Ocean Riviera Paradise: Awesome resort

We just returned from a glorious week. We would definitely go back to this resort. Our room was spotless. The amenities were replenished frequently and the fridge was cold and filled everyday. The decor was lovely and inviting. Not one complaint there. The buffet and restaurants were clean and the food very tasty. It was not overly busy and the staff very friendly and brought our beverages promptly. We were in the adult section and enjoyed the entertainment very much. Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Lovely resort

We really enjoyed our trip. The rooms were an okay size and the bed was decent enough. Water pressure was lacking but we managed through the week. We had a problem with the air conditioning and they moved us to a new room on the second day. We had a couple of other minor hiccups but Guest Services was prompt to address. We tried all three a la carte restaurants and the no reservation required is a nice feature.. However, as Cuba is not known for its cuisine, we actually found the buffet a  [... read more]better option. We could peruse first and select a little of each item we liked without having to waste. The buffet area felt very cafeteria like though so there was no ambiance. A little music even might help. The quartet that played one night in the lobby bar and two nights in the piano bar while we were there, were EXCELLENT! A wide genre of music, excellent musicians and engaging entertainers. Our favourite part of the hotel stay! They were still recovering a tad from IRMA so there were a lot of pathways that were still unlit... Thank goodness for phone flashlights. The beach and the pool are well located and we enjoyed the spiralling layout of the resort as opposed to a large hotel, however if you are mobility challenged, it may be a problem. The staff for the most part were friendly, courteous and accommodating. If we went again, we would bring some disposable latex gloves for the cleaning staff. It was not nice to see them wringing makeshift mops (old towels draped across a squeegee) with their bare hands....I brought a small jar of dried chilies and hot sauce to add to our food and it certainly helped. The resort is located near the tip off the peninsula so if you want to go into Varadero proper it is a 20 CUC cab ride each way or you can take the (slow, crowded) hop on hop off bus for 5 CUC per day. Overall a great, safe, Cuba getaway!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great resort

Dinning was exceptional for Cuba. All the specialty restaurants were above average for Cuba. Special thanks to Yamilka and all the girls at Mike's Cafe for the great service and great coffee. Always served with a smile and grat attitudes. Also Johan on the beach who set up our beach chairs in the morning. Staff was very friendly and courteous from the restaurants to buffet and front desk. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Cuba.

Great Resort! Would definitely go back! Staff were pleasant and helpful. Clean rooms and common areas! Food was amazing. Great entertainment and definitely caters to all ages. BEWARE of time share pp in the lobby at check in though. Otherwise it was a great time

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Not ocean casa del mar, switched due to hurricane

We were scheduled to go to go to ocean casa del mar, but had to switch due to hurricane Irma. We decided on sunscape Bavaro beach resort. What an amazing resort, excellent for families, lots of activities for all ages. Clean resort and rooms. Staff were excellent, polite and efficient. Food was good and there was enough choice to satisfy most people. No booking of a la cartes so we went twice to chopsticks. Beach had lots of seaweed, but by day 3 they had cleaned it all up and it was nice. Excel [... read more]lent entertainment and the staff who did the activities were great!! The only downfall was the amounts of locals that came Friday till Sunday, nothing wrong with locals, only the resort went from half full to full, and it was harder to watch the children in the pool. Was a great holiday and certainly would return, but would say this is more of a family resort vs a couples type resort.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Amazing resort

We just came back on Monday after spending a week family vacation at this resort. This place is lovely for a family with kids, we stayed at Daisy. The rooms were so clean and neat. The public areas so well maintained, the food was amazing the hosts were so nice and friendly. Smantha our host always would welcome us to the restaurant with a warm smile. The only problem is the service, I believe they need to train their waitresses. You would seat and ask for a high chair a few people until someon [... read more]e would have bring it to you. At the breakfast your coffee would will be delivered on the table at almost the end of the meal. My son 17 months old broke the reading lamp that was at the night table, i did report it to the housekeeping immediately and they did send a security to take a look at it, when the guy came he said that everything is ok, not to worry and would not be extra charges in our account, but unfortunately at the check pout they have to charge us $75USD I know that yes he did break it, but trust me it was placed at the edge of the table and it was such a cheap ceramic. The beach was so rocky very hard to swim. The evening shows were good, especially we enjoyed the circus, the players were amazing. I will definitely will recommend this place to families.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great Resort!

We enjoyed this resort very much. The variety of A la Carte restaurants was very good, the food selection was fantastic. We enjoyed almost all the restaurants. The Buffet again had a lot of variety and very tasty food, wait time for drinks (pop/water/beer) took way too long. There were times that we waited 20 minutes for a drink and rarely got a refill. The room itself was perfect, clean and tidy, cleaning staff did a great job. There were not enough face towels. Loved that the balcony had a hanging swing, enjoyed that with a book for some quiet time. The grounds cleaning staff were always about cleaning and were always smiling. Actually we found the a lot of the staff smiling and helpful, their English was excellent. When you said Thank you to staff they always replied "it is my pleasure" and they actually meant it. The variety of pools was great, you could decide on which day where you wanted to be. The daytime activities around the pool and beach were so much fun and fun to watch. Nighttime activities were great and good to see staff and guest interaction. My sister and her family stayed next door at the Princess and they came for a visit with their kids to the Ocean, the day passes were affordable and the staff made her and her family feel very welcome. They enjoyed their time and loved the resort as well.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Very Nice for an Old Resort

This was our first time to Mexico. I must say that we were quite pleased with the service and attention received while there. It was the off season and our trip central rep. kept us up to date on what services were not available during this time frame.The staff were second to none. Everyone was more than helpful and went above and beyond to provide a service. The grounds were very well kept. No garbage anywhere. Staff were always around manicuring and did not interfere with any of the guests. [... read more] The restaurants were very clean and also the staff were there to service you if needed. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and have already done this. I would visit again and stay at this hotel. Like they say: "No need to fix something that is not broken". Hope to see this resort again very soon.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: nice resort

The rooms and grounds were nice but the spa, disco, and theater were still under construction because of the hurricane. They are working very hard on fixing it up and should be all done soon. Staff was great

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Amazing!!!

I would recommend this resort. The food was incredible, the staff especially Fatima were so friendly and helpful. The games at the adult pools were so much much. The guy who does the crazy games was so funny. The rooms were clean and modern.

Ocean Maya Royale: Loved it!

Great selection of fresh and tasty food. They didn't have Gluten free bread, which I would have liked. Loved the white sandy beach. The entertainment was amazing. The staff was very friendly. Adults only was a bonus.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: We had the best time!

This resort was simply lovely. We stayed for two weeks from Oct 19-November 2’17. We stayed in the Beso Adult only section. They have the Daisy Family section with an amazing water park for the kids!! Pros- Extremely clean! Wonderful staff, very friendly and hard working, eager to please. Activity staff were very enthusiastic and fun. Food was delicious! Lots to choose from and loads of healthy options, as well as tons of desserts. The Japanese Teppanaki Restaurant was a fun experience. Rooms are gorgeous and clean with a large balcony with comfortable furniture. Cleaning staff did a great job everyday and the room looked and smelled clean !! Nature is honoured and protected here. From the little Coaties, to the iguanas to the monkeys! We loved catching glimpses of them and even saw a mama monkey with her baby up in the trees!! Cons- Honestly, the one negative comment is that the beach, while very lovely, was too rocky for swimming. There are plenty of loungers for relaxing though! The only other issue was the H10 sales staff trying to get us to come to their sales presentation. We declined and they weren’t too pushy, but we were asked three times in two weeks. All in all, we loved our vacation at the Oceans Riviera Paradise.

Playa Vista Azul: Ok resort

Hotel was clean. Grounds and public areas were lovely. There is a need for more lighting on the walkways. It was very difficult when walking back to the room in the dark. The staff were all amazing, very friendly and helpful! The rooms were adequate. Not up to the standards of which I am used to for a hotel rated that high.

Playa Vista Azul: Wonderful

Had a great trip manager and staff amazing was emailing back and forth with the manager regarding a member of our group who needed special treatment and he delivered so compassionate thanks so much Mr Jefe ❤️

Playa Vista Azul: “Privileged” holiday at a great hotel!

This was my first trip to Cuba and this hotel was very nice! My Mom and my sisters did the privilege upgrade which was great and well worth the price. The privilege bar was excellent - thanks to Mikael and team! The Neptune privilege restaurant was really good and much better than the other restaurants we tried. The staff were so nice - Katia and everyone else who works there are fantastic! We stayed in the main building and loved the Infinity pool! Ocean Maya Royale: Good vacation!

This was the first time we had been to mexico and had a pretty good time. Food was great, staff were very friendly. We would highly recommend the Italian and japanese steak house for dinner! Rooms were fairly clean other than the floors being a bit dirty but to be expected when you are at the beach. The shows were great but nightlife is a bit lacking at this resort. We had no issues during our stay!

Playa Vista Azul: Great resort

All was kept clean and in order which is very rare in most resorts. Grounds were kept immaculate. Service was given in a friendly manner 98% of the time. If I were to return to Cuba I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Good Resort

The hotel is nice and clean. It could use a few updates and serve better food at the restaurants. They need to not hustle people with the membership. Overall a good enough experience. People are very friendly.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great resort!

This was our second time at the resort. The first time they had a welcome wine bottle in the room and this time not, but that's nothing major. The resort has great pools, clean grounds and clean rooms. Our shower drain wasn't drai ing properly and our bathroom floor flooded couple of times. We reported it twice. The beach is ice but the water has rocks. Very hard to get in the water without water shoes or while holding two small kids. There's lots of animals on the grounds; Coti, monkeys and ig [... read more]uanas. The kids loved it. Unfortunately the seafood restaurant was closed the whole week we were there. The kids water park is great but what I didn't like is the life guards didn't let us go down with our daughter but when locals come.in on the weekend it was allowed for them.
