Brisas Guardalavaca: Great Value

The hotel is nice but the rooms were really showing it’s wear as I have been here three times previously. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were cleaned to satisfaction. We found that unless you went out by 7:00 am to get a lounge chair by the ocean you were out of luck as there was not near enough of them. Found that some people at the next adjoining resort were able to walk right to our resort without being stopped and turned away after someone got up and left a chair they would take t [... read more]hem.The two pools were kept clean however the hot tub was cloudy and dirty so didn’t even go in it.The service was excellent and the food was quite good. The entertainment at night was adequate. It is a 3 1/2 star resort and you do have to realize that and expect it. Overall I would rate it 3 1/2 out of 5 as well.

Iberostar Selection Holguin: Modern resort

This resort will be very nice in a year or so. It's brand new and some things are not ready for turists. For example the beach. One is right next to the buildings 25 and 26 and faces the river with small bay where you can smell diesel fumes from sand excavation boat which floats right in front of the beach. This sand is being supplied to the next beach which is few hundred meters away. Since this beach is only partially done it was extremely crowded. Unfortunately this resort is a bit too modern for us since we prefer more Cuban authenticity and greenery. If I would not yet recommend this resort that would be for beach issue only

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Disappointed

This is about the 4th time we have been to this Resort , possibly the last .This time was disappointing . I know a lot of people don't really care for the food , but we can usually find something to eat , this time was awful , maybe the same choices every day and basically looked like leftovers , even the fruit was not good. The main lobby bar is closed ., most service are slow and the hours and times for anything isn't clear . The only thing I can say , is that, it has a beautiful beach . Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Family of 4

We stayed in the Villas with a 2 and 4 year old. The kids absolutely loved it and spent lots of time swimming in the pool at the bungalows. The villa pool was a bit run down and the one closest to the beach was too busy for our liking. Food was better than we anticipated. No problem finding something for the kida, but definitely got boring after about 5 days - very little variation at the buffet. Went to El Benny for our a la carte and it was delicious! Mostly friendly staff.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Enjoyable week in Holguin

Great vacation, nice resort. We are a family of 3, our daughter is 3.5 years old. We stayed in room 672, which wasn't too far from the pools, and the buffet/lobby. We had a superior room, which was nicely updated and had new mattresses, which were comfortable. The rooms do not have beer in the fridge, which I've never seen at an all inclusive. I've been to a half dozen all inclusive resorts in 3 countries and they always had beers in the room daily. At this resort they want you to buy bottle [... read more]s and cans of beer, only draft beer is included. We would fill a 1.5L Bubba and bring to our room, or buy a six pack at the store for $7 CUC. There is a well trodden dirt path that takes you to the buffet from the main concrete path. This path could use to be done in concrete also, because it's used daily by guests and staff. Pushing a stroller up this path was very difficult, down wasn't as bad. The food was good, although they almost never had buns for the hamburgers. They had a great variety for breakfast, lunch had less options, and supper was decent. They always had ketchup, but you may have to ask for it. The snack bar was very basic, pizza, if they have it, burgers probably without buns, and hot dogs also without buns, and they always had good ice cream. They have another restaurant near the snack bar, but it's not included, which I found odd. We had no problem with the pools (except for some missing tile), the stairs, or the beach. We found all to be nice, and adequate. The horses out front that take people on rides could have a bit more shade and water provided for them, it seems inhumane to see them hauling people around and nothing to drink. The horse, that took us for a ride, was sweating like crazy and had trouble with the hills so I hopped off to give him a break. The shows were well done, our daughter loved Toopy and Binoo, more of them would be greatly appreciated. We would recommend this resort to others, who understand the intricacies and limitations of Cuba. The staff are fantastic, always friendly and helpful. Thank you very much!

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Most Wonderful Staff

We enjoyed our stay at this resort. The staff were the nicest, most accommodating I have ever seen. The pool and beach were nice but the food was not the best. This resort is very spread out so make sure to be up for lot's of walking.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great Place to kick back.

Over all I believe this hotel is a great place. We met many fellow travelers and made some new friends. Being our 4th time we also reunited with many staff members who were as glad to see us as we were to see them. The resort is in good repair and the service is great. Looking forward to visit number 5 in the future.

Playa Costa Verde: Great First Trip To Cuba!

Upon entering the hotel, we were greeted with friendly smiles. The grounds were kept well. There was always a lot of food options for everyone. Pool was amazing & entertainment staff were great! Loved the hotel, the food, the beers and never had a complaint while staying for the 7 days.

Playa Pesquero: Wonderful vacation

The beach was wonderful! Beautifully kept grounds with birds and many flowering trees. Rooms very basic but clean with a comfortable king size bed. Check in was a little slow due to an arrival of two buses and staff not available late in the evenings. Food in the main buffet was ok We are not fussy eaters so there was always something to eat. Although the crapes were delicious. Amazing service at the main lobby bar and coffee station. Cappuccinos so so good!! Pool area was huge and [... read more] never a lack of chairs. Overall it was a terrific vacation.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Clean and confortable

Older but very nice hotel with many beaches and pools. Room was clean and confortable. Food was great with lots of variety. Nightly entertainment could be upgraded. The keyed safety deposit box could also be upgraded to the digital type. Room and safety box keys should not be tagged with the room number as this could pose a security risk.

Playa Costa Verde: Awesome resort

This hotel was over of the next one stayed at in cuba. Friendly staff and willing to help anytime. Very clean and will kept. We'r would go back anytime. We plan to return in 2020. Beaches were beautiful.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great place

This was our third trip to Club Amigo and had a great time again. Employees are very friendly and try to help you as best they can. The beach has always been our favourite part of the resort. We upgraded to a villa room after we were there the first night as they are much newer and more space.

Playa Costa Verde: Friendly and Courteous

This was not our first trip to PCV. We keep returning here because of the staff. Its like coming home! We were welcomed with the warmth of Cuban hospitality. The resort is not new, but they maintain it the best they can and the friendliness and courteous staff makes up for the fact that you stay in an older resort. The buffet offers the best variety that you can expect from Cuba and people who are not satisfied with the food obviously picked the wrong items; there is enough to choose from each d [... read more]ay; variety of meat, fruit, and veggies. Bread was not always available, but that is because all of Cuba is short of flour! Considering what is available to them, kitchen staff does an amazing job of preparing and presenting good food. We keep returning to Cuba NOT for the food, but for the people; all are eager to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Brisas Covarrubias: Amazing,clean ,quiet resort.

Whole resort is very well located and organized.Has nice garden and swimming pool.Very nice lobby/reception with near by bar. El Dorado restaurant with its crew are amazing(very clean and caring for guests,tasty food and good selection). Hotel room well cleaned and airconditined. Nice sand beach and entering into water very good.Very friendly and fast service personnel(at the bars,reception,store,beach rental equipment or/and beach towels exchange).

Playa Costa Verde: Beautiful Resort

It is a great resort. The Cubans are very friendly and trying hard to please the guests. I was very satisfied with all the services. The only complaint I have is about the noise created by the animation team and different entertainment groups. Some music groups start at breakfast and do not stop all day. People with microphones should lower the volume by at least 50% and everything would be fine.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: The Best Luxury Resort in Cuba

We have returned to this resort many times because it fits the bill for what we expect and want in a vacation resort. The grounds are impeccable and naturally beautiful. The hotel rooms are spacious and kept immaculately clean. The food offered at all the a la carte restaurants is excellent. They prepare special menu options for me because I am a vegetarian. The service is above first class. All the staff are courteous and go out of their way to make our vacation memorable. I really enjoyed the layout of the entire resort. It made for having some nice walks every day, and if you are brave you can head outside the resort in 2 different directions. All staff I found to be friendly. The pillows in the main building weren't the greatest, but that was the least of my concerns. So many people talk about how the food in Cuba isn't great. It depends on so many things. If you are looking for excellent food through the entire resort, then you better go pay for a 4.5-5 star hotel and then you won't complain. I have been to all stars in different parts of cuba and really the food varies. Overall, the food at Club Amigo was good. The best place for breakfast is Benny's, second is the 24 hr. I would stick to those two if you want a decent breakfast. Also if you have food restrictions (like gluten intolerance or something), if you speak to the right person at Benny's (and for the life of me I cant remember her name) you will be taken care of well. If you are less concerned about the food and have an attitude like mine and you want to be social and meet people, Club Amigo is a great place to go. I really like how there are people all ages from babies to people 83years old and up. Best part is everyone hangs out together. I hung out with different people all ranging from 34-83+ (I am 44) and had a blast! In my experience in cuba overall, want amazing food, go to a 4.5-5 star resort, but if you want to build memories and meet new friends and have an amazing beach with nice pools go to a 3-4 star resort. I have only been to one other 3-3.5 star resort in Cuba and my experience at Club Amigo was way better than the one I went to in Varedero. I would definitley return to Club Amigo in the future.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Loving the subtle changes.

We visited Fiesta Americana Playa Verde in Holguin January 17 to 23. This is our third visit to this hotel and first as Fiesta. We enjoyed our week very much. The overall look of the resort has not changed too much, which we appreciate. Although you can see the maintenance of the buildings and grounds has improved. New paint and signage, additional lighting and new equipment is being installed every day. To us the major was in the food offerings. The new taco restaurant was very good, but [... read more] could use more staff. We loved the seafood menu at the beach restaurant. Just a note - you will have to eat at the outside tables if you have a wet bathing suit, no coverup or shoes. Now that there is no Plus section you can visit the 2 restaurants near the Cigar bar. The food and service (as through the entire hotel) here was very good, but the noise was close to unbearable. I think the addition of fabric drapery and décor, table clothes and plants would greatly improve the situation. The beach and water was lovely. Some rocks and shells, but the water was very clear and you could avoid them. We met many of the staff that were there in 2014 and 2016. There were quite a few new employees being trained. We found everyone to be friendly and helpful. Overall a great trip and we would recommend.

Are trip was awesome lots of sun food was good room was great ppl are amazing would return in a second I spent 1 month there couldn't ask for anything more place is kept clean I would go every year ppl are great
