Getting Around: Scotland has four main airports: Glasgow, Glasgow Prestwick, Edinburgh, and Aberdeen. From the airport, you can travel by car, train, coach or ferry. If you opt to rent a car, be wary of livestock since many of the roads are unfenced. To rent a car, you must present your passport and driver’s license along with your deposit. No special British or international license will be required. To save on cost, consider taking the bus. All major towns have a local bus service. You can ask them about half or full-day bus excursions.

The Land that Inspired Outlander Self-Guided: Dump
I wouldn’t use air Canada vacations again. The cairn hotel was a complete dump, you think when you book a driving vacation the hotel would have parking. It did not. The room sucked and shower wouldn’t drain, the breakfast was not edible. Only 2 of the hotels were ok, the rest were substandard. Good ones were the loch kinard, with fabulous food. The second was the muthu hotel , nice. All the rest were terrible. And the coordination of the tour left us over an hour from the airport with a fairley early time we had to be at the airport. 6 am, when I asked to change the last hotel for an airport hotel I was told no the package is the package. Scotland is great, but I wouldn’t use air Canada vacations again.

Glasgow Your Way 3*: How do you say Ibis?
Our Ibis hotel was staffed by enthusiastic, helpful and friendly people. The food was good but not noteworthy. Our room was small and basically functional but missing storage for more than a short stay or security for documents or valuables. It was very clean and cleaned thoroughly daily. It was better than a 3 star but not a 4.
