Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great resort

Overall we enjoyed this resort. David Bell our travel agent was great and informative. Things to think about are no face cloths are supplied so bring your own. Food is ok. Servers in buffets and Japanese restaurant are great. Elevators were not working and pools were not deep. Overall we were very happy.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Amazing staff but very shy of a 4.5 star

This was not our first time to Cuba but our first to this resort. First let’s start with the positives. The beach was stunning, plenty of shade and lots of space. The grounds were lovely, the food was good (considering it was Cuba) and everything is centrally located. The staff at the resort were incredible, tried to sort out any issues we had and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Unfortunately the rooms are very worn and tired. Furniture (throughout the resort+room) sheets and towels all had stains, mold throughout the room, closet doors broken, lock on hotel room door didn’t work, AC unit barely able to produce cold air and created a lake on our floor and the shower head wall mount unusable. If we were to consider returning, it would be because of the staff and a crazy amazing deal!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Laguna is AMAZING!

The resort was good and the people were AMAZING! We had a great time. Our room was clean and mini bar stocked daily. Yoselin and the rest of the crew at the swim up bar were fabulous! The food was ok but honestly I don't go for the food. I go for the sun and relaxation. Always found something to eat. One night we did have lobster on the grill in the buffet which was GREAT! Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Worst Vacation

The structure of the hotel is nice but overall it was all outdated, air conditioner not working properly and rooms were all old and out dated. The food was bad, I'm NOT a picky person but I cannot tolerate the food, no variety of selection and it is all limited (ice cream, mango fruits and desserts). Snacks are all hot dogs, fries and pizza (worst pizza). The reception people are not friendly, rushed to talk to you and hard to understand because they rushing to explains things. The bar always ru [... read more]n out of mojito and other drinks. My family got sick with the food, the food people doesn't handled the food properly (dirty) and lots of flies in the buffet area.

Iberostar Waves Quetzal: Excellent!

Great food, buffet food was best I have ever had and I have been to Mexico a dozen times. Italian restaurant was great, Mexican was good. Rooms were a good size, beds were not rock hard like they are at some resorts. Air conditioning not great, toilets don’t work great. Shower always had hot water, worked well. Staff are great. Thanks to Misael who checked us in and chef Alexis who was always coming to check on us during dinners. Tacos on beach were good. They do have a drink menu at ad [... read more]ult pool bar, just ask for it. Pool was beautiful. Lots of seaweed on beach, but that is at every resort in the area. Always found a beach chair, as long as you are there by 10am. Overall a very good trip.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: First Family trip in Cuba

Hotel: Good as described for lodging; much less mosquitoes than other resorts. Playas: nice beaches, very calm seas, good for kids. Food: below average in the first few days (before the WE); good after, since there were travel groups from Canada. Ambiance: average to good; lots of latinos from Argentina, Chili ...; rude and noisy, not orderly (cigarettes butts on the floor, near the pools, on the beaches, garbage and empty cups in trees, bushes ...). Not treating Cubanos nicely, no tips, onl [... read more]y ... orders (colonial attitude). Roads: 2 hrs drive from airport!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: One of Cuba's best!!

This resort is very clean. Cubans are usually so friendly and helpful and this was so true of the resort. Food is plentiful and lots of fruit and vegetables. Rarely a line up at the bars. Room was clean and air-conditioning worked. Always able to find a lounge chair at the beach and pool. One of Cuba's best!!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great vacation!

Two of my friends and I stayed here for one week and absolutely loved it! It was a relaxing resort with a beautiful beach and lots to do. We are in our mid twenties and were looking to relax but have fun so we spent our days lounging at the beach and nights watching the good entertainment shows, dancing at the disco, having a few drinks by the lobby bar, and exploring some of the nightlife around Varadero. We were comfortable at this resort and thought the service was good (sometimes a little sl [... read more]ow). The food at the buffet was acceptable and there was good variety. Also, the beach chairs were highly uncomfortable and the rooms looked a little run down but this wasn’t a problem in the grand scheme of things. We would recommend this resort to anyone...there was a lot to do for people of all ages and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Beautiful resort!

The star prestige area is well worth the extra expense! Beautiful beach area and pool. However, you cannot directly enter the ocean without water shoes due to rocks. The rooms are very nice, clean and well maintained. Will definitely be planning a trip back to Iberostar Cozumel in the future!

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Sleeping beauty? No, sleeping duty!

We've just back from the resort. Spent 10 days there with our friends. It was our 11th visit to Cuba, and 6th in Varadero. We choose Iberostar because the name, and very positive experience from our previous stays. At this time resort was filled for 40-50%. Half of premises were closed. On bright side, we had a plenty of sunbeds on the beach, at any time. About Iberostar Playa Alameda. It use to be as great resort. Now it looks dying. 60% of outside lighting are off. Working lights i [... read more]n dining hall and bars are dim and depressive. I've seen a numerous signs of improper maintenance: fallen light bollard with exposed wires, broken switches, unprotected pits beside walkway, uncleaned beach, uncleaned pool floor... We occupied the building #17. On the second day, the glass sliding door in shower cabin slipped down when I was trying to close it. I was able to catch it and put back. Next day the door fell down and broke on hundreds of sharp pieces when my wife was taking shower. Fortunately, no major injures. Reaction from resort? They just changed door, and hung it on the same unsafe way! I'm not a picky person. I would forgive some imperfections, especially on Cuban soil... What really irritates me is the amount and repetitiveness of those little problems. Every day (yes, everyday) as we return from the beach, we had to call to reception. The reasons may vary: could be uncleaned room, or lack of soap/shampoo or toilet paper, insufficient or ripped towels... Two times they made the bed with the same linens. But, what is most annoying is the mini-bar. And I'm not talking about beer. The water! Everyone knows that tap water is no-no, only bottled one is drinkable. But, this was the first resort when we need to fight for any bottle! You can not find it anywhere. Neither at lobby nor in the bar. We had to call to reception 3-4 times and only listen to their promises. Finally, I solved the problem, when start buying water from some service person. Can anyone imagine that? We are back and we are happy. The ocean was great, rain was falling mainly on nights, and we had a good time with our friends. And we lost weight, too! Because the food was eatable only two times per week.

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Good resort

Grounds maintained very well, but several ornamental ponds attract mosquitoes. Our room was very clean. Food was very good, but flies were everywhere in restaurants. Night entertainment was OK, but not excellent. Best night show by far was the one called something like Stone Rock. For the other shows, the singers group was better. The dancers were good mainly in the shows/parts of it for children such as Lion King version. We liked that there is a Disco each night starting at 11 pm. It would b [... read more]e even better to start at 10:30 pm, easier to leave early and to wake up next morning. People employed by the resort are friendly. This is also valid for most of the people at the restaurants and bars. Best part of the resort is the beach and especially the sea water: water is crystal clear, warm, with shallow entry.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Not as good as the first time...

This is my second time at the resort, in a span of 4 months. I enjoyed it so much the first time because of the customer service and the beautiful grounds, that I decided to go back with a group of ten. Honestly it wasn’t as great as the first time. Customer service was horrendous from the beginning of check-in. The attendant at the front desk was full of attitude and gave my group some serious side eyes because maybe she didn’t want to deal with a group of ten! Who knows?? The room was dirt [... read more]y with stained sheets and the house chamber maids did not replenished our water and some members of my group also had the same problem. The dinning area (buffet) was not maintained quickly to service the next customer sitting down, so you had to call them over to clean the tables before you can actually use it. There was always a shortage of something, such as plates, glasses, napkins etc.. I don’t think the pool was clean, there were lots of debris, bugs and clear plastic cups. On the other hand, the beach is awesome and gorgeous. The front office personnel’s are all rude with a side of attitude and provide no apologies or compassion if you had a complaint. They would tell you “there is nothing we can do” my room door was broken and instead of them looking after it, they made me walk back and forth 3 times to test the door, I had to do this along with my four year old son! And we were not close to the front desk. After pleading my case that it is not the key but the actual door it self, they sent a mechanic to fix it - only to be broken again the next morning. I had to repeat the whole ordeal again. Such a waste of my afternoon. Again, no apologies or compassion. The bartenders and waiting staff on the other hand are super nice. On the last day, let me remind you that check out time is 12p. We had 6 rooms in total. Out of the 6 rooms, 3 rooms got a call at 10am saying they had to check out of their room by 1030am. My family did not speak English so well and it was their first time, so they evacuated the room by 10:30am. I was not aware about this situation until we left the resort, otherwise they would’ve heard it from me. The reason being was that there were new guest checking in. Anyways, I also found another fellow Canadian who found the service terrible and she quoted “I will not be coming back here again” she too also visited the resort twice. I am very embarrassed to bring my family here because for most of them it was their first time. With that being said, I too will not recommend my friends or family or see myself back here again.

Iberostar Waves Tucan: Small and peaceful

This my 1st visit of this resort. I really like the environment inside the resort. It's small, cute, modern and authentic. It has one of the best beaches in Playa de Carmen. 20 minutes walk to Playa de Carmen from the hotel. The food is good, but nothing extraordinary. Rooms are standard - clean and nice. Entertainment is awesome! If you're looking for small, quite, peaceful resort - this is the right place for you!!! I'll definitely come back here again in the future!!!

Iberostar Waves Quetzal: very niceand clean resort

One of the best trip where kids and adults got a very good time.. The ocean is better comparative with other Playacar resorts where the ocean is calcified and rough and wearing shoes is mandatory. The resort personnel very nice and eager to help. I'm recommending this resort ..Enjoy!!

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Overall great family vacation

We stayed at the Iberostar Ensenachos for a week second week of June. We travelled with the family, husband, wife and two kids aged 2 and 7. This was our second stay at this resort. We were here last year in June as well. This year we really enjoyed our stay. We had a nice spacious room (4023). The food was good with enough variety for the kids. Fresh fruit was delicious. Beach is outstanding! People are welcoming. These things are only important when you travel with kids. Otherwise, it’s a beautiful resort and an unforgettable beach. Kids loved it! Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Amazing resort

This was my first time ever going anywhere. It was an amazing experience the staff were very friendly and helpful no matter what the situation was. There was always so much variety of food available. The place was always kept cleaned. The overall price is a great value. I would definitely recommend this resort and will be back!

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: great resort

Had a great time at Playa Alameda, clean and quiet, perfect for couples. The food is not that great. Service was great people are very friendly. Great place to visit. There where lots of bugs in the room at night.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Awesome resort, great time

This was a good resort, clean, well maintained, friendly staff. The most amazing thing was the starcamp for kids activities and playground. It was at a high quality and joyful. Food was excellent and pools were great. The only thing that could be better is the shuttle bus service. It doesn't take you to the room but only to lobby (would be easier if you have to carry a sleeping kid (s)). That was minor though.
