Friendly little resort, solid 3.5 stars

A typical 3.5 star resort, a bit run down.The grounds were kept clean, however tables and chez loungers were disgustingly dirty at all times. The food is tailored to the Brits liking, a typical English breakfast and deserts, not much of a variety. The room cleaning was good and thorough. All in all it's a pleasant resort, with beautiful views and sunsets, monkey visits and a friendly crowd.

A good resort for non beach goers

It would be a plus is a fan was installed instead of a light. No beach on the resort. The receptionist was uninformed and did not answer our questions. She just hung up when we called. Food was goos and service was very good.

VERY DISAPPOINTING RESORT

The whole resort was disappointing. The rooms are rundown and in the particular the washrooms are disgusting. The food was not great. When they had a buffet it was especially bad. The breakfasts were OK, but the rest of the food was not good. It was a boring vacation. No entertainment. It was very expensive. We paid twice as much as at any other resort we have been to such as a Riu or Grand Bahai resort. Also there are added charges when you get to the resort. Laid-back small resort

-Great and friendly staff who smile and accommodate guests! -good food selection, even for vegetarians! -good selection of drinks but no monitor (it was low season) -crabs and lots of snails on the beach (nothing anyone can do about it) -artifical beach where sun chairs are -very tiny beach area -vendors on beach were annoying -good resort area with shops in walking distance -no 24-hour snacks nor drinks -room service costs $15/use -the resort shop was useless (they barely opened and  [... read more]when they were, very limited selection) -cockroaches seen on first floor -very quiet (not for parties) but it was during low season (July) -the night entertainment was just okay and ended before midnight -the front desk did not have American cash for change (I needed it for tips) -we were greeted very well with an offer for drinks -the ocean view was amazing but since the resort was empty, not sure why I couldn't get a proper balcony -I had requested 2 beds but got 1 king. Had to get a room change -No elevator on resort but 3 floors, so not good for people with disability issues -only 1 main restaurabt available -security guard but seen here and there -no life guard on site -slippery rocks when walking down steps to beach -great trampoline in the ocean! Need one more! -one vendor sat right in front of me at the beach and clipped his nails -another vendor kept bothering me to buy excursions from him (rude passive-aggressive behaviour) -great towel service! -washroom downstairs was like an ice-box! -washroom was located right at the stage; so very awkward to go use bathroom when there were performances Great excursions and service from Air Canada rep!

The Club-Barbados!

The resort is rustic (made of wood construction and not a concrete jungle), has character, is centrally located and is a nice and safe walk to Holetown and Chattel Shops and the closeby Duty Free store. Our room was on the lower level and faced the water front which was simply great! Room was clean, tidy and habitable. Took us a couple of days to get used to the pillows! Evening din [... read more]ners were al la carte in both restaurants but required reservations which was a bit of a task (as we did forget to do so a couple of times). We were not served any fresh crabs (only in patty form) or lobster during our 7 day stay and I guess the management could do better here. Fresh fruits were available but no papaya, sugar apple or plums. Watermelon, pineapple, melons, apple and oranges were served fresh. I love the local Bajan cuisine. Lovely local folks and hard working staff. Durwayne (hope I spelt his name correctly), the bartender (Beach bar and Lobby bar) was excellent. Remembered guests names. Bravo and thank you for the 10 year old Rum and your super service. We wish him every success! The security guards were professional and friendly and you could have a decent conversation with them!

Great vacation

the hotel is small and quiet, very relaxing, rooms are well kept and clean. The water sports are wonderful and staff very pleasant and helpful. the restaurant food was well prepared and plentiful, however we stayed 10 days and would have liked a bit more variety in the menu. There is no elevator in this hotel, so if you can not do stairs, make sure you book a room on the ground floor. we were given a room on the 4th floor, however the last flight was a spiral stair case, which I can not do. They [... read more] quickly found us a ground floor room. not much of a beach at this hotel, they do have lounge chairs set up on a sandy strip raised up from the water, which is nice, but if you are looking to walk the water front there isn't really any here. Stephan at the activities team was very helpful and a pleasure to meet.

Below expectation

Hotel is old pools cracked no wait stuff araund pool area, food typical resort food, very strange dress code. Not worth money they are charging, poor entertainment. Stuff very nice and fiendly. Be aware there are rooms faci g washrooms and trip central does not tell you that and does not help you No beach enterence in ocean hard

Amazing resort

All the staff went above and beyond the call of duty. To ensure that we had a incredible. Stay. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are large and clean and bright we loved our large balcony overlooking the ocean will definitely be back

Very Basic Hotel with OK Food

Very basic hotel with ok food. Almost as good as a 3 star Cuban resort we stayed at years ago. Front Desk Check in was slow and overly tedious. The bellman brought us a form to fill out in advance but was chastised by the front desk girl because she reprinted the form in error. (she forgot it was handed to her). Making customers wait seemed to be all part of the fun of her job. Rooms When we arrived our bathroom was musty and moldy and the floors were dirty. My allergies were terrible. After [... read more] complaining to the tour rep the next day, ...they did come and clean with lots of bleach. Then on the third day they offered to let us change rooms which we declined. The maid still insisted on draping a stained bed scarf across the foot of the bed every day and putting a 4' long dirty round pillow on our bed. I finally hid them in the dresser. The king size bed was quite comfortable but the meager pillows ( 5 of them with wrinkly cases) left a bit to be desired. Lighting in the room made reading difficult at best. We had a beautiful patio door overlooking the pool area but had to use the access from the parking lot to enter our room. Beach This hotel does not have a beach. There was some rocky access to the water but that was it. You could walk up a couple properties and get some sand. The pools were all very shallow but clean. Entertainment was very sad. They had something every night but it was very boring. Usually just instrumental, old fashioned and poorly done. There was a female singer one night that was passable. Food in both restaurants was passable, ...but nothing special. Having Heather cook your eggs was a highlight most mornings and the omelete girl was very good as well. The breakfast buffet fair was mediocre at best. Half cooked bacon and under cooked hash browns served with way overcooked dry sausages. The fresh fruit and croissants were very welcome. Lunch was better with a pasta bar some days and a station that did burritos, wraps etc. that changed daily. Most of the soups were very well done. I actually would prefer a beach hut for lunch because having to go back to the room to dress was a bit much! For dinner you must make reservations in advance, ... and served a la carte in the main restaurant 5 out of 7 days. We ate at Enid's once but found the restaurant stuffy and service pace way too slow. Staff. There were some excellent staff, ...but they were outnumbered by their poor counterparts. Some were downright rude. Why the hotel employs people like that is beyond me! Some of our favorite staff was Roslin at the hostess station. Always smiling and laughing and was sure my friend with a cane was close to the buffet etc. Reah was our favorite waitress. Always smiling and helpful with anything you asked. Adrian was our favorite bartender, ... always smiling and courteously making sure your drink was freshened. This was off season and the most I have ever paid for a week away. I doubt I will ever return to Barbados and I would not even consider this hotel if I did.

Mediocre resort

Resort was clean and well maintained . People were very nice and hospitable . However a few concerns , this resort is no good for young people , resort caters to seniors + 60 years of age . Entertainment and activities were very lacking , specially in the day time . Wifi access was very weak and no reception in the rooms. Food variety was no good and pool chairs were very limited . A very pleasant surprise

We went on this 10 day vacation we knew Barbados would not disappoint. We really enjoyed the resort, although older it is being very well maintained and improvement are constantly ongoing. Two restaurants and they offered a wide variety of options. The staff were all very helpful and really made it a very enjoyable stay. The spa is wonderful so make time for a treatment, the bamboo massage was my fav. Good central location as well. We would go back again.

Nice resort

Liked that it was small. The food was good which I am glad given there were only 2 restaurants. Had very little daytime activities. Some days they posted activities and it never happened. The overall service I would rate 3 out of 10. Management staff are polite and friendly. The bar and waitress staff were unfriendly, darn right rude on a couple of occasions.

Fantastic resort!

Had an amazing vacation. The hotel is in a wonderful location. We stayed in an Oceanview loft that was fabulous. Food was excellent. Staff was amazing and made you feel right at home. Sunsets were all you could ever wish for. Fabulous island to visit. Highly recommended!

The Club Barbados

Vey comfortable, particularly grateful for the no children policy. The grounds were very attractive and well maintained. My room was particularly large. The food and service were excellent. I enjoyed the shallow water fitness class as well as the use of the exercise room, had a massage and a facial. All in all I returned home refreshed and rested.

Lots of R and R!

The Club Barbados is the place to go if you are looking to rejuvenate and relax. The facility is well maintained and the grounds itself is beautiful. I love the intimate small resort setting which allows you to meet people and also incorporate romance with your partner. The people that are employed at The Club are exceptional and they make you feel special from the moment you arrive. The only draw back for us would have to be the entertainment. I do understand the resort caters to an older crowd [... read more] therefore entrainment follows suit but, you also have to consider younger guests and they can become repeat guests in the future for the hotel too. Overall, great resort!!!

The Club Barbados Resort is a great place

The landscaping was beautiful. Great choice of food. The staff was very helpful hope to come back next year. You should take a taxi and visite the hole island it very beautiful. While your there don't forget to visite oistins we're the fishermen bring there catch of the week and cook it for the visitors and the merchants beautiful crafts.
