Playa Pesquero: Beautiful resort

Everything was wonderful : the white sandy beach, clear ocean, the grounds nicely kept, absolutely no garbage laying around, every worker from groundsmen to waiters, managers, ect... were very polite, amiable, caring, and welcoming. A very clean resort. The food was great! A large array of choices in the buffet restaurants and many restaurants A la carte to chose from. A large lobby to meet up with friends and family. The morning after a large rain storm, we had water dripping into our  [... read more]room in front of the patio door. Immediately upon advising the front desk, we were moved to another Casa. It was a none issue.....nothing got damaged and we ended up in a more glorious room. The staff went out of there way to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Absolutely wonderful and fantastic vacation

Everything about this resort is A1. I have returned now 3 times and looking forward to going again. The staff is all very kind and helpful. The grounds are very well kept and clean. Service is prompt. The beach is well kept and very beautiful. The food is the best in Cuba and no waiting in lines. I recommend this resort 110 percent.

It’s was a great place to stay the service is excellent and rooms are very clean and comfortable staff are kind and respectful We enjoy our vacation we had a lobster service it was excellent the buffet is ok but not much choice .. always the same thing and in Cuba no bread for beakfeast just buns the beach is awsome lots of palapas Water there are some corails but great for snorkeling

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Nice resort but needs updating

This was my second time at this resort. Rooms need to be updated and the food selection was repetitive each day. But saying that, Staff are wonderful and eager to help with any request. Beaches and pools are great. I would recommend this resort.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Wonderful stay!

A fairly bigger hotel than I am used to staying but easy enough to get around. There is a variety of choices in the restaurants and the food is much better than I had expected. This was my first trip to Cuba and went in dreading the restaurants based on reviews and friends that have been to Cuba. It’s not the same as home but you will not starve. It is safe and you will feel secure to walk out of the hotel and visit the area. There is a bus that goes to Guardalavaca that stops right in front of the hotel. Staff is pleasant and very helpful. Bank on site to change money. Internet was ok. I did manage a signal in my room. You have to purchase one hour cards that you log in with. Be sure to turn wifi off when not in use as your time will run out. Bring reusable mug for the bar to save on cups and keep your drinks chilled. Mojitos were perfect!

Brisas Guardalavaca: Great resort with many repeat guests

The hotel sits on a very nice beach with lots of shaded areas and chairs. The grounds are kept very clean and beautiful. Villas have received some updates in the last two years but accommodations are basic. We had hot water everyday and the air conditioning worked well. Everyone is always made to feel welcome and the large number of repeat guests says it all.

The Rooms where Clean. Beds comfy.. Food was Good but Same Food Every day in Buffet..NO BREAD ALL WEEK..Near End of my 7 Day Trip - the Milk had Ran out.. Ala-carts ... Playa Costa Verde: Beautiful grounds!

We had a great time enjoying the beautiful grounds, friendly and helpful staff, and the actractive beach! The small size of the resort makes it easy to meet people and form new relationships. We anticipate returning in the future!

Playa Pesquero: great resort

been there 5 times now . wouldn't want to go any where else. cant wait till next January . even feel comfortable going off the resort as well . yes I would recommend this to any one who goes to cuba . or any where else .

Playa Pesquero: Playa Pesquero

The grounds were nice. The building we stayed could use some care. The room was okay and clean. The food was not great at most buffets. Trattoria and Romantico restaurants were good.The food was very bland and they have no idea how to make dessert. There is a big shortage of flour, cooking oil and more. The wifi should be included. The employees were friendly. Not sure how much of the tips we were giving would actually go home with the hard working people.

Playa Pesquero: Lovely

The staff without exception were helpful, warm, and charming.The grounds were spotless, the lobby always active and filled with music, and the coffee car is to die for. The only quibble was the a la carte restaurants that we found to be less than a satisfying dining experience. Otherwise this is a splendid resort. This was our second visit and we will return.

Don Lino Hotel: Amazing stay

Excellent staff, food and resort. Always welcoming when you get to resort and very helpful. New things being added for the customers all the time. Will continue to go as I meet up with people who have been there years before.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Amazing resort

We spent 2 weeks in January there and stayed at villa section Beautiful landscaping, most beautiful beach I’ve been, Crystal blue water, plenty of space under the sun and the shed, Resort was full but we never waited to long to get drinks or food in the restaurant Very attentive staff and I wanted to say special thank you to our cleaning lady sorry can’t remember her name ( room 7108) She kept our room in a perfect shape and if you requested bath towels and bedding sheets changed you  [... read more]got it when you need it Food was hot and big variety to choose from You can order a romantic dinner on the beach for 15 pesos per person and you won’t regret it It was just perfect and we enjoyed it for my husband birthday We had huge lobster very yum but you can order your food when booking Overall I highly recommended this resort ( we’ve been to Cuba 10 times in different locations) This place was the first one we wanted to return Stay open minded and enjoy your holiday

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Room Will Make or Break Your Holiday

We had a pleasant stay at this resort but it would have been quite different if we had stayed in the Gardenview Room assigned to us. This room, in the so called “barracks” was small and dingy and the location was noisy because of the construction next door. Air Canada should worn people about this. We upgraded to a 2nd floor Bungalow, which was a good sized room and quite comfortable. Maid service was very good and the sheets were clean and sparkling white. This resort is one of con [... read more]trasts. Good rooms: Bungalows and Villas and not so good rooms: the Gardenview barracks and the Standard inside the main hotel building. The food in the main buffets was generally good but limited and very repetitive. Eating early is a good idea as the popular foods run out and do not seem to be replenished. There are 2 buffets and we definitely preferred the one in the Bungalow section as it was brighter and cheerier and generally didn’t have the entrance line-ups as did the one in the hotel. The views out over the water are great and there is a lovely walk-way along the water for your morning stroll. The rest of the grounds are neat and clean and spacious. There are 4 pools so you never have trouble finding a lounge chair. We spent most of our time at the Villa pool as it was generally quiet compared to the pool outside the hotel (loud music) and the Bungalow pool (noisy swim-up bar). The beach was picturesque but crowded so if you did not arrive early, you had to pay 1 cuc for a lounge chair rented out by the local Cubans. Watch your towel as friends of ours had one taken from their pool chair. The entertainment area hosts a large, well lit stage; however the entertainment is limited and often exists of solo singers and singing groups. One acappella group from Holguin was very talented and enjoyable. Disappointed that the horse and buggy ride cost 20 cucs which seems to be a rip off since most Cubans only make 15 to 20 cucs a month. Overall for a 2.5 star resort, it is a good deal but be careful which room you get as it could ruin your holiday.

Playa Pesquero: Good Resort

This is our second time to Holguin.. We stayed the first time at another hotel but we feel that Playa Pasquero offers more than the other. The rooms are brighter and bigger. The food is great and entertainment area was completely covered. The beach was clean and nice all the time. Maybe if the guy that offers the beach chairs will be more friendly will be best. I get it that you can tip but not NEED to tip. Overall, great resort, great people.

Playa Pesquero: Lovely holiday

We were favourably impressed by this resort, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was comfortable, and was fastidiously cleaned. My only negative comment is that we did not have a coffee maker in the room due to a shortage. We enjoyed the food especially when you took advantage of reserving at the alacarte restaurants. It is a large resort and entails a lot of walking, there is a bus service if you want to wait, but we enjoyed the walks. Although it was not a high priority in our vacation c [... read more]hoice, we did spend a lot of time on the beach. It is a challenge to get a fabric lounge chair rather than the less comfortable plastic type. Many swimmers equipped themselves with a snorkel and mask to see the marine life which you cannot see with the naked eye. We enjoyed the evening shows in the Gibaro Theater.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Another great vacation

Just returned from another great week at my home away from home the fabulous Club Amigo. The things that make this hotel the perfect getaway is the beach (best in Holguin), the people and the guest. Everyone is happy and enjoying themselves to the fullest. There are 4 different pools to enjoy depending on if you want a party pool, a quiet pool, family pool or really quiet pool there’s something for everyone. If you haven’t been here do yourself a favor and find out why the majority guest you talk to have been there 5+ times.

Brisas Covarrubias: Somewhat disappointing

We booked thru trip central with hola sun. When we arrived they said they didn’t have a reservation for us so put us in a very poorly kept room. No safe could be used, shower work sporadically. We had to complain numerous times in order to be moved. The staff was not very friendly and the mosquitoes were plentiful. The resort is very isolated and thus there were not a lot of excursions.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Resort offers real value for budget conscious travellers

Memories Holguin provides real value for budget conscious travellers. The highlight of the resort is its 5 pools, one just for kids. The pools offer pristine water and some have ocean views. The main lobby area is clean and inviting, and there is musical entertainment in the evenings. Rooms are clean and spacious. The grounds are lush with tropical trees and flowers. There is plenty of variety for meals with 4 a la cartes (Romantic, Italian, Cuban, Seafood) and a buffet in the dining hall. We recommend the eggs for breakfast (fried, scrambled, poached or omelette made to order), and chicken, pork or fish on the grill at lunch or supper. Also lots of deli meats and cheeses, fresh fruit, and pastries. The coffee is very good. There is also a 24 hour snack bar. Cappuccino is available in the morning in the lobby and the bartenders make great mojitos. As always the Cuban staff are friendly and helpful. Take a ride in a local taxi. Most drivers use vintage automobiles that are in mint condition. Be aware that the resort is situated on a hill so there are a number of stairs to climb between the beachfront and the resort lobby. Also we recommend bug spray to keep the sand flies away. This was the third time for my wife and I at this resort and we will definitely go back.

Brisas Covarrubias: A disappointment

The beach was wonderful! The mosquitoes terrible. The housekeeping staff was awe full. We had no clean towels for 3 of the 7 days. The first room we were in didn’t have a safe or a working shower we had to complain 3 times before they gave us a better room. When we got to the resort we were told they didn’t have a reservation for us. All in all this resort was disappointing
