)

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Golden tulip

The grounds were beautiful and beach was stunning! People were friendly. Food needs improvement. The beach towel station I have never seen opened the whole time we were there. Great children’s pool and daycare. Yes would go back.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Hard to like

Hotel is huge. Getting to the beach is a hastle and no clear path. Have to go through a forest to get to the beach. Food was terrible, been to Cuba about 20 times, this was the worst! Bugs ate us alive, terrible! Many things closed, it should be mentioned as it is deceiving advertising. We are considering never going back to Cuba due to this. Store at resort the size of a closest for the size of this resort. Checkin took about an hour because only one person there. No welcome drink or anything  [... read more]as advertised. If i came here my first time to Cuba, it would have been my last. I am not happy to say the least.

Melia Las Dunas: Had a very nice holiday

This was my first time in Santa Maria Cuba.. The resort was very nice, everything was clean and well organized. Our room was located in block 29 which was very well located , close to the buffet, lobby and beach. Our room was on the second floor has requested and very clean. The cleaning lady did an excellent job cleaning and restocking our fridge with water, pop and beer. The beach and ocean was just beautiful. There is lots of palapas and chairs for everyone, no need to reserve your chair [... read more] early like other place. The water is cristal clear and very warm. The beach is also very nice to walk on. At night the lobby was a very nice place to go and listen to different band and preformers,really enjoyed the atmosphere of the lobby at night and also the excellent cappuccinos. For the food I have to say it was lacking. There was not mush variety,always the same for every meal, but you could always find something to eat and what they had was good. Really enjoyed my trip and maybe I will return in the future.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great stay at playa Cayo

This was my first time traveling anywhere and I am so happy we picked this resort, we had a great time, the beach was amazing and the staff were all so friendly. We had such a great time we didn’t want to leave. A lot of people tried to warn us about the food in Cuba but we had no problem finding something to eat and enjoyed most of the things we had. Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Average

The overall aesthetic of the hotel was beautiful, including the pool and beach area. We were very unpleased with how the staff treated us for most of our stay. We found the maids and bartenders were the nicest, and the front desk, and waiters/waitress' were the most rude. It seemed that we would go into the buffet and have to go seat ourselves, get ourselves drinks and clear our own plates. They were there for less then a minute, we continued to complain the whole week and had no luck. Overall the room was always clean, and the resort was beautiful.
