i been in the same resort 15 years ago, now is different, have 2 more buildings biger lobby dinning area , look everiyhing different and beter. ,food is good with variety sort of food,a lot of emloye everithing is organized with new standard Beach is short not enough shadow to protect tourist of the sun but weather was raining all 7 days , so for us , was okay.

The Hotel was a 3 1/2 stars at best. Exactly what we expected. Food at the Buffet was OK ?, a la carte was mediocre. Our room was on the bottom floor on the pool side. It was quiet A/C was great. We were missing shampoo, we asked the maid and only received it on our 3rd day (Minor details). Staff were great. Animation by the pool was fun thanks to Gigi. Beach was great also. For the price! i would recommend going.

Just got back from Royalton chic. No welcoming drink..always had one at other royaltons. Resort was run down and tired. Constantly harassed by the pink shirts trying to sell us time shares. Beach was almost washed away and full of seaweed and garbage.was not cleaned up for first 3 days...food at buffet was same everyday and a 7 out of 10 with terrible service.Pools were clean and great. Bar service was great. Are room was clean and real nice. We had a good time but wont be back. Once and done. This was my 28th all inclusive so I know what to expect...stop harassing your quests with time shares...awful of you. This view was shared by all other guests we met

About my fifth time staying there Room are clean and still modern, food is better than most or all resorts - but still resort food, Cleaning staff is excellent.... i tip 4 dollar a day to my cleaning lady and she is wonderful ... bring clothes your dont use anymore to give to staff Entertainment is good,, super friendly... they brighten your day...may be my favorite part of the resort... Pretty good show in the evening Lots of Dominicans on weekend...busy but I like that... They come Friday at about 4pm and leave Sunday afternoon... to me they liven up the resort. Sunday to Friday noon things are slower but i like that also. I know Dominican well and this is my go to place

We had a great week at Viva V! The grounds and pool were immaculate, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the buffet offered plenty of variety. There were lots of beach chairs available, although they were a bit too close together for our liking. We were pleasantly surprised by the open-air dining, which was kept cool and bug-free with large fans. The Italian and International à la carte restaurants were both excellent. Overall, a fantastic stay, and we will definitely be back

Pretty Close to a five star. Room , Food, Ocean and pool. A couple of Pointers. 1.) Cleanup the multi million dollar bridge. Lots of garbage . could send 4 men out with wheeled bin and pressure washer. Grafity spray over. It would be beautiful to set up an area for lunch on the last island. Pillows are small in Bedroom. We don't stay up late but we did a couple of times. The one weak point. We booked an excursion to Levantado island. We were told 3 hours on the island snorkelling with lots of fish and lunch on another island. The Sunwing Nexus Rep lied. We were in the Loud boat for 4 hours out of 6. 1 hour on Bacardi island. walked for 1/2 mile past hustling vendors. Paid over $200 Canadian. Stopped for lunch on a treacherous coral island. Could hardly make it up a dangerous slippery ramp. CLIMBED ALL THE WAY UP FOR AN UNDERCOOKED BURGER. Talked to the Sunwing Rep and he offered us another trip but we were going home. Paid extra for snorkelling. did not go. Some parts of Samana Bay by the resort were almost 100 degrees. We would go back. I believe we need a credit for the excursion. The Rep LIED.

I have nothing to say but positive things about this resort from beginning to end. The manager met us at check in and was attentive and professional, our room was beautiful with water and pool views. We spent most days between the pool and beach both awesome. The food was great with a lot of variety and attention to detail. The drinks were cold and plentiful. All staff we met were kind and helpful. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and linens. We are already planning a return trip in the new year. Transfers also seamless. Such a perfect week!!

This was our first time visiting this resort. To be honest we went in with mixed feelings. Although we were a little bit bored of other resorts that had a little bit less energy. We were a little bit afraid that the energy here would be a little bit too high. To our surprise, the resort was phenomenal. This resort is divided in a way that if you want to be in a high energy environment and party like you're 21 again, no problem there's a place for you. However, if a little bit later you want to relax in a calmer environment, there's also a place for you. Overall, it is a beautiful resort, be careful with the beach, the waves can get pretty strong, the food is very reasonable and if you are modestly generous in your tips, you will have the best service you ever seen. Don't expect modern rooms, they are a little bit outdated however if you're going down South, I'm sure it's not to spend your time in the room. Certain things do need improvement, the sports bar has this horrendous smell inside of humidity, I feel pity for the people that have to work that bar. The disco could be a bit bigger with better sound. It gets very crowded and the sound is pretty muffled. I definitely recommend this resort and will undoubtably will be visiting Riu Republica again.

What a wonderful week of fabulous food, great service, and amazing accommodations.. The service was outstanding and we always felt that people would go out of their way to help. The proximity to the golf course was exceptional as one of the reasons we stayed at this resort was the course close by. This is our 5th time visiting this resort and I am confident we will return.

I would definetely recommend this Resort.Super nice place..Food was excellent, beach was nice and green flag all week Everybody was Pleasant, never had issues. Servers was on point I dont have negative comments to say..we have enjoy every minute of our vacation Thank You

We had a great time, the resort was extremely clean. It was great having water fill up stations all over the resort. The people were sweet and nice. The room was a little disappointing as we are Cuba people and I guess I was expecting a better room. But have that being said it was clean just needed more storage spaces. I don’t want to complain about anything but every weekend the resort was full and I mean full of Dominican people. The lobby was lined up with them checking in. I will say that I would not go to Grand Ventana during the high season like January or February I feel it would be way too busy.

The Hotel is almost 5 stars. Food, 5 stars, Grounds, 5 stars, Staf and cleanest, amazing, Washrooms, exceptionally clean also disinfection alcohol every were even walking in for meals the staff will put some on your hands. Beach is private and perfect at the best until 11am, after 11am most of the days wind and a bit bigger tise. I can say that this hotel is worth the money spend.

We had a great time at this resort, featuring ocean/beach front and the town of Sosua right out the front doors. This made your options of things to do much more exciting. The hotel was very clean and well maintained and the staff were polite and attentive and always smiling. Milton, (customer service mgr.) took very good care of any issues or questions we had. Amparo, our room attendant, always did a wonderful job at keeping our room spotless and well equipped with towels and water every day. Our room was on the 3rd floor of building 7 overlooking the quiet pool and with a long neck you could see a bit of ocean. No elevators in the hotel complex so it was 30 stairs up/down a circular staircase to the ocean/buffet and 15 stairs the other way to the lobby/theatre. We found it a perfect location for us. The hotel has many buildings across a large area of stone walkways and steps up and down. 2 main large pools and 3 cold large hot tubs that overlook the ocean that are set into the volcanic rock (beautiful). The adult select side sits just above the Playa Casa Marina(beach) in buildings 1-6. The non-select side have access to both beaches. These beaches we quite small, Playa Alicia is down a few flights of wooden stairs from the volcanic rock ledge and Playa Casa Marina is even smaller and you must go through the select side to get to. At times the ocean could be rough with large waves to play in and the walk into the water the beach would drop off quickly. There is a 10 min walk through the city to the Playa Sosua beach which is at least a kilometer long lots of local vendors. We found the food in the Batey Buffet, Excellent! One of the best in an All-inclusive resort that we have been too! Very good assortment for breakfast lunch and dinner. There were 2 and sometimes 3 serving stations, serving fresh beautifully cooked assortments of pasta, meat, fish, eggs. The food in the hot trays (meats, seafood, beans, rice, veggies and local dishes) were actually hot and plenty of them and they were refilled before they were empty. There was also a cheese and cold cut section, bread section, ice cream and a desert section. In the restaurant the servers were attentive, serving drinks and removing dishes, very efficient and lovely to talk to. Upon entering the buffet there was a check-in station where they recorded your room number. These gals were wonderful to see every day, and we looked forward to visiting/joking with them. The bartenders at the hotel were fun as well, keeping a well-structured serving order to ensure first come first serve. They were all efficient and made a good variety of well spirit drinks (no top shelf available). Cold Presidente beer on tap. At the Sunset bar, our favorite, Denise and later in our stay Gerald joined her. We really enjoyed her/their company as we had lots of laughs. They were always smiling and we had many good conversations and music to listen to. We would return to this resort (the food alone would bring us back), but the staff, the beautiful views and the variety of things to do were wonderful and we would recommend it to those who can get around on their own (lots of rocky uneven walkways and stairs) not sure what the hotel would be like in high season but on weekends the place would fill up and it would be a little more hectic. Also, there were so many repeat guests as they know what they found here. All in all, we had a great time and would love to come back. Cheers,

Select at Casa Marina – A Premium Price Without a Premium Experience We recently returned from a week's vacation at Select at Casa Marina in Sosúa, Dominican Republic. While we had a fabulous vacation and enjoyed exploring the surrounding area, the resort itself fell short of our expectations. The Select upgrade offered very little additional value. We paid extra for the adults-only premium experience, but honestly noticed very little difference. Premium liquor was advertised, yet the alcohol offered was standard Dominican brands. The food was mediocre at best, certainly nothing that stood out as a premium dining experience. Accessibility was a major disappointment. My husband has mobility limitations following spinal surgeries, and our room was on the third floor. There were stairs everywhere, including to obtain pool towels and make restaurant reservations. We managed by finding alternative routes where possible, but this was far from convenient. Even more disappointing, the adults-only pools, including the infinity pool, were accessible only by ladders. My husband was therefore unable to use these amenities throughout our stay. Housekeeping and safety were additional concerns. Daily room cleaning was poorly done. Surfaces were not wiped down, and the floors were left soaking wet. With very smooth floor tiles, this created an extremely slippery and potentially dangerous situation. The same concern applied to wet floors in other areas of the resort during morning cleaning. On a positive note, it was wonderful to reconnect with several staff members who previously worked at Grand Paradise Playa Dorada, a resort we had visited for many years. Seeing familiar faces was genuinely enjoyable. We were also celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary, which we mentioned at check-in. Unfortunately, there was absolutely no acknowledgment. We weren't expecting anything extravagant, but even a simple congratulations would have been appreciated. Despite these disappointments, we made the best of our week. We enjoyed visiting Sosúa, taking a guagua to Cabarete, and celebrating our anniversary with a beautiful lunch at Aura Beach Club. Overall, we had a fabulous vacation, but that was largely because of the experiences we created outside the resort. For guests considering paying extra for the Select experience, I would seriously question whether the upgrade is worth the additional cost. Management needs to address accessibility, housekeeping standards, slippery floors, and the delivery of advertised premium amenities. Would we return? No. There are too many other beautiful places to explore in the Dominican Republic.

Nice place, however not for us due to the beach. Meaning we were not allowed to walk far on the beach and water is not clear. Food and service was great very clean and the pool is amazing. Other downside was the noise at night when the locals are at the resort

Rooms were clean, grounds were well kept. No air conditioning in buffet restaurant, or lobby sitting area. Not comfortable without breeze. No open air space to sit outside, except in the pool area which was always packed, or the beach only in allocated areas. We sat in the VIP area without knowing, and were told to move away. Music too loud near the beach, cannot relax and music continues till past 10:30 pm. We stayed in our room most of the time, felt trapped, couldn't wait to leave. Also, should allow shore fishing at the pier.

This resort is quite lovely and we were impressed. The resort has a focus on wellness…..it has a beautiful reception area, immaculate grounds, amazing food and beach area. We were impressed with the quality and variety of food, cleanliness of restaurants, friendly staff and well maintained rooms. Pickup on shuttles was timely. It was not difficult to immerse yourself in the mindfulness. and beauty of this place. Apparently the spa is lovely but not our thing; sales were high pressure. We experienced difficulty finding our transfer time and the staff were not able to help….a bus for Sunwing just happened to show up. There was not a rep on site.

Grounds: were beautiful Rooms: were nice, we had pool view on the preferred side. Beach: nicely kept. the downside is the seaweed, but that cant be helped Food: Very good! I like the no reservation required. We never waited more than 20 min to get in. If you want a/c while you eat, you need preferred This is by for one of the best resorts we've been to and would go back next year.

we had a great time here. first time to la romana and we enjoyed being able to walk around to nearby places. the pools need some maintenance but we had great food , hot water. if you want more quiet book 100 building as the ones by the pool can be loud if you're an early bed person the music goes u til 11 .

Beautiful grounds with different palms, blooming trees.It was like a small Zoo: ponds with interesting different fish, ducks, flamingos. Peacock wandering around.Especially we liked our walks to the lobby along the way surrounded by mangrove trees, small ponds and lawns, where we could meet iguanas, interesting birds, turtles. It was such a pleasure for our small grandchild and for us as well. Our room was nice, we could see the ocean from the balcony. The water park for children was also very good. The pools were good maintained, but we prefer the beach. The beach was nice, with palms, you could find a free sunbed for yourself any time. The food was very-very good and tasty. We could find everything for us every time. We did not go to any a-la cart restaurants. We used the buffet only. It was more convenient for us, because we were with a small grandchild. The only inconvenience were the sea weeds, but we manage to swim a lot in the very warm ocean water. The people, working in the resort were very attentive, friendly and hard working! We enjoyed a lot the vacation in this resort. Thank you! Will recommend the resort for my friends

The hotel was nice, but the service was very poor. They charge extra for room safes. They charge me extra because I lost a room key card. The service staff were pretty good, but the Front Desk, especially in the evening young girls extremely rude The beach area was pretty dirty absolutely no service on the beach The restaurant service was so slow had to literally call the staff or copy or anything Most of the guests were local, hardly a handful of Canadians until the last two days of checkout and a few Canadian Check In

Hotel, grounds, pool, food were all excellent. The only complaint would be that many children were out of control, running around the buffet, grabbing and touching food while parents seemed to be unaware. Not the resorts fault of course, but annoying. Was almost tripped by kids running around. There should be more supervision by hotel staff. Also, the rooms were in need of upgrading, flooring was buckled in places. Perhaps there should be an adults only section.

I enjoyed my vacation at Blue Bay. This is my first time at this resort on recommendation from a friend. The rooms were nice and the maids kept the rooms very clean and the fridge was always well stocked, clean sheets, and fresh towels daily. They also have two towels for poolside use in the room. The resort itself is a bit smaller, which is nice and is adults only. They have the two larger pools. One with a swim up bar. I spent more time at the smaller quiet pool, which was a very nice, at the small pool they had self serve water and juice each day. The buffet was very good, lots of choice in food and desserts. They always seem to be slightly short of staff in the buffet restaurant. There is also a small two floor mall about a six minute walk. I believe I would go back there again.

The resort is very accessible for anyone with mobility issues. Rooms are very clean and spacious. We enjoyed the restaurants and room service. The preferred club was worth the extra cost. Room location and the butler service was excellent. The beach is an enjoyable walk. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Resort is 1.5 hours from the airport that is the only downfall.

Poor experience. The rooms have virtually no sound insulation, making it very difficult to sleep due to noise from neighboring rooms and floors above. The dining experience was equally disappointing, as Royalton Splash guests appear to have fewer restaurant options and lower-quality food choices than guests staying at Royalton Punta Cana. The resort creates the impression that Splash guests are second-class customers. Would not recommend.

Hotel is quite old, but kept, room facilities are working, grounds are maintained well enough. Staff is polite and attentive. Food was sufficient for our taste. There was some entertainment in the lobby every evening. We don't speak Spanish, and sometimes was difficult to communicate. But we mostly cared about water. And we liked it a lot. Mostly calm, almost no see weed.

The resort was fairly big. Enjoyed the adults only. Nice and quiet, close to main lobby and the pool bar very close. The resort was well maintained, clean and very friendly staff. NO SEAWEED what so ever.

Good things: 1.There was no shortage in fruits for buffets and there were enough breakfast options. 2. Nice Greek ala carte restaurant. 3. Showers at the beach were working good 4. Towel handling at the beach were friendly, however some towels had small stains which is ok and normal as long as they are clean 5. Swimming pools were nice however there were many dirty stuff in them that was from the users so It is normal to see those. 6. Billiard and table tennis people were friendly however the tables were a bit old but that is also absolutely fine. 7. Internet was good in the area except for the beach which is normal. 8. Rogers roaming had no issue at all in the resort and also in the region. 9. Hard working staff were almost all nice mannered. Bad things: 1.More than 95% of the foods were not tagged their content in English. 2. Even though the room was renovated there were plenty of spiders. 3. The ocean water was full of seaweed and the water was mixed with too much sand and therefore it was not pleasant at all to swim or snorkel. some days the beach was smelling like toilet too. 4. There were too many local merchants at the beach and some of them were not morally good people, some of them were extremely pushy to sell you stuff that you don't need. 5. Even some of the people from the resort did not have good behavior if you did not buy their packages after they explained to us. 6. The best food I liked there was pizza and that means a lot. It means if a restaurant does not have enough good food you would end up going for French fries and pizza, however I would not say that it was bad however they could put a bit more effort to make the dishes better. 7. Ala carte restaurant of Mexican was just ok a bit salty, The Mongolian was very good except that a piece of broken plate was found in her food after biting it she found out. 8. Room temperature was not greatly controlled it is either too cold or you have to turn it off. But this problem existed in a few other places that we were in the past. 9. Fast food at the beach closes too early 10. On the arrival at the airport it was not very easy to find our shuttle. 11. At the registry of the first minutes of arrival I am expecting that sales men do not approach us too much so we can get to our room and get some rest in that hot climate. 12. some nights was for sales men to have their jewelry demonstrating on the desks for sale, they were also a bit pushy too. 13. We were buying this package under the assumption that we were allowed to use one more buffet of a different resort but that did not happen. Might be our mistake. I don't have time to go back and check all the papers. 14. We also were not allowed to go and check at least one of the other resorts for their night programs. Our night entertainment was just ok. Yet I appreciate their effort.

This resort was clean, nice rooms, comfortable beds, great assortment of delicious foods and friendly staff. I especially loved the ala carte restaurants! No need to book. Just show up in casual dress. The Mexican Restaurant was the best! I recommend the chicken fajitas!

The hotel was amazing but it's definitely made for retirees. Very relaxing if that is what you look forward to on vacation. The weather is always wonderful. The staff and entertainers are amazing. I would go back once I retire but that's a long way from now.

Beautiful and family friendly resort. Plenty of food choices and very welcoming staff. I would recommend to whoever wants an affordable and nice place in Dominican. There are many things to do in Puerta Plata like Ziplining. Water support and tons of other stuff.

The food was good in all the restaurants. The grounds were well maintained. Most of the staff were helpful and pleasant. The room we had was ocean view but not really it was harbour view where the cruise ships doc. There was no air in rooms on second floor they said they tried fixing it 3 times after 3 days of heat they moved us to other room that was a bit cooler. The tub in bathroom was all rusted and drain did not let water go down so had a shower standing in a bunch of water

our room smelled of sewage even after they claimed they fixed the toilet there is ZERO service if you don't speak spanish you are ignored buffet food is mediocre ... the specialty resturants were good but again NO SERVICE the pools are great the weather good no rain but very very humid

Staff was unaware of the menu options and dietary guidelines. I almost fell Ill because wrong dishes were served which had all ingredients which I was allergic to. I had to personally inspect the dish. Staff didn’t know anything.Most of the bartenders were rude. Felt out of place since we didn’t know Spanish. Felt discriminated. Room service was extremely poor. Orders were didn’t delivered all night. Butlers at our building was never available. Over all trip was disappointing.

Overall it was a great resort, the rooms were beautiful with a great balcony. The staff were nice and friendly However there was no kettle to make tea and we had to pay for hot water which was a bit absurd.

We stayed at this hotel in late September and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves even though this period is classed as 'hurricane season' the weather was excellent. Only about 20 minutes from the airport so no long bus journeys. Once there the place is easily accessible and relatively a small resort which meant it was easy to find everything you needed. Yes the place is a bit older than some hotels but the staff were really friendly and helpful which made up for things. Food selection was good and plentiful. No line waiting 15 minutes to get a fresh omelette for breakfast! We stayed in a beachfront room and it was nice seeing and hearing the water 35 yards away through the trees on the beach. There were plenty of sunbeds out on the beach and the pool with no need to get up early to secure them. Again that may be down to the time of year though. Security was always there and available and as far as noisy guests goes it appeared to be shut down if it occurred very quickly. Internet connection was good for us in our room. Entertainment wise it was as expected, dancers, singers, karaoke... nothing spectacular but sufficient. Only downside that we could find was the charge of around $30 for the week for a safe lock and key. We are use to having that included in the overall cost. Otherwise would we go back there...for sure at the same time of year!

Generally a clean hotel. Food was excellent at the main buffet restaurant, Japanese restaurant and also at the French restaurant. Did not go the other restaurants. Daily and evening entertainment were all excellent. Never attended any nightly shows. Beach: Lots of sea weed the first two days. Hotel did an excellent job in putting up water barriers to guide them to a designated area. Last few days the beach was very clean. Sea weed smell was still present. Looks like the sea weed in general is seasonal and appear to be disappearing towards our last day.

We stayed at Ocean Blue & Sand in September 2026. I booked it because I had an excellent stay at Ocean Eden Bay in Jamaica earlier this year, and I expected a similar standard from the same brand. Sadly, the two experiences were night and day. Food: This was the biggest letdown. In both the buffet and the à la carte restaurants, food was often served cold, tasted stale, and was bland. The buffet had very few options, and the same limited selection repeated throughout our stay. I also had an upset stomach for most of the trip. Restaurant reservations: Booking the Japanese restaurant and the steakhouse was a daily struggle. We had to get up at 7 a.m. and try again and again just to get a table, as availability was always very limited. Yet when we finally got in, there were often plenty of empty tables, which made the whole system feel pointless. If food matters to you on an all-inclusive vacation, I'd look elsewhere. If you do book here, be ready to line up for reservations first thing every morning. The pools were nice and often clean; however, the beach was borderline unusable. There was a lot of seaweed, and the water didn't feel clean.

Gorgeous views. Very clean hotel and friendly staff. Gigi and Caramelo made things fun from pool exercise, bingo and night time shows and games. Enjoyed the whole week surrounded by nature and bay views.

The hotel was great. We really enjoyed ourselves. The service, food, pool was great. The staff was always there eager to help. The room was nice a clean but a bit too cold. The beach was nice but a lot sargassum. The maintenance staff worked tirelessly to clean it up. I would recommend the BARCELO BEACH.

Very quiet, not much entertainment in evening and all gone to bed by 11pm. Beach is tiny and not too much to shop for in Samana. Now on the upside if all your looking for is nice clean hotel,good food and staff are all amazing this is the place to go. Read a book great rest and relaxation.

The good: installations look good and are maintained clean. It is a large complex with two hotels (Palace and Beach), the Beach being adults only if you want a different vibe even if you stay at the Palace. There is a lot to do: disco, bowling, golf, bars, restaurants, f1 simulator, etc, but some of them are not included. The bad: the food at the buffet was bad, sometimes overcooked, sometimes tasted as it was spoiled to the point I didn’t eat it, including some of the juices they offered. Food variety was also very weak, a lot of sausages in different preparation, if they ran out of something, they didn’t replenished or it would take forever to do so, so there were long lines for things like beef to grab some before it was gone. Chicken was always very dry and overcooked, Regarding the a la carte restaurants, they were ok, way better than the buffet, but nothing extraordinary. We went to the Italian one night and there was a roach in our seat, very bad start. I know in places with this type of weather is hard to keep insects out, but the roach at the Italian restaurant was not the only one, we spotted some more, including one in our room. We have stayed in two other hotels in Punta Cana before, no roaches at all in any of them. Some of the staff at the buffet feel like they hate being working there and that feeling is reflected in their poor service. Activities were not very good compared to other hotels. Night shows were not very impressive either. Unfortunately, the beach was full of sargassum so we couldn’t enjoy it as we wanted. Also, the smell from the sargassum can be very strong at times. I know the hotel has not much control on this other than cleaning as much as they can, but it was disappointing to find a beach that cannot be used.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana — Beautiful resort, but VERY loud! Sunscape Coco Punta Cana is a very pretty resort with a beautiful beach, lovely pools and wonderful staff. But there is one thing I think people absolutely need to know before booking: this is a party resort, and it is LOUD. In fact, it is the loudest resort I have ever stayed at. If you’re looking for a lively, energetic, party atmosphere, this may be exactly what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, I would seriously reconsider. Of the six nights we were there, we called Security twice very late at night because people had music absolutely blaring. One of those nights also involved people arguing, crying and fighting. We eventually started wearing earplugs to bed and still regularly woke up because of the noise. It wasn’t just an occasional disturbance—it was a pretty consistent part of the experience. The room: We had a swim-out room, which was fabulous. The room itself was perfectly sufficient, and the swim-out pool was lovely and, thankfully, much quieter than the rest of the resort. The beach: Absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, the seaweed was extremely prominent during our stay. The water was basically a murky tea colour, it smelled, and we couldn’t bring ourselves to go swimming in it. This is apparently a seasonal issue, so it’s not something the resort can really control. We enjoyed sitting by the beach and taking in the view, but did all of our swimming in the pools. The beach vendors are fairly aggressive. You just have to be assertive.  The pools: Clean and enjoyable. Our swim-out pool was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. The food: I’ll give them an A for effort. They clearly work hard to make the food look appealing and offer plenty of variety. But honestly, the food was just okay—maybe one step above what I’ve experienced at some Cuban resorts, but not much. There were things we enjoyed, but overall, food was not a highlight of the trip. Definitely go to the restaurants in the evening if you can.  The staff: This is where the resort really shines. The staff worked incredibly hard and were genuinely wonderful. Many employees didn’t speak much English, so I found myself wishing I had brushed up on my very rusty Spanish! We tipped very generously throughout our stay because we really appreciated the effort everyone put in: $5 at dinner, $1 at breakfast and lunch, $1 to the gentleman who made my egg-white omelettes, $1 whenever we got drinks, $5 for expedition bus drivers, $20 for the boat captains & crew, $5 a day for our room cleaner, and even $1 whenever I exchanged money at the front desk. $1 for anyone who helped me with my suitcase. Everyone seemed to appreciate it, and we were treated wonderfully. Excursions: We did an expedition that was an all-day adventure to Saona Island and a lot of fun. It involved quite a bit of travelling to get there, but we really enjoyed it. We also went paragliding, which was both fun and scary as hell! Definitely an experience I won’t forget. Overall, I’m glad we experienced Sunscape Coco Punta Cana. It’s a beautiful resort, the swim-out room was fantastic, the staff were wonderful, and we had some really fun experiences. Would I return? Probably not—and the reason is almost entirely the noise. I can handle a lively resort, but the level of nighttime noise was just too much for me. So my biggest piece of advice is: if you want a party, music, activity and a lively atmosphere, Sunscape Coco Punta Cana could be a great fit. If you want a quiet, relaxing vacation where you can sleep peacefully at night, I would choose somewhere else.

This resort is a 3-star at best. While it is fairly new, it disappointed in many ways. We are both seasoned travellers in the Caribbean and would say that it did not meet expectations overall. The food quality was basic at the buffet. The a-la-carte restaurants were disappointing as most dishes were sub-par. The beach had no seaweed which was a bonus, however it was not very clean and the ocean water was murky. The pools at the resort had insufficient filtration and looked filthy. The room was basic but very clean. The cleaning staff was efficient but would refill our used towels. The mattress was comfortable. We find it unacceptable for a resort to run out of rum, especially given the status it gives itself. If you are a coffee connoisseur, you may be disappointed with the Miches Cafe. The entertainment was mainly for children as it was targeted to Latin Americans who are often on vacation during this time of year (mid-September). We were pleased to see the resort’s initiative to reduce plastic waste - be prepared to carry your own water bottle and to refill it with the dispensers in the hallway. The Viva staff will undoubtedly chase you to attend their members’ meeting to sell you an upgraded status on your vacation.

I'm very happy with almost everything in this resort. Food, service, Beach, entertainment, friendly staff. Good to see giant cruise ship come and go. Bad point was............... There was no beer inside the room fridge, and room smells mold. Otherwise everything great. I want to go back there again.

Was my second time there and again had a great time. Food is great. Rooms were perfect had a swim up. Service was excellent Beach unfortunately was bad but not the hotel’s fault. Shows were fun.

Will return but won’t take the Preferred package as it wasn’t worth it. The Beach is amazing but people with mobility issues will struggle to get in and out of sea due to steep sandbank. Pools weren’t very clean and didn’t pass my sniff test (they didn’t smell like chlorine). The World Buffet had amazing food but atmosphere temp was too hot. No A/C nor ceiling fans. Stifling hot inside with ovens and grills going.

We returned to the Majestic Mirage again in early September. The weather was beautiful. The food in the buffet was much better than during our previous visits. The service in most restaurants was excellent. Our butler, Junior, was the best we have ever had. He was warm, kind, and we saw him every day. He helped us address an issue with our airport transfer. The usually beautiful Bavaro beach was unusable due to seaweed which was very disappointing.

Everything in resort was excellent except the buffet restaurant,lots of improvements to be made.Hotel staff were excellent especially our cobcierge Osvaldo and staff member Sharina.They reached out to us daily to make sure all's well with myself and wife.Beach was terrible.

Boring... Nobody understood english.. Hard to find something to eat... Food was not so great... Wine was even worse... Will not recommend this resort! There was very little shade by the pool...my shower leaked all over ...

Hotel has panoramic beautiful veiws of Samana Bay. Hotel rooms are clean but definitely need decent pillows Our room was suppose to be pool veiw but we were put on the 4th floor directly above the main terrace outside of the lobby bar. Entertaining started nightly around 9pm and was so loud you could not sleep. Some nights it went on until midnight. The pool was in need of repairs as tiles were missing and the water was disgusting, needed to be skimmed daily but we only saw it happen once. Breakfast, lunch and supper buffet was very average. We enjoyed the 2 a la cartes as suppers were very good. Apparently we were there during low season as you could not walk much of the grounds. Beach area was very small. The beach snack bar was very good. Staff were very helpful. Only issue was the check in as rooms were not ready and people continually complained. We are not people who like to venture on excursions so we stayed poolside or in the lobby area.

Everything was great,Staff were exceptional,respectful,Food was very nice,rooms are spotless cleaned everyday,the grounds are all manicured and clean pools! We enjoyed all the restaurants,the buffet had something different to eat each day Cutlery was very clean,glasses ,cups and saucers ,dishes were all very clean Floors were always spotless tables and chairs always wiped down. Sinks,showers and toilet in our room all worked well no problems Even the safe worked great Our fridge was always filled with water ,juice ect. Everything was wonderful beginning to end! My friend and I booked this resort for our second trip to the Dominican Republic, hoping to explore a new area after a great previous experience. We knew the pool was under renovation, but as neither of us are "pool people," it wasn't an issue. The resort's smaller layout was charming, and we loved the 10-minute walk to the beach, spotting turtles, birds, and fish along the way. The beach itself was lovely, with plenty of lounge chairs, and we especially enjoyed the wood-fired pizzas and diverse drink options at the snack bar. The animation team kept us entertained with a variety of daytime activities on the beach, from darts and Zumba to mixology classes. The food truly exceeded our expectations; we tried all the à la carte restaurants, with "The Blend" being our favorite. The buffet had a wide selection, including a fresh pasta station and an egg station. We found a creative workaround for the lack of a toaster by using the panini press for delicious grilled cheese sandwiches. Our room met our expectations, and we appreciated the eco-friendly touch of a large refillable glass water bottle instead of plastic. This commitment to sustainability was evident throughout the resort, with reusable cups, paper cups, no straws, wooden stir sticks, and large pump bottles for toiletries. The nightly entertainment was a pleasant surprise, featuring engaging dance shows, karaoke, and even a talented magician. Overall, I was very impressed and plan to return to this resort in the future!

The resort that serves burnt food, no towels in washroom and begging for water I didn’t feel that good at all. People needs to be bit compassionate about the tips and money they r getting from tourists. Also makes little easy for check in process so people will understand it clear and better.

Clean, great entertainment and shows. Staff is very friendly. Loved it! Would go back. My kids loved it as well. There was a great coffee shop and boardwalk to wonder around on. A bit big but its ok

I usually don’t leave any feedback for any of my vacation , but I must say this resort was one of the best experience I’ve ever had . I travelled with my sister who is visually impaired and the accessible access of the resort was impeccable . The staff , the service and the cleanliness of the resort . 10 out 10 for me and yes I will go back .

Secrets playa Esmeralda was a big surprise for the better. Really nice hotel ( we stayed on the preferred area and it is worth it for sure ). Great drinks great food and very attentive stuff. The beach was really nice and if you walk to the left the water is like a pool.

The Grounds: really nice beautiful lobby. Buffet - Marketplace - needs a facelift; for a 5 star looks more 3 star, chair are dirty and falling apart. Decor out of style Room - the cabanas the foam matrtress had mold and the cabana themself need painting. BUGS in room Staff/ Housekeeping - amazing Shows - really good Nightclub - Was fun Dj's reall good

When it was raining my room was flooded and when I complained nobody cared about my problems after 3 days with lots of stress I put towel behind my door ?managers was so rude when I cried he walked away and never apologized.

At first we were a bit disappointed as the resort is really small with only a central small pool/area and the activities like pool, tennis table close at 7pm so in the evening except the daily evening activity/show there is nothing else to do. But after 2days or so you start to feel like home, the food is great (best I have ever had in an resort) the staff is super sweet, the beach has a reef so you can snorkel every day at low tide (your feet can still touch the ground and fishes are swimming around you!). As there is only one central main area with the pool the daily activities like games organized by the resort are all happening there so youre not going to be quiet by the pool there is very often music, laughter! But for adults only they have another dedicated pool with another lobby/bar which is amazing if you don't have kids!

We had a wonderful stay at Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana. Beautiful location, with a stunning beach, clear water (aside from some sargassum which it is the season for), and plenty of places to relax and enjoy our time away from home. Our room though a little old, was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the whole experience even better, shout-out to our beach bartender Ambiorix who was always coming making sure we had a cold drink in our hands. We also enjoyed the food (portofino, mercure, and seaside grill were very good) and the variety of activities (games, dancing and singing) and amenities available. Shout out to the entertainment team Yumi, Rissa, London, Tupac, Pikachu, Rosa, Geoffrey, and Baby face for running energetic dancing lessons and entertainment at the shows every night. We loved the circus and rock show. The atmosphere was relaxing and perfect for a getaway. There was some construction during our stay but it was handled very well and didnt interrupt guests. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we would definitely consider coming back!

The grounds and pool area are well maintained. The lighting at night is especially beautiful and the market place has a great vibe, with shops, ice cream and pizza venues. Lovely area to take strolls and lots of seating options. The entertainment crew work hard to involve guests and we (party of 7 ranging 11 to 80 got involved), Food in buffet and snack bar, excellent. A La Carte, bit of a let down. Sports Bar food, again not so great. Rooms are tired looking and there was issue with the toilets. Bed was AWESOME. We will come back, but will upgrade.

We recently stayed at the Eurostars in Samaná and had a wonderful trip. The hospitality and staff were fantastic—always friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Our room and the amenities were kept spotless. Getting into the local town was very easy and convenient. The setting and views were spectacular. The beach was clean, beautifully maintained, and completely free of seaweed, with great ocean views and good food throughout our stay (except for the Italian / Greek restaurant). The entertainment was on the quieter side, but good enough to have a fun evenings. My only wish was the night dancing on the terrace went a bit longer at a minimal 11:30 PM, midnight would have been ideal. I would have loved to use the spa, but the prices felt quite steep compared to Canadian rates and didn’t seem worth the extra spend, though high spa pricing is typical for resorts. Tip: Try to book a room in the main building if you can—it saves quite a bit of walking. Overall, a great stay and I would definitely recommend it!

We just got back from another AMAZING family vacation at Senator Puerto Plata, and this time was even more special because we came back with our family and booked SIX ROOMS! This was our second time staying at Senator, and we are so happy we decided to come back. From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out, the entire team continued to make us feel welcomed, appreciated, and like family. Impressive Hotel for sure, beautiful green vegetation with many pool options. Everything is within walking distance including the beach. The food at the buffet and à la carte was ok, we were just not lucky with the Italian restaurant, the food was really bad. We enjoyed the shows, especially the great Michael Jackson concert. Most staff could use a little bit of training to improve on their professionalism. They couldn’t be bothered, it was as if they just didn’t want to be there. The maids were extremely loud. It was not easy to sleep in, which is what most of us like to do when we are on vacation. We were lucky to have Joel as our concierge, he was very helpful and very prompt in responding to our questions and needs. Our welcoming committee did not give a good first impression. A gentleman nicknamed Macgyver took us to a corner and asked us intrusive questions, including what we did for a living. He also talked down on the airline that brought us to Punta Cana. We found all that to be very unprofessional. Overall, we enjoyed our 7 day stay. If only the staff could be a bit more cheerful.

apon arrival i ask for superior they gave me standard i paid for superior next day they corrected error, front desk needs empathy, food was very good resort laid out as small but everything close, noise level load at night but stops 10pm or so buffet a lot of choice al la cart good, beach is good long walk for hours, security is good i left items on chairs nobody touch your stuff.. if you tip you there friend Ocean water clear on calm days, fridge stock with water coke sprite room 2 queen beds rooms p330 and up is good close 2 everything they have another section building away from action ocean view room pool beach close , beach lacks kayaks should be added there resort has been opened since 2023 closed 3 years, resort moderaten in good condition is not for single person most families groups go there is worth the money, relaxing vacation i hope is good review , the tour guide Jose is very good go on the cruse to the Catalinia Island boat ride is worth it ...

Overall we enjoyed our time there. The beach is beautiful and they really clean the seaweed very well every day. The pool area was also really enjoyable and people from the pool bar are very nice and constantly going around to serve you. I want to mention the only women at the pool bar Lady - she is a lady indeed - she is making awesome cocktails, not once mixing up an order and she is very funny always joking and with a smile on her face. The grounds are very clean and people are helpful and nice . Food was ok - at the buffet they could use a bit of variety in a 7 day vacation because especially for breakfast we had the very same pastries every day. But the omelettes and eggs and smoked fish was awesome and the ladies which make the omelettes are really good at what they are doing . All à la carte restaurants are good - we had very much fun, good food and very nice service at the Japanese and also the grill one - to mention here Marlon Brando- hard working and fun guy. Entertainment was also good, the shows were diverse and pretty good and fun.

No matter how great the hotel or food is the main part of taking a trip to a sunny destination where there is ocean is to Enjoy the beach . Sadly we did not experience this at dreams onyx hotel and spa . The excursion was ok but again the beach we attended was full of seaweed . Will not be going to the Dominican Republic ever again and will not recommend anyone. Else to go .

We really enjoyed our stay at the Barcelo Bavaro Beach resort in Punta Cana. However, we were very disappointed as many other tourists in this resort to see the extreme sargassum situation on the beach, which made the beach unusable. The smell of seaweed from the beach caused a strong unpleasant smell in the pool areas. I believe when booking this area with a travel agent, the travel agent should be able to warn the consumer of this extreme situation. We are beach people and this put a damper on our vacation. We could not even walk along the beach. We chose this particular resort because of the calmness of the ocean. I know this cannot be remedied due to nature and extreme climate changes on the Atlantic Ocean side, however, to pay full price for a resort and not have the use of the beach proved to be very disappointing for us, as well as many other tourists on this property. I had done much reading and research and I was aware of this situation however upon arrival I was astonished to see the amount of sargassum which even the best of crew members were unable to keep up with. We enjoyed the fact that we were able to use the facilities of the Bavaro Palace it's sister property. However, in comparison the Animacion team and the shows differed immensely! We found the Barcelo Beach side was just too quiet with many activities cancelled without notice on their activities schedule and no vacation vibes music played throughout the resort. There was only one show on the beach side that we enjoyed. We found that we were always taking the train to the Barcelo Palace side to use the gym, the hydroptherapy spa, they included two free visits and the massive pools. The Animacion team made a valiant effort and the shows were of high caliber on this side as well. We did have a decent room with a King bed and much to our surprise we had an ocean view. The variety, presentation, and abundance of food was highly noticably, however even though they had advertised a gluten free station at their buffets, there were no such stations and I had a gluten free card, it was hard for them to accomodate my needs and, I am lucky that I do understand and speak Spanish since at this resort most of the employees do not speak English. They were more than happy to accomodate my eating needs at three of the a la carte restaurants that we ate at. Overall, the cleaninness and the abundance of pools and a la carte restaurants and buffets were plenty when were allowed to use both resorts.

I stayed at this hotel from August 18 to August 26 with my wife and two daughters, and unfortunately, the experience did not match the 4.5-star rating at all. The biggest disappointment was the food. There was very little variety, and many of the dishes were served cold. The selection of fruits and pastries was also very limited and not what I would expect from a hotel in this category. The restaurants were extremely hot because the air conditioning was not working properly. It was honestly very uncomfortable to sit and eat, especially with children. During the first two days, all four of us were badly affected by the heat, which made the beginning of our family vacation very difficult. The pool was another disappointment. The water was very warm, so it was not refreshing at all and did not help with the heat. The room itself was acceptable, but the TV and internet were unreliable and did not work properly. Overall, I expected much better based on the hotel’s rating and reputation. I would not consider this a true 4.5-star experience, and I would personally rate it around 2.5 to 3 stars. I would not recommend this hotel to families with children or to anyone who cares about food quality, comfort, and reliable amenities.

Overall, I would rate this resort three out of five stars, rather than four point five. While the room itself was decent, the overall experience was disappointing. The food had very little variety, and most meals were served cold. Fruit options were limited and not very good in quality. Housekeeping mostly just, tidied up rather than properly cleaning. The floors and bathroom were often not cleaned well. The Wi-Fi was unreliable and kept disconnecting, and the in-room TV internet rarely worked. One of the biggest issues was the pool. The water was extremely warm, which made it uncomfortable to swim, especially in the heat. Overall, I had much higher expectations, and I don’t think this hotel deserves a 4.5-star rating. I personally wouldn’t stay here again, and I would recommend that anyone who values good food, cleanliness, and reliable amenities consider other options. They only positive experience was the staff. They were very nice and friendly and they try their best to help.

Perfectly appointed hotel with fantastic food, large rooms, and an excellent pool with lots to do. Staff were all smiles the whole time and made sure that everything was perfect during our stay. Largely couples during our stay so may not be ideal for singles looking to mingle.

We’ve been to Royal Bávaro six times now, so I thought I’d share my current thoughts on the resort. Overall, it’s still a fun family resort with lots to do, great room options, and the convenience of being oceanfront and all-inclusive. ? PROS • Lots to do: lazy river, FlowRider, shallow wading pool, mini water park, mini putt and playground. • Food available throughout the day: two food trucks, outdoor grill, pizza window and Diamond Club food options. • Great room options: one-bedroom suites and swim-up rooms are available, and the couches convert into pull-out beds — great for families. ? CONS • Rooms are starting to feel rundown: our room had no alarm clock, the shower barely drained, and there was rust on some of the cupboards. • Menus have changed: unfortunately, three of my personal favourite meals have been removed. ? • Dinner reservations: can be frustrating and difficult to get. Diamond Club definitely helps with this. Also very warm inside the restaurants • Nightly entertainment: not a ton happening in the evenings, especially for kids. • Pool maintenance: we noticed quite a few broken/missing pool tiles. We also seen a young boy needing stitches after cutting his toe in the pool, which was concerning. • Tons of seaweed. Obvi that can’t be controlled but there was nothing being done to try and tidy the beach. ? FINAL THOUGHTS After six visits, I’d still say Royal Bávaro is a fun family resort with a lot to offer. That said, I do feel like some areas of the resort are starting to show their age, and there are a few things I’d love to see improved. Would we come back? Probably yes. The overall experience, location, activities and family-friendly setup keep bringing us back. ❤️?

Viva Miches by Windham is very good. we have no problem for the room, spacious, clean, food, lot of selections, crew are very polite, pools are good, beach calm, no big waves. My wife and I was happy. I will recommend this resort to my friends

Hotel I had the Junior Suite with two beds. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom could use a little work, especially the stand-up shower. The pool was clean and well maintained. Overall, the hotel is a clean and pleasant place to stay. Staff The staff were amazing! After reading all the reviews about the staff in Punta Cana, I honestly didn’t have very high expectations. However, this place completely changed my opinion. The service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Beach The beach was the most disappointing part of our stay. It wasn’t suitable for swimming because there was a lot of seaweed and a strong smell. There were also a lot of boats and ships parked in the water, which took away from the overall beach experience.

The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. The food was great lots if variety and they accommodate my allergy towards dairy and nuts. The entertainment was for all ages. Pool side bar was amazing

The Resorts upkeep could have been better, the vent in our room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while as well as the AC not working as intended leaving us in a hot room all week long not fun.

FOOD IS SECOND TO NONE! every single day , consistent, huge selections, meats, pastas, You name it!, Drinks top branded!, exceeded expectations!, Beach was incredible, NO SEAWEED!, private type bay beach, resort super clean, rooms AC were amazing, Casino was incredible, I would recommend this place to anyone!!!!

i give it a 8 out of 10 the only bad thing was we could not enjoy the beach. The water was dirty and full of see weed. We like the beach and go swim in the water but could not do it any f the days nobody was in the water that part was disappointing. The resort and the food was excellent and the staff was great.

This area is incredibly chaotic and "stupid busy." * The Commute: You have to take a small train ride over to a massive plaza, which you then have to navigate through just to find your restaurant. We found this overwhelming and a complete distraction from the tranquil, chill vibe we enjoyed on the adults-only side. ? Nous avons passé des belles vacances, la nourriture, la pina colada , les activités et la plage étaient magnifiques.par contre, la chambre 2148 que nous avons occupé allait être meilleure si la sortie de ventilation n avait pas eu de moisissures. Bref, nous avons aimé notre séjour et c était la première fois que j ai vraiment profité de mes vacances.

This was our first family trip with our 4 year old and 1 year old and Royalton Splash Punta Cana did not disappoint. There was always somwthing to do for both kids, whether it was the pool, the beach, or the water park. The rooms were fabulous and well maintained. Only thing that could be fixed was the showers did not drain well and would leak from the side to the floor. The restaurants were delicious and service was impeccable, particularly at the Mexican Restaurant. Overall, amazing trip and we would come back with family/friends!

*RULE: No toilet paper permitted to be flushed down the toilets!!!! use waste basket--same rule as in Costa Rica. **Pro: beach is beautiful, minimal waves! Food and drinks. Security. Friendly. Hairbraided for good price. Punta Cana Airport and near the airport is Starbucks, Burger King, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, KFC. ***Con: Canadian Dollars NOT accepted in DR (vendors want their pesos or USD only) - so everything is very expensive, front desk is slow service and many don't speak/understand English, choking toxic fumes from boats/motorized rec vehicles, vendors along the beach that come up to your lounge chair non-stop, rooms have poor flushing toilets, restaurants around the area are loud with kids staying up really late at night. ****Comparing with Cuba----For this 3.5 stars, the cost of the trip was the most expensive one so far @ $2000 pp 2 weeks). Cuba 2025 Summer was $1300 for 5 star Grand Muthu Almirante (Emerald in English) Beach Hotel. Food tasted much better at Whala Boca Chica DR than any Cuban Hotel I've stayed at. Dominicans add spices and herbs.

Comparing with Cuba's standard of service and nature. Pros: Beach is lagoon-like, so shallow and crystal clear for a long distance. You have an opportunity to visit Saona Island where some scenes for The Blue Lagoon were filmed. The buffet is better than Cuba's 3.5 star hotels - more variety. Wifi is available at the beach. Two beaches to enjoy with a beach-front private restaurant and public road (locals on motorcycles use) that leads to a dock for boats and jets you can rent. Lots of private beach front restaurants to see along you walk on the shore. Tourist police patrol on motorcycle a few times a day and foot patrol by local police. Local grocery stores in a walking distance (Ole de Boca Chica is great). Burger King and Little Caesars. Cons: Airport is in Punta Cana so 2 hour, white-knuckle drive in a mini-bus. 12-minutes ride to Santo Domingo Internation Airport!!!!! This hotel has inconsistent service - bar, buffet and room cleaning. Can't relax --- "looky looky" aka view the merch (DR themed bracelets, t-shirts, towels), coconut/cashew brittle, flat bread deep fried, red candied coconut balls, corn on the cob, ice cream, Lots of construction all over the narrow streeted Boca Chica beach front town. Lots of litter in the ditches and left by the locals or Dominican weekend warriors. Drinking in the water in the day and evening.

Stayed at the resort for 7 days not a day in our stay where the beach is cleaned from seaweeds. Water is dark brown, aside from weeds it looks as if the oil from all the yatch , boats that are docked there are all in the water. It didn’t say in the description that it’s a few feet away from marine dock. We were also hassled by the people at the beach, hard to relax when they swarm you trying to sell you anything and everything. These hasslers also keep saying “Nihao” indirectly to me although I’m not Chinese which I think is very disrespectful to the Chinese people and to me The rooms smelled bad like sewer. The pillows are smelly although the cleaners changed the casings. The AC is not cold enough. We were also asked to be in a meeting the next morning after we arrived but because we decided to sleep in and not show up for the meeting when I asked AirCanada rep in Sunscape about our pick up time the day before our check out he said “ you missed your chance, you are all not in the list because you didn't show up in the meeting” The meeting is just about selling activities of things to do in Punta Cana which are far more expensive than buying online. The rep gave us a hard time before telling us the pick up time for airport transpo. He was asking for eticket number which I couldn’t provide at the time bec it was in my email and there is NO WIFI at the front desk area and at the Windows buffet area. I was ready to loose it and call the airline itself. We were also scammed at the airport by some dude named Miguel who lured us to go to Hard Rock Cafe for free breakfast buffet and discounted activities. On the way back to Canada 2 of my children were placed on stand by bec the plane was full they said. I don’t understand bec I paid for the package, I will understand if they seat at random spot and not together bec they didn’t buy preferred seats. Been on the trip with my family and it’s the first time I’ve experienced being harassed everywhere we go in Dominican Republic. Another thing, I do not know how someone from DR was able to make a $5.68 purchase using my account from the name “Rafael Mendez” which I denied bec I didn’t authorized him to make this purchase . I also recieved a reset password for my apple ? This is my first and last visit there.

The staff was very accommodating! We asked to have an extra bed brought into the room and they had it done within an hour. Rooms were otherwise mostly fine. Our patio doors did not lock, but this turned out to be helpful since our room keys deactivated basically everyday. Food was good but repetitive. They could use more effective security on the beach. The locals selling excursions were VERY pushy; almost to the point of harassment. Pools are awesome though!

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The grounds were always clean and well maintained, and the rooms were spotless and comfortable. The minibar was consistently restocked, with extra bottled water provided daily. We also appreciated the ice machines conveniently located throughout the resort. The food was very good, and the service was outstanding. We were especially impressed by the quality of service from the staff, who were friendly, attentive, and professional throughout our stay. The beach was cleaned daily, towels were always available, and most of the à la carte restaurants were excellent. The Spanish and Italian restaurants were my favorites, and the Japanese restaurant was also very good. One thing to note is that the portion sizes at the restaurants were extremely large. While the food was delicious, many dishes were much bigger than necessary, which resulted in a lot of food being left uneaten and potentially wasted. Areas for Improvement: Argentinian Restaurant: The service was extremely slow. We waited about an hour for our food, and we had to ask for bread and butter while waiting. Boats Near the Beach: There are too many boats traveling back and forth close to the shoreline. They pass frequently, sometimes every few minutes, and the smell of fuel can be noticeable and unpleasant. It would greatly improve the beach experience if the number of boats were reduced or if they operated farther from shore. Overall, this is a fantastic resort with excellent service, great food, and beautiful, well-maintained facilities. I would definitely recommend it and would gladly return.

Beautiful place well maintained clean delicious restaurant but sea weeds stop me to go in the ocean and I use only the pool , at least I have good weather , food was very good, service excellent, room clean and spacious.

We chose to be pampered by their Royal Service option and it did not disappoint. Upgraded room with ocean view in a spotless building. Access to an exclusive area of their wonderful beach ( with bala beds and padded loungers) where Aquino, David and team provided steady and impeccable friendly service. The beach is protected by a reef and is nestled in a bay so no issues with Sargassum or waves. The water was clear, clean, warm as a bathtub in June and one could spot some smaller fish amongst the rocks. Royal service has unlimited a la carte dinners which we enjoyed every night. Food was very good at all three and we were spoiled with upgraded wines included in the package. The buffet was very good but usually with a more limited variety.than some other AI's we have been to but quality was above average. We regularly took advantage of the Vintage club for mimosas and Spanish coffee in the morning and cocktails in the afternoon with upgraded ingredients.The staff at the Vintage lounge was friendly and service orientated. Pros - long, walkable, beautiful, clean beach. Consistently excellent service. High standard of cleanliness. Spacious bright room with modern air conditioning. Choice of two pools - one for families and a quiet pool for adults (except during high season).Well managed and safe. Cons - can be noisy and crowded during high season, door to balcony was stiff, limited outlets and hangers in the dated but super clean and freshly painted room,limited entertainment, no kleenex provided (byok),and the toilet paper was subpar (byotp). Not a party resort for the younger demographicalthough weekends can be noisy. Superior value and we are "hoping" to be back again every year for a week. As their slogan says, "Come as guests and return as family."

We enjoyed our stay tremendously! This is a budget friendly resort and was perfect! Before our arrival we were sceptic because of the reviews. I honestly do not understand why people would complain. This is a small resort but we loved that. 2-story buildings and we were right on the beach. Close enough to the coffee shop, buffet and snack bar. The staff are amazing! Helpful and have great attitudes. A special shout out Walter, Stephanie, Juan Carlos, Medranoq, Albert, Glery, to name but a few. From the time we checked in to the time we left we enjoyed our stay. If you want fancy, pay for fancy. We loved the authenticity of this place! Thank you Bachata!

We enjoyed our vacation despite a few issues. Our check in took until 5:30...room not ready. More discipline action needed by staff for improperly supervised children by negligent parents in pool and dining areas. Our upgraded room was large and comfortable with balcony and awesome ocean view. Our bath and shower needed attention (mold) which they took care of immediately. Housekeeping did a good job making up the room and keeping the fridge stocked. Pool area was relaxing, lots of chairs and pleasant bartenders. Pool staff could be more assertive enforcing Pool etiquette at the swim-up bar (babies in diapers sitting on Pool countertop). Most people enjoyed spending their day at the beach along with the burger/chicken wing BBQ daily. Buffet was average ... always something to eat but geared to adult diet. The 2 a la carte restaurants were delicious. Limited entertainment but staff kept us amused all day.

I stayed 14 days it was a nightmare. Lots of things didnt work in our room. Its a big resort so please be aware there will be alot of walking. No buses, it takes forever. Food was horrible. Service was terrible. Beach had a bad smell and alot of sargassum. As a female I didn't feel safe and I'll not return.

Food was good.Beds were not king as mentioned during booking , our kids room washroom was flooded with water, there was leak from somewhere from tub . Ceiling of their room was moulded and leaking. Everyday they took awhile to put back towels for bathroom. There was no snack bar if you feel hungry in between breakfast lunch dinner , you can just have drinks only.

Overall, this is a good resort and we had a pleasant experience. The food, location, pools, and facilities are all good. However, my main issue is the price. They charge a significant premium, around 20 to 30% more than many comparable resorts, but I honestly did not find the overall experience to be 20 to 30% better. A few things that stood out: 1. 24-hour room service: Having room service available 24 hours sounds like a great feature, but unfortunately the quality was disappointing when we tried it. The bread tasted like it was a couple of days old, and the coffee was very hit or miss. After that experience, I did not order room service again. 2. Pools: The pools are good, clean, and enjoyable, but they are similar to pools at many other resorts. I did not find anything particularly fancy or premium about them. 3. Water slides and activities: There are some extra slides and water features around the pools, which are nice to have. I tried them a couple of times and enjoyed them, but after that they did not really add much value to the overall experience for me. 4. Lazy river: The resort highlights the lazy river quite a bit, so I was expecting something special. It is okay, but compared to other lazy rivers I have experienced, this one felt more like a pool with very slowly moving water. It was nice to try, but definitely not something I would consider a major reason to choose this resort. The regular food was good, the location was good, and overall the resort was enjoyable. I am not saying this is a bad resort at all. My issue is simply the value for money. When a resort charges 20 to 30% more than comparable options, I expect something noticeably better or more premium. I just did not find that here. The overall experience felt very similar to other good resorts that cost considerably less. At a more competitive price, I would have a much more positive opinion of this resort. But at the current pricing, I personally do not think the extra cost is justified, and I would not return at this price.

The hotel was great the entertainment staff was great two of them stand put the most shakira and monkey!!! Always making everyone feeling welcome and engaged!!! Monkey is crazy and funny and full of energy shakira is a sweet girl always sitting and talking with us!! The rest of the resort staff works hard and are friendly too The beach is ok the cove is great!!! Its windy on the beach too. Was exciting to see the big ships pull up!!! Food was good no complaints lots to choose from at the buffet but restaurant food was even better as it always is on any resort!! No complaints from me
