Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Very Beautiful resort

The grounds of this resort is very beautiful and relaxing! The rooms (Level) were comfortable and clean. Well stocked also. Food was good, always something you can find to your liking. Staff very courteous (some have issues with the english language)

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Amazing Resort

This resort exceeded our expectations. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasant one. Our room was situated on the ground floor of the first building which was perfect as 2 of our party were mobility challenged. We had easy access to the lounge, the gift shop, the bar, the buffet, the pool and the beach. I love how the beach is just a short stroll from the pool. The food was very, very good. How I wish I was back there enjoying a Banana Mama!!

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Overall review for Bavaro Beach and Palace

Beach and pools obviously were incredible!!! Thank goodness they upgraded us as I was shocked by the state of the first room they gave us at the Bavaro beach. We are used to a standard room but this was not 5 star!! Also, when we are at the Bavaro beach hotel before the upgrade they said only 4 restaurants were included and all the rest were additional amounts of money! Service depended on time of day and staff restaurant etc. but it wasn’t great. We had to constantly chase people down  [... read more]for glasses cutlery at tables etc. Drinks also depended on who served you but honestly many were watered down and I felt like I was just drinking sugar water at times. Loaded with spring break Americans at the Bavaro palace. We did walk back and forth to the Bavaro beach hotel quite easily though. We felt like the buffet and drinks were better there. Food was the biggest disappointment overall and not at all comparable to the hotel I stayed at in Punta Cana 2020. The restaurants were just okay. Perhaps this is the reality now at resorts? ? Having said all this, we had amazing weather and loved the walks on the beach and the upgraded room!!!

Riu Republica: Enjoyable vacation!

The beach was amazing. Very large and nice to walk on. The resort is huge. During the day, the entertainment only went to one pool so it wasn’t as engaging as other Riu resorts, but the staff were very friendly. There was great entertainment and it’s a good party resort. However if you’re not interested in partying, there are a lot of spots that are quiet and relaxing. Our room air conditioning wasn’t working when we got there. Restaurant staff was great and waiters were really kind and helpful. Overall a kind, helpful resort that is good for all kinds of purposes. I only wish the entertainment team was larger since the resort is so large. Also they didn’t follow the timeline of the events listed on the Riu app during the day, so having the Riu app wasn’t helpful.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Average resort!

Beach : Great! Food: Mediocre - husband got salmonella! Service : Good at the A la carte restaurants, otherwise poor. Room : Family suite was great (size wise) but moldy smell and old (for example the headboard was moldy and extremely dirty). Waterpark : half of it was closed down for repairs Overall good value for what we paid for I guess… but I wouldn’t recommend it!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Great time

Bahia principe aquarium was a perfect get away The entertainment team had us having fun day and night we loved the night time shows around the pool Rooms spotless, get a pool side The buffet was very good hit and miss with your staff that brought you your water wine juice some were fun and some completely ignored you. Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful Resort

This place was absolutely gorgeous. It was so cool to wake up to peacocks in the garden, and enjoy the walk between the lobby and beach. The reason I am giving this place a 4 instead of 5 is that we found the quality of food and the service from staff a little inconsistent. We came in a group of 3 families, and 2 out of the 3 of us did not initially have the rooms we reserved available. This was corrected, but not until late into the second evening for the one room. I wouldn't have confidence knowing I'd get the correct room if I went back there. As for food, you could always find something delicious to eat, but you couldn't necessarily trust that one food, for instance the beans, would taste as delicious from one day to the next. Every meal was an adventure to find what was good that day, which we weren't upset about, but it should be a consideration if you are a fussy eater. Most of the staff were amazing here, however, at times, there were staff that made it clear we were more of a bother to them. It made it frustrating when we had to stand in line daily to get reservations at the restaurants, and we seemed to get different reasons and answers daily. These are small inconveniences, and if you can deal with that, I recommend this place for the value and absolute gorgeous grounds.

TRS Turquesa: Fantastic Resort

Everything was amazing. The whole resort was very clean and very well maintained. Our room was big. comfortable and the mini bar was restocked daily. The food, drinks, entertainment and beach were beyond our expectations.

Impressive Premium Punta Cana: Good, Bad and Bad

Lets begin by confirming what a lot of other reviews have said. This is not a 4.5 star resort. The resort is getting a little long in the tooth but it is very clean and very well taken care of. The grounds and gardening were top notch. It was nice to just walk around and enjoy the grounds themselves. The location is close to the airport and sits right on a very well taken care of beautiful part of El Cortecito Beach. There was virtually no seaweed, it was always cleaned. The only time the premiu [... read more]m beach was dirty was when ignorant tourists left their garbage for the diligent staff to clean. We had no problems with check in other than being assigned to a construction view room in an old building (28). Stay away from this building. Our thermostat, television and toilet were broken. The ceiling fan was very noisy and looked like is was about to fall off. We were also missing a chair inside and out as well as drinking glasses. Overall, these rooms are old, tired and ultimately, not the Tropical View room we paid for. After a little visit to the front desk the next morning (with some prodding) they were able to provide us with the premium tropical view we had paid for but not until the following day (day 3 of our vacation). Paying extra as a premium guest this never should have been an issue. We were set up in building 23 which was great and directly connected to the premium lounge and buffet. The service at the premium buffet was exceptional. There was an issue we had with a particular lady at reception who's name began with an "F" who wears glasses so she can look down her nose at you. She was absolutely terrible, I don't think I saw her smile once during our whole vacation and we dreaded having to deal with her. As forward facing staff she needs to be trained on customer service. We were set up with our Butler Ricardo on day one who was REALLY good at his job. He helped us with one thing or another, every day. Every morning he contacted us to see if we needed anything and he let us know when he was leaving every night and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay great. He was even there for us if we needed him late at night. For my Wife's Birthday he did an amazing job making our room extra special. She was very happy. I am 100% sure our stay would have been vastly different had we not had Ricardo. He is an asset to this hotel. Service resort wide was really good and this made up for most of the other shortcomings. The spa staff were really really great as well. My wife said that Martha provided the BEST massage she has ever had. Now the food... if you enjoy food in any way shape or form this resort is not for you. While there was lots of food to eat it was almost never hot. The main buffet had the best food which is kind of sad considering all of the other specialty restaurants on site. The opportunity was there to provide great food but it was never executed. I will also, unfortunately have to add myself to the list of people who got food poisoning from the Italian restaurant. This particular brand of food poisoning had me out of commission for 3 days. Beyond those 3 days I was VERY tentative to eat any other food. It was shameful that this food was served to me and all of the others who got sick. I lost 3 full days of my hard earned vacation. If the hotel itself gets this far into my review please note that I am a classically trained chef who could help you out with all of your food issues. Please also note if you are a coffee lover you will be hard pressed to find any, other than at breakfast. No coffee or tea after any meal. Otherwise you'd have to walk all the way over the the Cafe located off the main lobby. Please also note it closes at 10pm. I also have to mention that our last day was a bit of a $hit show. If you have a late afternoon or evening flight and want to make the most of your last day, you can make a reservation for a changeroom at the spa for $10.00 each which includes, shower, locker, bathroom and changeroom. Check out is at 11am - no exceptions and they require that you hand it your towel cards at that time and will not let you hand them in before you leave the hotel at the end of the day. Despite the fact that we paid thousands of dollars for our trip, they were very concerned that we were going to take their cheap towels with us or worse off, their towel cards! Imagine how amazed my family and friends would have been to see the cheap ass towels I brought home with me from Dominican or an incredible towel card. I mean come on, they wanted me to put a $60.00 deposit on the towels we were going to be using for an additional 2 hours. I spent over an hour and a half, on my last day, walking from the beach to the front desk numerous times to deal with TOWELS. We decided to try something other than a Dreams resort with this one but have learned the hard way that we should have stayed with Dreams. This resort could learn a lot from the Dreams chain. All in all we would not go back to this resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Amazing destination

The resort was what we wanted for a family trip and our kids had fun. From the meals to the water park. The kids activities and the castle display. Everything was just perfect for the whole trip. Cheers

Secrets Tides Punta Cana: Wonderful staff!

All of the staff couldn’t have been more helpful, accommodating and welcoming. Everyone was incredibly cheerful. The resort is gorgeous, brand new and state of the art. Because the resort is brand new it was only about 1/3 full and they seemed to have as many staff as guests. Unfortunately, they have a few wrinkles to iron out. Many of the staff don’t speak English which makes it quite difficult to communicate with them. The furniture in the lobby area is almost unusable, the seating is so deep  [... read more]that it forces you to sit on the front edge of the sofas and you can’t lean back. A very poor design. Bartenders in the lobby bar are not trained and had difficulty preparing cocktails. Pool temperature was too cool to enjoy and the pool area needs more shady areas. Buffet food was very good, well prepared, fresh and a good variety. We even had half lobsters one evening at the buffet! The staff in the buffet need more training. We would have to ask repeatedly (usually at least 4 times) for cappuccinos or mimosas every morning before receiving them. It seems as if the staff offload to another staff member and another without anyone following through in the order. Both the Italian and Mexican restaurants were very good. Unfortunately, the Seaside Grill and Oceana were extremely poor. My husband suffered with food poisoning for 36 hours after eating at the Oceana and our steaks from the Seaside Grill were well over cooked while the potato and veggies on the plate were cold. Not edible! Service was very poor in both of these restaurants. The main courses were served on top of the dirty appetizer dishes on the table and wine was poured reaching in front of each of us. Definitely staff require more fine dining training if they want to call themselves a 5* resort. This resort has a lot of potential with some tweaking in certain areas and additional training.

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Beautiful Resort

Nothing bad to say about this resort --- staff very friendly; food excellent ( if you dislike the food here, then you have a problem ); rooms clean and bar fridge replenished daily; disregard the negative reviews;; this was our second time at this resort in as many years --- would definitely go back again;; can't go wrong with a Riu resort...only negative I have to say has nothing to do with the resort --- main pool --- people sitting on the stairs to pool entrance and many do not move and al [... read more]so this is a pool and not a football field--lots of younger people throwing balls and some hitting people---they should put a stop to this.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Absolutely a Beautiful resort

The grounds were absoltely amazing. Food was awesome. Rooms georgous, very comfortable beds. Showers are extremely slippery, no hand bars for support while showering. This is a huge resort, not recommended for anyone with mobility issues. A lot of walking. The trains that pick you up to take you throughout the resort are not very unreliable, therefore lots of walking to get to the buffet, your room, the pool and beach etc.

Vista Sol Punta Cana: Chewed alive by bed bugs and bitch slapped at Vista Sol

My husband and I loved many things about the resort, the beach is beautiful. The grounds are immaculate . We enjoyed all the animals. Our Junior suite was very spacious and we enjoyed the beautiful view from our balcony. The not so desirable qualities of Vista Sol resort. We found some but not all staff rude. Which I feel is poor management there should be more supervision to see what areas are having the problems. No service at the buffet. Long coffee and juice lineups. Our bed in our Junior Suite was large but so hard and uncomfortable with 2 sheets and a worn out thin blanket. The towels were rough and worn out. The fridge didnt keep our beverages cold. The air conditioning didnt seem to be working properly. The worst part is which we thought were mosquito bites were actually bed bug bites. I went to my physician the day after I returned home and he confirmed bed bug bites. My husband and I had over 100 bites between us. I seen many other people on the resort with the same bites! Sorry to say they are not mosquitoes! The resort has so many pros but the cons outweigh and win. We wont be returning to Vista Sol

Secrets Tides Punta Cana: Amazing New Resort

This new resort by Secrets is exquisite. The rooms were well appointed. Housekeeping was excellent. Lots of room around the pools with plenty of loungers in sun and shade. Beach was beautiful with lots of seating. Great expanse of sand. Food was excellent from the buffet to the a la cartes. Entertainment was great with lots of variety. Plenty to do during the day and evening.

Princess Family Club Bavaro: Good resort - especially for the price

We stayed in the family club. Rooms were cute (especially bunk beds for kids) but a little small. Food was generally quite good. Not Mexico but much much better than Cuba. Beach and ocean were amazing- clear water and lots of waves. Entertainment was lacking if like that sort of thing. Overall good resort for what we paid.

HM Bavaro Beach: Wonderful resort

We enjoyed this smaller resort so much. It was very clean and well kept. We had a lovely area with nice soft, clean loungers to lay on with a sun protector over us. Great service all over the resort. The staff was excellent! We were upgraded to an ocean front room which was such a great surprise. Breakfast was good every morning. Some mornings they were abit behind getting more food out. Great resort.

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Amazing resort and location, but some areas can be improved

Close to the Punta Cana airport, 25 minutes, amazing location on Bavaro beach with white sand but seaweed can be cleaned up earlier in the morning. Rooms and venues are stunning and very eco friendly but they need to work on their options for people with allergies. Being Celiac, we been to many locations that really go over and above with Gluten Free options and labelling of options on their menus and buffets. They had only one option for Gluten Free bread which was a large sub size bun, and  [... read more]the few items that showed Allergens at the buffet did not match the items below? They do ask if you have any allegies at the restaurants and mark it off on a small little piece of paper but when you sit down to order the staff would see the small paper and many times completely disregarded until I would push it in front of them, and felt that the staff did not take it seriously, which it is. Don't get me wrong, the food was amazing, but I had to stick to items with no sauces and more on the plain side just to be safe. I asked frequently, but only had a few limited GF dessert options. Mainly fresh fruit, which was amazing though. We paid for Adults only Reserve Swim up and two times we came back from golfing to find people in our reserved chairs. It wasn't their fault as there are no signs to indicate "reserved". Definitely a 5* high end resort but little changes can make it even better!!!

Iberostar Waves Dominicana: Amazing Resort

1 - Great choice of restaurants 2 - 3 pools (deep one, walkable one and a kiddie pool 3 - Nice clean beach The location is perfect if you like long walks along the beach. The only thing I didn't like is you couldn't put the room access cards anywhere near your cell phone or it would get demagnetized. Free WiFi is available throughout the resort.

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: We love the Majestic

This was our 4th visit to the Majestic Resort; we have stayed twice at the Elegance, once at the Colonial and once at the Mirage. They are all great. Our most recent visit was to the Elegance and the facility, staff and rooms are great. Food is good and it's fairly close to the airport so no long bus ride to and from the resort. The ocean is pretty wavy but the beaches are well kept. This will continue to be our go to resort in the Caribbean!
