A special place

Relatively small hotel, quiet, peaceful. Important information: No classic beach. Instead, a great access to the water from small cliffs. Step ladders mounted to the cliff walls. Crystal clear water, excellent snorkeling. One larger swimming pool and two smaller ones. A very homey small restaurant. Excelled food, all simple, Jamaican dishes cooked on the spot by a mamma type chef, batch by batch. Everything super fresh. This means sometimes you must wait few minutes until it is ready.  [... read more]The wine is not included in all-inclusive, but available for cash. There is a free shuttle bus to Legends hotel (7min drive), which has a traditional, shallow and sandy beach. Also great water. Accommodation - nothing too fancy, but absolutely sufficient. At the price tag $2000 per person per week this is a bit too expensive for the value, but I met people there who managed to get the same for smaller amounts. Well, there is another building (newer, I think) with more luxurious rooms. I do not know the costs of those.

Great trip to Samsara, can't wait to retrurn

We loved that it was a small resort, on the cliffs, close to 7 mile beach. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was very good. Only downfall was that the wine was not included in the all-inclusive pkg. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing getaway.

Great stay

It’s a really beautiful spot. Small family run hotel. If you’re into big all inclusive chains this isn’t the spot for you. If you enjoy quieter off the beaten path locations this is a lovely spot. We didn’t do all inclusive but there were lots of great spots within walking distance. I much preferred this location then the beach but we walked down to legends (owned by same family) or took the free shuttle

Home away from home

This was my third time staying at Samsara . They make you feel very welcome there. As a returning guest ,they had upgrade my room to next to the ocean which was so lovely. Many of the staff remember me from before. Loved the food and drinks. Cant beat fresh fish.I loved seeing the new addition to the resort and the new pool was wonderful.This is a fairly small resort so you get to know the staff and other guest. I made friends there 5 years ago and we all met there again. Its great they have a s [... read more]huttle to take you to the beach at there sister resort. I had a great time and would return! Samsara Awesome Again

5th time between Samsara & Legends. Every time we are impressed with all the staff, wish I could remember all your names; Kendrick, Jennifer, Tina, Marcia and Kimmi. So friendly and gracious. Food is limited but always good. A great place to use as a launch board to explore the West end and Negril. If you want a 5 star hotel that you never leave and could really be on any island, maybe this isn't for you! The newer building built during covid is our choice.

Just what we needed!

Location is everything and Samsara did not disappoint. All the staff were great. However Tina at the bar was definitely a stand out and likely deserves a promotion and a raise! Pools and grounds were also extremely well maintained. Nester was very accommodating and helpful during our stay as well .. on the downside the all inclusive menu was limited and food was marginal and could be improved easily.. Norman and Jr are the taxi guys. They are both incredible and will definitely help you out if you need to go anywhere.. Stick with them! Samsara has the best of both worlds and is a place we will definitely consider returning too in the future!

Just what we needed

We really liked this resort. It was very small and we were left alone to relax. There was very few people staying at the resort. We just relaxed. We cliff jumping was fun and the infinity pool was glorious. The breakfast was really good. The drinks were not weak but wine was not included in the all inclusive. The staff was lovely and very helpful. We stayed in the garden cottages and it was spacious and lovely. It was sometimes noisy because the cottages are somewhat attatched to each other. ROOMS: Love at first sight. We were in the Sea Vuz units on the first floor, steps away from the infinity pool with spectacular views of the cliffs. Modern, clean. Just bring your own hair dryer, body wash and so on.  SERVICE: We were very happy - friendly, attentive staff. More variety can easily be found in the local restaurants in the area if desired. Wide variety of drinks on the all inclusive menu.  CLEANLINESS: Spic and span. Always someone cleaning around the property. VIEWS: Stunning views of the cliffs, but there is an opportunity for beach views at sister property Legends. A free shuttle goes there twice a day. 

Adequate if you are not picky

This resort has the greatest vibe. Friendly people and nice grounds in a great location. Overall the hotel is quite rundown and the food for the all inclusive was very good but obviously done on a budget. An example, for dinner might be steamed veggies and a frozen hamburger patty. Did not see a leaf of lettuce all week and there was limited fruit which was surprising in Jamaica. Beds are a double bed not queen and hard.

An OK Resort

We were greeted friendly by the staff..rooms are clean but could use a reno, food was ok but nothing to write home about. I think breakfast should be a bit earlier for anyone going out on a tour. Disappointed that they didn't serve Blue Mountain coffee on the resort. Even though we probably didn't pay as.much as some resorts it was more than what we got.

Perfect for us!

We love this resort! It is exactly what we wanted - a smaller cliff-top resort with an all included option. If you are a picky eater, you wont enjoy the home-cooked Jamaican buffet; if you like yoga on the beach and coordinated pool aquatics complete with instructor and loud music, you won't enjoy the relaxing atmosphere on the cliffs; if you like luxurious linens and marble entranceway, you won't enjoy the simple and comfortable rooms at SamSara...however, if you are looking for a smaller re [... read more]sort with top notch staff, clean rooms with breath taking views, taking a real dip in the ocean by jumping off the cliff, snorkeling along the cliff reefs, incredible sunsets, and sharing these moments with travellers who return to SamSara time after time for these very reasons, then you have found your Eden! This was our 4th trip to SamSara and we will return next year. I would recommend this hotel to anybody who wants a true Jamaican experience with the freedom to explore your surroundings.

We loved it!!

This hotel is not for everyone but we absolutely loved it. If you are looking for a big, busy, bustling, all inclusive with tons of activities, then this is NOT the place for you. If you are looking to rest, relax and enjoy a beautiful view of the ocean and stunning sunsets, then this is the perfect place. Never had to search for loungers, great snorkeling right in front. I would have to say that I would not recommend this hotel for young families as I would be nervous with the cliffs and the narrow roadway in front, but it would be great for families with teens and perfect for adults. It isn't a 5 star hotel so things are a little rough around the edges but nothing that could not be overlooked and it was very clean.

Great relaxing time

Hotel rooms were spacious and comfortable. Clean place. Cliffs were awesome and the pool was great. Very chill place to just lay back and enjoy the ocean. Food was good, but not a great variety their restaurant across the street had amazing food.

Our perfect resort

This was our second visit to Samsara in as many years. The staff remembered us, and we were happy to see some familiar faces continuing to work there. The family that owns this resort lives in the next property, and are always somewhere on the resort remodeling or fixing along side the staff. The resort is on the cliff side of Jamaica, so no beach. There isn't a bunch of processed food, and not a lot of sweets. Thanks to Kerry anne, very good food. Our favorite server at the bar and in the dining room is Owayne. We were so glad to see him there again this year. His smile and personality are worth a million bucks. The rooms are spacious and updated. We have no complaints about this resort. Just remember to bring your own beach towel.

Quiet, relaxing, friendly

Great experience. Staff were friendly and very attentive. Grounds are nice and clean but no 5 star level, nor do they claim to be. The location is absolutely amazing for anyone who loves to snorkel, swim, cliff jump, and relax. No one will bother you to sell something. The sunsets are beautiful. You are just a few kilometres away from the famous Rick's Cafe and many great restaurants. Supermarkets and smaller restaurants are close as well (less than 3 minute walk). Very quiet and relaxing resort!

A great hotel for people that like a very quiet and rustic Jamaican vibe. If you prefer quiet to nightlife this place is for you. The views are stunning, food absolutely fantastic and home cooked. The servers were rather rude and didn't seem to want to be there. Room service was very unreliable and the shower never stayed the same temperature. Time of our life!

This was truly a dream vacation. My son, 12, and I, spent 3 weeks at Samsara. Our home away from home. The staff were lovely, friendly, fun, very professional. The grounds were lush, pretty, incredibly well kept. The Grounds Keeper worked so hard to insure a beautiful property. Rooms were cozy and imaculate. We felt safe and very well taken care of at all times. If you're looking for excitement, only a few min drive to the hustle n bustle. This hotel offers a free Shuttle to their Sister Hotel, Legends, right on 7 Mile Beach. Such a nice added touch, best of both worlds. Food, home style cooking made with lotsa love. Kitchen and Wait Staff are fantastic. Happy, always singing and dancing, welcoming, efficient. Breakfast omelets were the bomb! Fresh fruit everyday. Local cuisine. Amazing Italian Restaurant on site as well. The Hotel is surrounded by a vast array of other restaurants close by which is always fun to venture and experience. The pool was perfect size, very clean. It's a quiet resort so never a shortage of lawn chairs. I cried for 3 days leading to check out/departure, dreading to leave this piece of paradise, slice of heaven! There aren't enough words to describe my love for Jamaica, the people, the culture, the vibe and energy but also this quaint, family operated gem. I can't wait to return to my happy place!

Scenery

A little bonus about this resort, is that it seems to naturally an adults resort as it is set on the ciffs not the beach. I loved the area and the cliffs. Take a cataraman asd see the coast from sea ! You can sorkel along the coast ffrom the hotel. Simple and quiet

Very clean and quiet, no evening entertainment bar closes at 10pm. People were very friendly and willing to help if asked. Cliff jumping and snorkelling were fun.Food could use some additional variety but was simple and edible.

Great place to relax

This was a great little low key resort not a big party not a lot of action but beautiful views great swimming and snorkeling stuff very friendly and helpful authentic Caribbean food a wonderful place to relax on the clips of Jamaica we will return most definitely
