Catalonia Montego Bay: Amazing resort

The Holiday Inn Resort in Montego Bay is an amazing place to go for a vacation whether with family or friends. The food is excellent. Grounds are well maintained and so is the pool. They have a private island you can actually walk to. Rooms are clean. The dining room staff are the best friendly and helpful. On this trip we were 18 guests and 3 needed assistance and dining room staff were there to help bring their plates from the buffet. My husband and I were there to renew our 30th wedding anniversary and it could not have been better. Catalonia Montego Bay: You get what you pay for

I did not enjoy my stay, the bathroom was very tiny, the hotel smells and it was very old. We had to buy water and there was no fridge. The food was very limited, also the a/c was very loud. The hotel is located too close to the main road, the traffic was really loud, I don't think that your meals should be so close to the swimming pool it should be in a different area

Riu Reggae: Amazing Resort!!!!!!!!!!!

The resort was amazing! Went and got what we expected!!!! Everyone was so nice and food was amazing! Will go again soon! I also got engaged here so will never forget this resort!!! Will recommend to everyone!

Riu Negril: Family friendly

It was beautiful, the dancers were amazing and the entertainment was plentiful. The food was amazing and had lots of choice for allergy suffers like my son. The only issue i had was with the day staff not cleaning the room, i had three kids and a few clothes on the floor. She took the tips and tried to skip my room like she had done the days before even though we needed toiletries and bedding to be replaced. She was rude to my kids and myself and huffed and puffed while she added new sheets whic [... read more]h smelled bad and didn't replace the cover. My baby was ill and needed a nap so we covered the whole bed with towels to mask it. Other than her (other maids/staff were very kind) it was amazing and the excursions and entertainment were great ( bit pricey). i also reccomend the massages : ) it was gorgeous and really felt like paradise.

Excellence Oyster Bay: 1st class service

We have been to several resorts, nothing like Excellence Oyster Bay. Staff are so pleasant, they never seem to have a bad day. Always looking to make your stay better. The chef at the buffet came out every morning to say thank you and to make sure our stay was all we ever wanted.

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Great Family Vacation

Jewel Runaway Bay was a fantastic getaway. Our room was fantastic (premier), clean and located in the topaz building right beside the infinity pool and water park, which was great as that's where the kids stayed! Food choice was great! Staff are friendly and helpful. Snorkeling was amazing, beach was clean and never overly crowded (end of may). The availability of the free water sports was good. The pools were clean and loungers were always available. (go early for shade) WIFI is not reliable  [... read more]but you can find access in the main lobby or by the kids clubs. My only complaint was the inconsistency in the kids activities and night time entertainment. I think this was mostly given to the time of year we visited, as things would be canceled with no communication given or entertainment would be different from what was listed on the daily itinerary.

Riu Reggae: Very good

Staff were awesome from Reception to waiting staff. Down point room was not cleaned twice. Had to call to be done. Did not like beach as feet sink into sand too deep for me to enjoy the ocean. Could have been more variety in the choice of food.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Great times!!

This was my 4th time at this resort and had a great time. The food is amazing, the beach is unfortunately not good at all. The pools were well maintained. I would recommend cleaning the beach, removing the seaweed so we can actually swim in the ocean.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Excellent Resort - Quiet a bit of young people and lively

Overall I think this is an excellent resort.... I'm 35. The main differences that I could see from the Luxury Bahia compared to the Grand Bahia, is you get more premium alcohol included (Black Label, Red Label, Jack Daniels, Overproof Rum, CC, Baileys), whereas there is extra charges on Bahia. Also, the food options at the Luxury (at least from ala cart restaurant standpoint) is superior to the Grand Bahia. Grand Bahia beats it on beach and overall design. Wifi included on Luxury side, but extr [... read more]a on the Bahia side. I believe entertainment is equal. The onsite club is on the Grand Bahia side, and is open daily (I believe) from 11pm to 2am. Free, quick, golf cart shuttles are provided from the Luxury to the Grand in about 90 second ride...(wait time might be 5 minutes). So the Club, Kareokee bar is shared, but that was fine. Music was good and lively, bartenders were fast. On the Luxury Side: Rooms: Were kept in great shape, and have 2 services (morning turndown) and evening turndown service if you wanted. The room could be scented at your request (no charge) .. for example coconut, lavender etc. 2 200ml bottles of alcohol provided, and the mini bar charged daily. Lots of hot water and towels provided. Bed was really comfortable. No room complaints. Building 24 I would say is the best, if you want short walks to food, amenities, entertainment, and both beach options. It is louder in the building, but if you are not in your rooms throughout the day it should be fine. Entertainment: Is mostly outside, which we preferred. Is a young crowd that comes out to them. Bar is set up right beside the entertainment for convenience. Something is going on everyday at night. Ending at 11pm. Then if you want more go to the club 11-2am. Food: Top notch, I think there was 4 or 5 restaurant to choose from at night plus the Luxury buffet. Breakfast had 2 buffet options. Lots of food. Fresh juices available. 15% of your options were local Jamaica food type. Fruit, etc, etc. If you complain about the food on the luxury side, you will complain about anything in life. Real Jerk Chicken is available at Los Olas from Fitizroy at lunch ... top notch. Pool: Sufficient pool sizes. The main pool is located next to the swim up bar, and the average age in this pool is about 30, no one is swimming, straight up drinking and bobbing up and down. There is a live DJ playing music with games. Another pool is where 40+ aged people swim and chill, and they seemed to like that. Beach: If Beach is your top thing, then this resort is a no go. The sand area is about 30 feet deep (small) and the beach is very rocky (swim shoes is basically required) to even get into the water. The water depth goes to about 2.5 feet that's it. Man made beach, so large rocks are in the ocean about 100 feet in. Lots of fish by the rocks, small crabs on the rocks. Servers will come to your umbrella to take your orders. If you came to seriously swim in the ocean or to feel the waves, choose another resort. Service: Top notch in the restaurants around food. Bartenders were fast, and drinks were strong, but cups were small [bring bigger, they will fill up]. English well spoken. Grounds were kept extremely clean. Staffing numbers were prolly scaled 1:1 to general public [great]. Lobby staff (including Donna) was kind and accommodating of a room change to be closer to the action on the 2nd night. (as building 26 was very far (but quiet if that's your preference). They will not push for tips at all, but are appreciative. Other: Location is about 75mins from airport, and you will likely be the final hotel stop (3rd or 4th), so plan on arriving 100mins after exiting the airport. Red Strip is the only beer available. 4.5/5 .... only because the beach was so-so

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Beautiful property

Great stay, the staff was really nice and helpful, what I didn't like was this smell of swer in my room 3420 , the smell was a turn off , I did address it with one of the staff and the smell when away that day, but two later the smell return , it was time for me to leave so I didn't request to be move , outside of that everything was very good

Sandals Dunn's River: Great smaller scale resort!

Overall great experience, everything was well maintained and the food was delicious although sometimes a bit repetitive. As a couple we really enjoyed the "smaller scale adults only" type compared to huge complexes. The ride from the airport is about 2 hours, which for us allowed us to sleep (at 9pm) on the way there and get a private small tour of local areas with our ride on the way back to the airport. Legends Beach Resort: Don't waste your time, you'll be disapointed...

We've been there for 1 week in May. NEVER AGAIN! For the same price, we could have been in a much, much, better place. The Legends is not an hotel, or a motel, it's worst than an hostel! It's a place for junkies... Lot of drugs, pills, etc. No security and unsafe lock in the room. Smells awful everywhere on the site. Very old rooms, everything is broken or does'nt work, food variety none, no towels, no safebox in the room, no fridge or coffeemaker in the room. At our arrival, we were ch [... read more]ecked-in by the security guard who gave us our key and that was it... It was pitch black outside & we had to look for our room... If you want to invest that price (1230$/per person), keep looking you will find a REAL nice hotel.

Fun Holiday Beach Resort: Amazing Beach

I have been to this resort 7x. The rooms are rought around the edge's but it doesnt bother me. AC worked well . I won't do AI here again. The food this time, was very very repetitive and poor quality. Kitchen food budget needs to be INCREASED!!! Limited fruits offered were extremely overripe. Tray of rice in the buffet was cold as if it just came out the fridge. Jerk chicken left from night b4 becomes BBQ chicken the next day for lunch. Desserts not worth mentioning. It was mango season and  [... read more]not a mango in sight!! Tea pot at buffet couldn't plug in due to electrical issues. No fruit for frozen smoothie drinks at the bar, fountain soda is flat. No sense paying for food I won't eat and alcohol/drinks I won't drink. Location is prime and beach is world renowned. I would definitely return for those reasons. Great location, great staff. Food is the biggest let down here. I have seen much better in previous years. There is food everywhere just off the resort.

Jewel Paradise Cove: Outstanding Resort

The staff and management were great and went to the level to help you out. The beaches and grounds are groomed daily and as well your room were cleaned and stock with all the water and drinks. They have a couple on free tours that a must. Wish we could have stayed longer

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Solid 4 Star Resort

Hotel is a dated, wouldn't rate it as a five star. Good price for all inclusive stay compared to other 5 star rated resorts. Hallways are poorly lit and elevators are small and old. Elevators can only fit about 6 people at a time, or 2 people with luggage. Staff use the same elevators as well with their carts and trolleys taking up almost the entire elevator. There is no up or down button so it stops on every floor where people are waiting regardless if they are going up or down. Rooms an [... read more]d bathrooms are large. Has the standard big whirlpool tub which takes up half the bathroom. A small single person stand up shower, and single sink. Water pressure in the shower was poor and temperature fluctuated often between hot and cold water. AC worked fine and kept the room cool. King size bed. The beach area was small and rocky along the shoreline. Kids pool area and main pool area were large and usually had enough poolside chairs and umbrellas available. The selection of Jamaican food was excellent. The themed nights at the buffet were pretty terrible. Spanish and Asian food selection did not do the cultures any justice, and should try to be improved. Not prepared with the proper and quality ingredients, did not taste good and was not close to being authentic. Desserts were usually the generic big slab cakes and mousses, bread pudding and some type of fried dough balls. Bar service was usually quick, and mixed drinks were prepared decently with a good mix of alcohol to the rest of the drink. The staff were friendly and professional. Had very pleasant interactions with most of the staff in front desk, bars and restaurants. Needed to request for our mini bar to be restocked on two different dates. If you track sand into your room from the beach it will stay there on the floor, housekeeping cleans the room well for the most part but doesn't appear that they sweep/vacuum floors during the week stay.

Riu Montego Bay: The beauty of the people

I was able to visit the Riu in Montego Jamaica along with my family in May 2019. We arrived mid afternoon with a welcoming smile from sunswing staff and she was able to guide us to the front desk to check in right away. Then a kind gentleman took our languages and walked us to our rooms, on our walk he asked us our name, where we from, is it our first here and so on. I travel often and see people doing there jobs just because they have to but you can see that they don’t want to be there. Everyone of the staff from house keeping, dining, bartenders, landscaping, towel attendee, lifeguards and especially the entertaining crew were AMAZING. I would call a few names but I don’t want to leave anyone out. They were friendly, kind, approachable, helpful, supportive, open to communicate and interacts with all there guest of all ages. Another thing that I loved about the staff is that they never made you feel that you needed to tip them and when you did they appreciated it. I didn’t give each time but I got them same kind smile which never changed. The food was good but the environment brought me and my family such joy and I would recommend anyone to experience it. I hope whom ever is reading this will share my review with the staff and express to the how great of a job they are doing. I will continue to brag about my trip to everyone I know n don’t know. Grand Palladium Jamaica: Amazing resort

Grand palladium is amazing. It’s structure and design is so incredible, huge, like you are at a palace. Plenty of dining options. Over 10 restaurants to Choose from we didn’t get to eat at every one, but the Food was just mediocre but staff are very nice. More detail could be put on the seasonings for food. We food a lot of options bland. Will stay again for the great design clean atmosphere and staff!

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Good Food, Lacks Towels.

Rooms - Dated, but clean. Biggest issue was consistency. We had 2 rooms, 1 room got towels daily the other lacked towels at least 50% of the days there. Housecoats in one room only , Spare toilet paper in one room but not the other. The beds were super comfortable and lots of English TV stations. No snacks but 8 bottles of water and a couple soft drinks and beers daily. Beach - fantastic, lots of chairs, close to bars, snorkeling right off beach. Beach towels are an issue. Golf - Course wa [... read more]s really dried out. The greens and tee boxes were good but the rest was yellow. A bit dissapointing, expecially since renting clubs was 40 each, plus caddy and cart fee made golf about $150 (USD) plus drinks and tip. Water Park - Was fun, did get a bit busy but a great extra perk. Food - Excellent, everything except dining under the stars (food was cold, less selection). Everyone was happy with restaurants and the buffet shockingly did change many items throughout the week. The jerk hut was fantastic. Service was just okay. A few bartenders went out of their way for tips but overall was only impressed by a couple of waiters.

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Great Family Resort

The staff are amazing and the small resort makes it better to get to know the staff and to build a relationship with. My kids had a blast and want to go back. 3.5 star in quality of the hotel but a 5 star for the kids club staff. The hotel itself is a bit outdated.

Riu Reggae: Favolous Resort

We been going to different Carribean resort, at Punta Cana, Mexico, to try other country, we choose Jamaica. Debating which resort we are going to stay, we end up choosing Riu to experience this hotel also. This is our first time in this hotel, so glad that we choose the RIGHT one! The Food, wow fresh and Authentic. Love the Jerk chicken they are serving at the beach. Sweet potatoes is real man! Love it. Room is always clean and organize. I forget the name of our housekeeper but she is very nice also. We are at the first floor of the right side of the lobby, it was very convenient, sound proof, steps away from the beach and pool.
