Catalonia Riviera Maya: Nice and clean resort

The staff are excellent, very beautiful and clean resort Small resort with lack of pool entertainment and music as well as nightlife Not being able to get in a la carte restaurants Eating buffet all week got old Variety of beer would be nice as they only had modelo Overall our week was great weather and service was excellent

Breathless Cancun Soul: Nice resort

The resort was nice, and as usual the staff and the people of Mexico are truly wonderful. The facilities are very nice as are the restaurants. The French was not open during our stay so I can’t comment on that. The rooms were nice and cleaning staff did a great job. Beach was nice but not private, so very busy. Save your money on booking the exhale upgrade package, approx. $800. Per room as in included vertically nothing. All in all, a nice place. Enjoyed my visit.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Great food, quiet, clean

The food was absolutely outstanding. In addition to the already good food you associate with Mexican resorts, iberostar goes the extra mile and throws in a gourmet treat every evening, such as various types of sashimi, seafood, true iberic ham etc. everything extremely fresh. Another special treat is the wildlife (flamingo, swans, turtles, fish, coati) that is truly present throughout the entire resort, including reception :-) You will not have any negative surprises, unless you are super f [... read more]ussy and try to find faults in everything, but then go to 6 stars. One aspect that I missed (e.g. compared to Bahia Tulum) is the fun and dancing every evening. They have a big hacienda that would be perfect for that. But if you want a quiet and relaxing vacation with good food and smiles around you, this is the way to go.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Amazing resort

Everything was very nice. The week that we went was very windy so we could not go to the beach and the beach and water was full of seaweed. That was the only downfall. The workers, food and drinks were amazing. The main pool was a bit dirty mostly on the sides. Not sure how often they clean it.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Fun In The Sun

This resort is huge, a little too big for our liking. The restaurants are very nice and the food quality was excellent, not so much in the buffets. Same food everyday and every night in the buffets and selection wasn't the best. We did pay $5.00 each and enjoyed the buffet at the Barcelo Palace and found that buffet to be excellent. Way more choices and the quality of items were suburb. Lots of people smoking in and around the pool which we found very disturbing and rude. I wish that ther [... read more]e would have been a designated smoking area so that we did not have to be subjected to the smoking. The rooms were decent and the housekeeping staff worked hard to keep them neat and tidy. All of the staff were outgoing and were very pleasant. Monica was amazing, our favourite employee.

Grand Sunset Princess: Awesome Resort

Beautiful resort, great food, clean rooms, friendly staff. Amazing, relaxing vacation. Yolanda in the sports bar made every visit there so much fun. Her huge smile as soon as she saw us made us feel so welcome. The natural conservation areas impressed us, as most places pave over everything. Would definitely stay here again.

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: Wouldn't return

Hotel grounds were well maintained. Beach could have been cleaned up a bit, beach chairs and tables quite dirty. Room were dated, but clean. Not enough storage for clothes, I don't like to live out of my suitcase! Adult pool was very nice but was too loud. Most adult pools have a quiet area this one did not. Maintenance in public washrooms is lacking, many toilet and sinks not working. Food at buffet was not bad, but needed a bit more variety. Neex gluten free options! No self serve i [... read more]cecream bar as in every other all inclusive I've been too. Reservations for a la Carte restaurants was awful! Half the time, the app wasn't working, plus if there's more than 6 people in your party you have to make 2 reservations and split up the people. Quesadilla, omelet and pizza stations at buffet were very good. Check in/out staff weren't very friendly or helpful and concierge services were less than average. Night entertainment wasn't very good, or lack of!

Barcelo Maya Caribe: WARNING DON'T GO

I honestly don’t understand how this place has such great reviews because it was far from amazing. The first night we arrived, my child had an accident, and the way the front desk staff treated us made me want to leave the resort that same day. They were rude, completely unhelpful, and when I tried to explain the situation while upset, they rolled their eyes at me instead of helping arrange transportation to the hospital. Zero empathy. Second issue everything at this resort costs extra. The w [... read more]aterpark, bowling, arcade, ping-pong, pool tables—literally all of it comes with an extra charge. That was a shock because every other resort we’ve been to included those things free. Third, the food was awful. The buffet and snack bar food made my whole group sick with stomach aches and diarrhea. The à la carte restaurants were the only places the food was decent, but even then, you only get four reservations for a 10-day stay. Really? Lastly, the rooms were disgusting. The bed felt like sleeping on dirt no matter how many times we asked for clean sheets. The smell of mold was unbearable it felt like it was everywhere in the room. It was uncomfortable, dirty, and honestly unacceptable. I would never recommend this resort to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere that actually cares about their guest. Oh I forgot also the beach is disgusting they don't even bother to clean up all the disgusting seaweed that collects on the beach, also if your looking for chairs by the pool or clear clean water, you definitely wont find that here. Be ready to party with the locals as they will all get drunk and blast there stereo near the kids pool. Watch out for the staff that rides his motorcycle on the pathways especially your children as he will be on his cell phone while driving on pedestrian walk way. I'm so glad to be home what a waste of money. Worst vacation ever

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: You get what you pay for

Pay the extra money for the room upgrade. Nice rooms down on the ocean front. Food was decent, but didn’t seem to change from day to day. Staff is friendly. Especially the ladies serving around the pool. The more you tip the better service you will receive.

Riu Latino: Great vacstion

Riu Latino Kalido transfer to hotel was wonderful, no lines to checkin. Room was great , view amazing off the balcony ( ocean front room). Sports bar was great , snack food was good no complaints. Expresso martinis are as everyone has said very good, Apple martinis are also amazing. Pools - Each day we tried a different pool. They lovely each with their own vibe. Lots of spaces with shade available even after 10 am ( resort was at capacity), so no need to get up early to save a spot unless you really want a specific area. Dined at Geshia, the food was very good ( first time a bit on the salty side,second time it was excellent). Absolutely the cleanest resort we have ever been too. Everywhere is spotless, grounds all the washrooms, it’s amazing! Wifi good by the pools, room, lobby and restaurants, spotty at the beach. Italian restaurant was very good. Loved the buffet style appetizers bar. Everyone’s main course was delicious . We loved that they had drink carts coming around the pools. Very convenient. Velvet the lobby bar had a great setup, ample seating and popcorn! We had our pre supper drinks there every night. Entertainment is your standard resort all inclusive fair. Some good some cheesy but it’s all good fun. Very comfortable seating to watch the shows and two bars in which you get drinks. The silent disco on Monday night was fun. Good music and energy. Rained heavily overnight Monday and was raining for most of the morning on Tuesday. First time ever we experienced a continuous rain day. Good day for kicking back, reading and resting. Forecast says it should stop by noonish. Fingers crossed. Beautiful last day. We checked out at noon ( not getting our transfer to airport until 6:30pm). Front desk informed us that after 5 pm we can only use the sports bar not the a la carte restaurants. Will test that theory lol. Either way we are fine but we plan to pop into the Italian at 5 so we shall see what happens. Had no issue going to the Italian restaurant after we checked out. It was great to have a good meal before the transfer back to the airport. Be prepared for Sunwing at terminal 2, no baggage drop off so checking in online saves zero time. Took 40 minutes to get through check-in then about 5-10 minutes for security . After that continuous route through duty free stores to the gate. Flight left on time and was a smooth flight home.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Nice resort

overall nice experience at this resort, great staff, great grounds, good food, comfortable bed. The only bean on the rice would be very outdated furniture, cheap woodwork, more attention is needed on this subject. Thank you Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias for a great stay!!!!.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Very good budget friendly resort.

This was our second time in Coba. The last time was sixteen years ago although we have stayed in the Akumal and Tulum sections more recently. Although dated the regular rooms at the Coba are the nicest of the sections we have stayed. Very spacious and the washrooms are really nice with Jacuzzi tubs and everything. The food at the buffet was quite good and there was a lot of choices so you could always find something to eat. The al a carte restaurants were excellent especially The Gourmet. The  [... read more]staff were of course excellent as they have been every where that we have stayed at the Bahia Principe property. The only thing that we found irksome was that there were no food options at the Coba beach as the blue banders were not allowed at the Akumal or Tulum restaurants or the food truck at Tulum. I know this has been mentioned by others but it would have been nice to have a food kiosk or something at the beach so that we didn't have to trek back to the buffet to eat during our day at the beach. All in all a great vacation and another note that the evening atmosphere around the Coba lobby bar is by far the best of the three sections we have stayed in. Keep up the good work.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: ANOTHER WONDERFUL VACATION TO A FAVOURITE RESORT!!!!

First let me say that once again it was a wonderful vacation. This was my 9th return trip to Valentin Imperial Maya. I have to say thank you to ALL the Valentin Team! They made my stay a wonderful one! I stayed this trip in building #8 ( located at the golden lazy river pool) ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! I stayed in a Golden Superior Room, located on the top (3rd) floor....Gorgeous views and QUIET!!!! Room, services, amenities, activities, food and staff were (as always) 10 out of 10!! A [... read more]nd I couldn't have asked for better weather!!! My building concierge, Paola, was professional, informative, kind, friendly, helpful and a great pleasure to get to know! Tania, the concierge at the Prive' Lounge was also a pleasure to meet and she also shared the same qualities as Paola!! THANK YOU LADIES!!!!!! Food services Supervisor Yolanda, was so kind to remember me, as always and greeted me with a warm welcome back! As well, the other food services staff like Noemi, Samuel, Snr. Angel.....so wonderful to catch up with them all! So great to see all of these long time staff members which is a testament to the resort that they retain staff for years! Bartender, Veronica always a pleasure to see!! And the Golden pool bar staff were all so attentive, efficient, kind and friendly. They also have food services directly at this pool area. I was really surprised to see the beautiful recent renovations of Le Marche Restaurant.....great job!! Just beautiful, warm and inviting for guests. The resort has a great layout and makes it easy to navigate. Easy for walking if you wish or they have courtesy golf cart transportation around the facility all times of the day. The only unfortunate disappointment was the beach and the sargassum seaweed. Since my past visit 1 yr ago, it seems to be far more frequently reaching the shores. I understand this is an ongoing challenge and circumstances beyond the control of the resort management and staff. So sad this environmental situation for all, both for locals and visitors. I understand this is not isolated to this resort but many in the Cancun/Playa Del Carmen areas. Having said this, I still visited the beach area a few times and did enjoy the sun, breezes and sounds of the water. There are beach bars in locations and a quiet beach area with a bar. A Beautiful view still!!! In my opinion, it seemed to create a situation that more people are visiting the pool areas and makes it harder to find a chair.....Or this may be due to the resort being at full or near full capacity. Tough situation to resolve....not sure if more chairs are a solution at the various pool areas or restrictions and monitoring of unused chairs with towels on them will assist this situation. I'm sure its not easy to resolve to work for all which is often the case at many resorts these days! None the less, this will not deter me from visiting again! I have already started looking into my next return visit! This resort is always consistent on all levels and such is the reason for so many repeat visitors like myself. Looking forward to my next visit in the very near future.

Hard Rock Hotel Cancun: Great Resort

Entertainment was great, beach had seaweed, buffet was bland, heads up dont do presentation with hotel there like the wolfs of wall street, not worth the 100 bucks or what ever they con you with. They try to say your saving money but it cost more when you look at what flights cost. But other then that it was good.

TRS Yucatan: Third time is the charm

I have been here twice before. I have also been to many other resorts and you won't find the service better anywhere else, it's 5 star all the time, from everyone there. If you are into a big beautiful beach, you will not care for this resort. They have been struggling with the sargassum and the beach is much smaller than it was in the early 2000s after a hurricane changed it. The food at the TRS is excellent. Riu Yucatan: Riu Yucatan

Rooms were very clean, the food really good, lots of choices. The grounds were very well kept! The staff were very helpful and courteous! We were very pleased with the hotel and staff. Overall the hotel was very well run! I would come back for sure!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Nice hotel, but watch your wallet

It's a nice hotel, but when we got off the plane and passed through security, we were directed to a person who tried to offer us a "deal." We later learned it was a scam for a timeshare. When we arrived at the hotel, they informed us about the scam—yet ironically, they then sent us to their own timeshare presentation. Also, we messaged the shuttle bus the day before our departure as instructed, but the person in charge was off that day. You’d think they would have reached out first thing in t [... read more]he morning, knowing we were trying to coordinate a ride to the airport—but they didn’t. As a result, we missed the shuttle, and the coordinator could only suggest we take a cab or risk missing our flight. It ended up costing us $100 USD for a cab to the airport.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Basic, not quite a 3 star.

This hotel has seen better days, I'm sure. The rooms show their age. Housekeeping was minimal and soap was almost an after thought. Drinking water in the room is scarce. Very few understand English. Pool loungers were all reserved before 6:30am. Most were unoccupied all day but had possessions on them (towels, bags, books or clothing). Food was good except birds kept getting into the buffet trays. Reservations for ala cart were booked up before 8:00am, never got in one so can't say how they [... read more] were. All that said, the grounds were beautiful and well kept. I have been to Royal Decameron in Panama, (loved it) and this does not hold a candle to it. Would not go back, all though the town it's self was a lot of fun. Great night life outside of resort!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Updating Needed Throughout The Resort!

Travelled March 25-April 8 2025 Gardenview Dbl Room #6 Bldg Check in - no information package on resort, map of resort, restaurant information. Bell boy asked if we’d like to carry our own luggage (2 large suitcases) to our building instead of driving us. Not impressed. Checkout - had prearranged a pickup to help with our luggage to the lobby. We ended up taking our own luggage anyways. PROS - clean room -large shower, double sinks, hair dryer, makeup mirror -comfortable beds clean [... read more] sheets -towels are more greyish than white (if that’s what you like) and not soft -patio balcony - average size -wifi spotty at times in room and throughout resort -housekeeping staff kept our room clean -liked the smaller quieter pool close by buildings 6,7 & 8 (snack bar closed down) - bar by small pool (hit & miss with cocktail knowledge) -pool by beach large & clean - restaurant close by -Festival Buffett - great cappuccinos , Mimosas **Highly Recommended these staff who were excellent in service and just wonderful people! *Festival Buffett -Miguel Benjamin, Lidia, Fernando *Ala Cart Seafood Restaurant- Benjamin *The Coffee House - great coffees, soft ice cream - excellent service all the time *The Black & White Bar - bartenders knew their cocktails. The shows here were basic, need to fix stage area. -Grounds - were well maintained CONS ~Room, deadbolt once locked , you had a hard time unlocking it! -ceiling fan didn’t work-no button on the wall to make it go on/off -AC next to none -limited plug ins for electronic devices -all rooms are the same - we checked them all and are in need of major updating done -pillows need replaced as ours were musty smelling -no snack bar or pool service at smaller pool - small pool area had approximately 25 Sun loungers 4 shaded areas only -staff shortage in Festival buffet, seemed overwhelmed in evening service at times -food was average in Buffett with long lineup for omelettes every morning as there was only 1 person cooking (felt sorry for her) -hard to book an ala cart on their Bluebay App, you could only book 12 hrs in advance -again hit & miss on cocktails…margaritas were served with Mescal, not Tequila (prefer flavour of Tequila) other drinks were messed up depending on who was bartending -the “welcome breakfast” is a a timeshare spiel! (Been to a couple at different resorts) learned to not go unless you want to! Ala Carts - Cuore di Rossi Italian Ala cart their salmon dish/spinach ravioli was delicious - Don ISI Steakhouse Ala cart - disappointed in the steaks. They were not grilled, no seasoning on steaks. - Jaal-Ha seafood Ala cart - very good food here Overall, I would not book this hotel or recommend to anyone until major renovations have been done!

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Good ? time

Our 2nd visit here both for 2 weeks.nice resort but it caters to people under 40 yrs old.the swimming pools are very small.the restaurants and buffet are adequate not as good as in 2020. The lunch and breakfast buffet is great .the dinner buffet is adequate. Not a.large selection of seafood or meats in the dinner buffet. But 3 good restaurants .The italian and the steakhouse and sky restaurant are very good. 4 star out of 5..the staff and bartenders are and cleaning staff are wonderful.
