Grand Palladium Palace: Great Resort
We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The grounds were always clean and well maintained, and the rooms were spotless and comfortable. The minibar was consistently restocked, with extra bottled water provided daily. We also appreciated the ice machines conveniently located throughout the resort.
The food was very good, and the service was outstanding. We were especially impressed by the quality of service from the staff, who were friendly, attentive, and professional throughout our stay.
The be[... read more]ach was cleaned daily, towels were always available, and most of the à la carte restaurants were excellent. The Spanish and Italian restaurants were my favorites, and the Japanese restaurant was also very good. One thing to note is that the portion sizes at the restaurants were extremely large. While the food was delicious, many dishes were much bigger than necessary, which resulted in a lot of food being left uneaten and potentially wasted.
Areas for Improvement:
Argentinian Restaurant: The service was extremely slow. We waited about an hour for our food, and we had to ask for bread and butter while waiting.
Boats Near the Beach: There are too many boats traveling back and forth close to the shoreline. They pass frequently, sometimes every few minutes, and the smell of fuel can be noticeable and unpleasant. It would greatly improve the beach experience if the number of boats were reduced or if they operated farther from shore.
Overall, this is a fantastic resort with excellent service, great food, and beautiful, well-maintained facilities. I would definitely recommend it and would gladly return.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton
The Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton have beautiful grounds and gardens.During our stay at this hotel, the reception suffered major and noisy repairs I got headaches.the black tarp surrounding the large repair area and the grandious stairs took away the beauty of this hotel. We received a good apartment room. However, the bed had a major issue:screeching at each turn, it was hard to rest properly. The Sunset Cove beach we liked: although it supposed to be a quiet area, often noisy groups came in an[... read more]d turn the music loud, some people screaming in the water. There was no shade j afternoon, as the palapas did not have the top to provide it. Moreover, sometimes you could hear the loud noise from construction site hammers nearby. The food was good on the main restaurant. The rest were missing some things, for knstance: lemons were scarce, I had to pay to get 2 lemons. The a la cart restaurants were good, just Poseidon was disappointing, we had a late dinner appointment and all specific dishes were gone, we received basically same dishes as the buffet. As this hotel is renowned for the largest pool in Jamaica, I would recommend it for people enjoying the pool, rather than a quiet beach.

TRS Turquesa: Horrible resort would not recommend it
I would not recommend this resort, the food was cold at buffet restaurant and terrible at the Italian restaurant, the only decent restaurant was the Chinese restaurant where they cook the food in front of you and The Grill restaurant by the pool, the entertainment was boring and pathetic except for the shows that they had in the lobby, the entertainment crew were rude and there white party was a joke which they had at the soccer field, they should have had one at the TRS which was closer for the[... read more] guests and the MOSQUITOES were terrible they were everywhere even in the rooms, the maids were excellent and very nice, the butlers were useless, Jaime the nice man who drove the carts was a sweetheart and very nice but in general it was a terrible resort

TRS Turquesa: Great Choice!
We spent 2 amazing weeks at this resort from April 25 to May 9, we are a couple in our early 60's, everything about this resort was amazing, food, rooms and service were some of the best we have ever experienced at any of our Caribbean destinations. Our butler Jean was excellent and catered to our every need, Angela and Stephanie at Helios were amazing and always looked after us when we arrived, the bartenders and waitresses were very attentive and always had a smile. Grand Palladium Riviera Resort And Spa: Super disappointed
My family and I have been visiting the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya for the past 13 years, so it is very disappointing to say how much this resort has gone downhill. We travelled as a group of 12 for a family vacation and unfortunately this was by far our worst experience here.
Upon arrival, we found two live cockroaches in our room, which immediately set the tone for the stay. The food was absolutely awful compared to previous years, and the buffet barely changed during the entire 8 days we [... read more]were there. We were also unable to book à la carte dinners because we were told higher-tier guests could bump our reservations, which was extremely frustrating and unfair.
The pools themselves were okay, however the cleanliness was very poor. Garbage left around the pool area from the previous day was often still there the next morning, which showed a lack of proper maintenance and care.
The entertainment was also very disappointing and nowhere near the level of other resorts we have visited. There seemed to be very little effort put into activities or evening shows.
Another major issue was accessibility. We had requested an accessibility room well in advance due to mobility issues, but upon arrival no accessible room was provided. The washroom contained a bathtub that came up over my knees just to get into, making it extremely difficult and unsafe to use.
Overall, I would rate this resort a 2-star experience rather than a 5-star resort. It is very sad to see how far the quality has declined over the years. Sadly, after over a decade of visiting, we would not return.

TRS Yucatan: Exceptional Service
The resort and staff were simply amazing! Very clean and everyone was incredibly friendly. We enjoyed all the à la carte restaurants with a variety of food. The infinity pool and activities were certainly highlights during our stay. The only thing missing was a nice sand beach. If long walks on the beach are non negotiables then this resort is not for you. They aim to please and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay.

Grand Palladium Palace: Great Family Vacation
This was my fourth stay at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana, both with and without children, and I’ve consistently had great experiences on both adults-only and family vacations. This was our second visit with our children (ages 11 and 13), and both times we stayed in the Junior Suite Swim-Up Beachside. We love being able to relax at our room, swim directly from the suite, or easily access nearby pools. The building is also extremely close to the beach—it’s less than a 30-second walk.
The staff[... read more] were friendly, and most spoke English, which made communication easy. The resort is well maintained, and our room was clean. There are many pools and restaurants throughout the property, most of which are conveniently located. We’ve stayed at similarly sized resorts with larger footprints, where getting around was more difficult. While this resort offers trolleys and golf carts, everything we needed in our area was within easy walking distance, even for kids.
The resort is divided into four areas: Punta Cana, Palace, Bávaro, and Royal Suites. Royal Suites is adults-only, and guests there can access all areas. The Bávaro section has recently been renovated and is now restricted to Bávaro guests only. While this limited access compared to previous visits, it wasn’t an issue, as the Punta Cana and Palace areas had everything we needed.
There is no limit on à la carte restaurant visits, though securing preferred times can be challenging for larger groups. Walk-ins are possible, but we successfully booked through the Palladium app. Our group of 13 was able to secure three à la carte reservations at our preferred times by booking simultaneously, since the app only allows reservations for guests within the same room.
The resort offers high-speed Wi Fi throughout most of the property, including much of the beach. This made it easy to stay connected and locate family members when spread out.
The grounds are beautifully manicured, and I don’t recall seeing any flies or bugs during our stay. Staff were constantly maintaining the landscaping from morning until evening. The resort also has several gift shops and a pharmacy. We enjoyed the mini golf course and basketball court. There’s also a soccer pitch, tennis and pickleball courts. One evening, we even saw people playing pickleball under the lights around 9 p.m.
Since our last visit in 2022, the resort has eliminated room keys and towel cards. Bracelets now unlock rooms and are scanned at buffets and à la carte restaurants, making everything more convenient.
We didn’t experience much of the nightlife, as we usually called it a night around 9 p.m. After long days in the sun with kids, we often ended the evening with a quiet swim in our shared swim-up pool. We requested adjacent rooms for our family, which was accommodated, allowing us to share the same pool with minimal outside traffic. Despite the resort being busy, our pool area remained very quiet throughout our seven-night stay.
We did notice that many guests reserved pool and beach chairs early in the morning with towels, often leaving them unused for hours. While frustrating, this was a guest behavior issue rather than a resort problem.
Food quality was excellent across the resort, with plenty of options for everyone, and no one in our group became ill. Despite some online complaints about food quality, we had no such issues.
While there may be higher-end resorts available, the Grand Palladium checks all the boxes for us at a reasonable price. Having stayed at all-inclusive resorts in Cuba, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, and across various brands, the Palladium Group remains our preferred choice.
We flew direct with Sunwing, operated by WestJet. WestJet’s Starlink Wi Fi was a great feature and worked well throughout the flight. Although there were no power outlets on the outbound flight, we were prepared with power banks. The return flight offered USB C outlets and slightly more legroom.
We used the included airport transfers for this trip, though we’ve opted for private transfers in the past. In hindsight, a private transfer would have been preferable. Arrival was quick with a dedicated shuttle, but the return transfer involved multiple stops and took over an hour, compared to the usual 25 minute drive.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Alright resort
Well where to start, first Jamicia is beautiful. The Jamician people for the most part were wonderful. The resort was large and it takes a couple of days just to learn the way around. The food was good, the sports bar didn't disappoint. The resort was clean the beach was a struggle due to seaweed. There is a incline so walking around if you have mobility issue are troublesome. The smell of sewage was bad. Which resorts do need to repair. The beds were like sleeping on wood. They could not mix [... read more]a good drink. It seem like they would mix stuff together and it was not even close to what you asked for. They really tried to push rum on ya. We lost water in our room for a few hours which would of been nice to been informed of.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Great resort for our friends getaway
We can't complain about any aspect of the hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean, the cleaning staff were wonderful.
We traveled with a group of 14 we were always able to get lounge chairs together at the pool and beach. And at the meals we ate together no problem sitting together. Wait staff in the buffets were awsome as were the bar keepers. Loved the resort and can't wait to go back.

The staff at the resort was amazed
The food on the other hand was not.it was cold and in the one buffet you where guessing what you where eating.
And if you’re not in the family section or the all adults you are limited to where you can eat.
It would have been nice to have fruit and some snacks available though out the day.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: OK Resort, Definitely not 5 star
We left Canada early in the morning and arrived at the resort in the afternoon, Check in took an hour and a bit, but we were a large group of newly arrived guests. The bus from the airport was full. Our check in experience was interesting- we did not get our previously requested ground floor room right away, we were assigned a 3rd floor room, but after TIPPING the front desk agent, a room suddenly became available. As a former manager at an international hotel chain, I found this interesting.
[... read more] We missed the lunch buffet due to the lengthy check-in, and the dinner buffet was not open yet but we were all incredibly hungry since we hadn't eaten since 6am. After check in, we were driven in a cart to our room with our luggage. The driver was polite and brought our bags to our room for us. pointed out features of the room ( building 35 Lady Hamilton side).
We were then directed to the Sports Bar for food until the buffet opened. That was a mistake - the sports bar buffet was empty, and when they brought food to replenish the buffet, it was enough for 2 or 3 guests, not the 30 people who were all starving. There were French fries and some old hotdogs. We also ordered burgers for the 4 of us at our table in the Sports Bar, but it took 75 minutes for our food to arrive. 75 minutes for our order is UNACCEPTABLE. The hotel knows there are guests arriving from flights, they know the arrival times as they repeat weekly, and they know that the Sports Bar is recommended to bus loads of guests as a food option until the buffet opens. There should be some coordination between the front desk and the sports bar staff so that adequate amounts of food is readily available for arriving guests. If guests waited 75 minutes for food from the restaurant in the hotel I was a manager at, both the restaurant and front desk managers would be reprimanded or dismissed.
The resort on Lady Hamilton side is older and tired. The floor tile was cracked in the bathroom, paint drips were dried on the floor from whenever they last painted, the toilet area was incredibly small. You could bump your head on the wall in front of the toilet just getting up after using it, the wall is so close. The towel supply was adequate on the first day only. We had 4 bath towels, 2 face cloths, 2 hand towels, a bath mat and a black make- up removal facecloth. Every day after more towels disappeared and were not replaced despite tipping and leaving requests for towels and a bath mat on a note. We ended our stay with only 2 bath towels and one hand towel that we used as a bath mat.
The hair dryer worked fine, the safe was also in working order. Other guests in our group did not have working TV’s. The jacuzzi tub didn't look clean so we did not use it.
The overall cleanliness of the room was questionable - the make up mirror was spotted and was not cleaned during our stay. The small toilet area floor smelled, and I left a note asking for the floor to be washed. My best guess is that urine was in the grout, and the heat and humidity made it smell like urine. The floors were washed on the day my note was received and it improved the situation. We know the floors were washed because they were still wet when we returned to the room in the afternoon.
Our room overlooked the main walkway, and the patio was nice. Nothing special but it was nice with 2 chairs a table and a drying rack (broken). The sliding door was old and you had to position it just right to lock it. the curtains were stained and old and had sun-rot. The sleeper sofa was a hard-foam fold out. Definitely not something you'd expect in this caliber of resort. We did not need to use it, but just sitting on the hard vinyl-covered foam was uncomfortable.
The air conditioning was not nearly adequate. The setting would not allow the temp to be adjusted cooler. It was set at 25C/77F. The air conditioner had an automatic shut off -
1. by motion sensor and
2. a sensor when the patio door opened. If there was no one in the room, the air conditioner turned off, which made the room hot and stuffy, especially at night when you slept. No motion, no air.
Buffet- the food was adequate and nothing special, the temperature of the food sitting in trays at all the meals would not pass the Canadian Food Safety/ Health Inspection, (but thankfully we did not get sick) The only hot food was when it was prepared in front of you. Scrambled eggs were room temperature, bacon was slightly warm under the red heat lamp, pancakes were refrigerator-cold, French toast was refrigerator-cold, Potatoes and rice were room temperature. The crepes were freshly made so they were hot and actually very good. We liked the lovely woman who made the crepes, she was very kind. The fruit was disappointing- watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple and honeydew melon, bananas, apples, oranges slices. The melons were mostly hard and not ripe. More fruit varieties would have been nice. The juice dispensers were disgusting - it came out thick like pudding, because the juice had settled. (I have photos of the juice/pudding) It was not changed during the shift, and fresh- squeezed juice was not available. The orange juice we asked for from our server was not fresh. It tasted like orange flavored crystals they mix with water, or an orange flavoured drink from a box or can.
The desserts were gelatin based - the dessert labeled cheesecake had gelatin in it, creamy mousse desserts were made with gelatin. The cake and the donuts on the dessert buffet were good. The bread items were good, the yellow buns were delicious as well as the coconut buns in a warm glaze.
The best hot entrees were the roast pork and the roast beef.
I did speak up to another guest one morning at breakfast, they approached the buffet with a plate of scrambled eggs just after I served myself, and she scraped her plate of eggs back into the tray of scrambled eggs on the buffet. There was no attendant in sight at this time. I took it upon myself to tell the guest that she was NOT ALLOWED to scrape her plate back into the fresh food, and she became defensive and defiant, saying she didn't touch it, she just changed her mind after going to her table. I told her it was against food safety standards to put food back that she had already taken to her table. I stood at the egg station, turning other guests away from the tray of scrambled eggs, explaining what happened until a staff member finally came out from the back-kitchen. I told them what the guest did. The attendant didn't quite believe me until I insisted they remove the tray and I pointed to the dirty plate the guest left sitting on the buffet counter. The resort Really Needs to Be Sure there are attendants at each station at all times, or only allow the attendants to serve the guests. How many others have done this? I did see many people eating bacon or other foods with their hands as they also helped themselves to different foods on the buffet. No one asked guests to hold off eating until they returned to their tables. Yuck.
Pool and bar area- The pool water temperature was colder than expected. We did swim but it was uncomfortable - maybe because it was February and the water had not warmed up in the sun. Pool seemed clean. There were a lot of available pool chairs, and we enjoyed the visits from the cats that live on the property. The resort should and could do more for the cats who live on the property- I believe from a post on Facebook that they just agreed (March 2026) to conduct a spay and neuter veterinarian clinic for the cats.
The pool bar on the west side of the pool was "ok". They did serve a jerk chicken lunch daily which was nice. The bartender was not very attentive when we would ask for drinks. He ignored me one day completely and I finally spoke up and said “I’m not invisible- it was my turn in line” but he served 3 guests a young man, and 2 bikini-wearing young ladies ) who came to the bar after me.
I was pretty vocal in my statement and walked away. He did track me down to where I was seated by the pool and apologized. After that incident, our group of 17 friends mostly just used the server who came around to the area where we were sitting. He missed out on all of our tips.
The app- it is not user friendly to book restaurant reservations, we ended up going to the front desk to book.
The a-la-carte restaurants were alright. We ate at the Mexican restaurant, the Indian restaurant, the Japanese teppanyaki and the Poseidon seafood restaurant. We enjoyed the show and food at the Japanese teppanyaki, and the Indian restaurant's butter chicken was delicious. Service was prompt at all of the a-la-cartes.
The seafood restaurant was only ok - the salad bar and the entree's were basically the same selection, only the salad bar seafood was cold and the same food was cooked for the entree. Local seafood options would have made it much better.
We did NOT like that they offered to sell us lobster at an extra cost. When we pay for an all inclusive resort, we expect everything to be “all inclusive”, not have items offered at an additional cost.
The upper bar above the pool was a nice place to sit in the evening. The sunset views were beautiful. We REALLY enjoyed the live entertainment/music, but the chairs and tables are worn out. some were missing cushions, and had stains. Some nights there was not enough seating for everyone. We didn’t find the shows at the theatre as good as the live music at the bar, They tried but the shows were not our thing. One of the problems was that the music from the theatre show could be heard at the upper level outdoor bar, while there was a musician trying to play. The sound travelled across the pool patio and interfered with the musician. Maybe having the live musician set up straight across from the main bar upstairs or on Miss Lou’s side would have helped?
Miss Lou's coffee bar was the BEST spot on the resort. The sandwiches were fresh and tasty, the coffee drinks were amazing, the desserts were delicious, staff was friendly, and I wish we knew it was an option as a place to eat on the day we arrived instead of being directed to the Sports Bar, It may have changed the overall impression we had of the resort from Day 1.
We will not go back to this resort. We heard the Iberostar Rose Hall was nicer and they have a cat sanctuary for the cats that live on their property. That is a huge positive for us. Our thoughts are that if a resort cares for the cats, they will most likely care for the guests.
