Not a garden view

Tammy certainly miss directed us on this on. The resort was beautiful except that the garden view room was a view of a pillar, with a highway less than 50m away. It was loud, you couldn’t open the blinds as it was on the main floor, with everyone walking by. She should have known that and told us not to choose this room! I was so annoyed and disappointed. The beach was not 7 miles long, more like 2 km, unless you want to walk beside the highway and a barb wire fence! However, the food was go [... read more]od, the water was warm, and there were a lot of activities to keep you busy. But again, lots of boats running up and down the water front, which I found distracting from the beauty of the beach.

Sandals Negril resort

BAD. Will not recommend. I thought I was in Cuba. Terrible front desk services. Hotel management doesn’t take complaints seriously. Wait for 2 hours to get our rooms despite arrived after 2:30 pm. Typical hotel check in time is 3pm. Lack of communications and no reason was given for room availability and late check in . I will not staying at any Sandals resorts again.

Nice week but…

Got our antigen test 48hrs prior to embarking on our flight to Jamaica. Proof of testing was never requested at airport or upon arrival in Jamaica. Masks in airport and in transit on bus but once at the resort, only had to wear them if going to store, but never really after that as everything was open air. All staff consistently wore their masks throughout the resort. Never seen anyone sick or having caught COVID. Lots of unvaccinated Americans all over the resort though so I guess they ca [... read more]n fly without any vaccination whatsoever so whatever. As far as Sandals Negril, we were not impressed. First time at a Sandals and for twice of what we usually pay for a 5 star resort, we expected a lot. After all, Sandals promotes the Ultra-all-inclusive and second to none service etc…. Got there and were given the wrong room which they claimed was an upgrade. When we booked, that room was actually $300 less per person/wk, no balcony. We requested a Caribbean premium so we could have a balcony as I am a diver and dry my stuff on the balcony after dives. So after showing them what I booked, I requested we get our booked room and not the one that was given to us. So they found me one. Two hours later, we get the room that was booked. Air conditioning unit sounded like a jet engine winding up so we went back to the desk and asked to have someone look at the A/C at which point they said it couldn’t be fixed. After requesting that we get a room that we actually can sleep in, we were advised that we couldn’t get one till tomorrow and to check back in the morning. So first full day at Sandals Negril was spent chasing another room that had to be cleaned at 3 pm. NOT IMPRESSED. So we finally get our new room and the A/C is nice and quiet but didn’t work much. Maybe a bit cool at best so we just gave up and sucked it up for the week and sweating at night. Not a good start but once we settled in, it was a decent week. Drinks are ok but have had way better at other 5 star resorts. Restaurants were pretty good, especially Sundowner which has the best crab cake appetizers I ever had. We went there twice. Italian restaurant was disgusting at best. All 4 of us didn’t eat most of our plates. Just tasted weird like they didn’t know how to cook Italian food. Tapaniaki was good. the main restaurant near the lobby is the one that didn’t require reservations needed but discovered on the evening that we chose to eat there that it was a special private dinner and function for returning Sandals guests only, therefore we couldn’t eat there. This left many couples going from restaurant to restaurant to beg to let us eat although we didn’t have reservations. We luckily got in one but we seen many other couples getting turned around. There were no signs anywhere whatsoever on the resort. They actually told us while reserving the other restaurants that this one didn’t require any reservation and available all week long. Other than that, the week was relaxing with a nice chill feel at this resort. We enjoyed the week as the staff is mostly great and understanding. Not necessarily accommodating but they do listen and appear to care. They try their best and we felt that but I think management is the issue. As far as the Sandals experience, not impressed. The rooms were very dated and were easily the plainest rooms we have ever stayed in any AI resort. We have been to many resort all over the Caribbean, always 5 star and tbh, this was probably the worst of all those for double the price. Ultra-all-inclusive??? If you don’t water ski or wanna go tubing, the same is offered at all 4 couples resorts in Jamaica at half the price and are very similar small resort and chill feeling. The evening shows were pretty plain and/or non existent. Some guy in a saxophone came out and did 3 songs, another guy came out and sang 4 songs and the entertainment was over. None of the advertised white nights or beach parties advertised on the sandals website.(maybe due to Covid but why higher price). This resort is on a very narrow strip of land with the small Negril airport just across the road 30 feet from the room so when the airport shuts down later at night, many of the staff there leave with their little cars with loud mufflers and banging music waking the whole place up unless you pay $5000-$7000 pp/wk for ocean view. And at 6 am, the same people drive in to work with the same cars etc…so never a days break all week. The 7 mile beach is stunning but this resort is full of boats and crap so you can only swim in two roped areas that aren’t very big. The pools are small and well kept except the main pool with the swim up bar near the lobby had a big outside pump that was circulating water all week due to issues with the filtration system I guess. Quite an eye sore. So to sum it up, decent resort with a decent layout with mostly good food other than the Italian restaurant, very dated and plain rooms needing TLC but great service and staff. All 4 of our opinions…save half the cost of this place and pick another 5 star in Negril that isn’t this Sandals. You will have better entertainment, equal or better food/drinks and probably way better accommodations.

Sandals Negril -extremely dissappointing

First lets just say I had expectations having been married at Sandals Negril Resort 25 years ago, and having visited 3 other Sandals resorts early on in our marriage. This year it is our 25th year anniversary year and as such my husband and I thought it would be special to return to the resort as oppose to explore other vacation destinations. The focus is clearly on Butler rooms which the balcony rooms seem to be reserved for. Our room was an incredible disappointment. No outdoor space at all, and the window in the room had a corridor exposure. It is more like a well appointed motel room. No patio, no balcony, just a corridor with guests walking right in front of your window requiring the shutters to be closed when occupied. Our first night was spent in a room that didn't even have a view of the exterior. The window opened to a covered and walled exterior corridor with 2 elevators, housekeeping closets and ice machine, no possible line of sight to sky or garden or outside space at all. In fact I couldn't tell if it was daylight or night since the hall was brightly illuminated with artificial light day and night it was so contained a space. The room in particular was 3105, but 2105 is identically situated. If you get either of those rooms - REFUSE it immediately. The next day they moved us to an adjacent room from which at least one could see sky and a piece of garden , but did not measure up to what SANDALS should be providing. Its a shame. It wouldn't have broken the bank to have provided even a small seating area outside the room to have morning coffee, read a book or even to put your sandy shoes on from. I even had to ask for a towel rack for wet bathing suits to be place outside my door. For the level of supposed luxury you pay for, the room didn't even measure up to a 3 star resort experience. I was also rather disappointed in Sandals attitude. The resort was well aware that we were a returning couple having actually been married at that very resort 25 years ago. I wasn't looking for any sort of free bonus inclusions, but thought it was bad form to not have even left a little note in the room welcoming us back. Even when we were approached for feedback on our stay by the customer service department, they were speechless, and then still did absolutely nothing. I shouldn't say nothing, they did try to SELL us spa services. Apparently it makes no difference if you are married on site or elsewhere in the world. So be it. Lesson learned. The reality is if you don't pay to renew your vows, travel on the specific day of ceremony which was not possible in our case, or purchase extra services like romance packages or butlers, you don't matter at all. Its pretty clear that Sandals has a two tier system now. Very unfortunate. We won't be returning to a Sandals .

A little disapointing

I'll start on a positive for this place. The wait staff at this resort were amazing and extremely friendly, we couldn't ask for better. Now the rest. We were very shocked to find that we didn't have a balcony with our room, when we talked management about this were told this is what you paid for so get over it. A couple that we were traveling with that also booked through you got the same type of room and same response from management. We have been to 5 Sandals resorts over the ye [... read more]ars and have never been treated like this before, when we asked to talk to speak to a superior we were told that they would come and talk to us. This never happened, right up to the last day when we were getting on our bus ride home we were told the same and of course never happened. So we were disappointed with our room and because of the lack of concern by management it put a damper on what should have been a great holiday. We will also air our concerns with top Sandals management, but doubt we will get a response. We will never go to a Sandals again especially since we paid a great deal of money for this.

Amazing resort

The hotel grounds and beachfront was kept immaculate. Our room was thoroughly cleaned daily with lots of fresh towels twice a day and toiletries. Lacking was the replenishment of glass were. There were lots of dinning options The food quality and service were fantastic,But the fish sandwich at the bistro was lacking fish. Water activities and glass bottom were great.Lessons for hobie cat sailing should be prior to use and not scheduled. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Getaway to paradise

My wife and I just returned from Sandels Niegril in Jamaica, we can not say enough good things about this resort. The office staff is great, the bar staff is amazing at all locations throughout the resort, the waitresses/waiters in the restaurants and the breakfast area’s are very accomidating. Entertainment was excellent every night. The personnel that takes care of the beach is amazing, beach is beautiful. I would recommend this resort to anyone.

Just returned from sandals

The hotel is great as was the weather but the employees of this sandals are what makes it special. Beverley,and Kimbelee and Stephen in the loyalty office and Andrea in weddings made our stay exceptional . They made us feel special and an issue we had was solved immediately. We cannot say enough about these people . Thank you again.

Amazing...as usual!!

So this is our 4th stay at this resort and once again it did not disappoint,the staff is phenomenal...they go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable and relaxed as possible,always with a smile and/or singing as they go,they are such a wonderful bunch!!!Now as for the food that too is 5 star,from the seafood to the steak and even the desserts everything was excellent.So our one and only complaint was the room which was very Caribbean(which I liked)but dated and run down,we were told th [... read more]at renovations will be done to them this year as the rest of the resort has already been done and it was quite noisy as the building next to us was for,I believe room service.This is the only resort we've ever been to so we have nothing to compare it to but I believe why mess with something so great so we booked for next year and I'm looking forward to it already.Thanks tripcentral and Kim Hartlan our travel agent.

Great Honeymoon

Sandals Negril was an amazing spot - it not only met but 100% exceeded our expectations. The property, rooms, service, food and beach were spectacular. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there and will be back at some point. Perfect spot to celebrate a honeymoon or anniversary. Thanks again for making us feel at home.

Perfect Honeymoon Getaway!

I could not have asked for a better honeymoon with Sandals Negril. The staff were absolutely perfect-accommodating to all our needs, and the views were GORGEOUS! The food was to die for, each restaurant exceeding all of our expectations. I would highly recommend Sandals Negril if you're looking for a fun, laid back, safe, and exciting experience. We definitely will be back!

Great beach!

Sandals Negril had amazing grounds and gardens, lovely and friendly staff! Nice beach, great offshore snorkelling on reefs. We thought there were too many photographers always trying to sell us pictures and invading our privacy. Food was great at some restaurants but not all.

Amazing second honeymoon

Sandals Negril Jamaica was the absolute best! Best service, best food, beautiful beach and wonderful people We want to go back and stay longer next time It was romantic It was a party It was relaxing Spectacular!!!

Amazing honeymoon

The booking of the trip was flawless and so convenient. The trip itself was amazing. We will be returning. It's beautiful and the staff are so amazing. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone!.

Sooo relaxing :)

I cannot say enough about this resort.We have been South 3 times and this is the only resort we have been to.My saying is...'why mess with a good thing'.The staff is beyond amazing,friendly,accommodating,happy,and hard working,even the locals that hang out on the perimeter of the beach watched my belongings for me.The beach is not huge,but the area I lay in I have more than enough space,but the other area of the beach is slowly getting smaller.We only had one issue and that was the location of o [... read more]ur room which was by the dining room,so when the staff was getting ready for the day it was very noisy at 5 am(but we did not complain,we had a nice view).

Not at all what I expected

Not as grand as the pictures it's getting old food was terrible they have the staff entertaining you at night I would never do a sandals again not worth the money The only good thing I can say is that the staff was nice

Amazing Resort

The resort and beach were beautiful. From the simple grilled food at the beach Bistro to the fine dining restaurants, all the food was amazing. To top it all off, the staff was extremely friendly and will make sure your having the time of your life.

Best resort I've ever been to!

This was by far the best experience I've had at a resort (and I've been to about 6 before). The service was top notch, the rooms were clean and spacious and the food was unreal. My wife and I are both personal trainers as well so we always try to find a place with a good fitness centre and we were floored with what we found - good equipment, lots of dumbbells, and quality cardio machines as well. Overall the experience was amazing.

Sandals Negril is paradise.

During my stay, butler suite concierge was an amazing perk. The resort is simply beautiful, lots of activities present, friendly patrons and staff who are willing to go the extra mile to ensure your stay is memorable. Booking tours and sightseeing is simple and efficient. On site photographers ensure that your trip is a lasting memory (for an extra charge in the photoshop). Dining was impeccable, from Barefoot by the Beach, to Kimonos and La Cucina Romana. Diverse and delicious.
