Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Impressive older resort.

The resort buildings, grounds and pools were very nice. The food was excellent and the service unbelievable. Nice clean older resort, with very friendly staff. My wife and I were very impressed. Our only complaint was the fact that there were no facecloths in the bathroom.

Crown Paradise Club: very dissapointed

We have been going to that resort for over twenty years and were always very pleased. The resort was nice, rooms were clean and the food was OK. We went in January of 2017 and it was awful. We were put in a room that had urine on the floor by the toilet the beige black out drapes were black where people pull the drapes to close them. The snack bar had the same food everyday, no variety. They use to make burgers fresh at the snack bar but now they make them ahead of time and put them in the  [... read more]buns so by the time the snack bar opens the buns are dried out and the meat is cold. My husband who is not a picky eater ate spaghetti 8 out of the 10 days we were there. It appears that the money they used for the renovations was taken from the food and staffing budget. It makes me sad to say that after twenty some years of going there we won't be going back.

Samba Vallarta: Smallish intimate resort 😊

The grounds were always tidy and clean, very well looked after. The dining area was also kept very clean, food well presented and never a shortage! The Mecican and Italian ala care restaurants were outstanding. The waiters and bartenders were extremely attentive and always smiling. My 2nd year at Samba and I plan to return next year!

Grand Sirenis Matlali Hills: Very quiet but relaxing

We stayed at the Grand Direness Matlai Hills resort at the beginning of December. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful!!! It's a very small resort so the buffett is small, there isn't a lot of organized activities & there isn't much nightlife at the resort itself. The staff was all very friendly & the grounds are very well kept...our bathroom smelled a bit like sewage but we didn't hang out there all day anyways. Just closed the door & kept the fan on as much as possible. Was a great relaxing trip....not quite what we are used to but we enjoyed our stay :)

The hotel accommodated our large group of 15 people at both breakfast and dinner allowing us to sit at the table for the majority of our meals. They cooked up fish and all the trimmings from fish that were caught by a couple of guys in our group. Great presentation and very nicely cooked. Any issues that were very minor were dealt with fast. They could use face cloths in the bathrooms and the beds are very hard but if you request a foamy for your bed they will provide one. We love this resort close to shopping beach and other restaurants if wanted.

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: OK if you don't expect too much

A small hotel with a big ego. Having been coming here for more than 20 years, I have seen multiple changes for what started out as a smaller, neighborly family resort. It is now a 3 level (as in class distinction) hotel, with a good feel, but not like it once was. It's my pet beef that is appearing more often as time and the financial scene changes. That is unless you wish to be a First club member and opt for a membership (Used to be time share, but now that's a taboo word) which will get you a bigger room with sea view and balcony and access to the previously available to all "Adult Pool." All that aside, the "traveller class" (That's you and me, booking through our friendly travel agent such as Trip Central) can experience comfortable rooms and a nice pool with amenities available to all. A better beach than most on this stretch of NV, and food to die for. Go see Carlos in the Lobby bar, he remembers me well, he started here 20 years ago and has learned how to make a proper Marguerita. The Beach bar is gone now and replaced by a sterile Pool Bar, "Las Olas" which means the waves bar. I guess you can now wave goodbye to the camaraderie that used to exist in the old bar that is still pictured in the literature, and that lures many to at least investigate the new Occidental. Never mind, the bar staff know their business, Moises and Sebastian and Felix are pleasant enough, but there's no atmosphere for conversation like there used to be. There's a new partially covered terrace attached to the pool. The loungers there face the beach and you can watch the ocean through the newly planted Palm tree forest. Don't expect chairs, there's only 3 that I could count and they are a disputed item. So if you have difficulty getting up and down off the loungers, then better bring your own wheelchair or canvas camping chair. (Hmm now that's a thought that didn't occur to me then.) The Adult pool is no longer an item. They have barred access to the plebs and seeing as privileged children are using it, I see no advantage anyway. (The washrooms are too far for children) I loved the food at all the restaurants. I may be a pleb, but I knows my grub. The Buffet isn't just a trough where you can load your plate to the brim multiple times. You can choose a very well prepared meal, if you know how to plate it. I'm sure everyone has watched those shows. However, the wine is a little wanting. Go A la Carte if you wish. My favorite was the brand new Tokyo Restaurant, which, if you are privileged, and know your 3 R's, is a Japanese food restaurant. A good menu, well prepared food and well worth 2 visits. Or the Italian restaurant with it's brand of Steak and Pasta, Calamari (one legged Octopus) Shrimp. O, the Tiramisu, yes the TIRAMISU. We didn't try the Mexican restaurant, but were regulars at the lunch time snack bar/restaurant which served up a different soup every day. If you wished you could go gourmet fries there too. I couldn't say much about the entertainment, as I made my own, but Sunday is Karaoki night and lots of fun. The room we stayed in was adequate, the iron mattress was fine but sleep was sparse. There is a fridge for beer and soft drinks and room for your insulin. I had them replace the soft drinks with more water. The safe is easy to operate and I suppose difficult to break into. The bathroom /shower didn't come with a fan, so bring some matches. O, yes, If we craned our necks, we could see the ocean behind the Hard rock Hotel next door, otherwise the fine view of the Mexican Restaurant kitchen back door was enticing. Would I go back again? The whole population of Nuevo Vallarta would miss me if I didn't. I HAVE to go back.

Tropicana Hotel: Great location, clean and safe...

I have been going to the Tropicana for the past 4 years, likely 5 times by now. It is my first choice when going to Puerto Vallarta. While some of the mechanics of the hotel are old (“iffy” plumbing) the best feature is the property’s cleanliness.

Samba Vallarta: Very good locationsmsll

Small very friendly resort. Grounds are beautiful. Staff is excellent & very accommodating.Rooms need a bit of updating. Beach is is comfortable. Very family friendly. Coffee is ready for those that need their fix first thing in the morning .

Riu Flamingos: Excellent vacation

Everything was good to excellent from the food to the service provided. Not one bad thing to say about our 7 day stay at this fantastic resort. Great value for the money. Lots of activities for the kids to keep busy, nice layout easy to get around the resort, large property but easy to get anywhere relatively quick.

Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel and Mexican Charm: Beautiful resort

I had such a great time, the resort was clean comfortable, beds were amazing, the beach sand and surf was perfect. Lots of seating around pool. Great food and entertainment. And the best part the staff was amazing and friendly. I would go back tomorrow if I could.

Samba Vallarta: Fantastic resort.

The resort was fantastic, food was incredible taisty and plentiful. What stood out most was very relaxed and low keyed. We would recommend this hotel if you want a relaxing no nonsense and down to earth resort. I would not recommend using trip central is booking. You can not trust their prices.

Crown Paradise Golden: Fantastic two weeks

I found this hotel to be very relaxing and the staff extremely accommodating. The only amenities that I would have liked, would be more palapas on the beach rather than the bed's and a coffee bar that made Expresso coffees. Fantastic vacation, would return in a heartbeat..

Las Palmas by the Sea: This Hotel has a lot to offer

This Hotel has an adult only pool they were quick at enforcing the rule and quickly asked children to leave. There is good live entertainment every night, comfortable beds, at least mine was and great staff. The food was not the best I've had at a resort but it certainly wasn't the worst. The Hotel attracts a lot of partiers who stay up until the wee hours and cause a lot of noise which is magnified by the hall way/structure of the building. I was told the 4th floor was quiet and did not experie [... read more]nce and door slamming, door knocking, children screaming, parents yelling at their children well into the night. A Gentleman's Club is next to this Hotel, it is open all night and the loud booming base tone/noises until the wee hours of the morning were enough to drive a person out of any peace you could hope to find (once the children stopped screaming) I would not recommend this hotel and will not be returning.

Hilton Vallarta Riviera Resort: Excellent Resort

We totally enjoyed this resort. Close to take bus to old romantic area of Puerto Vallarta. . As always with a pool a lot of loud thumping music during the day. We stayed in the North Tower away from the pool. Food very good. A lot of restaurant choices and bonus no reservations. Spotless resort, wonderful views. Will return!

Las Palmas by the Sea: Love Las Palmas !

We have gone to PV for years and usually stay at the same hotel in the romantic zone as we like to be in town and love that hotel. This year we could not get 2 weeks there so we stayed at Las Palmas and we loved it .We had a room on the second floor on the adult pool side which is a little quieter and had a nice enough ocean view for us . All in all Las Palmas has won a little piece of my heart . Thanks for a great trip !!

Buenaventura Grand Hotel and Great Moments: Resort was okay

The one thing I can say is most of the staff we encountered were wonderful. The rooms I found weren’t quite what you see on the website but clean enough, could use a little updating. Food was decent but if you want pancakes and bacon you have to order from the waiter not always available at buffet not a big deal. Lots of beach service and around the pool, tip well and they bring you anything. Not a huge resort so not a lot of choices one bar and one restaurant unless you book the al a carte. W [... read more]e found a lot of people left as you are so close to the melacon to eat out. But in my mind when you pay so much for your trip why pay to eat somewhere else all the time. Next and I wasn’t impressed by this when you check out they cut your band off and you no longer can use their services, we had two and half hours before we left for the airport. They wanted 100 pesos an hour per person if you wanted to use the facilities. Okay 100 pesos is not that much but to me it is the principal we paid good money for our trip and we tipped everyone constantly. I was not impressed I have never found this at any other resort I have stayed at. I like you are close to the melacon but I would not choose to go back. The royal decameron Is our go to and I really missed it this trip. Adult pool always had kids in it Beach was rocky, beach and pools chairs not great.

My wife and I thouroughly enjoyed our stay. We found resort a little dated, but it was clean, staff friendly and helpful. Any issues our large party had were quickly addressed and rectified. We are already looking forward to planning our next trip to PVR and staying at the Royal Decameron

Really enjoyed our time here! Definitely worth (& contemplating) another visit. - Grounds: The grounds were simply immaculate, natural/peaceful. Excellent attention to maintaining its natural beauty; extremely well kept. Marival Emotions Resort and Suites Riviera Nayarit: Really a great resort and destination

Marival in Nuevo Vallarta was really a great resort and destination. It had everything that you look for when going away. Everything from an excellent long, wide, powdery beach to great dining, entertainment, rooms and gardens plus some other bonus features. The staff were very attentive with consistently excellent service. Amazing sunsets. The only thing I disliked was that from arrival at the Puerto Vallarta airport to check-in there were several high pressure tactics to pressure you in [... read more]to going to a time-share sales presentation. At the airport when you were looking for your transfer ride travel staff are lined up at counters calling you over knowing you are looking for your transfer. They then proceed into their sales pitch and are relentless and annoying. Even at hotel check-in they hand you off to a person to (so they say) give you your bracelets. This person isn't interested in giving you your bracelet so you can start your vacation and proceed to your room after a long trip. Instead working to sell time share units and pressure you to visit an RCI time share presentation. The number of close attempts was crazy even bringing over a 2nd closer time share Manager. What a trap/gimmick, . OMG we went to vacation; not be pressured to buy time shares. We simply had to demand our bracelets be given to us and walk away. Very bad start to an otherwise excellent vacation.

Didn’t start off to well with Air Transat sitting on the tarmac in Vancouver for almost 3 hours! However, once we reached the Royal De Cameron that was soon forgotten. The rooms are clean and all the staff are friendly. We would definitely visit them again!
