Playabachata Hotel: the worst resort ever

Good afternoon, i booked 6 tickets to Dominican republic for my self and 5 of my family witch 2 of them coming from Lebanon to go for 7 days vacation in Puerto plata playabachata resort, it turned to a disaster after we checked in and we were ready to leave the resort the second day and come back to Canada. the pools were disgusting dirty, the oil, hair, bugs... were floating on top of the water, the beach chairs were all broken no entertainment at all, the entertainment members come just to [... read more] take some drinks from us without even asking... i remember Emanuel he comes and drink the beer and always asks us to bring him more.... we were expected sea food but we barely saw it lol ... only 1 kind of fish that they served the whole week,,,, the tomato was ruined all the time, the bread was hard like a rock, meat is hard can't shew it .... employees will ask you for the tip before they serve and if you don't tip them you will get half a glass of water. we are 6 people we payed 6000$ in tickets plus 120$ on our departure and over 100$ each for tips after we took off from our work to go on vacation and enjoy our time but we couldn't swim or eat good... spend the vacation in a room where we had to hear noise from the construction people that weak us up at 6,30 AM everyday, and everywhere you walk on the resort they were painting and paint smell was very strong... i complained to the reception in the main lobby over 5 times every day about the pool but no luck, i went to the sunwings representative to file a complaint or even to ask her if we can return back to Canada sooner but she barely speaks English. on top of that we lost the water for over 12 hours we couldn't shower or even brush our teeth... rooms were dirty, the sealing were stained yellow, bugs everywhere, we had to wait for the rooms cleaners till 3 or 4 PM to ask for water to drink, and change our towels... we saw some Canadians on the resort next to us THE SENATORS they were very happy with the rooms, service, food and pools... we asked at the reception if we can move there and we pay extra if we have to they refused to talk about it with us the sunwings rep and the rep at the front desk in the lobby. finally all what i can say it was not a vacation, it was a disaster for the whole family... definitely we wont go back to that resort and wont recommend it to anyone. i am asking to file a complaint on my behalf t get a full refund from what we paid. thank you

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Amazing resort

The hotel grounds and beach were cleaned daily. Food was excellent and there waz a large variety. Staff was very friendly and courteous. I would and already have recommended thus resort ti family and friends

Casa Marina Reef Resort: First and last time there

The new rooms are Nice and the cleaning ladies were professional The food was not good 90%of the staff was not friendly and for the pool we advised management that a lady had clean the son poop in the pool and the only thing they did was To pick up the poop and no treatment has been made

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Soon 2 be amazing

We vacationed at the Senator on Feb 22/19. Resort was only 75% completed, 2 restaurants were still papered up saying coming soon, we weren't offered 25% off our vacation. It will be a great spot once finished if they correct a few other issues like running out of premium booze during the day, a micky of scotch & 2 pepsi being a stocked room fridge, some of the workers weren't very good with the English language, they were all very friendly. The resort is very well kept, pools very clean, beach a [... read more]rea is nice some rocky area's. It was nice to watch the cruise ships port. Missing was pool volleyball which my husband loves, as well the daily activities need some work. The buffet was excellent for all of our 3 meals daily as the Italian & Steakhouse was lined up. We upgraded to Oceanview wasn't worth the $. Need to keep bars open longer as the sports bar get very busy when the others shut, 1 mid afternoon & pool bar 8pm. About 40 minutes from airport, beautiful mountains all around. They burn their garbage Mon-Fri so the smell of burning plastics linger in the morning air!

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Sunscape Puerto Plata

All around everything was great.....friendly staff, exceptional service, clean rooms, clean grounds, two very nice pools, easy access to clean beach, lots of very good restaurants, both buffet style and à la carte, all kinds of drinks were available at all times, great entertainment every night, a golf course across the way and tennis courts on site.

Paradise Playa Dorada: Grand Paradise Playa Dorada - A Great Beach Resort

This resort has the best beach area for hotels in this area. There are lots of cots either for sun or shade with a beautiful view of the ocean. The grounds, facilities,and gardens are kept clean and spotless. The buffet restaurant has good food with lots of choices. Supersaver room (#1648) was old but large with no balcony. The hot water was lukewarm after running for a long time.The air conditioner was noisy and did not get the room that cold. Entertainment was not that good and was too l [... read more]ate in the evening. I would suggest 8:30 pm as a better time.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Okay resort

We had a lot of fun at this resort Definitely not a family resort as there was a bunch if drunken idiots throughout the day..... but our daughter wasn't with us, so it wasn't a terrible inconvenience. I would not return again.

Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort: Excellent Vacation - Can't wait to return

We arrived on March 15.2019 on hour early flew with Transat great flight. We got to the resort checked in with Angel(Male-spelling could be wrong sorry!). Very friendly outgoing and so helpful... we had a great bellboy service helped with our bags to our room. Upon seeing our room we were so surprised it was monetized very clean and very nice room 2104. Close to everything. The service at the VIP beach was outstanding thanks to Rachel and Jorge...great food at the snack bar.. chicken wings and fries and so much more. We met amazing people in Dominica which we will keep in contact with such nice friends. Next couple days we spent at the pool adult pool was very quiet and relaxing again get up really really early if you want a bed for this section. Bufett was great food was good a lot of selection. Roberto was a great server and so funny! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK ROBERTO!... the Yin Yag Spa wa also nice at Confessi...great massage and relaxation. When you get offered a spa on the because dont take the 1st one the prices very. And once you purchase you can use the facilities all week. They have a small casino on the resort as well. It was fun. At night you could try to sit at the pool bar but there are only about 6 tables so good luck. They need more places to sit at night..more chairs and tables. There is one other place and that is to the left of the lobby bar there are about 5 tables there but they could have more there is enough room. All and all I would definately recommend to stay at Lifestyle Tropical resort and spa. Don't read the other bad reviews because I did and it's nothing like they say..so enjoy your week we sure did. Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Great Resort and good time

My husband and I travelled here from March 14-March 21. Weather was excellent. Cons: wifi was not good and barely any staff knows english. The staff mainly knows spanish. There should be refreshments provided in lobby area 24/7. Pros: rooms were clean, service was excellent. We needed towels and they were brought to our room immediately. Food was excellent. Daily activities in pool. Staff very friendly. Overall, great trip and I would recommend.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Terrible experience and food

The grounds are nice but that's about it. The staff make you feel like a nuisance, the food is terrible and there aren't any pool towels. We were told to come back at a later time and even when we came back, they still didn't have towels.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Great resort

Great value resort, no complaints, had a room with great view of the ocean, good food, awesome service, mature well manicured grounds,second visit at this resort. Went in March and experienced perfect weather, hot and sunny every day. Went on the cable car up the mountain and experienced a wonderful aerial view of Puerto Plata. You don't need a guide for this.

Playabachata Hotel: New/old Playa Bachata

Finished two week, fifth visit. New owner has brought some good and bad changes. Good: very nice water facing gym. Nice coffee/pastry shop, ice cream parlor, pizza shop (all included). Bad: no beer in room fridge. Every second day water delivery (four days twice), food variety seemed limited and repetitive, late check in had one person to handle bus load of guests. The weather was great and the room was what we asked for. In the end we had a good visit and may return again, if the price is right.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Blue bay is average

Hotel is clean room staff are average, they work long hours. Watch when you check in, " do not ask for an upgrade " prior to seeing your room you will have your first bad experience. The concierge time shard staff are pests....after telling one fellow we were " NOT" interested he still seem to be whatever we showed up. I was not interested in wasting time to listen to a presentation for somewhere I was not prepared to buy into

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing resort!

Dear Jennifer: Everything was great. Even the air travel was smooth. Only thing is I was sick almost the whole time we were there. Had nothing to do with the hotel. I was sick the day before we left. That's why it was just so nice to visit the different pools, bars & restaurants. Although I enjoyed the pools the most. And yes there is a lot of walking, that's why I picked Cofresi. There was one older lady with a cane walking up a set of stairs. Hope she made it. Lots of stairs [... read more]. But yes I will go back. Maybe next year when I feel better.

Paradise Playa Dorada: great resort-no major problems

The grounds. and hotel were very nice. Excellent staff. Good variety of food.The Italian and Eden restaurants required reservations and were very acceptable with great wait staff-very accommodating. I would go back there.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: We had a fantastic stay!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this resort from may 14-21, 2019. We had a fantastic stay at Blue Bay Villas Doradas. Room: 4/5 Everything in the room worked as it should, it was very spacious for a super saver room. We expected to get a smaller, less equipped room for the cheaper price but it was above our expectations. The only criticism is that it could have been cleaner as the floors were a little dirty when we arrived. Food: 4/5. The food at the beach bar was the least preferred as some of it seemed like leftovers/wasn’t that fresh but it was still flavourful. Atmosphere: 5/5. It was very chill and easy to relax at the beach and they also had a quiet pool. It grounds around our room were also quiet. If you wanted to party, the pool was the place to be as there was entertainment every day. The grounds were also very clean and beautiful. Service: 3/5. The largest criticism would be the service at some of the bars. There were some bartenders that weren’t very friendly. It seemed they only gave good service to people who they were friends with or tipped the most. Also, many of the bars were very slow and seemed understaffed. But we were on vacation and weren’t in a rush so it didn’t spoil our moods. Overall, we had a great time would definitely return.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Awesome place

Gorgeous grounds, food was fantastic lovely rooms, the staff was invitting and helpful Went on snorkeling tour, it was so fun and entertaining. This is a great place for family or couple vacation. Pool was beautiful and the wild life that lives there is spectacular.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Amazing Resort

We had the most awesome time! Rooms were amazing! Very clean and all the equipment's were working. The personnel in the Hotel, restaurant, bar , entertainment , housekeeping to even the photo shop were incredibly friendly and helpful. We loved everything!

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Beautiful and clean resort

The hotel was new, modern and very clean. Grounds and public areas were cleaned constantly throughout the day. Housekeeping was great. Always fresh towels and linen. Replenished essentials daily. Shower was good. Lots of hot water and presure. King size bed and very comfortable. Dinning was good with lots of choices. Buffet, and 3 al la cartes(steak house, Italian and Tappanyaki and sushi bar. Other options at Tropical Avenue. Pools and beach cleaned daily. Playabachata Hotel: Okay resort for$ but needs improvements

Dining was just ok,(Alcart restaurant was ajoke). Staff was great,but not happy with the new ownership. Beach ok, but could be improved. Nightly shows were not great . 3rd time at location Not sure if we will be back. Unhappy 19
