Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: very nice, not 5 stars, but 41/2

Rented superior penthouse which was worth the extra price.The hotel was very nice. The staff was excellent. The food was excellent but very hot in the buffet area because A.C. not adequate. Unfortunately, the hotel was not built to receive as many people for the entertainment space it has. No chairs at the pools by 8:00 am., beach umbrellas by 9:00 am. Spa excellent. Problems with one of the A.C. in my room for 5 days, but compensate with 2 free 1 hour spas which was very appreciated and more th [... read more]an fair. Fuentos was an excellent butler and tried his best when I had problems. Room service was amazing, food was excellent, arrived hot and always within 1/2 hr. after placing order. Service at the bars was always done with a smile, quickly and were very polite. Service at the beach was hit and miss most of the time. They would come 4 times in 20 mins. then nobody for 1-2 hrs. That is why I say it is 4.5 stars and not 5 as they advertise it. This is my 12th time in 4 different Bahia's.

Riu Cancun: Worst experience ever had with hotel and agency

Hotel was overbooked and options provided were not satisfied at all, customer service was worst i have experienced. Never book again and none of my freinds and family will consider booking here again.

Crown Paradise Club: Good

It was good overall. Some staff were excellent. Some, not so much. Al a cart meals were really good. Buffet food was pretty good. Had to pay for wifi which was absolutely ridiculous. Was expensive as well.

Barcelo Karmina: Fabulous resort !!

Loved the Barceló Karmina Palace in Manzanillo, MX. It didn't feel like Mexico at all, with all the lush greenery that surrounded the area. The hillside housing reminded me of Santorini, Greece with the exclusion of blue roofs. The amenities that this resort provided is suitable for couples, or families. The room I stayed in was the nicest ever in Mexico, it was the junior suite and I absolutely loved the bathroom. Liked the fact that it had an adult "only" pool. Irregardless, if you needed to get away from the noise of the children, there are a variety of areas in which to do so. Food selections were outstanding, and there was never a time frame in which there was nothing available to eat. Although, I am not too sure about the availability after midnight. My absolute FAVORITE was the Mexican ala carte restaurant which overlooked the roar of the ocean, it was so relaxing and breath taking. Not only that, but they offered a private lobster dinner on a beach embankment under a gazebo, which looked amazing. I did not experience this, but will definitely be sure to on my next visit. I cannot attest for the party atmosphere that Manzanillo has to offer (as I did not go to town on the pub crawl) but they do have a disco, as well as a piano bar area which was very entertaining. My overall opinion is this is a higher end resort with an affordable price, and I would HIGHLY recommend it.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Beautiful resort, good food, and great service

The Valentine is a honeymooner/anniversary resort with many of the guests being repeat guests. The resort has a loyalty program which we did not check out, because even though the resort was great,we do not intend to go back. I believe this resort to be overrated and over priced. The service was fantastic, but at no point did we feel "special" on our honeymoon. This could be due to the fact that there are SO many other honeymooners at the resort. We chose not to fight for or save pool chairs because the fact that people did this, aggravated us. The resort needs to enforce the "no saving policy". Food was delicious mostly, however after 9 days the breakfast and lunch buffets do get a bit boring. There was often a wait to be seated in the almost empty restaurant at breakfast. The food was great at most of the a la carte restaurants for dinner, with the exception of the "Mar" restaurant which was more casual and the tuna missed the mark for me. If you like Sushi, get seated at the sushi bar at Ginger. We visited this place three times and it was amazing! The drinks were so plentiful, I felt almost out of place when I said no to an alcoholic beverage at the end of our trip. This was reflected in the rowdy and rude condition of all the guests (old and young alike) each afternoon at the pool. This was a complete turn off for us on our honeymoon and I believe ruined my attitude on this resort. The beach and ocean are wonderful. No complaints there. The room was fine; we paid for the "cheapest" one so we didn't expect a lot. It did exceed our expectations. The housekeeping staff was great and our mini bar was restocked daily. We do suspect though that a pair of earrings "went missing" from our room, but it is not something we could prove. I recommend keeping absolutely everything locked in the room safe, which I would do at any hotel. The resort is beautiful, decent food and probably the best service I have had at any resort. Also, I felt like the service was SO good that others took advantage of this and tipped to get whatever they wanted. This makes me very sad, as the people working on the resort work unbelievably hard and deserve better treatment. So, overall we enjoyed the hotel, but it was not the vibe we were looking for. That is not to say others won't enjoy it immensely.

Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Amazing staff

This was our 3rd time in the Riviera Maya. We usually stay at bigger resorts in the Tulum area, but wanted to try something different. The airport transfer was nice and quick. The grounds were beautiful and we loved that we didn't have to walk far to get to anything. The small resort meant that we got to know the staff better. We loved Moises in the Market buffet. Breakfast will never be the same without him. Also Nancy's smiling face as she greeted us. We loved the food and location of the Blue [... read more] Water Grill. Mauricio was amazing. Ask him for a coconut mojito. The Preferred club was worth it. Having wi-if throughout the resort and our own private adult pool was lovely. Booking an ocean view room online doesn't seem to be an option. The resort was quite full while we were there, so we could upgrade at a price. There is a little bargaining room, but the upgrade price seemed high. That being said, we did splurge and were so happy we did. You truly are almost at the ocean. We used our balcony a lot. A few downsides....really expensive to get out of the resort. They should offer a shuttle to the highway to cut down on the taxi costs. They also concentrate on weddings. We saw 3 a day. In s small resort that is a lot. At night there wasn't any peaceful place to hang out, although they were shut down by 11:00. Lots of talk about the seaweed on the beach. They work so hard to get rid of it. The beaches further down are nicer. We did swim, but beach walking was a challenge.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Super Nice Resort with Amazing service

Large resort but well laid out. Concierge service was impeccable Non-Member rooms were nice but the member rooms were much better. Internet access is spotty. Food was excellent except for French Resto

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Awesome Resort

Beautiful location, great staff and lovely resort. Very relaxing quiet small resort. Perfect! The food was plentiful and really good at the buffet. The restaurant were awesome too. The beach was really nice but there was a lot of seaweed washed up on the shore when we were there. We were told not the norm. Overall loved the resort will definitely go back.

Iberostar Waves Tucan: Amazing Vacation

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Iberostar Quetzal. The staff were friendly, our room was spotless, meals were good and the natural wildlife around the hotel made this hotel a very special one. The pools, beachside facilities and restaurants were lovely. The hotel was also within walking distance of Playa del Carmen and very close to a Starbucks. We were very happy with our stay here.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Fantastic vacation!

This hotel was absolutely amazing from the time we stepped into the front foyer until the time we left. From the immaculate landscaping to the wild life that was made completely a part of the experience. It was incredibly clean, the service was outstanding, never once feeling the pressure to tip and always getting the best they had to offer. Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Everything excellent except the beach!

EXCELLENT, food, service, cleanliness, lobby, ability to go to other three resorts (Akumal, Tulum and Coba) GOOD, rooms AVERAGE, the beach and all the pools are shallow (max 5 feet). I like diving, but you cannot do it here. I suggest you take a taxi for full day (1500 pesos), go to Tulum ruins, swim in the beaytiful wavy beach (2-3 hours) and then go to cenotes Sac Actun (1.5 hours) in the morning and after lunch (you can come back to the resort) go to Akumal beach and Playa del Carmen.

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: nice resort

Our vacation to Secret Capri was very nice. The rooms are ok but we ended up with two double beds and had to have them pushed together. We couldn't enjoy the beach since the red flag was out and the beach has been washed away due to the hurricane. Food and staff were amazing!! We went to visit a sister resort and we were charge $100 US for a taxi. The resort was only 8 miles down the road. We mentioned this to the hotel staff but they didn't seem concerned. Iberostar Waves Cozumel: superb resort

This resort was very well maintained, staff was outstanding, clean, and our needs were exceeded. Great place to stay. The snorkeling was amazing and our guides for that excursion were fantastic. Pool was in great condition and Beach was good as well. Of course this is a coral beach area so water shoes are a good idea. Knowing that is important.

Friendly Fun Vallarta: tolerable

this was our second stay at this resort. However was hoping that from the last time we were there in 2014 that they would of changed the buffet. same food everyday. nothing really changed. was disappointed as well that they kicked us out of our room on day of departure early 12 noon. when our bus did not pick us up until 5 p.m. that same evening. so basically we had to hang around the resort or go downtown. when we could of relaxed in our hotel room in needed to be. Grand Park Royal Cozumel: Amazing Resort

The hotel was beautiful and very clean. The service was great, all employees very friendly. The food was great and there was always something to eat during the day/night. The location of the resort was great, very close to the airport as well as downtown. Lots of activities to do on the resort as well as nearby. Would definitely travel back again.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: great vacation

upon arrival the resort was very clean and staff were very pleasant. our room was not what we expected and staff made sure that we got what we requested without a hassle. beach was awesome and snorkeling amazing. As for food it was more than satisfactory and my wife is picky. this is not a party place, it for relaxation by far. would return without a problem.

Catalonia Yucatan: Catalonia Yucatan - well worth it

Customer service, food + bars all A+ The beach had lots of washed up seaweed, but the groundskeepers worked diligently to clean this up. Having been to this resort previously we knew what to expect, however, this trip surpassed our expectations. We are looking forward to returning to the Catalonia!

Riu Santa Fe: Relaxing Week

Room- Clean, great shower, well stocked, bar in the room but it was all Tequila no other variety, yes one says Vodka but it is not Vodka it is Tequila. They all had the same smell and same taste. No coffee machine in your room, would be nice if they would put them in the rooms. Beds are not too bad but not the greatest. We stayed in Building 3 facing the pool. I like to be by the pool area and this was central to lobby, entertainment and meal buildings. If you want to be closer to the "party" th [... read more]en Building 7 and the pools there are more active. This is a very family friendly resort so if you are looking for a just adults not the place for you. Try and not go around spring break if you are not looking for rowdy teenagers and young adults. For me none of that matters I enjoy being around people and noise does not bother me if I needed to get away from it there were other spots on the resort to be. Some people may find this resort too big and it is a big resort so if you do not like to walk a lot or can not walk a lot this is not the resort for you as there is no trolley it is all walking. Food- lots of choices in the buffet, I did not find the food that bad for a resort, remember this is a resort not a personal chef. The reservation restaurants lack choice and lack taste. I have only ever found one that I have ever liked in all the resorts I have stayed in. I do not feel they are good at all here. Evening Entertainment - Not bad the Michael Jackson show was good, sound system could be better for the people in the back. Staff - All the staff were great there I never had an issue ever. Remember there are many, many others staying there you are not the only one, they are getting asked for things all the time and it might not come to you at the snap of a finger but they do not forget. This is an average resort and it was a great deal at the time , There does seem to be a lot of young adults that frequent here and have little to no respect for their surroundings or others. I had the privilege of meeting many that were not that way but there were still too many that were beyond rude and disrespectful. The Beach - You can not swim in the ocean, biggest disappointment for me, had a great time but can say that I will not be back for this reason, I love the ocean and this beach lacks luster barely any chairs, no shade, no canopies, full of vendors waiting for you to cross that rope to chase after you. Although a very stern no thank you does stop them, and you can not swim in the ocean due to the under tow. I tried and I can swim not worth the risk as it is very strong and will keep you under for too long. The only place for WIFI without paying for it was in the lobby area and even then you got booted off all the time because of the amount of others on. Now being away should not be a big deal but if you have family at home you are trying to check in with you may be interested in this fact

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Nice Resort - very Big area an long way to beach!

Could be a little cleaner around the grounds.....Rooms very clean and well kept. Great Buffett area the al a carte Restaurants not so good! No walk into area from beach way to rocky...needs some definite improvement in that area>

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Absolutely Perfect Resort

A stunning resort, very lush, amazing food and we were treated like we were family. Rooms were large, clean and very luxurious. Another plus was that the resort is only 20 minutes from the Cancun airport. We can't say enough about this resort. Would go back for sure.
