We spent a week in a Classic Ocean View room at the Sea Breeze Beach House and had a wonderful stay! Our third floor room overlooked one of pools and the ocean was just beyond that. The room itself was well appointed, had a very large balcony and very clean. We dined at the Cerulean and Aqua Terra restaurants and were always happy with the food variety. The Sunday evening we arrived, there was a seafood buffet. The following evenings we dined a la carte and enjoyed such things as pan seared duck breast, braised lamb shanks, steak and fish. Our servers were always attentive and helpful, never hesitating to let us substitute a food item with another on the menu. The breakfast and lunch buffets were good too, although some of the items were a little spicy and we had to be cautious to look for the offerings which were a little more bland. We didn't attend the Saturday evening barbeque and fire show, preferring to dine a la carte, but those who went enjoyed it. Bar tenders did not hesitate to try for the first time making for us a drink they were unfamiliar with and did a great job! Bar selection was very good! Every staff member we encountered, from front desk reception, gardeners, housekeeping, bar tenders to restaurants service was friendly and helpful! The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained and we had our choice of four pools, two of which were adults only. The beach situation was a little less than ideal, as strong winds were creating substantial waves, which brought in quite a bit of sea weed. The Sea Breeze is not a "party place" and although there were some young families there, the average guest age was about 60. There was some light evening entertainment, but it was very quiet by 10:00 pm on average. Overall, our stay was an enjoyable experience and we would not hesitate to return.

Came here on our honeymoon and couldn’t have been happier! The resort is beautiful with open air dining and bars. The pools are spotless, and the rooms are stylish and comfortable. Special thanks to the managers and chef Angela for making me feel safe eating gluten free for celiac!

After an exceptional stay last year, our return to The Sands was a major disappointment. Across the buffet, Noir, and dinner, all proteins were overcooked, dry, and tough, and drink servers vanished for the second half of our trip. From check-in to check-out, staff were dismissive, disrespectful, and distracted by their phones. While we love Barbados and enjoyed local gems like the Worthington Food Court and Beans and Bagel, we will never return to The Sands.

This property has very clean rooms with professional helpful staff. The grounds, pool and dining areas are well-kept. The property is situated on a lovely beach in a very good location. I stayed in room 28 and loved it.

The hotel was clean and well looked after ! Beach was clean , friendly employees lots of restaurants near by , you were able to walk to most places. We had a kitchen in our room perfect for quick meals , air conditioning worked well , perfect weather for the 10 days we stayed !

A typical 3.5 star resort, a bit run down.The grounds were kept clean, however tables and chez loungers were disgustingly dirty at all times. The food is tailored to the Brits liking, a typical English breakfast and deserts, not much of a variety. The room cleaning was good and thorough. All in all it's a pleasant resort, with beautiful views and sunsets, monkey visits and a friendly crowd.

We booked the ACV supersaver room (243) and were really impressed with the value for money. The air conditioner worked great and there was no issues with dampness in the room. There could have been more room to hang items, but there was a lot of drawer storage. The room even had a small European style balcony overlooking the Gap, which was a surprise as we expected no balcony or terrace. We had great service from all the staff, enjoyed the chill atmosphere and the low key entertainment, and had no issues getting shade or loungers. There is an issue with Sargassum on Dover beach, but it comes and it goes. We are not big ocean swimmers so it didn't bother us. There are big waves at Dover beach and it's not a gentle area for swimming. There are two pools, one of which is quite small. We got to see sea turtles laying their eggs on the beach, which was amazing. Keep an eye out for them at night! There is a little bit of construction going on at the moment on the walkways, which will likely take the next few months to complete. Work starts around 7:30 am, and depending on where your room is you may be disturbed by the machine used to move the sand and stones around, but we didn't find it too disruptive. The food in the restaurant is really good, but the prices off the property are better (there's a convenience store close by for beer and wine, and several street food locations to eat at). They also have a mini fridge and a kettle in the room. All in all, we would love to come back here. The chill ambiance, the oceanviews, and the location on The Gap make this a great value option.

Rooms are ok size. Bathroom clogged . Face issue of sewrage over flow. Room was smell like shit at that time. I will give them fair rating .************************************************************

Spent 7 nights at the Sands. May 2026 Right from the warm and personal welcoming upon arrival, the stay was fabulous. Highly recommend this resort very clean and well maintained, wonderful staff. alwats friendly and available at all times. Rooms are very spacious , loved the separate living space from bedroom, spacious balcony. Food was great, with lots of variety , rotating from ala carte to buffet for lunch and dinner, afternoon barbecues. Would definitely vacation here again was sad to leave. Special shout out to Ricardo ( jack of all trades) you needed anything he was the man!

The resort is just the right size if your looking for pool, restaurant and ocean all within sight and do not want long walks to reach any of them. The food was excellent switching between buffet and a la carte for lunch and dinner. Plenty of drink options and the bar tenders always willing to help you make a choice. One particular bartender, Gregory stood out and always had a smile, made suggestions and joked with us daily. It felt really nice going to bar and having someone great you like an old friend. 5 stars to Gregory. Also Ricardo, who seemed to be everywhere doing everything. Man with many hats, and doing it all with a smile and enthusiastic attitude. He would literally seek us out to make sure we had everything we needed. The beach is small, but we had no issues with it other than not being able to take long walks. Rooms were great, we had 2 levels with a small kitchenette and living room and bedroom and bathroom upstairs with a large balcony. Trip from airport to hotel is only 20 minutes, which was awesome. All in all, we totally enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is very clean and the people are friendly. The resort did clean the seaweed that washed up on the beach. There were no rocks in the water. The nearby reastaurants had good food as well. The pink building and pink towels were cure. It is my favorite colour.

Its our 3rd visit in 5 months Thats how much we love the be club. Ill say it again...if you are looking for luxury and 5* you will be disappointed. This place has all the things we are looking for in an all inclusive. Great people, good food, convenience, beautiful beach...quiet. We will be back after the renos. Love you Beach Club and Barbados.

My stay last week was absolutely wonderful. The entire property was quiet, peaceful, and perfect for unwinding. The beach was incredible — calm, clean, and just steps away. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Every single person I interacted with was so positive, kind, attentive, and genuinely helpful. They made the experience feel warm and effortless. The location is also fantastic, close to so many amenities while still feeling like a relaxing escape. This was my second trip to the island, and I will definitely be coming back. If you’re booking, make sure you choose an ocean view room — you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful grounds and beach-our penthouse butler suite was huge-had a great view of the ocean and the infinitely pool -the food was good and would highly recommend the Bombay restaurant-the hotel staff was wonderful- very friendly, accommodating and helpful

Generally well kept and clean. Beach was not very big and was unusable till around 9.00 a.m. because of the tide. Had to beg the beach staff to put umbrellas up for us on one occasion after sweltering in the sun for 2hrs. Food was repetitive at the buffet and little choice. Noir, the a la carte was ok. Nightly entertainment was good. Biggest disappointment was the attitude of a lot of the staff. A lot of eye rolling at what we thought were straight forward requests. Many of the other guests had the same experience. We made the best of it but would not return here.There are a lot of other minor things i did not like about this resort but the main downfalls were the staff and beach.

After spending weeks researching various resorts, reviews and different sites, all the negative reviews were wrong and the positive reviews were spot on. This resort was amazing, clean, service was great, the staff were very nice and friendly and always willing to help. This resort was perfectly located within close walking distance to St Lawrence Gap (excellent night life and restaurants) and a short cab ride to downtown Bridgetown with excellent shopping and close to Savvy on the Bay for daily excursions and beaches. The Rooms were very nice, decent size and nice balconies. Restaurant, bar, pool, beach are all very close and easily accessible. Our flight was delayed for 5 hours and the hotel was very helpful in allowing us to remain in our for the day. The food was good, decent options, not a huge selection for more than enough. Short commute from the airport which was nice as well. Beach was very sandy, no rocks, no sea weed and the water was clear. I would highly recommend the Sands Barbados.

Its a very large complex. The lay out isn't straight forward at all. But.... the food, drink and service were unbelievable. There were some minor hiccups but they work tirelessly to ensure client satisfaction. Beach is flour like sand but rough surf and sargassum

The hotel was torn down shortly after we left in 1992, so we were very excited to return and see the “new” version. The location is perfect—close to everything and situated on a beautiful beach. The property itself has incredible potential. It’s large enough that it never feels crowded, yet small enough to be easy to navigate. The resort was clean and pleasant-looking overall. We chose the all-inclusive option and were glad we did. The breakfast buffet offered plenty of choices. On four days we had lunch delivered right to us on the beach, which was both delicious and a fun experience. Dinner each night was excellent. While there are theme nights, there is still good variety. The lasagna one evening was fantastic. Another night featured grilled meats on the BBQ, and there was also an Indian-themed night—which wasn’t my favorite personally, but it was nice to try dishes I’d never had before. On Wednesdays, Pacifica opens, and we had the best sushi along with a Pad Thai that was honestly the best I’ve ever had. The dinner staff were attentive and polite every evening, providing great service along with the excellent food. If I returned, I would avoid a first-floor room. The balcony wall is solid at the bottom, so when you sit down you can’t see the view. The property itself feels a bit tired, and the rooms could definitely use some updating. There was also one day when we had no water due to repairs. A heads-up would have been appreciated, as we ended up going to dinner that night feeling less than fresh. I’d also like to give some staff shout-outs. I can’t say enough good things about Kirsten at the bar. She made me a specific margarita on the first night, and that became my drink for the entire week. She even researched where I could buy the tequila she used. Gregory was a true jack-of-all-trades and helped us with a couple of issues. He was the most pleasant person on the entire resort. The dinner waitstaff were very attentive, and Rhonda along with Sarah (the supervisor) made a great team. Unfortunately, we did have a couple of significant issues that were never addressed. I asked twice to speak with a manager and was told both times that one was not available, which is not acceptable. While there always seemed to be a lot of staff on site, only a few appeared to be actively working. Management was not very visible, and some staff seemed disengaged. Food: 10/10 Resort: 6/10 For what we paid, I expected more. In summary, I loved the location and the potential of the resort, but unfortunately it did not appear to be managed very well.

The beach is gorgeous and the swimming and snorkeling were great. Very comfy beach loungers. Fun and friendly beach service for drinks and food. The reason we wouldn't return was that I was yelled at by a hostess for giving a cat some food. Very loudly and aggressively. I was shocked and immediately in tears. Loads of people were feeding the cats but apparently it is not allowed. Understandable but no rules sign anywhere and I didn't need to be yelled at. A simple please don't feed the cats would have been complied with. I didn't feel comfortable eating in the only restaurant after that.

My husband and I stayed here for the first time and we were very happy with the hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. Restaurant is conveniently located if you want to grab something for your room or if you want to stay at the hotel for a meal. Time Out is a basic, no frills hotel that we will definitely be returning to!

The hotel was beautiful. The grounds were very well kept the rooms were clean. The food was excellent. The people are lovely. We made some friends. It was one of the best holidays we had they sing us goodbye which was really nice, but they have a lot of little special touches that you’ll enjoy best holiday ever

Coconut Court is a lovely hotel set right on the ocean. The views are wonderful. Staff are friendly, however there is no rush to get your order, even if it is Island time! The rooms are satisfactory and kept clean. We did have an issue with water drainage in the bathroom sink and shower. When brought to management's attention a repair was attempted but no change was seen. Rooms were equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. There was NO coffee maker however. Cliental were mainly older adults. Any entertainment was during dinner service and basic.

The resort is located on a quiet hill, away form the main artery traffic. Very well maintained. Rooms were great with view to the nearby gully (looks like small jungle). The resident monkeys were peaceful, not aggressive and did not steal (as we initially feared) any items from the balcony. Most resort visitor were elderly Britts (over 95%), with few if any young tourists. For those without a car, a shuttle would take you several times during the day to the Haywood Beach ( 5-6 min drive) complimentary. We rented a car on our own dime so that we can have a full island experience. However, if you do not rent a car, you are seriously restricted as where you can go on the island or the hours you can go to the beach. We found the formal dress code for dinner (which was religiously observed by all the older Britts) somehow out of place with the tropical resort. It felt like we had every night dinner with Prince Charles at Buckingham Place. Also the waiting time at lunch ( up to 1hour and 30 min- all lunches and most dinners are a la carte) were a total waste of time. I would have much rather preferred a buffet style lunch and use the extra time to do just about anything else ( hit the beach, take an afternoon nap etc). Also dinner, 6 out of the 8 nights we spent there) was a la carte with reservations take for fix hours with little room for flexibility regarding the chosen dinning time. The food qualify was average and certain far below the price we paid for the 8 nights we stayed at the resort. The restaurant management controlled the food cost exceptionally well for the owner of the resort; the way the control food cost is that both lunch and dinner experience are based on the shame factor. I doubt any of the super civil and mannered Britts dares to order more than one food item form the menu. The resort is "all inclusive" in name only with regards to food, as tourist are heavily restricted on what they can chose to eat from the a la carte menu and certainly in terms of the amount of food. You have to be bold and creative to get up satiated after a dinner or lunch at this resort. All in all I would rate the hotel and the amenities at 5 stars ( out of 5) and food maybe 3 out of 5. Haywood beach ( the only one to which you will have access to if you have no car) would rate at 4 out of 5 stars. Not bad at all, but if you drive there are other, nicer beaches. I would give the island of Barbados however 7 out 5 stars for safety (and I criss- crossed the island in the 7 days spend there, including off the beaten path places. Absolutely safe where ever you go.

Beth did an excellent job in finding and planning the vacation. Everything was done and accurate—-greatly appreciated. I would call her anytime. I would book a hotel closer to the Rockly area next time.

This was our second Trip to The Beach Club. We love this place so much we immediatly booked again to go back this April. Not a fancy 5* however we love the vibe and the people..right on the beach. A shabby chic. Buffet works for me enough variety. Just love this place❤️

Look at the picture of the pool - railing does not go to the deck - stops at top step which is a foot below the deck - not safe Food was ok but there wasn't much variety and organization of reservations was cumbersome Room was fine We requested a ground-floor room because of mobility issues - we were placed on the second floor

The staff at the hotel were the highlight. Over the week I was there, I got to know a few of them pretty well! One of them even remembered my name in passing one day! The room was simple, functional, a good size and clean. Never saw any bugs, which is something I look for. We were on the third floor and had a glimpse of the sea from our balcony. The linens were white, clean and comfortable. They were changed daily by housecleaning. The upper floors are not accessibility-friendly, which isn't an issue for me, but worth noting. No safe in the room as far as I'm aware. There was a mini fridge in the room, and the bedroom is air conditioned. The soaps, lotions and conditioners are wall-mounted in the shower and are the "zero" branded ones, which was nice. You're only issued one key, which is an old fashioned key as opposed to a keycard, but my roommate and I just left the key at reception if we were both leaving the premises separately, not a big deal. I found the landscaping and flora on the grounds pretty nice for a hotel in this price range. Once again, the staff were very friendly and get to recognize you over time.

Small intimate resort. On the plus side the location is good.Close to the Gap,bus routes, and a couple beautiful beaches.Nice beach fronting the property. The meals were a mix of buffetts and A la carte that were very good. Never any issues getting recliners at the beach or around the pool. Bar service was adequate, with a nice surprise of some premium brands. The room was a little bit tired, however lots of space. These are converted from condos. Problem with this the air conditioning only worked in the bedroom. This needs to be ratified.

Hotel rooms were well appointed, nice pools (they weren't heated at the time though) and food was excellently prepared/seasoned. Beach is where it fell flat. Was unusable because it was unmaintained and had huge waves being on the Atlantic side of the island. I would not return personally for that reason.

Barbados Beach Club "No Frill" resort is a hidden gem. If you are looking for a 5☆ with lots of activity and people the Beach Club is not for you. Very basic amenities that are extremely clean. The food is limited but exceptional. The one Alcarte restaurant was excellent. People are charming and we had fantastic ocean view. That fact the resort is literally right on the beach. It was like having your own private beach. We loved it and will be going back❣️

We four Canadians greatly enjoyed our 10 days at Barbados Beach Club, late November into December. It amuses us to read critical reviews by former guests who seem to expect Sandals luxury while obviously not wanting to fork out Sandals prices. As many others have pointed out, this is an older hotel, but one that the staff works to keep clean and operating and welcoming. The food offerings, both at the buffet and upstairs in the a-la-carte, were varied and delicious, with lots of healthy choices. We were regulars at the beach; it was so nice to find more than enough beach chairs and umbrellas (and quick service in setting those up). The local mini-buses are handy and easy to use. Our visit was made extra special by: our friendly housekeeper Carrain; helpful Zakila at the front desk; Sanjean and Natalie at the a-la-carte; Joyann and Nathan at the buffet; and Shaun and Sandra who rock that bar service. Alas, the BBC is scheduled for major renovations in 2026, so prices are bound to go up. We are glad we got to enjoy it at such a reasonable cost.

Extremely enjoyable. Met all of our expectations & more. High quality throughout with superior meal, attentive staff (Rohan, Gregory, Tameshia & Shomari are shining stars). Hope to return if it stays as all-inclusive.

We enjoyed our holiday very much. What a beautiful beach it is. The hotel itself is in dire need of the facelift it is about to receive. Most staff members were kind and diligent. Special shoutouts to Maureen and Kathy-Ann from housekeeping, as well as SanJean, Joyanne, and Zuriel from the food department. The buffet food was good. The wine was not great. There are very very few chaise lounge chairs at the pool, and a staff member should be checking that rude guests don’t place their towels on the few existing chairs, and disappear for hours at a time. This is monitored at other resorts. But overall… a great place to visit.

Great hotel, room and beach view was amazing. The pool was awesome and the afternoon swim up bar was wonderful. Very central, shopping plaza across the street. Had a european meal plan so did not utilize the dining on site. The beach was beautiful, however had red flag days, so we kept to the pool.

This hotel is a really beautiful place to go and relax in the sun. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. The food is good and very nicely presented. The grounds, including the beach, are very clean and well maintained. The location is convenient to getting to Bridgetown or Oistins. This is our second time going to Coconut Court, and we will definitely go back again!

Thank you to the staff from being checked in and greeted to our departure, the staff including Isabelle, Rayden, Ronald, Anderson, Britany, Sabrina, Damian and more, all took such good care of us!! The beach was beyond perfect, the food was good, the beds were comfortable and entertainment every night. Wow, just wow. What a great trip.

A welcoming atmosphere with a 5 star hotel staff. Service and performance were prompt, courteous, helpful, respectful and friendly. Families members, young and old who were visiting, were laughing and clearly enjoying themselves.

We recently stayed at The Sands Barbados and truly enjoyed our week-long vacation. It’s a quaint, smaller resort with a cozy, family-oriented vibe — a refreshing contrast to the larger, noisier chain hotels. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, yet the resort still made a strong effort to entertain guests, with just enough activity to feel lively without being overwhelming. One of the highlights was the location. The resort is perfectly situated, just steps away from a variety of local dining options, beach bars, and of course, beautiful beaches. The island itself felt very safe — we had no concerns leaving the resort at night to explore the area, which added a nice layer of freedom and comfort to our trip. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-maintained. While the air conditioning was only available in the bedrooms, the rest of the suite remained comfortable throughout our stay. It was a great layout for a family vacation. The food at the resort was generally good, though we would have appreciated a bit more variety in local Bajan cuisine to really get a taste of the island. There are two on-site restaurants. One is casual and accessible daily, while the other is a rooftop fine dining experience — elegant but with some limitations. You can only dine there once per stay, and the dress code is quite strict (no sneakers, sandals, t-shirts; long pants and dress shoes required for men). Unfortunately, we couldn’t attend since the guys in our group didn’t pack dress shoes. Also, children under 12 are not permitted, which is worth noting for families. The beach area at the resort is small, and the water was a bit rough during our stay. We learned this is due to the location, as certain parts of the island have stronger surf. Still, it was nice to have direct beach access and enjoy the views and ocean breeze. All in all, our experience at The Sands was a great one — the stay was easy, relaxing, and memorable. If you're looking for a low-key, charming resort with a touch of local charm and close access to everything you need, this is a great choice.

Lovely hotel with comfortable bed, pillows, and linens. Clean and quiet with two warm pools, a fun little mini golf course, and shuffleboard. The beach area was kept clean. A nice bonus was complimentary icy lemon water at the pool and afternoon coffee and tea with muffins in the afternoon. Super friendly staff! The food was good, but expensive. Walking distance to mini mart, bus, and local bars and restaurants. We look forward to visiting Southern Palms again.

Had a great week at The Sands. Food and drinks were excellent as was the staff. The room was nice and clean and the beach is beautiful. They had a seaweed issue when we were there but did what they could cleaning it off the beach which is no easy task. We would definitely return.

We recently spent a week at the Sugar Cane Resort. We absolutely loved our week at this wonderful place. The food was amazing and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The only downside is the distance from the public beach. There is a shuttle to the beach which is absolutely beautiful. However, there is no shade or chairs to sit. My only suggestion is to have chairs available to guests to bring to the beach.

The hotel was lovely. We had a room overlooking the pools and ocean and waking up every morning viewing such a vista made every cent worthwhile. The white sand and crystal clear water brought out the kid in us. The staff was ever present yet never intrusive. Your wants were always met. A return visit is in the future.

We were at Sandals Barbados but really this resort and Sandals Royal Barbados is 1 big resort. It is a beautiful resort, lots of gardens and flowers. They have a great selection of restaurants, 20 in total. Loved the French restaurant on top of one of the 6 story buildings. It had a great view. Its only 15 min from the airport which is a bonus. We went off resort into Barbados 2x and it is very very safe. The only criticism I have about these 2 Sandals is that it is not in a bay, but rather right on the ocean. When we were there the winds were high, so high that it was red flags in the ocean, and you couldn't really go in safely above your knees. When you laid on the beach you were dealing with sand blowing in your face. Also, while we were there, due to the high winds I suppose, there were absolutely no water activities. the report doesn't even have a pier at it.

We liked the fact that the hotel is not huge like some of the other Carribean resorts. It is clean, classy, the staff is wonderfull and and the food and beverages are good. The rooms are large and ours was renovated in the last few yeras. The location is great too, not far from the airport and close to Bridgetown. The beach is white and cleaned from seaweed when needeed. We were hoping it would be a longer walking beach, but you can't have it all! There were always enought beach chairs. The entertaiment at night is also very good. Sweet Caroline every night!

This was a clean hotel with all of the amenities that we needed and the option to pay for meals on the days that we wanted to stay put. The resort food is decent but a little in the pricey side. Tips are included but you can add more for extra special service of course. Shayne and his beach team were exceptional and made sure to have an umbrella available for my aging momma every day during our two week stay. Recommend grabbing some essential snacks or simple groceries if you’re on a budget and checking out Sage Restaurant nearby if you’re looking for veggie or vegan options.

Staff at the hotel are very friendly. We switched rooms as we didn’t like the first one & were accommodated no problem. The hotel itself is in a great location & room was cleaned daily with new sheets & towels. The room itself could use a bit of a furniture upgrade. The continental breakfast was basic, & was not replenished at times, run that could be improved.

nice location, ran into some issues while staying there. no hot water for several days, toilet not flush, informed the staff, they fixed the problem right away. Asked for a microwave, received in a few minutes. Very pleased with the staff. The only concerns is there should be upkeeping with the building.

It seems as if the resort is woefully understaffed and it shows in their customer service. I know they say no tipping but I don't know where that came from because it is allowed and you may get treated a little nicer if you do. The infinity pool is always packed and the beach had a lot of seaweed for a so called five star. Food was okay. I wouldn't say award winning but ok if you got a reservation. It was more like a 3.5 star dining experience but still okay. Overall and okay time

It would be a plus is a fan was installed instead of a light. No beach on the resort. The receptionist was uninformed and did not answer our questions. She just hung up when we called. Food was goos and service was very good.

Blue Horizon is situated in a central area in Christ Churuch here you get grocery transport eatery and most of all the beach the rooms are very spacious and clean every day the rooms get clean fresh towels the ocean view very nice.The staff very nice. We had breakfast good. Thanks to Blue Horizon Hotel and Tripcentral for making our trip great.Most of all special thanks to Victoria Guest.

Everything was perfect. The chef did provide us with halal meals every meal. It was perfect. Thank you so much for everything. Janet did the booking for us and I want to thank her as well. My wife and I had an excellent time.

Turtle Beach is a beautiful 4 star on the south coast of Barbados. It’s not modern but a classic, classy, Caribbean-style resort with everything you need and more. Rooms are clean, cozy and comfortable. Location is great. Close to many island must-sees. The access to sister resorts on the west coast was a nice touch if you want some variety. Staff were attentive and friendly. Food was excellent but more boutique style with fewer options than large resorts. Quality was exceptional. Steak, Mahi Mahi, ice cream and daily omelette bar were highlights. Reservations are required so plan ahead for your meals and check out the menu of the 3 restaurants posted daily at buffet podium. We stayed in 105 and it had a balcony that opened steps to the beach. Beautiful views of sunset. Has access to use the “Sandals” beach with break wall in case of rough conditions at Maxwell/ Dover beach. All beaches are public. Would 100% recommend. Be sure to leave the resort and explore. Barbados is very safe with beautiful adventures around every corner.

The room lookked fine and as advertised. The a/c could be a little stronger and in the whole suite vs the bedroom only. The kitchen was...not great. There were 2 knives and 1 had a broken handle. The stove had 1 of 4 elements that worked and the knobs on the stove fell off if you barely brushed them with your hand. Dishes were totally fine and appreciated. The bathroom shower had a drain that didn't drain well and water would build up a good inch while taking a shower. It drained eventually. Water was hot. Maid came daily but didn't clean the shower always. Not sure why. Bed was ok but the linen kind of basic (sheets only). I was given a thin blanket when I asked for one. The restaurant provided excellent food and the chef was extremely friendly and gracious. Overall it was an acceptable stay for the price. Great location.

Signature room 30 was not very nice to put it lightly. We were happily moved to room 80 after 3 days and it was wonderful ! The grounds eating area were very nice. It was fantastic eating by the water daily with a gorgeous view of the ocean! The staff were amazing ! The food was excellent.

We will start by saying it was a great trip. The only issue we had was when we got there they told us that we were upgrade to a loft, we didn’t want a loft because the only room with air conditioning was the bedroom and this is why we chose a regular hotel room. They accommodated our request for a regular room which was ready at 5 pm the following day. Once we were able to go up to the room we noticed that the air conditioner was leaking down the wall and we had a puddle of water on the floor. We had to have drama to get that repaired. Then the next day are room didn’t get cleaned until 6pm, we couldn’t even shower for dinner. We ended contacting the Air Canada representative and she actually told me that there wasn’t anything she could do other than contacting the hotel. On the third day we actually started to relax and finally start having some fun. The rooms are in need of upgrades and repair. The food was incredibly amazing, I would give that a 5+ but I would give the room a 2.5 to 3.

This was my first time staying at Southern Palms.I find the staff to be very friendly. The location is awesome, in the heart of St. Lawrence Gap , very lively. The pool and the grounds were well maintained. Happy hour was a hit , two for one drinks . A beautiful resort , would definitely stay there again .

After a very hectic year, we couldn't wait for a week of relaxation in the sun, and we weren't disappointed. This was our first visit to Barbados and we've been to five other Carribean islands over the years. The island is beautiful, the sandy beaches are clean and soft like flour, the ocean water was warm (but usually too rough to swim in or do any water sports). We weren't expecting the wind to be so strong all week or the water to be so rough, but we still enjoyed morning walks along the beach, splashing along in the warm water. This was our first Sandals but not our first adult-only all inclusive in the Carribean. Sandals Barbados is smaller than most mega-resorts, which we really appreciated, and it was easy to walk everywhere and enjoy all the restaurants and amenities between the Royal and Sandals. The food was excellent in each of the 7 restaurants we dined at. If you want quiet, low key nights, stay at the Sandals, but if you want night life and live stage performances and a more party atmosphere, visit the Royal Barbados. Our room was wonderfully quiet, we had an ocean and beach view, and could hear the surf. Our room was a bit 'tired' but it suited us just fine, we only slept and changed there anyway. Overall we had a fantastic week that was just what we needed....lots of sun, reading, met great people and enjoyed great food.

Grounds, rooms, etc. very clean and well looked after. Only downside is since it is right in the center of St. Lawrence Gap, it can be a little noisy at night. Also, accounting not so great as we settled bill day before we left and then got 2 further bills by email and both were different with dollars we owed.

Room is tooooo outdated. Needs renovation. Service is not good. It’s been 10 days, still haven’t received my deposit refund, emailed customer service, never got any response. Nice beach. Food was ok.

The Hotel grounds is beautiful. Nice welcoming entrance. I really enjoyed the self check in, great wi-fi connection, Christmas decorations were amazing as well. The ground washrooms were well maintained and cleaned throughout my stay. If, you are looking for a relaxing vacation with friendly people ,family friendly and a beautiful view of the Caribbean ocean this is it.

The hotel do not have many all- inclusive guests. We were told often that we could not have more food. I don’t even drink alcohol and food was scant. Al la carte we asked for 2 appetizers and they said no. We had to argue at most meal and we are ladies that don’t eat much. Water out in hotel for 2 days for broken water main and staff were not helpful and some down right rude. I would not recommend this place and am working on trying to get some money refunded. A person should never be hungry at all- inclusive. Some of the staff were sympathetic and tryied to get me more food. Towels in room had to be hunted down and laughed at when asking for 2 towels per person. Really??

Overall the resort presented well with good sized rooms and good beds! The size of resort is good but the dining doesn’t meet the 4 or 5 stars rating at all. Main issue was the limited selection of food and lack of variety of places to dine. The resort didn’t have running water at all for 2 and half days, this meant no showers or toilets operating! No solution by the hotel staff! Guests had fill buckets of pool water to use in bathroom toilets.

Staff was very courteous and helpful. Teresa at reception was very helpful and professional. Sheena Shem Analis Tiffany and Omari all made our stay very enjoyable. We were lucky to be there when some turtles hatched and to see nearly 200 of them crawling along the path by Drifter’s near the beach. Unfortunately there was a water main break during our stay and although the staff did what they could it was very inconvenient. No showers or water for flushing the toilet- I ended up using the trash bin to carry water from the pool to flush the toilet. The systems at the hotel could use some tweaking to make things more efficient and easier for the guests. We had to wait for towels and find staff to get them to our room. We ran out of toilet paper the last day and had to use tissues.

Crystal Cove, is a smaller ( 88 rooms), boutique-type resort, which was our first Barbados visit. The staff were wonderful....friendly, efficient, and always willing to assist. During our week, we met several individuals, who became friends, who provided that 'extra' service & who shared suggestions about island sites & activities...always with a wonderful sense of humour ! The food was excellent, at the various locations throughout the resort. The snack bar was always available, for drinks,pasteries or other nibbles, and provided a good location to meet other vacationers, mainly from the UK.Every night had a theme night, with sufficient offerings to meet most tastes ( always burgers & hot dogs at lunch if needed).Reflections provided a wide-ranging menu at night & Drifters was an open-air buffet location. The Cave bar was a very casual spot for pre-dinner drinks. The room we had was quite spacious, clean & cool ( air conditioning kept at 17 degrees. Bed/TV were separate from bathroom area, and the shower water was hot. Maintenance support was very prompt when called upon. Apparently there are plans for 2025 for a major shut-down in order to renovate the facilities , but the existing room was not an issue. The beach was sandy with some coral/rock areas in the water. Swimming was good, and snorkeling was most enjoyable in relatively shallow water. Like most places in the area, the resort was on multi levels above the beach, thus requiring steps to various locations. For those with mobility challenges, it would probably cause a major concern and when slippery, extra caution was necessary. The staff were quite willing to assist with transporting luggage to the rooms throughout the property. Having spent many holidays at resorts in Mexico, particularly Cozumel, we found Crystal Cove an enjoyable change. The snorkeling sites were different, the water slightly warmer, and communications with staff very straightforward. We would not hesitate returning to Crystal Cove.

This hotel is dated, which is the only neutral thing I have to say about it. The staff, from the front desk, to the waiters/waitresses, bartenders and everyone else there are amazing! The rooms and surrounding areas were always clean. You would be hard pressed to find better food at a 5 star hotel. It was fantastic! Desiree, you rock!!

Spending time at a resort is always a great way to unwind and relax, but sometimes it can be hard to find the perfect one. That's why I was so excited to visit a resort that met all our needs: a beautiful beach, great service, and so much more! Upon arrival at Bougainvillea, we were greeted by the friendly staff, and after a quick check-in, we were escorted to our room. Stepping out onto our veranda, we were presented with stunning views of the resort grounds and the beach. The crystal-clear blue water and powdery sand were truly breathtaking, and I couldn't wait to dive right in. But what really made my experience at the resort so wonderful was the fantastic service. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, attentive, and eager to help. Whether I needed a recommendation for a local restaurant or a fresh towel for the beach, they were always happy to assist. Overall, my time at the resort was truly unforgettable. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway. With its beautiful beaches, great service, and countless amenities, there's truly something for everyone to enjoy!

The Sands is a small resort, with easy access to everything, including the beach. The beach is nice soft sand and allows for about 3 lounges deep. The beach was not long and in order to get a good beach walk you had to enter the ocean and swim to get past some coral then emerge back onto the beach. Not an issue for us, but could be for elderly or people with young children. The food was top notch for an all-inclusive. Most days were a la carte with only a breakfast and a couple lunch & dinners as buffet throughout the week. Only complaint on the dining, and this is really a personal complaint. You had to schedule/book lunch & dinner. I live my life by the clock at home and when on vacation would prefer to do what I want when I want. I understand their reasoning, it's a small resort with limited space and so planning makes it easier, but this was a negative for me. During our stay, Barbados was amidst a heat wave. Air conditioning is only available in the bedroom throughout the whole resort while it worked great there, it was a bit uncomfortable some days while eating. Drinks were great! Again the best I've had at an all-inclusive. Staff was always happy, friendly and smiling with the exception of the beach/pool water sports crew. Lots to explore outside of the resort and felt relatively safe while doing so. Common sense will take you a long way!

Great location! Great people and food! Always trying to make your stay better. Helpful with information on how to get around to sightseeing areas. Very safe! From the front desk to the restaurant….. staff always helpful. Visited Barbados 39 years ago and although much has changed, still a beautiful, welcoming place.

Staff was excellent. Very friendly and extremely helpful. Food and drinks were great. White sand beach, warm clear water. Location is central, very convenient. Smaller hotel- which we liked. We had a ground floor room with patio with view of pool area and could see ocean. Room was large with fridge and small kitchenette. Bathroom was very small- would be difficult to maneuver for larger people. Overall had a great stay at this hotel and felt we got excellent vacation for price we paid.

My fiance and I spent 4 nights at the resort and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was clean, comfortable and the food and service was good. The staff were especially friendly, always smiling and always accommodating. Beach was clean and water was beautiful.

The whole resort was disappointing. The rooms are rundown and in the particular the washrooms are disgusting. The food was not great. When they had a buffet it was especially bad. The breakfasts were OK, but the rest of the food was not good. It was a boring vacation. No entertainment. It was very expensive. We paid twice as much as at any other resort we have been to such as a Riu or Grand Bahai resort. Also there are added charges when you get to the resort. I would never return to this resort.

We stayed at the Royal Barbados for 7 days in mid August 2023. The Royal resort is right next to Sandals Barbados so in fact two resorts in one, that was fabulous given so many restaurants to go and try, and every one of them are gourmet like (Indian one is the BEST). The morning breakfast buffet is yum yum yum!!!! We found the beach to be stunning, just the right mix of open beach for full sun exposure, and palm trees for some needed shade. The main Royal pool was incredible and the daily entertainment & team;top notch (so much fun). The rooms at the Royal are very comfortable (although there are no free munchies in the room, have to buy them, other chains like RIU & Secrets do have munchies), the shower is heavenly and king size bed so so comfortable. The service by the Sandals staff is top notch, very friendly and will go out of their way to service your every wish, a smile every day, they are the main reason why this Sandals is a 5 star resort. The Royal also has a bowling ally which is super cool and great to use if it rains during the day. I loved that there were two gyms, which have updated equipment and not too busy, and a place called Heart & Soul for smoothies, small snacks or healthy lunches. There are areas where Royal Sandals can improve so that to ensure it maintains their 5 star rating (and I will say they are 5 stars no doubts): 1) Towels at the pool are not always available, ugh!! 2) not all restaurants take reservations which means a potential 30 min wait time, 3) Being a "Club" Member, I didn't feel that I was a "club member" for the extra cost, the Secrets Resorts have "preferred" which you can buy and they ensure you always have towels, get preferred access to restaurants, and their check in process is better than Royal Sandals 4) Royal has a donut shop - we went there three times (at different times during the day) and the donuts were not that fresh 5) Royal Beach House Shop - the wait times are excessive to buy just munchies, and 6) the nightly entertainment is no where as good as RIU and Secrets, both of them have Cirque du Soleil type of entertainment versus just singing at the Royal, it should be noted that the White Party / silent party at the Royal was awesome on Wednesday nights. Overall though, we had a great trip and feel relaxed. Trip Central was awesome to work with and are 1000% better than using Air Canada Vacations.

Overall lovely stay. The service was a bit slow at some restaurants. Our room wasn’t cleaned one day. And we were disappointed that they forgot about our anniversary, on arrival they assured us they would do something special.

-Great and friendly staff who smile and accommodate guests! -good food selection, even for vegetarians! -good selection of drinks but no monitor (it was low season) -crabs and lots of snails on the beach (nothing anyone can do about it) -artifical beach where sun chairs are -very tiny beach area -vendors on beach were annoying -good resort area with shops in walking distance -no 24-hour snacks nor drinks -room service costs $15/use -the resort shop was useless (they barely opened and when they were, very limited selection) -cockroaches seen on first floor -very quiet (not for parties) but it was during low season (July) -the night entertainment was just okay and ended before midnight -the front desk did not have American cash for change (I needed it for tips) -we were greeted very well with an offer for drinks -the ocean view was amazing but since the resort was empty, not sure why I couldn't get a proper balcony -I had requested 2 beds but got 1 king. Had to get a room change -No elevator on resort but 3 floors, so not good for people with disability issues -only 1 main restaurabt available -security guard but seen here and there -no life guard on site -slippery rocks when walking down steps to beach -great trampoline in the ocean! Need one more! -one vendor sat right in front of me at the beach and clipped his nails -another vendor kept bothering me to buy excursions from him (rude passive-aggressive behaviour) -great towel service! -washroom downstairs was like an ice-box! -washroom was located right at the stage; so very awkward to go use bathroom when there were performances Great excursions and service from Air Canada rep!

This is the second Sandals resort I have been to and have to say that I did have a lovely vacation. However, the service was very hit and miss. Some really excellent staff to some not so excellent staff. Room service is available however expect to wait at least 2 hours. Bartenders mix drinks completely differently from one bar to another or one restaurant to another. Our rooms TV didn't work very well. A la carte restaurants very good, buffets ok. Entertainment also hit and miss. Same three singers each night. Often pool activities didn't happen at all. Again hit and miss.

We recently returned from the sands hotel. I had read reviews so I was a little concerned at first. Upon arrival the resort was small in comparison to resorts we had stayed at in the past. We were pleasantly surprised how much we enjoyed the small resort. It felt like we were one big family during our stay. The resort was very clean and the grounds were kept well maintained. We had no complaints on the food there was a good selection. There was always chairs at the beach for us. My girls are 18 and 22 and they enjoyed themselves even though most guests were older. If you are looking for a huge party atmosphere this isn’t your place but if you want to relax and reconnect as a couple or family this is your resort. There was a grocery store right in front of the hotel if you needed anything extra and a pharmacy a few minutes walk away. You could jump on the bus and go visit a different beach for a couple of hours or just stay at the resort. I felt very safe here and my girls weren’t bothered by any locals. Overall a great holiday. It was a small resort, all inclusive meals and drinks. Friendly. Courteous and helpful staff - always checking to ensure stay was comfortable. Our room was on 3rd floor, apartment like, with a small kitchenette, dining and living room on one floor, stairs lead to a bedroom with one queen bed and full bathroom - which was only room with air conditioning. Room overlooked back alleyway, no pool/garden view as listed. Offered choices for meals, lunch and dinner alternated from menu to buffet; breakfast was buffet style with option to order omelettes. Beach was clean, provided lounge chairs, umbrellas and towels. Overall was a very nice unit.

Amazing staff, service was fantastic from every one of them. Food was was very tasty and nicely presented. Beach was awesome and the resorts sunbed policy was so appreciated No getting up at the crack of dawn to reserve. Rooms are lovely and well appointed. The only complaint that I have is that in the suites with a separate bedroom, only the bedroom is air conditioned. That made the main living area unbearably hot, especially for those rooms that face south or west and there is no t.v. in the bedroom.

After reading mixed reviews , I was not sure what to expect. Travelled with a group of 8, 3 children ages 3, 7 and 9. I have travelled to many islands including, St. Lucia, Aruba, Antigua, Bahamas, Mexico, Dominican, and I have to say that these people were the friendlist and nicest people ever. The hotel is small , however the food, weather, staff, rooms, entertainment , the men selling excursions on the beach all outstanding. The other guests staying at this resort so friendly. My daughter did the water skiing, my friends did the hobby cats and loved it. The free catermeran boat ride included stopped at the house where Simon Cowell stays and we swam there. we went to the Karaoke bar the night we arrived... amazing. Everything in walking distance. I can not say enough great things about this resort.

Very nice hotel with a few restaurants boutiques your private beach and could easily see the port from our balcony bedroom. We got to enjoy the beach and one of their restaurants. The rooms were very comfortable and very large. We had a bathtub and a shower and still lots of room to maneuver.

visited feb 19-26; 2023 SITE. Beautiful site, every room faces the beach! Beach has lots of loungers and shade available. very rough waters when we visited , but stone break made it possible to swim . Small children need to b closely watched. FOOD was very disappointing . omelet ladies were great in the morning . FRESH FRUIT limited not available; canned peaches and pears, soggy papaya, and no bananas after 2nd day. 2 of us are peschatarian , but could not find suitable sources of protein ; no greek yogurt, beans (or bean salad) or tofu sources available. FISH was gross! If the days we were there, marlin was the only ine available. Grey, dry texture of sand and wood glue!!! We visited the Friday fish market on Friday, Ostens, great selection of fish . which says that fish is available, but selection not made available to guests, STAFF Not sure what was going on with hotel staff, but the 6 of us visiting , found that the Staff in main restaurant and Sand Trap not friendly, not attentive, and did not make eye contact . Think the Mariot chain needs to shake up this hotel . our group is between 35 and 69 years old

Everything about this hotel was amazing. The staff, the food, the amenities, even the other guests! We had the best holiday ever. The island is so beautiful. The nightlife is great for reggae dancing.

Older hotel that has been renovated. Some of the room renovations are not great. However, the facilities are kept super clean, and the staff very efficient and friendly. The beach is amazing. I would recommend it to others not expecting 5 start facilities.

Accra Beach is a perfect location! The hotel was clean and the staff was amazing. Close to Blakey’s, Tapas, and walking distance to St. Lawrence Gap. Convenience of a strip mall with everything you may need right across the street. From groceries, take out to souvenirs. You can also find authentic foods too. The hotel has 2 restaurants and is located on the beautiful Rockley Beach. Barbados is as beautiful as I remember. We will definitely stay here again when we come again with the family. A couple of suggestions, it would be nice to play island music for your guests at the pool bar/beach. Quiet is nice but not much music all week. Night life is definitely off resort. Second, put a complimentary bottle of rum and a couple bottles of water in room for guests that would be a nice touch. Fridge is not stocked. Last thing I would add, develop a system where you have a coloured band for all inclusive guests versus asking them their room number single time they eat and drink. It’s very confusing for those who are all inclusive. Other than that, the hotel and staff were amazing!

Great features, great staff mostly, although signs of " quiet quitters" among the younger staff members. Many of the older staff that remain after mass lay-offs due to Covid are very customer oriented but a lot of the younger staff have less fire in their eyes compared to previous visits pre Covid. No Air Canada Vacations rep on site, also no other Airline reps for assistance or dialogue for clients. Of particular irritation is the lack of enforcement of dress code in the restaurants that call for it. WE get dressed up for a nice dinner ( following the rules of the resort ) and then sit next to some slob, wearing a baseball cap sideways or backward, and in swim shorts. Either you have a rule and enforce it or discontinue the rule. WE lost a lot of respect for the Sandals brand this trip, and will probably pay far less to stay at a competitor brand next trip. Small touches like turndown service, pillow chocolates, towel sculpture, shower caps, vanity kits etc absent. This is no longer a 5 star resort in our opinion or our checkbook

The last time I was in Barbados was back in 2001. I have to say the only reason we stayed at the Accra was because of Rockly beach. It is the best beach I have been to in Barbados. The water is always warm and very clean. The waves can get pretty large at times but they are tons of fun to boogie board with or jump over. It was our first time staying at the Accra hotel. I have visited this hotel many years ago but never stayed there. My boyfriend and I travelled with my sister, her husband and their 2 children 6 and 9. We all paid for the all inclusive package. We had no issues at the airport and had airport transportation to the Accra included. On arrival to the Accra we were not greeted or welcomed like at other destinations or resorts we have travelled to. We checked in and had to pay the daily hotel tax fee right away. About $10 Barbados per day...on our tickets it said it would be paid on check out and I mentioned this to the lady at the desk but she insisted it had to be paid on check in...so we paid it. They gave us the blue band that was suppose to be for the all inclusive package. After we were told we needed the red band so got them exchanged. We went to our room 226. At first the door cards did not work so I went back down to the front desk and they activated them...The view of the room is of the Quayside plaza. The room was basic. Had a small fridge that was empty. King size bed, working shower and toilet and enough space for our clothes. Sometimes the water pressure from the shower would be very weak but it was usualy around 5pm to 6pm when most people are showering and getting ready for dinner. The cleaning crew always did an amazing job cleaning our room. There was only 1 day they missed. There was the 1 main restaurant called the Coco patch. It had breakfast buffet each morning. Breakfast was suppose to be at 7am but sometimes they would not be ready and kick us out....there would be some lunches and some dinners at this restaurant also. Sometimes the other reastaurant called the Pacifika would be opened instead. The food was pretty good. A lot of variety for meats, fish and rice. I found the vegetables were a bit lacking or the same. There was a list of menus for each day. We found that sometimes the meals would be buffet but then it would be an la carte. Or it would say a la carte and it would be buffet. So the consistancy was not there like most things in this hotel. The a la cartes would take 2 hours some nights. But the food was always delicious. Dinners were usualy from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. We found it odd that there was an a la carte at lunch. I rather be outside and be enjoying the weather then be sitting inside at an a la carte. So we only did that the 1 time. There was a bar menu that you could order off of for lunch that had snack foods like fries, burgers and sandwiches and it would be delivered to you on the beach. It would take about 30mins to an hour to ge the food at times and sometimes they would take orders at 12pm and sometimes 12:30pm...I went to order food at 12:25pm and it was too early that day.....ordering drinks was interesting..depending which bartender was working. They would ask our room number each time we would order drinks even having the red all inclusive bands on. We had a list of drinks that were for all inclusive. So we went down the list like usual. There was pop, juice and large or small bottled water you could order also. They had different beers and blended non alcholic drinks and milkshakes for the kids. Some drinks were strong and some made just right...depending on the bar tender. After 5 days of ordering a blended fruit drink and asked for malibu rum...1 bartender told me it was at an extra charge.....I was shocked because I have ordered this drink before many times and no one else had said anything to me. So I just ordered another mixed drink called the coconut kiss which has malibu rum in it. The espresso is also at an extra charge even with all inclusive. $7 usd....🤦‍♀️ so another inconsistant thing that we noticed. There was no entertainment in the evenings so it was kinda boring at the hotel at night. There was only 1 night they had a live band which was great! Its too bad they don't have more entertainment weekly. Walking around at night was safe. My boyfriend and I did a few times and had no issues. We got ice cream from Chilly Moos from across the street. It was alright nothing special..$8.50 Barbados for 1 scoop. We walked to Masseys one night which is 15mins away. Bought some groceries and souveniers. The 99 grocerery store in the Quayside plaza had essentials also. The best of Barbados store is a great store for souveniers. The surf shop sells boogie boards and clothing at duty free prices. There are a lot of food options also for people who arn't doing the all inclusive package. There is a breakfast place, pizza, indian, chinese and delicious doubles. 2 doubles for $9 barbados. They were amazing!! There is a Chefette, KFC and Burger King down the other way. A lot of restaurants and bars so there are a lot of options. We went on 1 excursion with Tiami excursions. I spoke to Rachel at the front desk. She was the most knowledgable person. She knows her info and booked us the snorkelling with turtle excursion. We went on the sunset excursion time. We were picked up at 2:30pm. We went on a small catamaran and we sailed to the turtle area. Our guide was feeding the turtles bread so we all got to see them. I just loved it. Such an amazing experience!! They served us drinks and we had dinner during sunset on the catamaran. The excursion was about $100 usd. It was great to be back in Barbados esp for Rockly beach. If we were to travel to Barbados again we would probably not do the all inclusive package and would stay at a different hotel.

Here is a breakdown of what our holiday was in Sandals Barbados It started when West Jet ( we were in Premium) rand out of hot breakfast. All they had was fruit. We had to wait for our luggage for 1 hours at the Barbados airport – our bags were tagged premium – should have come off first. Got to the hotel and they gave us a room at the back of the hotel by the stage. We booked Oceanview and there was none. We even asked the club level person to see if he could see the ocean and he could not. We asked about why no Oceanview and they said they were full. They we not. That night we could not sleep do to the music on the stage right by our room. Next day we complained and the supervisor told us they could give us a room in the other Sandals, not the royal, but it would be with a butler and would cost us 3100.00 USD more. We finally settled on 2200.00 uSD. – Still this is wrong. We also wasted 3 days complaining. Butlers were useless, we got our own chairs by the pool each morning. The swim up pool was closed due to water and then one day the whole pool bar was closed due to electrical problems. This meant you had to go and get your own drinks at another bar . When you were in the pool by the swim up bar there was an awful smell of sewage. First restaurant we went to , recommended by the butler was schooners. When we got there at 6:30 we were seated and there were only 2 others couples in the restaurant. We ordered in about 10 minutes. We received our appetizers in amount 15 minutes, then we waiting for 1 hour and still not food, other people came in and got there food before us. Finally called the butler as no one in the restaurant would give us an answer, all employees did was roll their eyes at you as if you were a burden to them. 1 ½ hours later our food came just as the butler came to the restaurant , food was cold, even got the butler to feel it. We went to bed with no food. Next restaurant was Bombay , my husband had a beer in a glass that broken in his hand and mashed all over the table and myself. Glass was all on the table, we used our napkins and the table next to us gave us their napkins to clean up the beer. No employee came to help us. They just brought us our dinner and placed it on the table on top of the glass. We complained for 4 days and finally Barbara ( Manager of Customer Services) said she would credit us the 2200.00 USD for all the problem when had. I believe this is still unacceptable for a sandals resort. We paid 10 thousand for one week of hell. Please reach our to west jet and sandals and explain all of this . This was the vacation from hell and you know we have been places before that were great and cost less money. Also the extra we paid for the lounge at the Barbados airport – All they had was cookies, chips, and sandwiches that had the smallest tuna on the bread you have every seen. This was a waste of money too. Joanne

We have stayed in a lot of resorts over the years, this is definitely one of the best. Great people, fantastic food, beautiful beach, easy swimming, fish and turtles for snorkeling. Couldn’t ask for much more!

We visited sandals Royal Barbados for our honeymoon from Nov, 22-29. From start to finish the trip was unbelievable… we didn’t want to leave. Everyone that works at this resort goes ABOVE AND BEYOND to make you feel like welcome and happy. The food was incredible, there is nothing we ate during the 7 days that we didn’t enjoy. The resort was HUGE, very well maintained, luxurious no matter what type of room or area you were in. This was worth every single dollar we spent. The beach was beautiful, warm water, no seaweed while we were there. We are obsessed with Sandals resorts now and can’t wait to book another vacation. I don’t know how anyone could visit sandals Barbados and not have the time of there life.

Hotel generally was clean but small. The check in process is basically a “self check in” one where you have to enter info on your phone. Resort is smaller with one main restaurant/buffet with a 2nd more fine dining open 3 nights a we week. Food was good for the most part but the level service definitely needs to improve. It felt like there was no service manager oversight.

The sugar cane hotel and spa is a lovely, small resort located on the west (best) part of the island. The resort itself is small but well equipped. The rooms are large and tasteful. The food was spectacular. Delicious made to order meals and deserts. The beach is a 5 minute shuttle away and has an amazing coral reef for snorkeling. For anyone looking for a quiet getaway, I would highly recommend the sugar cane.

We stayed as a group of 16 at Sandals Barbados from Nov 8-15th 2022. The resort has beautiful grounds, rooms, pools, and restaurants and it was a bonus to have access to the Royal side for food, activities and amenities. Restaurant booking was not efficient or easy to do, however we did secure group reservations by the end of our week at most of the restaurants and very much enjoyed. We also enjoyed a morning of snorkelling which is offered complimentary by Sandals- such a lovely experience to snorkel over shipwrecks! Only complaints would be service at the beach and pool bars as it was hit or miss and tree maintenance which was being done through the day at the busiest time on the beach. Maybe this could be done at an alternate time which would be less disturbing to guests. Overall we had a great week on this beautiful island. Would highly recommend!

An intimate 24 room inn, minutes away from Pebbles Beach. Nice to talk with people and not listen to noise and loud music. Meals were tasty and nicely presented, half were buffet style. Rooms were a bit older, but spacious. Staff were friendly. Great not to have to walk far to get anywhere. Highlight of the trip were the horses swimming at the beach. Covid wise, some staff wore masks, but restrictions had been lifted when we were there.

Very well received by the reception desk on arrival. The staff was very courteous, friendly and always open to assist Food and drinks were plenty The beach front needed to be upgraded by removing the stones, rocks and making it sandy The suite we were assigned in the main building where the reception office was close to the road. The traffic noise level was insane even late at night making it difficult to sleep. We addressed this to the officer who was in charge of the resort and reception desk was not receptive to changing our rooms closer to the beach view or poolside that was away from the road. Also these rooms were empty - capacity of the resort may be 40-50% due to off season.

The hotel and grounds were beautiful. The food was very good. Fifty percent of the staff was very friendly and helpful, the other fifty percent were miserable. Service level was terrible. Room was not cleaned until after 5 pm more than half the time. There is no poolside or beachside drink service and it takes up to 1/2 an hour at the bar to be served during the day. Despite a no tipping policy, it was happening all the time so that those people would receive service over others. Dinner reservations are impossible to get even a week out before 8pm. Compared to other all inclusive resorts the service and availability of restaurants was terrible. Not sold at all on the Sandals hype and will not be doing another one.

Great stay. Surroundings, beach, pool, St Lawrence gap next door. Commodities nearby. Staff at hotel, bar and restaurant very kind and great service. Would go back anytime. Gourmet restaurant a must try for all visitors

We paid for the 1 bedroom garden suite because we wanted to put the infant crib in the living area for uninterrupted naps/sleep, none were available so they "upgraded" us to a 2 bedroom suite which was not kid-friendly as there were very steep stairs. They locked the 2nd bedroom, stating we would have to pay to have it unlocked. I informed the CS rep we paid for a 1 bedroom suite as the floorplan was listed online and we knew that we could safely place the crib in the living room area. We couldn't leave the crib on the ground floor of this 2-bedroom suite. After explaining this the CS rep still insisted we will have to pay to unlock the 2nd bedroom. The CS rep then said "in Barbados kids usually sleep in the same room as the parents"... excuse me, what does this have to do we me being a paying customer at The Sands!?! After insisting that we either need the 2nd room unlocked or put us in a 1 bedroom suite that we paid for one suddenly became available but needed to be cleaned. Note, the a/c is only in the bedroom and the rest of the suite gets very hot unless you turn the a/c fan speed up and the temperature down. Review of the room: *The bedroom was clean, the a/c worked well and the bed was comfortable * It was a struggle to get clean linens, especially towels. We needed to call room service multiple times and usually, they never brought what we asked for. Ask for two washcloths and get one. * The kitchen area was dirty for 4 of the 7 days we were there and a sewage smell developed. This was only resolved after we met the on-call manager who asked us how was our stay. I told her to go check our room right away. * Toiletries were never replenished unless we asked *** Summary housekeeping was poor and needed better training**** Review of the main restaurant * The food was excellent and had an adequate variety * The food was NEVER ready when the restaurant opened! Traveling with an infant meals and sleep times are very important and our daughter was never able to have to sit down for dinner at the restaurant because the opening time was stated at 6 PM but the food wasn't ready (even on nights where it was a buffet) until 6:45 PM. Being late once is acceptable, but being consistently late is not. * the bar opens at 10 AM so no mimosas for breakfast. * The staff spent more time standing around chatting and on their cellphones and it usually required us to wave them down for simple things like a water refill * The bar staff was excellent and ran an efficient operation Review of the grounds * The pool was excellent, well maintained, clean, and adequate seating was provided * The sea was beautiful and at the mercy of mother nature In summary, this hotel charges like a 5 star yet despite being on the newer side, operates like a 3.5 star. The staff is in need of a customer service training refresher, especially the check-in, housekeeping, and wait staff at the restaurant. Better time management is required. If you provide three meals a day and state that you are open from X-Y then be ready to serve and X time

The resort is well maintained and clean. Food was better than expected. Staff is wonderful and very helpful. Noir was okay. Beach is not maintained enough. Beaches south coast, off the resort were better for swimming. Thank you Isabel for your assistance when I had medical concerns. This resort is a solid 3-3.5 star. This resort is not a party resort, mostly mature crowd. Masks are strongly encouraged but really not enforced. Watch out for the rum punch! Lol

It was a typical Sandals Resort - this was our 4th. Airport transfer was quick & efficient.We did not have butler service as we find them intrusive. Club Level was perfect. Room was modern, clean, spacious and well appointed. The grounds were very well maintained daily and were lush and in full bloom. Beautifully lit up in the evening. Variety of pools for different interests eg. quiet vs full of activites. Beach was disappointing - not very long and full of reserved cabanas. Unfortunately seaweed was a problem but out of the resort's control.Restaurants & food were very good. Our favourite was Chi. Several employees were outstanding but most seemed disinterested in service or a smile.Nightly entertainment was so-so. Some cute amenities as Sweet & Salty Donut Shop and Cafe de Paris.
