Riu Palace Las Americas: Best Service I Ever Had: but won't return

We had a really nice week at this resort. Service and Food was 10/10. The resort is extremely well-staffed and very very clean!!!!! Our housekeeping service was exceptional as well. Why I won't go back: 1) Concrete-Jungle. Just not my cup of tea. Missed all of the beautiful vegetation and local critters that you see in places like the Dominican. 2) Insufficient Air Conditioning: We literally slept in wet/damp sheets and wet pillows for the week. I cannot do this again.

Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres: Beautiful Resort

We just came back from spending a week at the Catalonia in Costa Mujeres. Overall, our stay was great, super relaxing. The property is beautiful and well taken care of. The resort is a beautiful blend of modern architecture and lush landscape. We did book the privileged suite which gave us a couple of parks the first being you’re on the top floor with a very large balcony, including a shower and tons of seating. With booking the privileged suite you get access to the beloved restaurant that is only for those guests. The there was good. The menus are not huge, but there are always options to pick from. The rest of the à la carte restaurants in the resort or good I wouldn’t say fantastic. The Teppanyki table was our favourite dinner we had at the resort. The buffet was always good with quite a bit of variety. We ate all of our breakfast there and our lunches there as there were just more options for me. My biggest complaint of the entire trip would be the lack of gluten-free options that were either not clearly marked or nonexistent, especially when it came to desserts not a single pastry cookie or any sweet was available gluten-free. The only desserts were ice cream and sorbet’s and at the Beloved restaurant, I was able to get a delicious Crème brûlée. They did have a gluten-free bread available that was actually quite good but things definitely need to be better marked. If you are full celiac, I feel like you would have difficulties. That being said, I didn’t starve. But I have had better options at other all inclusives. The pools are some of the cleanest I have seen at an all-inclusive resort. I usually never swim in them, but went in several times, the beach is more of our thing. The beach is beautiful, white sand, and not too much seaweed, and it kept pretty clean by the machine that comes by. As far as the water goes, it was a little rough for my liking but it was beautiful and you could walk forever in either direction as the beach is long. We enjoyed the beach more on our excursion to Isla Mujeres. Getting chairs on the beach was not too difficult, but we did have a privileged area with our booking that is roped off. I keep in mind the resort was not at full capacity. I feel like it would be more difficult if the resort was fully booked. The pool area was definitely busier and most loungers were taken up early in the morning. There’s lots of bar options down at the beach plus they serve drinks right to your lounger as well, which is always great. Check in and check out was probably one of the quickest and smoothest we’ve ever experienced at an all inclusive resort. And final note would be the staff, they work super hard and we’re extremely kind in all aspects. Always going the extra mile for anything you ask for. Although tipping is never required we always do at all inclusives. These people work extremely hard long days and the tips are very much appreciated.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: PRETTY GOOD

This resort is beautifull. The property was clean and well kept. The staff was very helpfull and language barrier was not a big problem. Enrique from the bellboy staff was especially helpfull with all my small enquiries and he always met us with a big smile. The beach was okay with lots of rock on the adults only side but was much better on the family side. Crews worked tirelessly to keep the beach free of seaweed. Kudos to them. The food was very good. So if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation, this would fit the bill.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: The good and the bad

First the bad, the beach is just awful for swimming, not at all for children, large rocks everywhere, my 7 year old grandchild cut her foot, easy to stub toes too. We asked for a wake up call on 2 different occasions, the first time they called twenty minutes late the second time they did not call at all. Now the good, I thought the food was excellent at every restaurant we went to, the buffet could get crowded in the morning but it had so many choices of really tasty food. All and all a nice place to have a holiday unless you are strictly a beach person.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Hidden Gem

This resort is the right size for us, it isn't filled with wild parties or loud music. It was busy but we never waited for food or drink. The staff are amazing ! We had room 1002 which I think was the best view at the hotel...we lucked out...Building One is the Best. It was a very windy week with lots of seaweed but that did not put a damper on our holiday. I do wish there was some mo [... read more]re activity..eg: Bingo in the Lobby Bar or Corn Hole ,etc....my husband does not like to just lay around and always joins in the activities at the other resorts we have stayed at...my daughter did do the painting class and we listened to the music in the lobby bar each evening. We loved the restaurants which was a nice change from the Buffet. We were right at the beach close to the bar and the infinity pool so we had all we needed in our little corner.

Occidental Tucancun: Clean Place

Enjoyed our week. Rooms were very clean. Hotel very clean. Staff very friendly. Entertainment was ok. Not very exciting. The lobby music entertainment was the same every night. Same music. Didn't start until 10:15-10:25 and ended at 11:00pm. There was nothing else to do so went up to our room. Only 3 a la cartes. Mexican (didn't like), Seafood (they had a chicken dish for those who didn't eat seafood/fish) and Italian which was by far the best. Had to line up at 7:00am to book your a  [... read more]l carte. We managed eat at one every night. Buffet was ok. Not an assortment of food, but could find something to eat every day. Preferred the Seafood restaurant for breakfast and lunch as it was close to the pool. Adult pool area was nice. Always found a lounge. Didn't have to wake up at the crack of dawn to reserve one. Didn't go to the family/party pool. Ocean was very rocky. Red flag every day so didn't go in the water. Very little seaweed. Beach clean. No one bothers you on the beach. Didn't venture out of the hotel as we got there late at night. Had I'd known there was a mall across the street, I would have ventured out!

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Great Resort

Resort was very clean, felt very safe. The staff was friendly and efficient/accommodating. Enjoyed the fact that it was a non-smoking resort and there were designated areas for smoking. We had dinner at an à la carte every night. Would definitely visit there again in the future!

Viva Maya by Wyndham: Good stay

This resort has everything you need . Clean , good food , great entertainment. Rooms are lovely . Balcony are/ were a disappointment. Lots of chairs on the beach but limited shade options . Sea weed was an issue at time of year we were there beginning of April .

Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres: Beautiful Resort

The beach was very nice but not a lot of shade. The week we were there it was very windy and we couldn’t really go in the ocean because of the waves. Rooms were suites and very nice. Service was good and food was good as well. There were lots of families so I would not recommend for a couples trip.

Sandos Cancun: Sandos A Great Stay

Sandos Cancun is a small Adults Only resort and only 10 mins from the Airport. We liked that it was non smoking with designated smoking areas. Our deluxe room was spacious, comfortable king bed and very clean. Food at Zango buffet was very good and Japanese a la carte a highlight. St. Trop a la carte had lovely breakfast & lunch by the ocean. Live entertainment in Bar one so enjoyable. The resort was last renovated 20 yrs ago and needs some refurbishing. Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Great economy resort, AMAZING BEACH

I took my mom here for a late birthday gift. The property is pretty large with 5 or 6 blocks of rooms, lots of pools, a tennis court. The grounds were beautifully maintained and the entire resort was clean all the time; the staff really did a great job with that. The rooms were outdated as a lot of other people mentioned which we didn't care. We were in block 2, which was very close to the beach, but also very close to the evening entertainment and it was quite loud late in the evening. I brough [... read more]t earplugs and slept fine. One issue with our room was that the main light didn't work and 2 of the 4 outlets didn't work. We only used the room to sleep so we didn't mention anything until we left, and we worked out the outlets so it was fine. The buffet was mediocre, pretty average from my experiences. We only ate one a la carte restaurant during the 7 days were there. It was difficult to get a booking as the app wasn't working, and you had to go line up at 7:30am in one of the lobby's, which we didn't find out until the second last day. It wasn't a big deal for us as we did a few excursions which included dinner, and we went into the town of Bucerias to eat at local restaurants a couple of nights. The beach.... this was my first time on the West side of Mexico, near Puerto Vallarta and I was very happy and enjoyed every day on the beach and in the ocean. I spent time on the Pacific Coast in Canada as a kid and swam in the ocean often. I didn't find the ocean too cold, it was quite choppy and rough at times, so we just timed appropriate times to spend some time in the ocean. This is not a "party" resort, which is what we wanted. Thanks so much to Sandra who helped me figure out an appropriate location and resort which would suit my needs!!

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Amazing resort

It started out with a gorgeous upgrade, welcoming staff and beautiful weather! Our vacation at Paradisus la Perla was top notch!! Food was 5/5 and the cleanliness of the resort and friendly mannerisms of the staff was excelled !!

Riu Palace Kukulkan: Fantastic Resort

The hotel was wonderful and we would definitely return. Grounds were beautiful, the staff were awesome and everything was spotless. Had breakfast in the Elite restaurant each morning, Karen, Ana B & Jasmine were wonderful. Lunch at Buffet (few times at Pepe’s) and then went to restaurants for dinner, we never booked and always were able to walk in. Food was great. The bathrooms close to the pools were cleaned constantly, Rebecca and Maria did a great job. Rubi served us at the pool, she [... read more] was so friendly and always so cheerfull. The Lobby bar was great place to have a before and after dinner drink. They had special drinks every night. Some other staff who should be named are Efrain, Dennis & Ivan, along with the entertainment staff Maya, Alma and Ophelia (hope I spelt correctly) There were always loungers available beside pools and at the beach.

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Very enjoyable stay

The whole place was so well kept. The grounds were beautiful, right in the jungle with tons of wildlife. Food was some of the best we’ve had and the service was really good. Beach was decent but it got busy. Diving was right next door, super dive team and well priced. The only minor niggle was the pressure to hear the vacation club presentation. Other than that, it was a fabulous visit & we definitely recommend it.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Wondering Relaxing Resort!

Great vacation end of March. The resort was full but never seemed crowded. We were in bld 2 not renovated but it was the perfect location, central to everything you need, stunning view and after the live music shuts down nightly it’s very quiet to sleep. Although our room was very dated, i would still pick it over the others that were farther away. This was the cleanest resort we’ve been to, the staff does a fantastic job! We saw staff cleaning the pool but our only negative on cleanliness would be that the pool just never seemed cleaned even first thing ,it could use more attention and it wasn’t bc of tree debris. Although the beach is close by, no Loungers near the pool was a miss for us. Often our group would be in the pool but we couldn’t get out and dry off close by and still socialize. Cabanas were further back and always wet, but still appreciated having them. Towels were plentiful which was great and no card required to check them out. Pool was brand new and still great to relax in, loved the 3 whirlpools at one end. Water yoga was fun to do, great instructors. The beach was great to lay at, lots of loungers and tons of snorkeling! The buffet had lots of choices. The service there was a bit inconsistent, most times we were well waited on, on occasion we’d be half done or more with no water or plates cleared. The omelette lady was so pleasant and fast but she needs to turn the grill down as most days they were overdone. Restaurants we tried Brazilian, French and Mexican were all fantastic, top notch food and service. Wish they had entertainment at night repeated like dancing more than once a week, we missed it bc of travel times. It was a long ways from Cancun airport but is definitely a great resort one we’ll keep in mind to return to!

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Good but not 5 star

For the most part the hotel is very good. Food not up to the standards of Riu Palace PV. Towel guy kept.taking towels even while.l swimming in pool. No toiletries at front desk for those that loose luggage. Safe locked due to low battery and took hours to get someone to open it.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Family Vacation

The resort is large with lots of pools and separate kids water park type pools, the grounds are clean and well kept. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The food at the buffet was very good (for a buffet) and the food at the ala cart restaurant's were excellent. The rooms were decent, clean and generally in good condition except for some of the furniture, it was a little wore out. This was the first trip for our grandchild and we had a great time. Royal Solaris: If you are a Foodie this resort is not for you!

Rating: 3 stars (despite being advertised as a 4-star hotel) From the moment I checked in I was disappointed! Yes I know it is a 4 rated hotel and I have learned my lesson, nothing less than a 5 star from now on. I would honestly rate this hotel 3 star. Room: My garden view was actually of a pool and a clay tile roof with garbage and this made the deck unusable which is a huge disappointment. The shower didn't drain so you stood in water the whole time, the sink took minutes to drain and [... read more] the toilet would randomly bubble and the water was brown. I asked for a room change and no luck they were "full", which is a lie as it was not full at all. I kept calling to have it fixed but it never was, after my 3rd call, I did see dirt marks on the floor so someone did try but it was never resolved. Food: If you a foodie, this is not the resort for you. I honestly did not have one meal I was thinking "yum I would have that again". Each a la carte restaurant was awful: risotto was bad, sashimi tuna smelled and tasted off, Mexican food was not great. The lunch grill was a long wait as they only had one staff member and guests could not self-serve which was odd. The pizza place line was also long but this one I get as they made them to order. Entertainment: Well, 4 star do I need to say more.... I will say the resort was clean (except the lounge chairs that were covered in bird crap and could be wiped down each morning by the staff), the beds were comfortable and the AC worked perfectly. For the price, the value was just not there for me.

Hilton Cancun: Overall, nice stay and would come back

Stayed here for 7 nights with wife and toddler. Resort is starting to show some signs of wear but overall still nice. Splash pad tiling is quite rough so would recommend water shoes for kids. Do not reserve restaurants on the app since it only allows reservations one day ahead - book entire week through reservation desk instead. Beach is quite narrow and not very usable. Overall, the food, hospitality and amenities were all excellent and we would definitely consider coming back.

Occidental Cozumel: Ok resort
