Sea Garden Beach Resort

Nice hotel, great staff except for the bartenders who have no personality and are rude. Food was good and the Italian Restaraunt was wonderful. The beach is a cove across the street and the water is as warm as bath water. The lifeguards are not attentive at all they spend all day out of their post following the girls around. Granted it is a cove and not deep at all so very low probability of an incident but they are paid to pay attention as there were a lot of little ones around. Beautiful beach and wonderful staff.

We stayed a week at the Sea Garden resort. It has a great location 5 minutes from the airport and hip strip. The hotel is charming with well kept rooms and grounds. The staff were lovely, always doing their best to ensure a comfortable stay. The beach is breathtaking with snorkeling, kayaks, and floaties available for guest use. Food was always consistently good and their coffee was delicious. We hope to return again sometime soon.

Awesome resort!

This was my 3rd visit to Jamaica and 3rd stay at Sea Garden. I love the "family" feel, the staff are amazing, the grounds are beautiful, food is great, the beach is beautiful and the price point is affordable. I can't say enough about this resort. Absolutely love it!

Exactly as pictured

This resort was lovely and great value. The room was spacious and clean. Water in the shower needed to be run for a while to get hot water. The staff was friendly. Angie was stellar and her friendly face every morning greeting us at breakfast was a great way to start the day. The beach is pristine and the water was the perfect temp. Music played on the beach [... read more] made for a really fun and relaxing environment. The steel drum band was a highlight of the trip for me! I didn't use the pool at all because the beach is so perfect. It has a roped off cove that makes the whole beach have a very intimate feel. It looks exactly like the promo photos! You have to cross a small dead end road to get to the beach but there is a crossing guard, not that one is really necessary. I was concerned about this before going but I think it was a blessing in disguise having the beach separate from the rest of the resort. The food at the buffet is mostly Jamaican (jerk chicken, stewed beef, curried goat, fried white fish) and it was delicious but they do also have some American options like mac'n'cheese. The food on the beach was excellent and they served jerk chicken, cheeseburgers, fries, and some other options I didn't try. The jerk chicken on the beach was so tender and delicious! Best chicken I've had in recent memory. For breakfast there is also an omlette option and it served the best omlette I've ever had custom made in front of the guests. The disco/nightclub is small, which isn't a problem but the music was SO loud. Too loud. One night they had great music but then other nights the music was out of touch with the vibe of the guests. The drinks are made very strongly. I personally like some coke in my rum and cokes so I was a little put off, but I'm sure this would be a good thing for some people. The hotel coffee is terrible. Luckily the resort is only a 10 minute walk from a Starbucks at a brisk pace. Overall I had a very positive stay here and I would come back in a heartbeat!

Can’t say I have one complaint with my stay at this resort. Our room was a garden view, clean fresh and inviting. Maids did a fantastic daily cleaning always cheerful and friendly. Maintenance promptly sent to replace burnt out light bulbs and plugged sink. Desk staff went beyond with our requests when going off resort looking out for our safety from cab service to restaurant choices and shopping etc. Serving staff always pleasant throughout entire resort. Public washrooms always clean and s [... read more]tocked. Grounds cease beautiful and well kept. It is a smaller resort but exactly as I wanted. Location close to town and airport making it so easy to go out shopping or dining Call local cab driver Ron 876-453-2312 if you want trusted “ honest”service from shopping to great prices out into the country/excursions. Very mannerly, funny, friendly as well as a great driver. After being taken $$$$ by another cab driver/shop it was a pleasure to have been pointed to Ron who took us shopping and accompanied us finding what we were looking to purchase as well took us to reputable shops and not being overcharged

Great resort

Perfect size resort. Beach and pool very nice. Food in several spots. Italian restaurant was great. Very clean and workers very nice. I would go again. The sunset view from our balcony was beautiful. Debbie and Susan

Classic

I love this place. Our room was located on the garden side, on the second floor. Super clean, good food great staff. Beach is great, fun water sport available, we had a great time. The only thing I could complain about is no coffee machine in the room. You need to get it in the lobby and walk back to your room.

Loved it!!

This is an older resort but has great character in all the buildings details. Our room faced the sea and was only minutes walk to every thing. The staff were nice and helpful. The beach was the best!!! Its sectioned off nicely so you dont feel crowded and a great jerk chicken and fries.They served a great variety of jamican food! The pool was nothing but the hot tub was great. Great nightly performances and daily activities. And only a 15/20 minute walk to hip street!! Good resort

Entrance could be more better in order to give a first impression. Rooms in older blocks need renovation. New block is very good. We got upgraded from the old block to the new one as night disco was ver disturbing as it was right below. Two nights we had a bit of problem, but rest of the days were good. More night entertainment required with variety.

Good resort

This was our second time at this hotel in 3 years. We feel comfortable in this hotel as it is small so that everybody remembers you, even the staff after 3 years. The check in was quick and easy, the person helping us with our luggage to our room was very pleasant and told me I look like the funz (Henry Winkler). Fantastic time !

We enjoyed our time at the Sea Garden Resort. We spent most of our time at the beach and thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Nights were fun too as there was nightly entertainment and a disco. Guests were from all over the world and it was nice to be able to meet up with new friends easily as the resort wasn’t too big. Food was good but we would’ve liked to have Jamaican food every night! 3-star resort grounds very well kept, rooms clean. Older resort with some new additions. Great buffet selection (chefs on site!) with plenty of choices at all 3 meals. Wait staff very friendly. As the resort is near the end of Kent Ave., it is less busy with traffic than on nearby Glouchester Street. Three small beaches available across Kent Ave. with some decent snorkelling outside of the beach area. Beach bar/grill very busy. Pool snack bar not the greatest variety of food. Our room (40 [... read more]7) in a great location (corner room facing garden and siding parking lot and Kent Ave.), however, as it is close to road, noisy drivers/car music/car alarms (horns?) sometimes noticeable. Jets landing mainly in late morning to late evening noticeable but not irritating and didn't continue into the night when we were there (Feb 26 to March 5). Bed (queen) very comfortable, shower weak and needs work. Fridge was replaced the 1st day with a new one. Nightly entertainment very local and good. On two nights food was served outside, around pool. No vendors on private beach. Good choice for adults.

Great value

This is a smaller resort, locally owned .... we were impressed, food was decent and lots of variety, some areas are older but still in great shape... they work extremely hard to keep it clean and it is very clean. They don’t have much restaurants but don’t worry they offer lots of food and always rotating. We talked to other people and they were impressed as well. An excellent resort

A very good hotel ... indoor public areas, outdoor landscaping dinning area are acceptionaly good ... Our room 302 required a bit of renovation Kitchen and dinning area staff paid good attention to our special needsfor vegetarian and glutinfree diet

Awesome!!!!!

Our week at SeaGarden Beach Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica was awesome! The whole staff were amazing and felt like part of our family from the minute we arrived until our departure which came too soon. The front desk staff were overly accommodating, especially the lady (sorry, I didn’t get her name) who seemed to be there 24/7 with a smile on her face and always so helpful! I cannot say enough about the exceptional Activity Staff - Rose, Marlin and Pooh - they are superb!! The food is delicious, new dishes everyday with a variety to please everyone - the desserts and mac & cheese are soooo good! It was great to be able to experience many Jamaican recipes of varying spiciness. All of the waitresses/waiters were so efficient, especially Lisa who took care of us during many of our meals. Our ground floor garden view room, 311, was clean and spacious with a very comfortable king bed, lots of hot water, great air conditioning. Although the in-room safe wasn’t functional, we were able to use a safety deposit box at the front desk which was accessible 24/7. The private beach is beautiful, only a very short walk across the road which is healthy with all the food and drink you’re enjoying!! It is amazing to watch the planes landing, some awesome photo ops. The only minor fault we found is there are many small steps throughout the resort which you have to be careful not to trip on, just watch what you’re doing and don’t hurry - after all your on Jamaican time ;)

Perfect Vacation

The grounds were beautiful, the employees were fantastic and the food was very good. My family and I had a great time. The location to the airport made for a very quick transition and the welcome was fantastic

Very Good Resort

We just returned from our trip to Jamaica and our 4 day stay at the Sea Garden Beach Resort. The resort is clean and well kept. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Our room was large and modern and the cleaning staff did a good job maintaining it each day. The beach isn't huge and is located across the street from the resort but it is private, clean and great. The food was very good at the buffet restaurant and the beach grill. However, the menu didn't vary much each day and would repeat. I [... read more] would recommend this place for couples that want a quiet place to get away. If you have kids from ages 6 and up, you would need to go out on trips to keep them from not being bored. Trips out to events are safe currently if you use an agency or a recommended driver by the Sea Garden staff. We used Ron's (Ox) as our driver and he took us to the Luminous Lagoon, waited and returned us for a reasonable price, less than the agency wanted.

Comfortable, safe resort

We had a great time at the Sea Garden, the staff was friendly and quick to smile and make you feel at ease . The buildings and grounds were clean and well looked after. The food had a special flair all of its own, there was always something new to try, we especially enjoyed the dinner parties at the beach and the pool. We look forward to a return visit.

Great week at SeaGarden!

My husband and I visited this resort 4 years ago and had a wonderful time. We returned again last week with friends and were not disappointed. This is a locally owned resort that reopened 5 years ago and is in the process of rebuilding. It has an old world charm and while a guest, there is no doubt you are having an authentic Jamaican experience, as opposed to some of the larger European owned resorts that tend to be all alike. There are some things to be aware of ....the rooms are dated, [... read more] especially the bathrooms and the restaurant is buffet style. If you wish to eat at the a la carte (only one) there is a surcharge per visit. Once you get over that, you can begin to enjoy the wonderful things that SeaGarden has to offer. 1. Unbelievable staff The kind, caring and entertaining staff made out trip spectacular! Special mention to bar staff Ian, Linten and Presley who anticipated our every whim and who continuously went above and beyond. The beach attendant Roach had our chairs and towels waiting for us daily, and referred us to a wonderful glass bottom boat excursion that provided the best snorkelling that we have ever seen. The entertainment team , lead by TRex was fantastic . They entertained us well with their outstanding talent and warm humour. The beach cook, Ricardo worked hard to provide us with great beach barbeque food and yummy jerk chicken and pork. Kudos to the dining room staff who provided prompt and welcoming service. We cant say enough about the dedication of the staff to making the vacation experience outstanding. 2. Beautiful private beach 3. Fantastic entertainment 4. Delicious food . Although the restaurant was buffet style, there was plenty of excellent, well prepared and healthy food with a lot of variety. All and all we rated our vacation experience a 10 out 10. we give the resort itself an 8.5 out of 10 marred only by the lackluster rooms and tired bathrooms. That being said, we understand that hotel management will be addressing this moving forward. We will return and look forward to the continuing upgrades to this resort. !
