Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Enjoyable Vacation

Just returned from Memories Caribe on Jan 13th. Five of us went down to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday and all in all it was a good time and a good value for what we paid. Some negatives and some positives for sure. The bad: The resort was a little dated but they are making efforts to fix it up. Unfortunately, that meant that two of the restaurants were under construction. Our biggest complaints were the room washrooms,the bugs and not much to do after the nightly show. No matter how m [... read more]uch we covered ourselves with bug spray we all got bitten numerous times and that was really annoying. The rooms we had (which were newly renovated) had open concept washrooms. No privacy in the shower or toilet area (no doors) which made it a little uncomfortable with our son sharing our room. Food was good but a little bland in taste. The Good: The staff were fantastic and always willing to help. We didn't like our original rooms and they moved us to another area of the compound. The nightly shows were awesome. Professionally done, well choreographed and beautiful outfits. The pool entertainment staff really made our vacation though. A big shout out to Zoe and Daniella who really do their job well, engage the customers and really bring a personal touch to their work. High energy individuals and lots of fun. Zoe was even there when we departed for the airport to say her final good byes. What a nice touch! Would certainly return if I could figure out how to keep the bugs away.

Memories Jibacoa: Amazing Resort

Love Jibacoa! The people, the food, the room, the service. Everything was amazing and clean. I was disappointed in the hot tubs. There were 4-2 in the Spa and 2 in the pool area. Neither were functional in spa area. In the pool area one was cold and the other had no whirl to the pool! it was just standing hot water. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Excactly what we needed

The Sanctuary has a lot of nice features. The rooms are just the right size, with balcony. Good bathroom, shower etc. Comfortable beds. Enough storage space. The on site restaurant offer good quality food, a bit repetitive but good. You always have the buffet, about 10 min walk is needed.... The grounds are very nice. Nice good level music... The beach has plenty of shade and chair, and they don't really let anybody in, other then the sanctuary guess, (Very Nice beach) . I really hate the  [... read more]dancing shows at night, but at the sanctuary they have nice music bands. Perfect for over 50 couples.... Impeccable service other then when you are leaving. They don't really care about you, your plane, your luggages, your tips, your time , your waiting for assistance when ready for departure. Over all, exactly what we needed except for the departure stress.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Will return!

So here’s an honest review of Sanctuary Resort at Grand Memories. Sanctuary is the adult side. Amazing food. Room was large and clean. Clean Shower and tub. Bathroom walls need a good clean. Amazing customer service with two exceptions. The woman at front desk was very unfriendly and didn’t like to help. Saw our butler the first and last day only. That’s ok because we really didn’t need him. However I’m commenting about it because he said he’d been looking for us all week. We never l [... read more]eft pool or beach. Beach was amazing. Can’t say enough great things about food. Natali at beach bar is outstanding. Our group had such a great time and have no issues recommending Sanctuary. The family side is quite busy. Not for us but I’m sure is great. We needed to shower in SPA on our last day and it was really dirty unfortunately. Wouldn’t make us not return. Flights were great. Attendants on flight to Cuba were horribly rude. The flight home, the attendants were incredible!!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: You pay for what you get!

We chose the cheapest resort for a 4 day vacation. The beach was amazing as well as the staff however, some improvements should be implemented. For example, about half way through the trip we had cockroaches in our room, there were 3 of us in a room and I’m pretty sure we all killed at least 1. We noticed other people in our bungalow (4) complaining and getting moved. The food is whatever, pretty same across Cuba definitely bring your own condiments to survive. Overall, decent getaway!

Grand Memories Varadero: Not a 4 star resort

This resort is a 3 star not a 4 star. Overall enjoyed our vacation, 2nd time to Cuba but first time at this resort. We were a family of 5 - stayed in block 20, which is centrally located to everything. We were accommodated all our requests, which we appreciated. The resort needs a little work but has the potential to a great resort. Rooms were tired and heard a lot of travellers complaining about it. We did not receive new towels when room was cleaned. Only after complaining did we get new towel [... read more]s. Italian restaurant was terrible, the main buffet was the best. Service in the buffet was excellent. Snack bar is supposed to be a quick place to get food, but it was slow most of the time for hot dogs and sandwiches. Beach buffet was convenient. Definitely upgrade to Diamond Club - Premium liquor, separate check in, designated beach area with drink service, which was a big plus as the other side of the beach is way too crowded. Beach was beautiful, clean with no seaweed. Entertainment staff was amazing, the worked hard all day long.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Not what it used to be..

Our air conditioner in room didn't work, resort was over capacity, buffet lines were ridiculous long. Diamond club upgrade and return clients actually felt like a downgrade. We were very disappointed with this visit and ended up transferring to a different resort. Beach was nice, grounds were clean.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Memories were made.

I’ll start by saying our travel agent messed up. She marked that we were linked with our friends on our reservation but it wasn’t noted on our friends reservation so the hotel didn’t know who it was we were supposed to be linked with. As a result we ended up in separate buildings and our dinner reservations didn’t line up with each other. We ended with different times for our New Years Dinner as well. Public ladies washrooms often ran out of toilet paper daily. A la carte restaurants were good. The snack bar often ran out of burgers, buns, even beer at one time. Staff is friendly providing excellent entertainment top quality choreography and dancing. We paid for diamond club but our fridge wasn’t always stocked as they ran out of pop for 2 days for the fridge and beer one day. Beach Towels couldn’t be changed daily. Overall though it was a really good vacation. The size of the resort is perfect, and the staff was accommodating.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Amazing beach, so so resort

World class beach but has lots of sand fleas. Bring bug spray. Rooms and hotel outdated and in need of repairs. Staff super friendly and helpful. Cuba going through a recession so not all food options available all the time (bread) and 24 snack bar closed or no options many times.

Memories Paraiso: Wasn't the greatest resort but beautiful beach

The room was not very nice, we got so many bites and were worried that we got bed bugs. The food was pretty bad. Not much to pick from, barely any all you can eat shacks. The market that was a 5 minute walk was really nice. The beach was incredible.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing beach - Good resort - Ok buffet!

Amazing beach - probably the most beautiful beach in Cuba! Lots of lounge chairs. Great pools - Lots of lounge chairs. Good resort - could use updating, i.e. furniture, painting, grounds well maintained. Ok buffet - huge line-ups for pasta and meat of the day, i.e. chicken, beef. Don't understand why they don't set-up a bit differently to accommodate patrons. As for the rest, typical Cuba - friendly and helpful staff.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Une place pittoresque

Un hôtel à prix abordable, situé sur une belle colline avec beaucoup d'activités. La plage est intime est bien sécurisée (pas de vendeurs des souvenirs). Il y a des algues. Les restaurants sont comme si comme ça, 3 sur 5 comme presque tous les hôtels à Cuba . Personnellement j'ai aimé le voyage peut-être je vais revenir là.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Awesome trip

We really enjoyed ourselves, read all the reviews, went prepared for all the bad things and encountered none of them! Beach was amazing, staff was friendly, food was good (go to the grilling stations), beer was good, room was clean. Actually I have two complaints, no door on the bathroom...really? A little privacy is nice, I would take a shower curtain and a extending bar next time. Second complaint is with people complaining...what do you expect in Cuba...5 Star Canadian resort? If you’r [... read more]e not happy keep it to yourself, don’t constantly complain to anyone and everyone! Excellent resort, awesome people, we will return.

Grand Memories Varadero: Awesome resort

Food was exceptional and so many choices. Staff very friendly but not efficient .......................... .. ........................................................at least 200 characters

Resonance Blu Varadero: Old, not terrible but not nice either

Rooms were old, rusty furniture and hole in our sliding door about the size of a thick book. Had to patch it up with a grocery bag so moths stopped coming in. Otherwise besides the food everything else was great. Wish they had more events for kids. Never saw toopy and binoo and the kids play area was broken.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great family resort!

We traveled over New Year’s with our two children and had an amazing week. the New Year’s Eve bash was fantastic along with the buffet ! The beach is spectacular and the kids enjoyed snuggling right off the beach

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: All around great trip!

We have no complaints, everything was clean, food was good, and beach was unreal! Did not get to any excursions on the island but only heard great experiences from others. Very accommodating, friendly, and helpful staff.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Not impressed

This was possibly the worst service of any resort I have been to You have to carry receipt slips everywhere. No plugs for sink or tub in room. Hour free internet was never available . Pay more for the week that includes New Years but have to pay extra to go to the New Year’s Eve party. Then have to pay again when wait staff accidentally discards your receipt from dinner table. Even after showing credit card receipt for paying they still charged me for the second time for not having the other [... read more] receipt. Menus didn’t have available what was in the menu. Buffet was ok but things weren’t kept hot when supposed to be. Couldn’t get a hamburger all week at snack bar. One day no hot water (don’t get any money back for that)all I expect is what I payed for and that wasn’t even close Beaches were beautiful and had good weather thank god.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Nice resort!

We enjoyed our holiday here. The beach and pools were amazing. The weather was sunny every day. We enjoyed the adults only atmosphere. There is no snorkeling close by and there are many bugs. The food was ok but not as good as the Holguin area. The staff seems tired. The room was fine but view was a maintenance back lane. We asked to switch rooms but we gave up after they gave us a runaround.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Beautiful pool and beach!!

We went to the Sanctuary from Dec 27-January 3 . I’ll be honest at first I was like hmmmmm this resort needs a major paint job, and upgrade. I didn’t realize the resort was in a hurricane over a year ago. But having said that it was a year ago... and the resort could put people to work in cleaning up the place ..its not dirty but very very weathered. The food was ok in the buffet , if you love seafood which we do and chicken you could have something freshly grilled. They do need to turn up the tables most food in the buffet was Luke warm. The A la Cartes were delicious no complaints at all and we did them every day. The bar tenders were friendly and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
