When flying to Paris you can choose to land at the Charles de Gaulle or Orly airports.
There are a couple of things to consider when choosing which airport to fly to:
What flights from Montreal to either airport fit within your travel plans?
Is there any discount airfare available?
Where is the location you are going and which airport is closer?
It is about finding the best value for you. If you can find cheap flights you may find it more valuable to take a longer drive to get to your final destination. If you are unsure if you should land at Charles de Gaulle or Orly talk to one of tripcentral.ca’s travel agents who have been to Paris. Based on your travel needs they will help you choose what is more valuable to you, discount airfare or the location of the airport.
Orly Airport:
There are only connecting flights from Montreal to Orly airport.
Charles de Gaulle Airport:
You can choose between connecting, direct, nonstop and charter flights to Paris.
Air Canada and Air France offer daily nonstop or direct flights from Montreal all year round.
From May to December Transat and Sunwing offer weekly direct or nonstop charter flights.
Transat increases their charter flights from Montreal to daily between June and September.
There are many connecting flights from Montreal to both Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports. You could fly with Air Canada, Air France, British Airways, Brussels Airlines, Corsair, Delta, KLM, Lufthansa, Royal Air Maroc, Swiss, Transat or USAir. You can use the flight reservation page on tripcentral.ca to compare the different flights from Montreal to Paris. You may choose to look for flights going to a specific airport, or both. If cheap flights are your priority then you want to check and compare all flights from Montreal to both airports in Paris. You simply choose all Paris airports and flights for both are shown. It only takes a quick glance to see the ticket cost and the departure times.
Finding Cheap Flights
Cheap flights on tripcentral.ca’s flight reservation page are indicated as being the best price. You can also see the best value airfares. There is a difference between cheap flights and the best value airfares. Best value airfares may be a little more expensive than the cheap flights but commonly they are more comfortable or convenient.
Look for cheap flights to Paris about four months before you go. Discount airfare could be available between one to four months before a flight. As with any good deals discount airfare goes fast, so you want to book sooner than later.
Make sure you include charter flights when you shop for tickets. Charter flights may provide discount airfare. Charter airfare is determined the year before. As a result charter airfare may be the best value for your money.
Seat sales give you another alternative when looking for cheap flights. They can take place any time there are unsold seats. Seat sales normally take place sometime within 30 days before takeoff. Waiting for seat sales may seem like a good idea. You can get discount airfare. There are also disadvantages to waiting for seat sales to book your tickets. It is not assured that there will be a seat sale. Most people don’t realise that ticket prices can go up as well as down. You could wait for discount airfare only to find the price increasing the longer you wait.
Another important thing to consider is that flights to Paris do sell out. You may find yourself going from waiting for cheap flights to not going at all. Be careful about waiting to buy your tickets. If you wait too long there may not be any tickets to buy. Don’t put your trip plans at risk waiting for seat sales.
You may find discount airfare to Paris from Burlington, VT. American, Delta and United offer connecting flights to Paris all year. Make sure you get the best value for your money. Always balance the savings from discount airfare with any inconvenience or added expenses getting to and from Burlington, VT. Savings from cheap flights in Burlington, VT may not be real savings once the actual cost of travelling to the different airports is compared. Cheap flights are only valuable when they actually save you money.
