About China Tours

Discover the majesty of the East on one of our China River Cruises.  Begin your adventure in Beijing or Shanghai and cruise through some of China’s other distinctive lands.

Visit the Tiananmen Square in Beijing that was made to accommodate 1,000,000 people, and explore the Forbidden City that was the imperial palace for emperors.  The 700-acre Summer Palace complex was built in 1420 and houses pavilions and beautiful gardens that were restricted to visitors during the Ming and Qing dynasties.  In Shanghai, walk along The Great Wall of China, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and experience the financial district and modern metropolis in China’s largest city.  In Old Shanghai, take a walk along the riverfront and appreciate the old buildings, and visit the Shanghai Museum to see ancient artifacts.

Xian’s archeological features will entice you.  The tomb of China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang, and the mausoleum of terracotta warriors can be found here. Sail through the Three Gorges, a region in Yangtze, and witness 150 miles of spectacular limestone cliffs.  Board smaller boats to sail through the narrow Qutang Gorge and see the awe-inspiring engineering project, the “Three Gorges Dam,” which was completed in 2008 and is the largest of its kind. Experience local restaurants, traditional song and dance and Chinese theatre. You may have the opportunity to participate in a noodle-making demonstration, Chinese calligraphy class, Tai Chi session, or visit a silk factory, depending on your itinerary.
