Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: great time!
We stayed at Grand Serenis Resort during the Easter break, 2015, and we had a great time. We are a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children, ages 7,9,11. The food was good, enjoyed the a la cartes, Japanese was our favorite! The kids enjoyed the pool more than the beach. They found it a bit rocky, but we did find a nice sandy part, and the workers worked hard to gather the seaweed. What an entertainment team! They made it really fun for everyone! The kids enjoyed the nightly entertainment, the lazy [... read more]
Grand Palladium Kantenah: Good resort for parents with young children
Huge resort, lots of walking, wonderful pool for children and excellent daycare for young ones. Lots of assorted drinks, wonderful and pleasant staff. Only downfall was the best shows were at 10pm which was way too late for us. The theater show at 9pm dragged on forever repeatedly with useless games and having the audience to clap or scream to which idiotic act was voted best of the evening. The entertainer was just killing time, talking repeadly in spanish then english. We often would just walk [... read more]
Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun: Above and Beyond!
From the moment we stepped off of the airport transfer. We were treated like royalty. The bellhop, reception, concierge, maids, gardeners, bartenders, wait staff and cooks. Top notch. Planning our trip to return in April/ 15. Grounds and beach jaw dropping. This resort might be the cleanest place ive been to. Job Well done Fiesta Americana Condesa!!! I wish they were hiring. I would love to be apart of that team in any capacity.!
Grand Palladium Kantenah: A beautiful resort staff where very friendly.
The grounds are very lush and well groomed. Public areas are kept clean and the decor in all the lobbies is beautiful. The room was kept very clean and the decor very pleasing. The dinning areas are wonderful lots to choose from the food and drinks very good.
Barcelo Gran Faro Los Cabos: Very nice!
Great place to stay! Wonderful service, beautiful large pools, good food. Entertainment was good. Only draw back was not safe to swim in ocean due to dangerous currents - had to go into Los Cabos to do this. Beautiful scenery and huge waves were amazing!
Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Good and bad
Fourth time to this resort for us as a couple , Check-in was smooth,Spent the first two nights in building #1 lots of construction in that area on the new secrets resort next door , We then upgraded to penthouse which was very nice in building #4 ,however if it rains there is no balcony coverings so prepare for wet cushions on your chairs and very slippery floors.Did not use the hot tub on the roof top but did do some star gazing which was amazing. The beds are comfortable now since the reno's.Ev [... read more]
Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Beautiful spot!
The hotel property was beautiful! We stayed in the adult only section (which I recommend) as you still have access to the entire resort but access to a different breakfast buffet (better). My main complaint would be that the staff did not enforce the no-smoking rule except for designated areas. There were signs posted everywhere but of course some people still decided to smoke right in the pool which is disgusting. Food was great, especially the French and Brazilian.
Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Amazing resort
This was a clean resort, the food was really good and the restaurants a la carte was excellent (but when they say the dress code for men are long pants, they should stick to that; no short). Nice big pool with hot tubs .Staff is really nice. The only thing for us was that there was no beach.
Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Mind blowing!
Food was great, everyone including staff was having a blast, romantic settings and fun activities, room was beautiful and resort was clean and well maintained...best resort I've ever stayed at! Highly recommended!!
Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Could be perfect with improvements
The food was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were large and beautiful. The beds were very comfy. Improvement is needed in more interactive entertainment and shade by the pool.
Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: One of the best in Mayan Riviera hands down
This hotel (Sian Ka'an) is the top echelon adults only section of the Grand Bahia Principe complex composed of 4 huge hotels and a shopping centre. It was nice to be removed from the hustle/bustle of the main resort full of kids and drunk vacationers in this secluded jungle paradise (the ONLY drawback is the distance to the beach). I have never really been impressed with resort food, but boy howdy was this good food!! Not just edible but really tasty too !! Plus you have access to ALL restauran [... read more]
Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing resort!
Hotel was a perfect size, grounds very well kept, room with king size bed had tons of space and designed well( less is more) the buffet had a great assortment for each meal and a change each day, the a la cartes were good but buffet just as good! The beach cafe food was perfect if u wanted to stay in your swimwear, the waiters/waitresses kept the tables clean at all times and no shortage of waitresses on the beach for drinks! Snorkelling was great right out from your own beach, turtles, nemo's, [... read more]
Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Fantastic time just the right balance sun & fun
From the start we knew we would love our vacation- breeze to check in with personal service, a quick walk to a Beautiful room with the walkout pool . Great buffet -swim up bar with smiling services . Restaurant all of them never disappointed us.
Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Great Resort!
Food was great at all restaurants we had a chance to try. Buffet had an awesome variety. Entertainment every night was good and we really liked that fact that it was all in the open air areas where you could watch from the al a carte restaurants or from the comfort of your room if you had a room in the main building facing the pool/ocean. Resort was really clean for the most part, but there are still some small glitches with a new building which are being sorted out. Beach was not swimmable due [... read more]
Secrets Huatulco: Stayed at many hotels.......this one ROCKS
The resort was beautiful, staff went above and beyond...Rooms were awesome!, All rooms were oceanfront. Very relaxed hotel to be staying at . Total enjoyment. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to experience this resort!
Grand Palladium Vallarta: Very Kid Friendly
I travelled with my 20 month old son by myself from Vancouver and met my sister (3 kids) and parents at this resort. It was very kid friendly with a 16" pool with slides for kids and a zoo onsite (monkeys, rabbits, parrots, turtles, etc.) my son wanted to see a couple times a day! The beach was a little tricky to swim with little ones but fine for looking for shells and putting feet in the ocean. There was surfing and boogie boarding right from the beach. The resort layout is built into the hill [... read more]
Secrets Huatulco: Pretty much paradise!
We travelled to Secrets Huatulco from April 11-18, 2015. We arrived and were treated to cool towels to freshen up and a nice cold drink. I would say that their check in process may need to be re-vamped but alas we had arrived. Our room was on the second floor and had a great view of the ocean. The room was exceptionally clean and very spacious. The room amenities were great even without opting for the preferred guest package. The large rain-head shower was great with the sliding wall to have a [... read more]
Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Note Carefully the Pictures of this Resort
Everything is average here. The outstanding feature is there is NO shade around the 3 pools or on the beach. Whatever cover there is, does not protect from the sun. Too bad, because the breeze from the ocean is wonderful. The weather is clear, sunny and hot. Again, not comfortable under the blazing sun--unless of course you can take it.
Secrets The Vine Cancun: The vine is always wonderful
Great.... Second time here first was better but all and all still great place to be service is great food is pretty great but not as great as first time. Will be back as staff is what makes this resort, Edgar front desk, Guisellas housekeeping.
The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: this was by far the worst place I have stayed at
Don't go here big waste of money. We experienced nothing but problems with our rooms we were three couples in same building and all of us experienced the same problems. Backed up toilets safes wouldn't open hot water in shower did work balcony was rotted and not attached to the building
