This was a great spot to spend a vacation Staff were amazing, food was great. Rooms need a bit of a upgrade but really who spends time in the room when you are on vacation Absolutely no issues or complaints. Would go back in a heart beat

Overall service is very good, waitresses are very kind, hotel is old. We had a room with ocean view and a small pool which was very nice! Food is not the greatest in the restaurants but it is ok, we had dinner in the Italian restaurant and the pizza was made on a pita bread breakfasts are amazing can’t complain! Overall everything was ok with the resort

The food at the buffet was limited. No peanut butter at breakfast, no bacon unless you asked for it, but the a la carte restaurants were better. Hotel staff lovely. Pool chairs all gone by 630an. We set an alarm to get up at 530 to get some and go back to bed. Rooms not updated, broken and stains. Cockroach in the shower. Toilet had a lot of problems. Positives were our view was outstanding!!!! Best I have ever had.

Fantastic managers and staff though the entire resort! They are always welcoming, super happy to see you and amazingly accommodating to your needs. Decent pool with an unobstructed view on the sea and beach line. Beachfront is clean and not over crowded allowing you to fully enjoy the beautiful beach. Most of the restaurants had decent food but we loved Chi Chi Mediterranean restaurant and the French place. Also the burger place is really good too! Texana burger recommended! The buffet breakfast and lunch were always good. The resort room on the other hand were not up to standards- I had to switch rooms 2 times- all 3 rooms had the same issues. The air condition vents and wooden slats over the sinks in all rooms have a thick layer of dust and debris not great for dust and mite allergies. The bathtubs are falling apart, with rusty open drain holes, bubbling tub paint, mouldy clothes line above the tub and the sewer smell of the drain near the toilet. First 2 ocean front rooms with a balcony had a loud whistling sound because the doors do not have a seal. Gave up the ocean view room to lagoon view to get a peaceful nights sleep. This resort is about 20 minutes from Cancun city and the public bus stops at the resort. About 15 minutes to the nightlife near Coco Bongo. And an hour to Playa Del Carmen and 5th Avenue shopping area. 15minutes to the airport! So you get to your vacation really quick!

First of all, we were amazed that such bad reviews were written, but then soon realized that some people just like to complain about every little detail. Everyone has their own opinion. While it does need a little bit of sprucing up here and there (which I believe is about to happen), ie. a pool tile or two missing, it is modern, the food is amazing, the beach is spectacular, the people are undeniably amazing, namely Alex and Esteban by the pool!! We actually felt sad leaving them because they were so attentive and great. I mean I’ve never had somebody clean off my sunglasses for me a couple of times a day before. They always ensured we had a bucket full of ice water and whatever drinks we needed. I can’t say enough about them. I would say most of the staff are top notch. As for our room, the best views ever. The plunge pool right on our very own private huge balcony, was second to none. The ribbons of turquoise and blues through the ocean, you thought you were seeing things. The barbeque by the pool every day, you can’t beat how amazing that was. The buffet was even great. Kind of crazy long wait for the ala cart restaurants if you go later, but we went early and always got a table. As we were there to chill and relax, so we did exactly that. Karol, our travel agent, we can’t say enough about him and I have already sent people his way. We will definitely be back to NOW EMERALD CANCUN.

First of all thank you Trip Central for such a great deal. It was a fabulous vacation for us. We enjoyed a lot. Now Emerald is one of the greatest resort. Concierge, Room service and Security were outstanding. Plus the view and resort pool. Well budgeted. Only thing I would like to recommend is to improve the quality of food and options for vegetarians and vegans. Since We were a vegetarian couple on board, we didn’t have much options to explore. But the food quality was also par the basic.

Ground area is wonderful, beaches are fantastic, service is excellent, transportation is pretty good, staff is friendly, the weather was perfect. There might be some noisy neighbours in connected rooms but it’s just life ... ?!

We were at the Now Larimar in March 2020 and our stay was wonderful. We upgraded from the Garden to the Larimar section as we prefer being closer to the beach. The resort is beautiful! The pools, the grounds, the beach, the super friendly people, everything from this place is amazing. The food was delicious, even the buffet : so much variety to choose from. The resort is very clean and we felt very secure here. Something for everybody : lots of activity at beach, i.e. kayak, parasailing, sailboats, etc. The only strange - awkward thing is that the preferred pool is placed in the middle of main traffic path to get to the buffet or plaza.Would have no problems recommending this resort.

From the moment we left Ottawa to our arrival in Cancun we enjoyed every minute. My friend and I travelled together for the first time alone and it was such a fun and stress-free experience. We loved the service at New Emerald Resort and the staff were exceptional. The property was clean and the service by the pools was great. We loved our drinks and the fluffy pool towels. The nightly shows were fun to watch. We would love to come back once again.

I’m a single man travelling with friends to relax and that’s what I did. Grounds, food, drinks,rooms, service and everything else was beautiful and amazing. Booked preferred and will be doing the same next year. Til next year!

We had an amazing time. The grounds are beautiful. We stayed in a swim up preferred club and it was the best one yet that we’ve stayed at. It was connected to the large pool and pool bar. No getting up early for saving chairs cause we had our own. The buffet was average and the a la cartes we did were all good. The service around the pool area and swim ups was amazing. No waiting for drinks there. Same at the beach. The beach was beautiful to walk and swim in. A bit rough for me but people were enjoying it a lot. In the preferred club you have a butler and he did an amazing job for us but they all seem great. We also had connecting seating area to the buffet restaurant for breakfast and lunch with a menu or you could go to the buffet. Overall amazing resort and will be returning next year.

This resort is very nice! We love the layout. We were in the new family section. It was easy to get around to the different pools, the beach, lobby and restaurant area. We don't mind walking a bit, but everything is close by. The rooms were beautiful. We had an issue with the air conditioning in the room. We couldn't lower it to a comfortable temperature. Once I contacted the concierge they sent someone to fix. The resort was very clean. We enjoyed the activities at the pool. The kids loved the family pool with the slides and lazy river. One complaint we have is the buffet (breakfast/lunch). The food most often wasn't warm/hot, often there were no nachos. There are no french fries at the buffet, you can find some at the beach grill, where there was often a wait to get some. The restaurants were good. If someone would ask me about this resort, I would recommend the Now Larimar before the Onyx just because the buffet was excellent at the Larimar. Please not we couldn't enjoy the buffets or restaurant at Breathless because we had a child.

The great the good and the not so good. Great, beach - sandy and great to swim. Room, super clean and spacious. Pools, amazing and lots to choose from. Food - great to good depending on where you go. The buffet was decent. Italian was a top contender, as was the Asian. Steak and French were ok. The ground at this hotel are beautiful, and all of the staff are great and willing to help with everything. The only thing that I would change would be the water park. Which didn't have any type of water slides to accommodate my 4 and 6 year olds who love water parks... All the slides where for the adults as they were fairly big. Other then that such a wonderful resort for the week! Would return for sure!

I do recommend Now Onyz everything was excellent the food the service the employees are always there to offer a drink. I would go back. The pools were clean night entertainment was very good. Lots of activity if you want to participate.

This resort was amazing, right from the check-in to the check-out. Staff were amazing, friendly, well trained, and always willing to go above and beyond. The resort was clean and very modern. Pools and beaches very clean and amazing. Food was fantastic. We did preferred which was well worth it. We had a butler who would book us dinners and also got a cake for my wife’s birthday. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Nice resort. Needs to do more to lessen its environmental impact ie. use less single use plastics but overall was an enjoyable trip. Could use a few more people on the front desl to speed up check in and check out process.

We thoroughly enjoyed the facilities and restaurants at Now Latimar resort while we stayed in next door Secrets resort. Staff, food and room quality and cleanliness were all exceptional. Beach was beautiful and clean. Everything well maintained.

Beautiful resort to have the chance to stay at. Beach stretched forever both ways with white sands. Food at all the restaurants was very good. Drinks were perfect. Staff everywhere were hard working and friendly. Overall a top resort!

I really enjoyed my vacation at the now emerald! Quiet - great staff! The French restaurant was amazing! Both the food and the service!!! I loved the atmosphere- no reservations needed at the restaurants. Lots of towels and chairs. The servers at the beach and pool work very hard to keep you in drinks!

Loved this resort. Especially the staff. And the entertainment was outstanding. Not only in the theatre but the music in the lobby and poolside. Food was good, room and grounds nice. Never left the resort during our weeks stay.

We returned from our vacation at the Now Larimar rested and relaxed. There are a few things that could have made our stay better. Three days in a row, I asked for water with my breakfast. Three days in a row, I didn’t get any water. Breakfast is a buffet, so after the waiter brings coffee, they just stand around. It was very frustrating. Our breakfast waiter, the same one for the whole week, was extremely pushy on our last day for a good review on trip central, to the point of taking our friends phone to do the review himself. Wow! The second thing would be the smell at the Now Garden pool bar. Whether you were at the main bar or down at the swim up bar, you would often get a whiff of vomit. It was rather gross. Lastly, if you are scent sensitive, Now Larimar would be a concern. In the lobbies and main washrooms, the scent was nauseating. It was extremely strong and the 1st day you think it smells fresh, but as the week goes on, the scent just becomes over powering. They need to find something less over powering or not use anything at all. All that being said everyone was friendly, the service was good, as was the food.

My husband and I traveled with our 6-month-old baby to this resort and we were relatively pleased with the service. Just like most resorts, staff could be hit and miss - some staff were very helpful and some just doing the bare minimum. Beautiful hotel grounds and kept exceptionally clean, especially the pools which I saw them scrubbing every morning. The buffet is pretty good, the only negative was that it was extremely repetitive. Other resorts we've been to tend to do themed buffet nights so that food is switched up so by the end of the trip I was tired of the selection. There are restaurants but we only tried one (the grill) as we did not hear positive things about the other ones. Room service food isn't great quality so I'd definitely stick to the buffet. The daily cleaning service was great and most of the staff were very friendly and happy to help us with anything we needed. The only other thing that I would say negative about this resort is that because of the way that the washrooms are built, they hold condensation and humidity from the shower so I saw mold in the shower which was gross. And a few of the resort staff kept asking how old we were - and one even made a comment about 'babies having babies' which annoyed us to no end as we aren't actually that young, we just look it. But of course, our age is no one's business.

I had such an amazing time at the Now Sapphire resort. I do not have any complaints. The staff was so nice, always smiling and happy, no one was aggressive or pressured you to buy anything. The beach was amazing and they did a great job at keeping up the the seaweed. The kayaking included in my stay was awesome and so much fun. The spa was beautiful and very professional. And the food was AMAZING! The staff at the restaurants were so friendly and made me feel very welcomed. Also at night time there was barely any mosquitos or bugs. I LOVED every minute I spent there and I will most definitely return to this resort in the near future.

The public areas, meaning the main floor of the hotel was lovely. The beach beautiful! The pool was too cold. The Mexican people were so lovely. They really aimed to please. We did not like the rooms. They were very plain. We felt the rooms should have been more decadent. The shower was plugged. We complained for three days then got moved to another plain room where the sink was plugged and the coffee maker was broken, but the shower worked. Drank nothing from room frig except water and there was never enough even though request was made for more water to be left.

The hotel was very clean, staff extremely friendly and food excellent. It was a great place to go for a wedding. The surrounding area was beautiful and the locals were very nice. The weather was great, sunny almost every day.

Now Sapphire is a beautiful resort, that we will definitely visit again. The grounds are very nice and well kept. Beach is beautiful! Room was nice, very standard - we stayed in a Tropical View King bedroom. What takes this place to another level is the staff; everyone is amazing, accommodating, and extremely friendly. At the end of the stay, we were asked our favourite employee, and there really are too many to name.

Such a wonderful and amazing resort! Everything was perfect. Beautiful public area and grounds, large rooms with a good view, friendly staff, Delicious and varied dishes, very nice restaurants and bars with various foods and drinks, lovely beaches and very clean pools, happy night parties, everything was good, we enjoyed so much and recommend to all. we wish to go there again in the future.

Our stay was good. Morning tea in our building was never on time. Only one type of Cookies with your tea. I lost my $20 from my little purse which I left in the room. I didn't want to report it as this employee could be fired. On the whole we enjoyed our food. And the trip was enjoyable Very friendly staff.

Beach was great , clean beach , great staff at bars and restaraunts Great drink service on beach Pooooor house keeping 3 days we waited till after 5 then while we were getting ready to go out they wanted to clean ... not Day to check out , knocking on the door at 0830 !!!!!

Overall a great resort with friendly staff and excellent service. Enjoyed the proximity to the beach. The food was fantastic and always fresh. I would return and would recommend to my friends. Only criticism I have is from other guests slamming room doors at all hours of the night, but hey we’re on vacation so it’s not a huge issue.

Getting to Now Onyx November 28, we attended a presentation on site approved by the resort. My credit card was stolen during the presentation on Saturday, it was used the Wednesday for over 10 000 $ of charges, some of it gas !!! So far the resort has done nothing to compensate us for our troubles. So beware on the hotel resort.

Some positives: Lots of variety for food and beverages Beautiful view from all the rooms Some great waiters on the beach such as Edgar, Puc and Omar Some disappointments: Time share/points people/trying to up sell from the time you enter the resort: for a cost you could upgrading your room, upgrade supper, buy points for the Spa to buying time shares...it got so we were scared to make eye contact with staff The rooms were okay however the water shut off from time to time which was inconvenient when you were showering Tub didn't drain so we were unable to use The service was very slow in some of the restaurants, on the beach as well as the breakfast buffet where it was difficult to get a refill for your coffee to having to ask for bacon as the hid it behind the counter

Dining areas good with high quality small portions ( as it should be ) of food, with exception poor ambiance Buffet area. Great viewing lobby over beach/sea with bar service. In evening music sometimes far too loud. Good quality bedroom/suites all with sea views and balconies.

Best thing about this resort was the room. Food was pretty disappointing. Staff looked very unhappy. Falls advertisement couldn’t access half the things on the resort was for vip. Harass by individual selling merchandise in the lobby. Layout of the resort was very poor

This is one of the nicest resorts I have stayed at in western Mexico. The rooms were large and the bed was very comfortable; the restaurants in the resort provide a good selection of food in their menus; and the facility provides opportunities for a number of activities to keep you active so that you can enjoy the food and drink that all-inclusive resorts provide and not feel too guilty. Perhaps the most special thing about this resort was the people who work there. They work very hard to provide their guests with excellent service, they make you feel that they are happy in what they do, and they do so with humour and great attention to their guests.

We stayed at this resort last week and had a great time. Definitely more of a family vibe rather than party but that is what we were going for. The staff at the buffet, restaurant and bars remembered our drink orders (whether it be my green tea at breakfast or my daughters shirley temple at lunch) and were always super friendly. Also, the first resort that I have been to that carried our plates from the buffet to the table. Definitely recommend the Italian restaurant for dinner. Our tropical view from the bathroom was gorgeous too.

Grounds were clean, rooms were squeaky clean and very roomy, lots of restaurants and the "hotel activity team" were very good. The Halloween Party was unexpected for us and was our favourite night there. No 24 hr. restaurant.

The rooms are super nice and clean. the staff were always very friendly and helpful. The food was very good even if the portion sizes were on the small size. The bartenders could make anything we asked for. The grounds were under renovation but that was not really any problem.

Our family vacation and we have no support from air vacations or trip Central to change hotel for the same value. We have several pictures of what we have being through. They want us to pay full penalty to leave Now Jade. We have travelled the world and never had such a poor service. We will advise trip advisor and sent a dispute to our credit card for non informative of what was going on at the hotel. The construction is very loud and we can’t have access to the whole resort. Two restaurants are closed. We are at the beach and we still ear the construction. This was an unique family vacation. My mom is 85 yrs old and we are so disappointed . The family counted on us since we have travelled many times to Riviera Maya in 5 stars. We have being to Valentin, Hard rock, Secret, Paradisius etc.. We wanted a compensation or a transfer.

I thought the employees were especially friendly and went out of their way to make you happy. The grounds and pool were maintained very well. There were many activities to choose from. The room was not maintained to a high degree but was acceptable. I enjoyed my stay and would return again.

It was a really great experience. But let's start with some of the negative qualities. Some of the hotel is still under renovation. We are a bit of night hawks, we typically slept in till noon, but there was constructions and banging around that time that woke us up a few days in a row. When we were arrived after 9 hours of travel, we were starving. But the staff wanted to show us a quick presentation (1.5hour) about going to see a different hotel that would take around 3 hours to do. We read reviews about it and decided to not go (best decision). They took about an hour to get our luggage to the room after we got to our room. At this point we had been traveling for 12 hours without any food. And just wanted to eat but had to wait for clothing to change in as the hotel does have a dress code during food services. Aside from that and hawkers wanting us to buy something. We had an amazing time. The hotel is 3.5/5 for cleanliness as it's still bring renovated. Food was 5/5. The staff I would give 10/5 as they were always amazing to us and we're very helpful. They were so friendly and kind. The pools were really nice and relaxing. The adult pool was our favourite area. The hotel is located just steps away from a bus stop, making travel quite easy. Lots of great amenities and things to do. We really enjoyed our time here.

Now Onyx was by far the BEST resort we've ever visited. The rooms, grounds, buffets and restaurants are unmatched. We definitely recommend this resort to all looking to stay in Punta Cana. Planning to return soon.

The resort was very well-maintained and the staff exceptional in delivery of service. Now Amber has great access to the city, beaches, and pools without having to take long walks to amenities. The city is also has reasonable transportation costs to explore all that the Puerto Vallarta area has to offer, such as zip lining, jungle tours, snorkelling, etc.

Me and my family went for a 4days trip at now onyx.The resort was nice with friendly staffs. They alway say hi and joke with my kids. However I find that house keeping didn't do a good job cleaning the room . The floor had lots of red ants crawling in the room, it was sandy and dusty in the room even after room cleaning. The swim up pool had lots of dead bugs. The phone didn't work in the room for house keeping and room service so we had to change the phone 2 times and still didn't work so we just press 0 to get transfer. The foods weren't bad at all but wasnt great. I hope they can change it up. Everyday the buffet has the same thing so it gets boring. I like the layouts of the Resort and love the beach and main pool area.i might think twice about coming back since we all got bitten bad by mosquitoes and they have the same foods in buffet every day 😑

Pros: - close access to the beach - friendly and happy staff - clean environment - hotel rooms were overall well kept - very nice gym facility - drinks and bar service was excellent - staff kindly decorated the hotel room for birthday, including balloons and a door banner Neutral: - food was just okay. Buffet was much better than a la carte dining options - beach was well kept by staff, constantly removing seaweed from shore but ocean water was inevitably infested with seaweed anyways also causing a slight fishy Odor to the overall beach area Cons: - extremely poor signage. Difficult to find your way around the resort. And you never know which restaurants are open or closed each night until you get there - jacuzzi pool in main pool area was filled with bugs - cleaning service kept forgetting to refill our toilet paper and towels. One of the days, forgot to clean our room entirely - a lot of solicitors on the beach trying to sell you things - half of the resort was reserved for “Preferred Club” members which pressures you into paying a premium to upgrade to get access to these services. ie: 1 out of the 2 main pools are reserved for preferred club members, seating areas at beach/restaurants, etc. Which was not advertised or warned of before booking this hotel. Also, the main eating area (the buffet) is outdoors and only preferred club members have access to the AC seating area.

Hotel grounds, service, staff and overall quality of room was very good. Food selection and quality was superb. Fun nightly entertainment. Dance club, Casino, Kids clubs, even a indoor bowling alley is available. Very good value and would certainly recommend this hotel based on the experience our group of 10 had for a vacation.

Now jade resort - Check in: arrived 1130am and didn’t get our room till 3:10. The preferred club room was dark and not a VIP atmosphere. 1/10 - Romantic Dinner: not at all what is shown on the web page or advertised. A table beside a pool. 1/10 - Internet: Keep getting disconnected when I’m our own room! Very frustrating. 1/10 - Room: I got the Ocean Front View King room, it’s a nice room and view is great except all the seaweed! 7/10 - Resort: Front Entrance: 7/10 - Restaurant: 7/10 - Pools: 6/10 - Room service (cleaning): They missed cleaning our room twice and when we call them they say we come in an hour, never showed up. 3/10 - smell of seaweed in the morning is awful Some days you smell smoked ashes or seaweed in the morning.

Hotel extremely clean. Staff alright. Heres the real deal..... Internet is shit. Like pure shit. It only works directly in your room and cuts off the minute you step into the hallway. Main Buffet no air conditioning. We were dripping every meal. It was hard to even eat warm food....the didnt even open any of the glass windows for a breeze even... Also Halls and entryways/main room, Sports TV ROOMS nothing. NO a/c. Only in your room sleeping is any AC. Room service takes one and half hours for food ordered at any time of the day. They only had hot dog. Hamburgers. Salads and fries. We arrived on Tuesday and the resort was medium to full until fri 2 wedding parties arrived. So from fri til Tuesday the hotel was PACKED. One wedding was for 150 people. I dont mind noise or loudeness but it made service EXTREMELY slow for everything. Pool ran out of towels constantly. If you get sun burned the towels in room are like horrible white sandpaper despite being washed thousands of times. Thank god i brought my own towels. I got a horrible rash from walking wet on an excusion and needed Polysporin and a patch/medical tape. I called front desk for a med kit and they brought me a bandaid. Bring your own stuff medically. And bring med tape in case a bandaid wont cover open wounds/sores. Mexico in general was HOT in Apr/May. Like 35+Celcius and above. Plus wet moist heat. NOT dry heat. The nightclub was BRUTAL. It played horrible 90s hip hop so out of date we went twice and left immediately...its def a family resort. And partying in a city is more than 30 mins away so an hour or more in mexican traffic one way. IF YOU ARE DISABLED MENTION IT WHEN CHECKING IN. I saw so many people limping from the pool and restaurants down the long halls past buildings 3 and 4 exhausted from the heat. Its a 10 min walk to your room each time from building 3 and building 4 or farther is a 15 walk from front desk/amenities and 5 mins from middle pool. Also no elevators. So anything other than 1st floor is stairs galore.

The grounds were very well kept. Very picturesque. The restaurants were very clean and had lots of different food and choices. The fruits were awesome especially the mangos and sour sap. Also the stations where u order were very good. Like the crepes and seafood pastas etc. Overall I really enjoyed the buffet and the French alacart was amazing

This hotel was simply amazing. The staff was top notch and the grounds beautiful. Food was good too! I do wish there had been more sit down lunch options near pool because the buffet got a bit repetitive

We stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago but on the "family" side of the resort. This time we upgraded to the adults only side. We had a special restaurant for breakfast where everything was made to order. The lounge was wonderful serving food and top shelf liquor. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We now feel that upgrading no matter what the resort is worth the added cost to really enjoy a vacation. The only negative was the seaweed on the beach but it is happening to a number of islands as well. I checked online and there is a website that tracks the seaweed blooms in the Caribbean. There are people out all day long at this hotel cleaning up the beach. The pools are wonderful, especially the one for the adult only.

Once again, had a great time...upgraded to Preferred as we were returning guests. Poolview King. Food great..favorites were Mercure and Italian. Never did the buffet at lunch or dinner. One excursion, to Cataline Island...fantastic. Will return. Entertainment has gone down a bit in our opinion....more emphasis on the staff being the headliners..bring back the magic show, and Beach Party. Moving the foam party to the beach is a mistake...was too much fun in the pool....

First time at Now Larimar Punta Cana and was very impressed overall. Beautiful beach, seaweed not an issue they are constantly cleaning up. Food was really really good. Rooms were large and very clean. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Pool area was nice but because it’s a family resort was always packed with kids. Had to reserve pool chairs by sitting at pool from 630am or towels would be removed and you wouldn’t get a lounger, very annoying. Overall a very nice stay

We absolutely would recommend this resort. The grounds are beautiful, clean and spacious. We found the hotel staff to be the friendliest we've ever had and the food was the best. We would definitely go back. Only criticism is the upgrade to preferred club isn't entirely worth the cost. There's no specific system to decipher who is special preferred club or not so everyone ends up mixing together. And there are just as many kids as there are adults.

Beautiful,lush grounds. Amazing service. Way more seaweed than expected but they work all day to clean it up, therefore beach was not great & only a small part of the resort is good for swimming. Rooms were very comfortable.

Our second stay at a Now Resort and was excellent. Previous stay was Now Amber in Puerto Vallarta. Staff, grounds and restaurants all excellent. Only downside was amount of seaweed. Nothing they can do to stop that but there must be a quicker way of cleaning it up every morning.

the grounds were very well manicured, beautiful pools and beach views, staff did a great job of keeping the beach free of seaweed and very well manicured food was very enjoyable and was of great quality - portion sizes small in a la carte restaurants but you could order as much of anything as you would want. the buffets had plenty of selection and you would be hard pressed to not be able to find something you like even if you are a very picky eater. staff very friendly and courteous and you were never pressured to tip although based on the excellent service it was appropriate to do so often the rooms were kept very clean and luxurious with refreshments replaced daily and more often if need be

We just returned from a week at Now Onyx Punta Cana. We were there from March 22 - 29. We didn't realize when we booked that this week coincided with American Spring Break, it often felt we were at a kid's resort. Even when we upgraded to a Preferred Private Plunge Pool suite on the Adult side of the resort it was the main hang out for the college age kids. The Preferred Club down by the rooms was often the hangout for the under 18 crowd. Kids are allowed in all but one of the Preferred Club restaurants. As a couple looking for a quiet, relaxing escape from our busy lives at home we were disappointed. The resort itself has a nice tropical feel to it but not always the cleanest especially mornings at the bar area outside the restaurants. The food was good though not a big selection. The food at the a la carte's was quite good. The rooms are a good size but the shower and toilet are a strange setup as they are in a small area together with an open shower. Plenty of clean towels and housekeeping checked in again in the evening to see if we needed anything. The traffic in the hallways is very loud (when you are in your room) and we were woken up frequently during the night with people in the hallway. Housekeeping did a good job of the room. The beach and ocean were fantastic. They were constantly working to clean the seaweed but there was quite a bit of garbage in the sand around the loungers. We didn't spend any time at the main pool as it was quite loud with kids of all ages (from infant to teens). The adult pool was quieter but if you weren't out before 8am you weren't getting a lounger as people were out early and "saving" them. Every morning was a hunt for pool towels as they didn't seem to bring them out until 9am or so. We learned to bring fresh towels to our room in the afternoon so we had them for the morning. Our Concierge Moe was fantastic, he visited us in person a couple times a day, ensured our requests for our minibar were done daily. He even arranged and personally escorted us to dinner one night at the French restaurant at Breathless. I can't say enough good things about him. The staff at the resort were some of the friendliest I have ever come across, they always had a smile and cheerful "Hola" when they saw you. Now Onyx Punta Cana would probably be a very good resort for those travelling with kids of any age however for people travelling without kids I would recommend going elsewhere.

Every aspect of our experience was a 10/10. We felt very safe during our trip and the staff members were awesome! This was my girlfriend and my first trip out of canada/USA and we will definitely come back, that's a promise. Mucho garcias!!

The resort was beautiful as well as the rooms. The beach was beautiful also. Most of the staff were very friendly. The entertainment was poor because it was geared more for the children then for the adults. We didn't like having the kids mixed in with all the adults. There should have been an adult side and a kid side to this resort. The only restaurant that was very good was the Blue Grill. The buffet and other restaurants were lacking better quality food. We found that management were always trying to upsell the other resorts they own. The $200.00 dollar resort credit is a joke. In order to use the resort credit, you could only use a certain amount of credit for a service and then you had to pay the rest. The prices for the spa were outrageously high. Even though the resort and beach is beautiful, we would not go back there mainly because of the poor management of the resort and for the fact that this resort is not geared to the adults.

This resort is beautiful with great ocean views. The rooms were large enough and clean. Restaurants and Buffet were above average and room service was prompt and tasty. The resort was on top of the seaweed on a regular basis as needed so the beaches were walkable and swimmable. Being close to Puerto Morelos was great and we walked there regularly in 45 minutes. The entertainment team needs some work and the evening shows were adequate. Good food, good drink, great resort overall. It was are 2nd time there.

That's what you can expect when you stay at Now Sapphire! Staff was amazing and service was outstanding. Everyone was cheerful, friendly and helpful. Grounds were amazing, pool was beautiful and the beach was lovely. They were battling seaweed while we were there which made it undesirable to go in the ocean. Food was good! Lots of choices! Great family holiday. Would definitely recommend!

The resort itself was really nice and very big. There was so many parts to the resort and a lot to do. It was children friendly and it also had an area that was for adults. The breakfast food was really good and a lot of variety. Best yet

This is a smaller resort with amazing staff. The food is great, the rooms clean and comfortable. Our room was cleaned daily before noon and nightly turn down service provided. We went to the beach each morning and spent later afternoon at the pool. There was lots of activities during the day and nightly entertainment. The favorite staff response is “it is my pleasure”.

Our stay at Now Larimar was great! The grounds and beach are beautiful and well kept. Our room was very spacious with a great view. We found the glass wall between the bathroom and the living area a little ackward as it did not provide much privacy. Overall the service was good most of the time. Special thanks to Gladys from the Preferred reception area who was always so helpful and pleasant.

Went with a group of 8 people. Resort is extremely well maintained. Grounds were beautiful and lush. Staff was lovely and friendly - never pushy. Celebrated a special birthday while there and the staff at the Italian restaurant went out of their way to provide us with a delicious birthday cake and fun experience. Wilki and Naikol were our favourite servers at the buffet. Food was great - loved, loved, love the Italian restaurant and the Steakhouse was our second favourite. Rooms were lovely and always clean. The beach is beautiful and the pool was great too! The only thing we didn't care for was the push to discuss timeshares when we first arrived. We were all tired, hungry and thirsty and the only thing we wanted to do was get to our room to refresh and change then find food and drink.

The Now Onyx is a wonderful resort! Everything about our stay was superb: the staff, the cleanliness, the food, the beach, the pools and grounds. My adult daughter and I were in the family section and it was wonderfully quiet and calm, yet also had good entertainment and easy access to the adults-only Beathless next door. We highly recommend this resort.

Had a great time at now onyx Punta Cana. The rooms, property, and staff were all outstanding. In particular, the wait staff on the beach were great, especially Mariya. The food was very good, but on occasion it lacked a bit of quality. For instance, I ordered spaghetti bolognese at the Italian restaurant, Capers, and it was not very good. I asked my daughter to try it, and she said it reminded her of the canned spaghetti she ate as a child.

This is a beautiful resort, very clean with exceptionally attentive personnel. We were treated like VIP guests the whole time We have only one concern which needs to be mentioned. There are two buildings to this resort. Upon arrival we were nor aware that our rooms where across the road a short ride from the lobby. From this building to the beach is roughly a kilometer. Fortunately my mother and I were able to be relocated to the main complex as it would be impossible for my mother to go back and forth. My brother however had to stay at the other site. This aside, the food was very good with unlimited access to the a la carte restaurants. I would definitely recommend this resort but insist on a room in the main complex

My mother and I loved the Now Onyx Punta Cana. The facilities and the beach were beautiful, the staff were exceptional and so friendly. We both found the food delicious, especially the a la carte restaurants. Very relaxing trip. We would definitely go back to this hotel! 10/10

Overall we found this resort very clean and staff was exellent. Food and drinks was great as was the entertaiment. Beach area was clean and not crowded. Didn't like being blindsided by the sales pitch from Unlimited Vacation Club.

We have just returned from a 7-day stay at the NOW Larimar in Punta Cana. We have nothing but good things to say about this resort. This is our 5th stay here. We stayed in the former NOW Garden as well as the main resort. We were treated exceptionally well. The food is great with a lot of variety at the buffet and a-la-carte restaurants. You won't go hungry! The beach is outstanding and the seaweed is removed daily. You can walk for miles, the view never gets old. The pool areas offer relaxation or pool activities if you want to participate. The serving staff and Entertainment Team work hard to keep everyone happy. The grounds are spacious, well maintained and beautiful. The rooms were clean and comfortable although nothing changed too much in the last few years. We have to say it feels like home and it's good to see some of the same staff again.

We have been to Punta Cana many times and stayed at many different hotels and I would have to say I would not recommend this place (Now Larimar) for seniors. We were approximately the length of 5 football fields outside the lobby, then at least another 3 or 4 football fields from the lobby to the beach. It is a lot of walking for anyone with sore knees or hips that a lot of us have ( the over 60 crowd). I ended up with large blisters walking to the beach. We did of course ask for a room change but were told the hotel is full (ha ha ) , however I am sure a lot of people in this section did the same thing. The rooms were very small compared to other rooms. We were definitely in the 2nd class section though we paid the usual price. They did say we could upgrade to the "Preferred Club" for $60.00 USD a night!!! The preferred club is what the hotel is all about. They had 2 pool, private reception rooms, upgrades amenities and what I thought was not very nice, a big restaurant by the beach for them only. Everyone else had to go up to the main buffet for lunch or eat at a small out door snack bar. The hotel itself has a lot going for it, very clean, good food, a lot of a la cartes, prompt service , etc. If we hadn't been stuck in no mans land , it would be pretty good. In the future you might tell the over 60 crowd they should probably go to a different hotel where you might walk a good distance but not miles.

Now Onyx This is an absolutely beautiful resort. Upon arrival you are handed a cold cloth to refresh your face. The check in process went flawlessly. The personnel is always upbeat and friendly. The rooms and grounds are upkept meticulously. The food is 5 star. I would recommend this resort for both family and couples.

Hotel was extremely clean. Nice sized rooms. Walk in shower, jacuzzi on every balcony. Light up mirrors. Pools just outside your sliding door. Hotel staff were excellent. Food and brinks were amazing. Lots of umbrellas on the beach. Sand was soft. Love having the freedom of going to the breathless and dreams resorts. No wristbands required. Just a really beautiful place!

On four occasions we advised four different individuals that are jacuzzi did not work. At no time did anyone contact us to have this fixed. It was broken when we left. Our television did not work properly; for some reason it kept coming on at night. This was eventually fixed, but did disrupt our stay the first couple of nights. You advertise that we have a bar in our room that is checked and restocked each day. Our bar was not restocked the entire week. We were asked to go to a meeting not realizing it was a high-sell time share 90 minute meeting. We thought we were attending a meeting to find out about our return information. We really felt intimidated. Our flight was delayed due to technical problems with the plane which was not the resorts fault, however, I waited 90 minutes while the transat representative was on lunch only to hear, nothing they could do about helping us book a room in Halifax for that night to check with the hotel representative. The representatives from the Now Laminar looked and me and advised not their problem and nothing they could do and went to the next person about their concerns. We found it difficult to get a seat at the pool, as most were reserved by placing towels on the chairs and empty most of the day. We also asked about an upgrade upon our arrival on Tuesday and were advised, maybe Sunday night, the price will be $40 or $80 depending on where were placed which we were willing to pay, But, this would really only have been for one day, Monday. I understand the resort was full, but there did not seem to be a problem of getting upgraded if we bought your unlimited time share for $27,000. This experience was good on many other fronts.

We really enjoyed this resort. Everything is centrally located and easy to walk to. The food was excellent. The best food and wine we've had at any resort. Service was always excellent, including pool & beach service. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable and resort is kept clean. The only thing lacking is a quiet pool.

The resort exceeded all expectations. Staff were wonderful, very pleasant and attentive. Rooms and grounds were very well kept. Food was excellent. Beach was beautiful. Entertainment crew was amazing. Wonderful resort to visit.

Excellent entertainment, food and hospitality! Every person working at the resort seems genuinely enthusiastic and it was an absolute pleasure once again! Very clean, food was amazing at Castaways and Capers as well as the buffet and room was so comfortable. Live music in the lobby was the most enjoyable way to finish off the day 👍🏽

This resort is one of the most elegant properties in Punt cana. The surroundings are outstanding where ever you look. We stayed in deluxe tropical view and enjoyed the room immensely with its superb location to the beach , restaurants and lobby area. The grounds are immaculate and are in full view wherever you decide to walk. Restaurants are not reserved so its fair for everyone. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The evening entertainment is first class and non repetitive. Very enjoyable for everyone. We have been to Punta Cana many times and found this one to be our favourite.

grounds were very well taken care of, food was great with lots of variety, service and staff were just great, very helpful .....room was good, lots of room and comfortable, turn down service was much appreciated .......gym was in a great location with the sunrise each morning......

The Hotel is 5 star,incredibly clean,all staff incredibly friendly. The food is amazing, the grounds are impeccable! Every thing is 5 star about this resort except this year they were having a terrible time wit seaweed.

This place was everything we wished and more. Mister O'Neil suggested us this hotel that we had never heard of before. It was everything he told us; clean, beautiful, impeccable service, impeccable food, and so much more. My husband and I know what we want. And we received 10 fold what we expected. The staff is amazing, the beach is breathtaking, the resort is quiet, the architecture is wonderful. The hotel is new of few years, so everything is new and clean. Not only we recommend this place to our family, but it's officially the go-to place to all our family members. A no brainer place. If you want a peace of mind, this is the place to go. Thank you again O'Neil for presenting this resort to us, we cannot be thankful enough!!!

We arrive early and rooms usually aren’t ready until 3pm, by the time we ate they had our room ready before 3pm which was nice. Great service from start to finish, resort was clean and well kept, Crews worked hard to keep the beach clean. Food was very good too, the only thing is they could use more beach loungers.

We stayed in the adults-only "preferred" section. It's serenely beautiful, close to the beach. Everything was great, the service, the food and the drinks. Special mention to Felix and Aris for their amazing attention to our every need.

We had a great time at the Larimar resort. Great entertainment team really engaging, great activities, food was good, but no real Caribbean food. There was an adults only restaurant that was 19 +, since we paid adult price for our 15 year old we feel we should have had access to this restaurant. Either that or have a youth price. Coffee portions were small, like 1/2 of a small everywhere in the resort. Teen's club was not what it was advertised to be... was a sports bar with some games for teens.The Xbox and Playstation were both broken. The bar that was in the "teens club" was an alcohol bar so men would be sitting around watching the game and drinking when it was to be a place teens could go and hang and grab a smoothie. It was advertised on line that there was a floating iceberg climbing inflatable in the ocean however it was not there. The rooms were very clean, bathrooms very clean everywhere in the resort, grounds very well looked after. Most of the week we received toiletries however about 4 days in to the stay we had to keep asking for them as they stopped stocking our room with them and it was really a pain to have to keep calling for that and also to have our fridge stocked. Without buying into the preferred club it would have been nice to have access to more than one main pool at the Now Larimar. The preferred club had 3 pools and we had 2, however one was a swim up bar one so most people in there were drunk. The other one was not at that resort but down the street. Beach was clean, seaweed cleaned up constantly, however the people at the pool selling excursions constantly were very annoying and the people selling their goods on the beach were as well. You couldn't just sit and relax without being harassed.

Out experience was amazing! All the staff (especially Edwin) were so great! We were a little upset at the sales presentation given to is though and would recommend everyone avoid it. Other than that, we had an spectacular holiday!!

This was our 6th visit to the resort and as always, we found it to be a wonderful vacation. Domyray Nunez was true to her word and we had a great room location and were well looked after. Special mention to Ronny (bartender in preferred lounge), Altagracia (server around the pool), Fraudicio and Alejandro (bartenders at preferred pool), and Modesto (server in buffet). The only problems we found were owing to the guests themselves. There were so many small children not being supervised!. Parents seemed to assume someone else would look after their kids as they ran amok around the bar and jumped into the pool in front of our chairs. We were fortunate as repeat guests to have been upgraded by the resort management. However, for those who pay substantially extra to upgrade, it would be nice to have at least one area for Adults only. We also couldn't believe the number of people eating around and even INSIDE the pool! Come on people, use some common sense and follow the pool rules!

Staying at the Garden section was a great choice for us, after a busy day at the beach, was great to return back to a quieter section. Rooms are small, a bit tired, no hangers, no dresser for cloths and a strange sliding door for the bathroom. Short walk to/from the Garden/Larimar but there was a tram running alll the time, very convienent. Overall, the food was quite good, nice that there were no reseverations required for the resturants and except fot the French resturant, men could wear shorts! (Long pants required at the French) The rack of lamb at the French was quite good, went twice! Drinks were good, usual well junk but they did have the better bottles, just had to ask. Tipping did help but wasn't necessary. The grounds were wonderful, made one relax a bit more just walking through the property. There is a ton of staff and many "mini managers", we did experience a few times, the mini managers chewing out the staff in front of vacationers, not cool. Two annoying things for the week, vendors on the beach and the time share sharks. The main one for me was the female shark (positioned perfectly along the main walk to the Garden lobby), she hounded us for the "breakfast" meeting so she could get her points? and after telling her we are in the 80% of people that would never buy, she kept at us. So, after three days of this and not wanting this every time we walked by, we found a path that skirted her and had a wonderful rest of the week... A very good middle of the road resort, you won't be dissapointed!

I went with high expectations for this hotel given it was a 5 star. The room was exactly like the picture, which was great. Service was good (usual nothing out of the world, great service in Mexico for sure) and the facilities looked like the pictures advertised. What I didn't like about the resort was the pool area. I didn't upgrade to the VIP section of the hotel, which they say is better. There was NEVER space available. Guests would actually wake up at 6am, leave their towels on a chair and do their thing. It was REALLY frustrating. I also wasn't too impressed with the buffet. I liked the Cafe they had. I was happy to learn that they have vegan alternatives for dairy. At the buffet, I felt a bit limited. The "freshness" of the food is what I was most looking forward to, but I wasn't too impressed with the variety. I didn't try the restaurants - but people did enjoy them. Options were limited for vegetarians really. The buffet had more. I felt that (obviously) the hotel was all about presentation vs. solid quality. The gift shop = RIDICULOUSLY expensive. $7.00 for a lighter? absolutely ridiculous. Again, the hotel was VERY lovely, really nice and clean amenities. But, I'd be just fine with a 4 star - it wasn't really what I was looking for.

I had a great time. weather was perfect. I went to join a wedding party that left before me. Even that I went as a single person I had a beautiful time. I saw how the Family areas were separated for some more adult areas. The preferred package was worth the upgrade. I went for beautiful and relaxing time and that is what I got. The food was good and the staff were friendly with me.......I would go again

The house jazz band was excellent. Need to see more of them. Maybe have them playing softly in the main lobby. Jose the bartender at the Now Garden swim up bar was very efficient and friendly. Man needs a raise he is that good. Best manicured beach along the strip.

The grounds were beautiful, well maintained and stunning. The staff went above and beyond to ensure the guests were happy. Food was excellent, at the buffet and alecarte. Definitely would recommend this resort.

Something here for everyone. Good hotel entertainment staff, very engaging with lots of activities and enough to also keep the kids busy. If you would like to have an experience away from the kids, then book a preferred room and you will have access to the adults only pool as well as other great benefits. Food and service was good. Beach is OK, not as clear water as in the pictures but that could have just been the time of year.

I found the resort very comfortable and accommodating. The grounds were maticulously kept. The staff were most welcoming and friendly; attending to all of our requests. A beautiful holiday. The beach areas require some attending. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

I had an amazing vacation. The resort was beautiful and very clean. The staff are incredible, everyone was so nice and accommodating. The food and the drinks were delicious. I loved that they had a coffee and ice cream shop.
