Air Transat offers one weekly charter flight from Montreal to London Gatwick between May and mid December.  Starting from mid June to mid September this increases to two weekly charter flights. The benefit of charter flights to London Gatwick airport is the discount airfare. Charter airfare is set in the fall for the following summer season. This means you might find cheap flights, especially if there are any last minute seat sales. Cheap flights can be found within 30 days of departure, as long as the flight does not sell out first.

You can take advantage of last minute seat sales to get discount airfare. However, keep in mind that flights to London Gatwick do fill up. There is a risk of missing the departure date you want if you are waiting for seat sales.  It is a good idea to discuss this with your tripcentral travel agent to find out the best options to have your desired departure date and the lowest charter airfares.

The best time to book your flight in non-peak season is within two months of your desired departure date.  For peak season, mid June to mid September, it is best to book within four months of your desired departure date. Always keep an eye out for seat sales because they do come up, but don’t wait for one. It’s always great to get a deal, but not at the risk of your travel plans.

Most charter flights from Montreal to London Gatwick are considered direct or non-stop service. With non-stop service there are no stops en route.  Direct service means that although the airplanes may stop at another city to pick up more passengers but you stay on the airplane. You would be able to relax on the airplane from Montreal to London Gatwick with no worries or concerns about having to change planes.

If it is more convenient or less expensive for you to fly out of the border cities you may wish to explore that option.  Just keep in mind any expenses or inconvenience involved with getting to a border city. Savings from cheap flights in border cities may not be real savings once the cost of getting to the different airports is compared.  Discount airfare and seat sales are only valuable if they actually save you money.
