Very friendly staff and a very nice clean resort. We had a great time at Emporio Acapulco. The only problem is that there is a lack of young people, me and my girlfriend are in our mid 20s and we felt that we were the only people from north America in the whole city in this age group. Acapulco is very safe, people need to stop being ignorant and check out this amazing place for themselves.

We have no complaints with this hotel. Everything was clean, well maintained and the staff were friendly, pleasant and very welcoming.
The food was plentiful, and good, though i have to say lunch on the beach was delicious.
We traveled out to eat locally at Shooters.. highly recommend this little gem.
The staff work hard to make everyone feel at home, and comfortable and to ensure your stay is enjoyable. A special thank you to Joel, Jesus,Jeremias, Benito, Gilberto, Urbano, for making our stay special. ( There are others, but names have escaped me lol)
The hotel is small, and has a Mexican feel, and is not "party Central" for those looking for a relaxing stay, though, there is some entertainment in the evening, and some activities to occupy you during the day. We met some amazing couples on our stay .. ( amazing group of people.. ) Cannot wait to visit here again, as we will be back.
( PS. Whale watching from the beach was fun.. which they had have come in closer).

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Resort for Kids
I know other travelers like to pick at little things to be dissatisfied with. The only unfortunate thing during our stay was that the beaches were too wavy too swim with our little ones and there was a lot of seaweed on the beaches each day. But we just stayed and played in the pools. The waterpark was simply amazing for our 2 year-old. She had so much fun on the slides everyday. We took her to the Dolphinarium for the Interactive package and it was worth every cent. The food was delicious, ther[... read more]e's definitely something for everyone. Staff even went out of there way to bring us carton of milk for the little one's bottles. The food at the al a cartes were absolutely excellent. I had some of the best flank steak I've ever had at the Tequila (Mexican) one and at the Brazilian, the meat just kept coming until you flipped the card to red. The resorts grounds were clean and our room was as well. No bugs, no mold that other people have complained about. The resort is just really really big. Be prepared to take their tram buses everywhere, especially to the beach. Staff were always friendly and accommodating. Overall I would definitely consider returning to this resort if we travel again with our little one. If we travel alone, I might consider the Tulum resort or Akumal just to be closer to the beach and a little quieter.

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: A Much needed Getaway
Four winter weary Canadians headed to the Royal for a much needed break. The couple we went with had been to the Royal before and recommended we go there for R and R. Turned out to be a great recommendation.
From the cold towel and champagne when we arrived, the quick hassle free check in and excellent staff, we were in our room and into holiday mode within a very short time of arriving. The room was large and well appointed. The grounds were kept in great shape and it was a pleasure walking ar[... read more]ound the resort and getting oriented.
The food was very good with Maria Marie getting the nod as favorite. Although the chef's table was a close second. The chef's table has a set menu, so a couple of dishes that I normally would not have chosen pushed this restaurant to number two. The food was exceptional and if the menu contains some of your favorites, you will really enjoy this place. The room service was very quick and tasty and offered a nice alternative when we were feeling lazy and just enjoying the room and relaxing.
The main pool was quiet active with lots going on. There was a quiet pool if you wanted to get away from it all. There was lots of activities to take advantage of and nightly entertainment.
One of great things about the Royal is its proximity to Playa del Carmen. A wonderful and safe place to wander around. Great restaurants, bars and cafes. Great shopping where you can find local souvenirs. Must admit, I feel Playa del Carmen is losing a bit of its charm. The corporate world has discovered the town and it is losing some of its local feel. Seeing a huge Burger King in small town Mexico is a bit depressing as is some of the high end stores that seem to be taking over part of the strip. A little tip, if you are serious about shopping then go to Cancun. Prices are better and more variety. Bargains are getting harder to find in Playa, although the remaining local merchants can still be counted on for a fun game of how much will you pay.
Overall had a great time. The staff were all helpful and professional. You could not ask for better service from anyone. From the cleaning staff to the waiters in the restaurants to the concierge, everyone seemed to take pride in their jobs and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.
Will definitely be heading back to the Royal in the near future.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Could be amazing resort
Hotel grounds were immaculate.
All staff were super friendly. All restaurants were very good.
Nightly buffet was disappointing. Mexican every night. Would of been nice to have a Mexican station and some other type of foods.
Beach was also disappointing. Never cleaned up. And very rocky.
Rooms were clean but dark. pillows desperately need replacing.

Resort could be amazing. If a few of these issues were addressed.

This was one of the best holidays that we have ever had. Platinum Yucatan Princess: Treated like royalty!
The staff were exceptional! We were always greeted with a warm smile, from our arrival to our departure. Our room was maintained beautifully, with our beds turned down every night. Our fridge was replenished daily without fail. Our favorite restaurant was the Roma, but we enjoyed the others as well. The food at the buffet was consistently fresh and tasty.

Allegro Cozumel: Excellent for price
Resort is very clean! The resort is dated, needs upgrades.
Rooms - , small room and bathroom also small but clean and no bugs! .
Food - There is 3 restaurants (Mexican- ran out of guacamole! Very disappointed, it's Mexico how do you run out of guacamole?) my only real complaint. Italian was decent but not authentic , Japanese was GREAT! Book there on all options you won't regret it.
Staff- great, friendly but you get the best service the first 3-4 days and then you get leasa attention ? Never ru[... read more]de just not as attentive. Food was ok at the Buffett you will not starve, there is variety of selection. I just found lunch buffet was not that great.
Wifi- Yoi have to pay for it!! And you can hardly pick it up unless you are in the lobby! So walk across the street to Iguanaa's a great family owned restaurant and buy a drink and get free wifi. Literally across the street. We did this everyday and we really got great service and got to know the owners daughter -in law. Great lady and the guacamole there was the best ! What a difference from the hotel. $5USD a day and you got a drink and wifi!
Beach - was beautiful, crystal clear water I was at the beach everyday and water was knee high for a while. unless it rained it was windy it dragged all the seaweed and muck in but that Mother Nature. Put your towel out in the morning before breakfast or you won't get a good spot.
The travel rep- nice lady but she was not good at her job, we asked her about going to playa for the day and where to stay and how much and she didn't know much made one call and said she didn't know where. Playa de carman is worth the trip!!! Beach is packed but you'll find a spot, cheap massage on the beach! Downtown great shops from high end to cheap ones, friendly and safe.
Night life- must get off the resort and go to señor frogs! Especially on Thursday (ladies night free cover and drinks!) the disco at resort was small and never had more than 10 people it. It's make your own party place.
Cozumel - is beautiful!!! And I found it very safe! If you are looking for a good resort for the money this is it! If you are looking for all the extras no this is not a luxury resort. It's for on a budget people. Age ranged from families to 20-28. My girl friends and I are in our 40's and on a budget so this was a good get away trip!!
I would go back if I wanted a cheap vacation that I could feel comfortable knowig it's safe, clean and worry free!!

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Pretty good
The Resort was very nice. I thought the Hideaway did not have near enough chairsspace for the people there. 4 out of the 7 days we were there we ended up going to the other side of the beach because they were all in use by other guest. Same goes for the pool. We should have just saved our money

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: The perfect vacation
The Sian ka'an is situated off the beach, but is only a 5 minute ride to the exclusive beach. You never have to wait longer than a few minutes for a shuttle. It was nice having access to 3 resorts at the same time. The Sian ka'an was more laid back and quiet, but if you were looking for a party it was only a short ride today coba or tulum. Samba Vallarta: Lovely Resort
We left the kiddos behind, spent 5 days at the Samba for our 10th anniversary, and loved our stay at this little resort. We were nervous about staying at a small resort, but quickly realized for us, smaller is better! We felt so comfortable and at home. Not crowded, not loud, not inconvenient, lined up etc. There were always enough tables and beach and pool chairs. (And the Samba is the only resort on that stretch of beach to have palapas, for those of us who like some shade!) The food was great[... read more]! We did both a la carte restaurants and enjoyed them very much. If we would have stayed longer, we would have booked the a la cartes multiple times to taste all of the menu offerings. (It's nice you can even do that, as at the bigger resorts you only get one time at each a la carte) The main buffet is air conditioned and had plenty of yummy things to offer for breakfast lunch and dinner. (Breakfast was my favourite - must go to omelet station for amazing omelets and the secret bacon) The beach snack bar was really quite good as well. Make sure you check under every lid to find the pork chops, pulled pork, beef, and chicken selections if you are not keen on a hot dog or hamburger. Or do the cheezy fries! The beach is beautiful. Didn't see a spec of seaweed or garbage. The pool is also beautiful and very clean. You can walk for miles everyday along the beach. We didn't check out the night entertainment, as we prefered to relax in our room. We got a balcony room with king bed, mini fridge and coffee maker. It was blessedly airconditioned when we needed that, but we also sat out on the balcony quite a bit. The rooms aren't brand new and there were a few signs of the damp climate, but overall very clean and comfortable. Above all else, the service was amazing. That was what made this a 4 star in my opinion. Very attentive, friendly, professional staff. We are looking forward to bringing our kids next time. Also recommend the rhythms of the night excursion and the dolphin experience excursion!

Gran Festivall: crumbling resort
At one time this was an amazing resort. I suspect there has been little to no maintenance since it was built. Large cracks in the pools, room full of mold and children play area/daycare is unsafe -broken equipment and live electrical outlet at the base of a tree in the outdoor playground. The most unsafe part of this resort is the walking bridge to the beach -supports are almost completely rotted through and the concrete has completely fractured through at the top of the bridge
