Bahia Principe Explore Coba: For sure a 5 star!

This is the best resort we have ever been to. Cannot get over the cleanliness of the washrooms, buffet, ala carte restaurants and of course our room. The staff work non stop to keep everything so clean, it is amazing. The staff could not be more friendly or do enough for you, and the management went over and above while we were there to make our Anniversary a special day. We were disappointed in the beach, rocky with lots of seaweed but that is nature, not the fault of the resort.

All Ritmo Cancun Resort And Waterpark: Great place to take kids!!

We took our kids for the first time and this was a great place to take them!! It was a small resort(155 rooms) so i sodntbhave to worry about them getting lost, good variety of food, nice and clean, AWESOME STAFF!! They were very friendly and interactive with the children!! The pool was fun and lots of activities for the kids. The beach wasn't great they did their best to clean seaweed every day but there was still always seawed in the water. Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Nice Resort

Hotel was over booked so we didn't actually stay at Sa' an Kan. We were moved to the Bahia Principe Akumal, with no hot water and a broken air conditioner; however the food was delicious, service was excellent and the respect for the natural surroundings was apparent by the abundan of wildlife and foliage.

Occidental Cozumel: Fantastic resort for fun and relaxing.

This resort was super for relaxing at the quiet pool where they have cushions for the loungers and also show a movie each night or relaxing at the beautiful, deep beach where the water was clear and the bottom of the ocean was very sandy. There was also the main pool where one could participate in many activities, dance lessons, volleyball, aqua-fit, etc. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous, lush and well manicured. While the buffet did not have as a large of a selection as most, we found that the all groups were represented and was high-quality. Please note that the pizzeria / burrito restaurant is closed until further notice. The resort is easy to navigate with few stairs. I would recommend more benches along the pathways for the elderly or less mobile. I also feel that the guests could benefit from cushions on some of the beach or main pool loungers. My spouse is less mobile and finds the plain loungers uncomfortable and difficult to get in and out of. Perhaps just a few chairs for those who have difficult getting down into and up out of the loungers might be helpful. We also found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was mixed messages from the staff at the main desk when we were trying to arrange a later check-out. We were to leave the resort at 6:30pm but check out was at 12:00pm. There was not a hospitality suite where one could shower after check out so enjoying the beach or pool after check-out was not feasible for us. My wife enjoyed a massage, facial and reflexology (which she loved and now believes in whole-heartedly). However, the prices for massage and reflexology are very high at about $130 CDN (after exchange). The is about $40 more than we pay in Canada for RMT. The facial was even more expensive. I took a snorkelling excursion in the glass-bottom boat and saw an eel, sea-turtle, lobster, starfish and many varieties of fish over the coral reef. It was around $50 USD and worth it! Please use caution when discussing the time-share (which is touted as a Royal Club upgrade. We spoke to a couple that had become members. A free week is offered. This couple decided to become members and booked a 2 week stay. They were moved to a regular room and regular service after week one??? Overall, I would recommend this resort and would consider returning if the price and flight times are good.

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Amazing Views

Hotel was lovely lots to do. Staff treated us very well. We spent a fair amount of time around the adult pool with Abraham he ROCKED! David who was part of the entertainment crew was a GEM! Really enjoyed Cancun felt very comfortable going on the public bus downtown to take in the sights as well as have super in one of the pubs. The musicians on the bus are so much fun! Dreams Huatulco: Amazing Resort

I cannot say enough about Huatucolo. It is beautiful, the people are very friendly. The resort was the best I have ever stayed at. Everything was supplied for you, right down to the sunscreed. Food was great. Rooms were spotless and comfortable.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great resort

We spent a great week at the Azul Fives. It's a perfect resort for young families or those looking for a little peace and quiet. The grounds were beautiful, well-designed and immaculately kept. The serpentine pools ensure you are never more than a few steps away from a dip, and the kids' areas are well thought out. There's lots of beautiful flora throughout. The food was absolutely - and consistently - delicious. Room service was an enormous plus. Service was great for the most part, especially the front desk and concierge, which did their best to accommodate. A few draw backs: the transfer from airport to hotel took 1.5 hours as it's a private company that does the milk run before dropping you off; it's not possible to take out food from any of the restaurants, so you're limited to a small room service menu if your little one is sleeping; staff cleaning and stocking the fridge pop in 3 times a day and don't have much respect for privacy, simply knocking and walking in without waiting for a response (also asking to use the phone on repeated occasions); the beach is small and waters are rough (the red flag was up almost the whole week). All in all, a great resort and we would go back.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Great time ......except

Clean, excellent staff, huge, great food, my husband broke his foot while we where there so we couldn't do any excursions , we really wanted to go snorkelling but he broke it on the 3 rd day so that was out of the question :( all we could really do was go to the pool, they did get us a wheel chair, thank goodness , they where very helpful

Riu Vallarta: Woderful Holiday

We very much enjoyed our two week holidy at RIU Vallarta. This was our second visit to the hotel and we were not disaappointed. We had friends join us for the 2nd week and our request that their room be close to ours was acommocated. Buffet was terricic...disappointed with the Asian restaurant as it was buffet only. Grand Sunset Princess: Fantastic Resort!

Everything about this resort was top notch. This a big resort and everything is well kept and clean. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The restaurants and food was excellent. There are many pools to chose from and you could always find a swim up bar to enjoy drinks. The beach did have some kelp on most days but I am more a pool person, so it was not a concern.

Las Brisas Huatulco: great value for the money

Good food, impeccable service. Lots of opportunity for sports .(Old club med). Not too busy, mainly middle aged crowd. Nice to be so close to town, only 5 dollar taxi ride. Lots of stairs so not for people with mobility issues.I nicknamed it the mountain goat resort. Great memories!

Catalonia Yucatan: Great Resort

Very nice hotel. Food was decent. Very clean. The employees work very hard and are friendly. Must pick your lounge chairs for the day very early as people claim them as early as 5 am. The only negative is the beach. Not much of one.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: wooow

everything about this place is amazing, you have your own personal concierge in each building. it is very clean and you and don't even get me started on how good the food is. the only drawback about this resort is that it smells like sewage when you are walking to the beach but the beauty of this hotel and staff outweigh any negatives it has I recommend this hotel every person who wants to go to Rivera Maya

Riu Emerald Bay: Great place!!!

We just returned from 10 day stay at the Riu Emerald Bay. This was our second time staying at the Riu, and we were not disappointed.. The front desk was very helpful, they went out of their way to make our stay comfortable.. Thank you to previous post regarding the mattress topper! 2 nd day we were there we asked for it and what a difference it made.. The waiters were all fantastic !! Sheraton Buganvilias Puerto Vallarta Hotel: Wonderful resort

We had a fantastic time at this resort. It is so beautiful and the grounds are amazing. Our room was lovely with a hug balcony overlooking the pool and the ocean! The pools were huge and nice and warm. My rating for beach and pools is a little low, as the beach is unfortunately very pebbly and we really did not spend much time on the beach (which is where I usually like to be). The food was good and the service was excellent - very friendly and cheerful staff. I would certainly go back.

Delfin Beach Resort Puerto Vallarta: Great Location!

Located on the best beach in the heart of the city's action. The staff are great - always happy, smiling and willing to help. Not recommended for people with walking difficulty because of the stairs to the bathroom from the pool or the beach. Superior rooms are very basic and I suggest you upgrade your room if you can afford it.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great value!

Booked this resort on the recommendation of a trip central agent who had been there.Though it wouldn't be classified as a luxury resort it is a solid 4/5. It loses points for mediocre beach.The rooms are comfortable and clean.No tub in our room but a spacious 3 x 8 ft shower stall. The food is very good for resort food- lots of choices.Coconut ice cream! Pools aren't overly crowded so swimming was great.Didn't swim in ocean.No complaints.Had a great week!

Selection Riviera Cancun: Sensational Riviera Maya Resort

Sensatori Azul Resort was true paradise for my husband and me during our one-week stay in early March 2015. Amenities and rooms are superb, the networks of pools and bars extremely well-maintained, the food delicious and the staff professional, competent and friendly. We appreciated having a personal concierge Yadi. We also appreciated the spirit in which activities and entertainment were delivered throughout the day and in the evening...kudos to Stephanie, Mario, Jorge, and many others!

Riu Cancun: Spectacular Resort!

This hotel was absolutely beautiful, I was taken away from the moment we arrived. The staff were extremely professional, helpful and very friendly. The rooms/grounds/lobby were ALWAYS being cleaned literally I felt like I never saw sand or dust anywhere. The hotel grounds isn't very large as it is a high rise but it was still breath taking. The food was endless and amazing! There was such a large variety of well prepared food that everyone is bound to find something they love! The a-la-carte restaurants were very nice, I particularly enjoyed the Japanese and the Steakhouse. I will definitely be back to the Riu they are a great chain of hotels and the Riu Cancun definitely exceeded all my expectations. ** I also wanted to note that we were there during the first week of American Spring break and we noticed that the service quality had dropped slightly since the spring breakers had arrived. This is definitely warranted as it was just too crazy to keep up with everything but despite that it was still amazing how well the Staff handled the giant influx of travellers and crazy party people.

Riu Palace Peninsula: Pleasantly surprised

My finance and I had a great stay at the Riu palace Pennisula. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel was immaculate and the beach and water were amazing! Our room was exactly what we asked for and we didn't feel "ripped" off at all. We stayed for ten days and not once did we complain about the food.
