About Budapest Tours

Budapest, the lovely capital of Hungary, was born in 1873. The two parts of the city, “Buda” and “Pest,” are divided by the Danube River and each have fascinating stories.  By embarking on a Budapest River Cruise, you will be able to experience the history of this brilliant city and those surrounding it.  Budapest is known for its intricate caves, baroque churches, and thermal springs that have earned it the name, ‘City of Spas.’ There are also many festivals that take place here, including wine, beer, and folk festivals.

The ancient town, Buda Castle District, is a World Heritage Site packed with historical monuments, museums, and a range of cafes. It is the oldest part of the city, established during Medieval Times.  Because of its charming streets, it has become a popular venue for romantic strolls. On the other hand, the Chain Bridge offers a breathtaking view of the Danube River.  It is the oldest bridge in the city, created in 1849, one of eight bridges in Budapest.  Also in the Castle District is the 700 year old Mathias Church, Music History Museum, and Ruszwurm Confectionery, a pastry shop since 1827!  The “Pest” side of the city is more modern.  It features 19th century mansions, the National Opera House, Parliament Building, and Heroes’ Square, a popular tourist site filled with monuments and museums.
