Between May and mid December there are a couple of weekly charter flights from Halifax to London Gatwick by Air Transat and Thomas Cook. There are more weekly flights to London Gatwick available between mid June to mid September to meet increased demand. Sometimes cheap airfare is available at the last minute. Within 30 days of departure some airlines may offer a seat sale.  Keep in mind that seat sales are not guaranteed. There is no value in a seat sale that does not happen, especially if the flight sold out while you were waiting for one.  It is a good idea to discuss this with your tripcentral travel agent to find out the best options to have your desired departure date and the lowest charter airfares. Generally when looking for cheap flights it’s a good rule to book your airline tickets between one and four months prior your trip or holiday. Booking early lets you benefit from any discount airfare being offered before they sell out.

The advantage of charter flights from Halifax to London Gatwick is the cheap airfare. Commonly cheap flights can be found on charter flights because the prices don’t change with demand. Charter airfare is set in the fall for the following summer season. This means that Air Transat and Thomas Cook may already offer cheap airfare to London before any seat sales or discounts.

Most charter flights from Halifax to London Gatwick are considered direct or non-stop service. With non-stop service there are no stops en route.  Direct service means that although the airplanes may stop at another city to pick up more passengers but you stay on the airplane. You would be able to relax on the airplane from Halifax to London Gatwick with no worries or concerns about having to change planes.

Savings from cheap flights in border cities may not be real savings once the cost of getting to the different airports is compared.  Discount airfare and seat sales are only valuable if they actually save you money.
