Gran Muthu Imperial: Very Nice Resort

The resort was very nice for Cuba, Beach area was limited had to walk to far end of resort to access and limited area for swimming due to rocky bottom. Room was great directly on the ocean with a great view . (building #8 room 8110 located on second floor). No vodka available at bars and they would run out of wine occasionally. Also had no hamburgers at the snack bar during our stay, Arrived to resort at 1:30 Pm and our room was not available until 8:30 PM they told us the laundry was not deli [... read more]vered to resort from vendor and this was the hold up. Other than these issues our stay was good and the weather was great, always a strong breeze at the ocean which was nice to cool us off. Reserved a dinner at the lobster shack (located 5 min down the beach) through the front desk and it was very good I would recommend this if you like fresh Lobster and fish. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Buffett had enough choices of food to keep us fed, breakfast omelets were always good. We did not book any Al a cart restaurants so cannot comment on them.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Fun in the sun!

We just got home two days ago and can’t wait to get back. This is our second time at this resort, and there will definitely be a third! The staff is wonderful the hotel is clean and well-kept. The food is ample and the alcohol is free-flowing.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Awesome Beach

Why are you going to cuba? Well its not for the food! I didnt starve but i also didnt come out needing to size up on my pants. it is a beautiful island with many nice people. Everyone was happy and kind. The beach w the sand bar was lovely snd thats why you book this resort. During covid at the buffet each station had a server or 2 to fill our plates for us as to not have everyone touching the utensils Fine by me. Not a huge hold up. Most resorts to a lobster night but this one did not. You can take a 35$ can ride in an okd fashion car to Lennys for 25$ lobster shrimp and chickem i was told. or 219$of their money which is like 38$canadian for lobster st the resort. The a la cartes nothing to get upset about if you didnt get a chance to book. Small portions and nothing real amazing at them. My favorite was the bruschetta at the italian....2 small pieces and a soup at the Mediterranean i believe. As for steak if you like rare...good look probably wont happen. Just go into it knowing if your a foodie then cuba may not be the place for you. 2 nice pools one w a swim up bar and a baby waiting pool as the 3rd. Our outlets match theirs in Canada and US. Bring canadian or US money. Dont swap your cash for cuban cash as they dont use it anymore. take a little walk out of the hotel to your left and 2 resorts down (the one thats not open) they have a little market. OR take a 10 min bus ride for im not sure how much $ to the bigger market. disco is a bus ride you have to pay for which also pays for your alcohal 10 mins away. Spa people? Get a massage over looking thr beach or take a ride 10 mins away for the mud and seaweed type spa.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Great resort! Great people

We are just back from our stay at the Gran Muthu Imperial and we love it, we are planning to go again. The staff is amazing, always smiling regardless where you are: reception, bar, restaurant, etc. They are very cautious about the COVID, what surprised me the most is that at the buffet they even serving your plates, so I was not worried about my security. This hotel is fairly new, so the room are great, very comfortable bed, very clean. a plus for me was that the patio door has a screen, I was able to leave my door open at night and feel the breeze from the ocean. For Cuba, food was good, for sure you don't have the same choices as you would have in Mexico or RD, but if you don't find anything you got a problem. There is always fresh vegetables so you can do your own salad, the fish and lamb are excellent, deserts are delicious! I will go back for sure!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Relaxing Frindly Resort

Our Family had an excellent stay at the Resort. The staff was helpful,friendly and courteous. Cuba has limited resources, but we were offered the best , safe , and comfortable hospitality. We will go back.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Good Resort but not 4.5 *

Resort has one of the nicest beaches in all Cuba. Friendly Staff doing the best with what they had available to them. Hotel was obviously dealing with shortages in both staff and supplies. We have been to Cuba many times and lower our expectations accordingly. Overall would rate 3.5 of 5.

Melia Cayo Coco: Beautiful Resort !!

We were amazed at how beautiful & tranquil Melia Cayo Coco is !! As are most people we were apprehensive with "post pandemic" travel but the staff automatically put our worries to rest. Everything was clean and sanitized quite often. The rooms were beautiful and quite comfortable. The staff were amazing !! Hotel Mojito: Great resort

My husband and I stayed at the Mojito March 18-25th. We have been to this resort many times and we can’t say enough for the hard working and resilient Cubans who work here. The grounds are lovely. The food was great with a nice selection of cold cuts, cheeses, fruits and vegetables and fresh baked bread and sweet cakes daily. Covid has played a significant role in the decline of Canadian tourists so to offset costs there were many Cuban families enjoying the resort. There was a supply chain issue where there wasn’t any milk for coffee for 24 hours but not an issue for us. A Good Samaritan procured milk from another resort for the little ones.. Our room was pristine with a very comfortable bed. The housekeepers work very hard at this place and their workload is heavy. The main lounge had great drinks and nightly entertainment that was relaxing… so much talent. The pools are clean and well maintained.. The beach is pristine and the beach bar is fun.. We didn’t do the a la carts but heard from others that they were very classy and the food was wonderful. Covid protocol was in effect and all employees were masked as well as most tourists. Hand sanitizers were all over the resort. Don’t hesitate to go to the Mojito for relaxation, great food and nice hospitality. We felt very safe, people are wonderful and hopefully you will return again and again. Cuban banks don’t accept coins so please tip generously.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Amazing one-week vacation

I have been told to lower my expectations because it’s Cuba and because there is serious food shortage. Nothing of the sort happened. My vacation at Grand Muthu Imperial exceeded all my expectations. The weather and the beach were perfect. The hotel was super clean – the room, the common areas, the restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful, including the staff at the doctor’s office. The room was spacious and clean, I had an amazing view. I had a great deal and I hope that the price will not go up too much in the future so I can go back again. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I thank all the hardworking staff that made sure we spend a perfect week.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: great resort

hotel was great grounds well maintained and room accommodations excellent, as were the pools. dining was typical cuban cuisine ...amazing staff. would recommend this property for total rest and relaxation.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: lovely stay

Covid makes everything a bit tougher, but the hotel accommodated us well regardless. The food, once we got onto what we liked (ie. rice!), was fine. The rum continues to be excellant, and the weather was gorgeous. I had problems with bug bites, but the other 2 I travelled with experienced no such thing. It has one of the best beaches we've ever been on.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: What a change....

This was our 7th time to Cuba and by far the most disappointing. Where to even start. The Cuban people are usually lovely and friendly people. This was not so this time.My observation is that they appear to be short staffed or not staffing the busy areas of the resort. "Bites" is suppose to be the 24 hour snack bar. Upon arriving , our travelling companions went to try to get some food. They were met with a woman behind the counter who would not take their order. She just stared at them. T [... read more]his happened a few times during our week. It also appeared that food was being rationed. The buffet food was cold. The only choice all week at the cook station was stir fry. The al la carte's were ok. Again, short staffed. The man I booked our al la carte's with in the front lobby was rude. I asked if I could buy a bottle of wine as the room you sit in has many on display. He said that they were unable to sell any at this time. The rooms were dated and smelled of mould. Our bed had a sheet and one blanket.Our towels were not changed the whole week. There is no place to exchange your beach towel so we had damp dirty towels for the week. Our bathroom appeared to have been renovated recently and unlike many other rooms, the toilet room actually had a door! The water pressure was good and was always hot. There was not beer or soft drinks in the mini fridge all week. The pool only has a few chairs with shade. The beach is beautiful but there is definitely sand fleas. During a quick rain shower they came out and swarmed us leaving us covered for the week in bites. When it came to drinks at the bars everyday something was not available ie) no vodka, coke or tonic water. The snack bar at the beach had pizza the first 2 days which were pretty decent. The rest of the week they served soup. I feel that the pandemic and probably the crisis in Ukraine have contributed to the complaints I have made in this review. That being said, it was disappointing to spend the money and not be satisfied.

Melia Costa Rey: Good resort!

Clean room, clean dining buffet and friendly staff. Everybody was having face masks and using them all the time. Clean walking passes and all around resort. They were washing every evening around pools. Good food and plenty. Lots of fresh fruits. Wifi available free, especially around the main lobby, sometimes in the room to-depending on the position. We didn't participate at everything activities and outside excursions , so not able to comment about these.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Disappointed

Sad to write this review but the reality is that Cuba is suffering from lack of everything and it’s more than likely due to conflict in Ukraine and of course Covid. I have travelled to Cuba at least 12 times and this will probably be our last. At least 50% of staff seem very unhappy and not very friendly which is unusual so can assume something deeper is going on. Alcohol and food supplies were lacking, bugs were terrible. Cuba needs to move away from its alliance to Russia and change its political landscape.

The fabulous beach and sports facilities guarantee you will always have something to do. Great value in room quality and lovely grounds . Very clean. Caring staff. Really good service all around. Pretty good options for food / especially that the snack bar really comes through. Yes this resort is ok!!!!

Tryp Cayo Coco: Nice Resort

We enjoyed our stay for the most part at this resort. The grounds were clean and maintenance was being done. We spent most of our time at the beach which was beautiful. When we arrived, all the ala carte’s were picked for us for the week which we were happy for. We were told that the local Cubans would be coming and that it would be busy. She wasn’t kidding. The buffet was unmanageable, I have never seen anything like it. I practically got trampled in line at one point. I put my plate down and left because at that point I had already been in the line for 1/2 hr. The gentleman who was making toast on the grill had around 24 slices on it. One person wanted 12 slices and the other person wanted the other twelve and the server gave it to them. Again I put my plate down and left. Next day I went to get in line for an omelette. The person ahead of me ordered 6 omelettes, I couldn’t believe he wasn’t told that that is not acceptable. It took 1 hr for me to get one omelette. The Ala Carte was great and the service was phenomenal. Osmony was top notch as were the ladies who served drinks in the evening. It was just overwhelming and exceptionally loud. even in the ala Carte. We felt we should have been told in advance that this was going to happen, we would have never have booked at this time. We won’t be going back.

One of the biggest downfalls about the resort was the abandonce amout of mosquitoes so unfortunately being cover of in red mosquitoes bites from beginning to end of stay..the rooms maintain very well except the appearance of looks very old and outdated..example no bathrooms door..

I spent a week at this resort. It was amazing.My first time at this resort. The grounds were very clean,I have been to many places in Cuba and by my experience this was the kindest of staff.They were always there to help.They work very hard to keep there customers happy. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Memories Caribe on the beach

We had a fantastic time at this resort. This was our second time there. The beach of course is to die for. The staff are absolutely amazing. We did notice that there were Fewer choices at the Buffet. Lunch is at the beach bar, diamond club were great. The weather was fantastic and we can’t wait to go back again.
