The whole holiday was amazing!!

This was undoubtedly thee best all inclusive resort we have ever stayed in. The food was amazing the hotel was amazing the staff was very helpful and courteous The Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo area was beautiful. Eden our travel agent went over and above to help us make this one of the best holidays we have ever had!!

Great resort

This is a really nice resort with lots of amenities. Some notes. There is no swim up bar. There is a beach bar and pool bar with waiters. They are great. No music or entertainment. This is a pro and a con I think. We took our own speaker and played our own music quietly, it worked well. The food is very good. The Brisas II restaurant outside is amazing!! Food is fantastic (have the tomato soup!). The Italian restaurant is also good. Did not care for the Mexican. The buffet is pr [... read more]etty good, lots of options. You can also ask for a menu and depending on your plan it's also included so keep it in mind. We had the beach club option, it was worth it. If gives you a small buffet breakfast on the 20th floor. As well as a nightly happy hour from 6-7 with snacks. We found it well worth it. You won't get any drinks in your room, but if you are beach club then you can take drinks from the bar there to your room. For example we took a couple of beer to enjoy on our balcony daily and kept them in our fridge. It was nice. The bed was great, we had a king size. I find with many resorts the bed is typically terrible, this was the first time that it was awesome. The beach is private, again pro and con. No vendors, but also if you want to walk the beach its short back and forth and can get boring. The waves are deadly b/c of the small bay. I got rolled on the first day and I'm still paying for it on my knee!! Not good, do not your back on a wave!!!! Tough lesson learned! The people are friendly, again it's quiet. It's a much older crowd. We are mid 50s and I would say the avg age is 70. Easy walk to Ixtapa to explore. Enjoyed it.

General review

We went for a week and found the hotel comfortable and amenities were good. Lovely private beach and the pool had a beautiful view and was clean and nice. Lots of walking between the two to consider when booking. Plus lots of steps to get up and down to the pool from the beach. Food was ok. Buffet was good. More inclusive resteraunt choices would have been great. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Memories

Once again we spent our week at this amazing hotel and were not disappointed. Fantastic service by one of our favourites Jorge! The hotel was not crowded, the food was plenty and the scenery- breathtaking. I do have a little advice to first time travellers. BRING 20 pesos denominations. We had a horrible time trying to break large bills. No one seems to carry 20’s so we were tipping bigger than usual. Not that it wasn’t worth it, but it’s nice to have the option. We went to Ixtapa island for the second time, it was beautiful but the water was a little murky and even though we did see fish, not as many as last year. We took a cab ourselves instead of the excursion which we liked better. (We brought our own gear as well). This resort is a definite YES for quiet, alone time with a perfect view and service. Not for Everyone

The good We got a great deal on a Junior Suite with Jacuzzi . We arrived late due to delayed flight and were greeted with a small buffet set up for just us late arrivals. Nice touch. Check in was quick and painless. At the pool and beach you are served at your lounge. Felt pampered all we [... read more]ek. Now the not so good. Main Buffet was repetative and a little less than you might expect at 4 star Mexico. It was a long trek from the beach to the pool area.Bar and food service was only available at the beach or pool. I am used to a lobby or other such bar available during the day. There was no nightly entertainment or disco and the last bar closes at 11:30 pm so I would definitely not recommend this for the young partying crowd.If you like to mingle with locals there are none on the beach as it is private.Not all guests are all inclusive so they check your status by room number everytime you eat or drink . On the last day after check out time we were told at lunch that our all inclusive had ended at noon despite our 520 pm departure time.A trip to the front desk solved this and they finally gave us lunch. The confusion seemed to continue all afternoon as we had to explain we were with Sunwing and were still all inclusive eligible.The hotel is a little isolated from the downtown area of Ixtapa so its a short cab ride in. All in all I would recommend this for anyone looking for a layed back ,relaxing and quiet vacation. If you are looking for action and party time better look at one of the resorts on the public beach downtown Ixtapa

Good resort but....

We spent a week in this hotel in January 2020. We found all things mostly pleasing as in previous year which brought us back this year. The people are great there although communication with English was difficult outside of the reception and concierge desk. The guarded beach is great there however swimming was to tough for us due to the strong undercurrent. We were pleased with the food and rooms. Despite reporting it to the security and front desk I did not get them back. It was one day when the room (2107) was cleaned by a different person and perhaps a bit careless. I would not like to make the life of the person difficult but such things are unacceptable and be avoided and cleaning personal instructed better. On a better side, the paramedic staff was very helpful when I needed their help with my injured big foot finger.

Great Resort

Built on a hillside overlooking a secluded sandy beach. All units have private balconies facing the ocean. QUIET!! No loud amplified music on the pool decks or beach areas. Excellent food at the seafood and Italian restaurants ( we didn't try the Mexican restaurant.). The buffet food was not as good.Hotel offered a free bike tour on the superb public bike path in Ixtapa as well a a naturalist guided bird walk on Sunday am. Breathtaking

I have read so many reviews and for the most part, they were so true. The views are breathtaking, the service was outstanding. The rooms were cleaned daily. Slight repairs were being done by the pool area and the workers were respectful of everyone relaxing. (What do you expect when the sun beats down on the patio and salt is dragged up constantly, we saw very few people use the numerous showers available to rinse). The buffet has a range of food to suit ANYONES appetite so if you’re reading differently in here, those people are likely very unhappy in their lives and do nothing but complain anywhere they go. The beds were comfortable and plenty of pillows to choose from, 6 in total. We were so exhausted every day from the beach and pool, we had no time to figure out if our heads liked the pillows.... or if we even cared. George and Christian were the only ones we had a privilege of serving us poolside. The only thing we had to say was that we had to ask them to stop bringing drinks over every 10 minutes...LOL!! Holy cow the service is a 10 outta 5!! After calculating if we went out in Ontario, what we would tip, we adjusted our thinking accordingly and tipped daily. It was appreciated by everyone....including maid service, drivers... We went snorkeling at Ilsa Ixtapa and there are no words to describe the food, the beauty of the beach, the kindness of everyone around us. Wow, wow, WOW! We, every once and a while would see a cigarette butt left on our beach, instead of complaining in a review, we bent down and picked them up and tossed them in the many garbages around the resort....with our own. The only thing I can say which isn’t really a negative is, a tiny bit of back ground music other than the restaurants and buffets would be nice. It didn’t bother us because we had music on our phones and in our room. This resort is a perfect R&R resort. Never a rush to go anywhere or do anything. Yes, there are ALOT of stairs, but we felt it was a great way to work off everything we ate once and a while. We loved every second of every minute we spent there and will most definitely return. Las Brias is amazing!!!

Amazing Resort

All views from this hotel and grounds are amazing. This resort is separate from the main beach which offers privacy and quiet. The grounds are kept very clean. The staff is so helpful and friendly. We found the food on the resort a lot better than most. Plus you are close to adventure into the main parts of Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo.

Totally relaxing resort

Beside offering huge spacious rooms all with a view of the beach, this hotel offered the best food we have ever been served at any other resort. The pool areas offered both sun and shade and best of all they were quiet-no constant music blaring. One could read or snooze and we were able to visit without shouting. Beach area is very private and clean

Las Brisas Ixtapa

Loved the seclusion of the resort. We thought the food could have been better. I guess we were looking for a bit more authentic Mexican Cuisine. We would probably go back again but would eat more meals off-resort. Staff was really friendly, helpful and always happy.

Beautiful Resort, Amazing Food!

The Las Brisas is a stunning building in a beautiful location. The grounds are immaculate with the feeling of being in the jungle. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially the Air Canada Vacations representative who met us at the airport and was available every day in the hotel. The food has to be the best food we have experienced in our many visits to Mexico. The beach is private so there are no vendors. It's a large resort built on the side of a hill so there is lots of walking requ [... read more]ired. Fortunately the elevators were reliable so we could avoid the stairs. Anyone with mobility problems will find the location challenging as the ramps beside the stairs are quite steep. The only criticism would be that the building is starting to show it's age. Minor maintenance issues in our room, such as a loose towel rod and a loose bathroom door knob.

Bad Hospitality

Luckily this place has location going for it otherwise it would have been the worst resort I have ever visited. Apparently here “all inclusive” means “somewhat inclusive” as many menu items and drinks were not included in the plan, in addition to rationing room amenities like coffee, water and mini beers. Only one serving per day per room, despite double occupancy. The absolute worst part though was after our check out at 11am our bands were confiscated even though our bus wasn’t arri [... read more]ving until 5pm so we were forced to either not eat or drink, leave the property (in a cab that charges more and gives back to the hotel) or pay outrageous prices for substandard product at the hotel. When we tried to contest we were treated like delinquents and brushed off. Two words sum up the experience perfectly: Bad Hospitality. In an extremely competitive market one would think the last impression the resort would want to make was accommodating.

Unique but Amazing!!

If you want total relaxation, then this resort is for you!!! You never have to worry about saving lounge chairs no matter what part of the day it is. The views on this resort are breathtaking, especially in the lobby bar. This resort is all about service, thus, you just can't walk up to a bar and get a drink, they will bring it to you quickly!! We spent most of our time in the pool area and Jorge and Victor are probably the two best waiters I have ever come across since I have been visiting [... read more] all parts of Mexico the past 10 years. The 3 al la carte restaurants are very good, especially the Las Brisas II where you can watch the beautiful sunset. You can walk into town which takes 10 minutes but coming back you may want to take a cab (which is cheap by the way) because it is a steep climb up back into the resort. We love Ixtapa but we especially like Zihuatanejo for its awesome restaurants and Mexican culture. Finally, a big thanks to Tracy at Trip Central in making this trip a very special one for us!!

Service ++++

We have been traveling for the last 20 years to resorts and my wife and and I have come to an agreement... Las Brisas has been our best experience to date, all rooms are Ocean view, awesome food , fantastic beach and really great service!!! Highly recommend the Ixtapa area and highly recommend Las Brisas!!

Lovely location

The three restaurants we went to were great, food and service excellent. The beach was beautiful and enough chairs for everyone, the releasing of the turtles was really cool.Pools for everyone, adult pool, wadding pool and kids pool. The lounging chairs were a bit worn down but lots of them. More straight chairs near the pools would have been great for people with mobility difficulties as the lounge chairs were quite low. Very low key hotel, so if you are looking for relaxation rather than activities this is the place.

Las Brisas real nice but not a typical resort

Great resort with sunsets every night No bars in the resort and no entertainment therefore real quiet Excellent beach but under tows Excellent service but all inclusive plan has limitations on selection

Las Brisas Ixtapa

The Las Brisas Ixtapa was very nice but it was interesting that even though we paid for all inclusive they did things much differently than we were used to for all inclusive. You only had buffets for breakfast every day and Saturday and Monday nights. Other than that you ordered off a menu. You didn't wear a wrist band and had to sign a chit for everything you ordered. There were items on the menu that you had to pay extra for. In the A la Carte restaurants there were many items not included in  [... read more]"the plan"! We had to pay cash for lunch before we left as you get lunch the day you arrive and only breakfast on the day you leave. This does not make much sense since we didn't get in and settled in time for lunch when arrived and had to wait until 2pm to be picked up to go to the airport. The staff was awesome and meals were good. The other thing is this hotel has feather pillows and feather ticks on the bed. Not so good if you are allergic to feathers. The West Jet rep we had down there was reasonably helpful but told us we should have been able to have lunch before we left. All in all it was a good place to stay.

One and all

Location is marvellous it's our 7 th time there grounds are impeccable view is a million $ Quiet and lovely food is great although it went down a notch now you can only dine 3 restaurants a la carte . Service is great drinks are the best. Rooms are super simple but facing 180 on the ocean!! Anxious they don't make you sign a bill each time / always a distinction bee tween all inclusive and not all inclusive in attitude from staff overall of course we ll return there's no other place like it!

My new favorite place...

We stayed at the Las Brisas during the Christmas week of 2013 and it was great. The staff here were awesome, everyone from front desk to beach staff. The beach itself was great, waves were big enough for the teenage kids to boogie board but not too big to cause any worries (although some days were close). The beach staff were awesome, they actually ran back and forth to serve everyone and seemed disappointed if you served yourself. Food and drinks were great on the beach as well. We did not have [... read more] a bad meal or experience the whole week, it was fabulous. We've been on numerous Mexican vacations to AI resorts and this has been our favorite. The rooms were spacious and every room has a beautiful ocean view with a big patio seating area complete with hammock. I honestly cannot think of one negative point to mention. I don't normally visit the same resort twice as we like to try new places, but I will be visiting here again soon.
