There is one direct or non-stop Air Canada flight available daily from Halifax to London Heathrow airport from May to mid December. You may want to look into connecting flights to London. You can find the information for flights from Halifax on tripcentral.ca’s flight reservations system. Even with limited flights available you may be able to find cheap flights to London Heathrow from Halifax.
The best time to book your airline tickets is between one and four months prior your trip or holiday, especially when looking for cheap flights. Booking sooner than later will let you take advantage of any discount airfare being offered before they sell out. Seat sales do occasionally happen for flights from Halifax to London Heathrow. It is not advisable to wait on booking your seat because you are waiting on a possible seat sale. With the limited number of flights it is most likely the flight will book up and you would miss out on the flight you wanted.
One way to find cheap airfare is to compare scheduled and charter flights. Currently charter flights from Halifax to London Heathrow directly are not offered. However, Air Transat and Thomas Cook does have weekend charter flights to London Heathrow from Toronto mid July to mid September. People frequently don’t check the charter flights from Toronto to London Heathrow and miss out discount airfare. The departure times and dates are less flexible than regularly scheduled flights but can provide cheap flights.
Flying from Halifax to London Heathrow at the last minute is often expensive. With limited flights cheap seats sell quickly and occasionally flights will be completely sold out for a specific date. You may want to look at charter flights out of Toronto, or connecting flights out of other airports as an option. Frequently cheap flights can be found on charter flights because the prices don’t change with demand. Charter airfare prices are set in the fall for the following summer season. Occasionally discount airfare can be found if charter flights have last minute seat sales.
Another thing to keep in mind when booking a flight to London Heathrow airport is if the flight is a direct, nonstop or connecting. Nonstop flights are nonstop – no stops en route. Direct flights make a stop in another city to pick up or drop off passengers but a there is no change of planes. Connecting flights are flights that you actually get off one aircraft and board another aircraft. Air Canada’s flights between May and mid December from Halifax to London Heathrow are nonstop or direct. You would be able to relax on the airplane with no worries or concerns about making connecting flights.
Between January and April connecting flights with other major Canadian airports are your only options when flying from Halifax to London Heathrow. Connecting flights sometimes have a great advantage. You may wish to spend some time at the connection location. With connecting flights it is often possible to arrange flights that let you spend hours or even days there before continuing onto London. It is a great way to add a destination to your trip. Additional costs or savings may be involved, depending on the airlines and the season.
Your tripcentral travel agent wants to present you with all your options, including seat sales and discount airfare. They will give you advice so that your travel experience is based on your departure, budget and comfort needs. Your experience on your trip or holiday is just as valuable, if not more, than any cheap flights they might find you.
Occasionally discount airfare and seat sales can be found at border cities. If it is more convenient or less expensive for you to fly out of the border cities you may wish to explore that option. Just keep in mind any expenses or inconvenience involved with getting to a border city. Savings from cheap flights in border cities may not be real savings once the cost of getting to the different airports is compared. Cheap flights are only valuable if they save you money.
