- Day 3 Edinburgh Start the day with a panoramic and walking tour of old and new Edinburgh, exploring Georgian architecture, writers and monuments, alleyways and hidden passages, and the dark and mysterious side of the city. Then, walk up the Royal Mile to enter Edinburgh Castle, home to the Scottish Crown Jewels. After a guided tour of the castle grounds, enjoy time to explore the city as you wish this afternoon and evening. Perhaps you will choose to join an optional night of Scottish food, song, and dance.
- Day 4 Edinburgh - York, England Say goodbye to the rolling hills of Scotland while traveling south on a local passenger train to York. After you arrive, join a walk to get familiar with York’s streets before taking some free time to enjoy lunch on your own. After an afternoon visit to the magnificent York Minster, enjoy free time to explore York at your own pace before retreating to the tranquil countryside for an overnight stay in a charming castle setting.
- Day 5 York - Chester - Pulford, Chester This morning, travel to Chester, your home for the next two nights, where ancient walls enclose charming Tudor and Victorian houses. Discover the charms of the city with your Tour Manager before taking some time for lunch. This afternoon, it's your choice! Enjoy a guided tour of the magnificent Chester Cathedral -OR- take a leisurely boat ride along the tranquil River Dee. After, check in to a tranquil countryside retreat steeped in history.
- Day 6 Pulford, Chester-Conwy, Wales-Llangollen-Pulford Chester, England Today, venture to the inviting town of Conwy in Wales. Visit Conwy Castle to discover the history behind one of Edward I’s most imposing castles. Afterward, take a scenic drive to the picturesque town of Corwen to board a heritage railway for a nostalgic journey through North Wales to Llangollen. Then enjoy free time for lunch in the picturesque village of Llangollen and perhaps stand on the bridge to watch the fast-flowing waters beneath and take in the hustle and bustle of this charming, popular town.
- Day 7 Pulford, Chester - Stratford-Upon-Avon Step back in time on a journey through the English countryside to Stratford-upon-Avon — the Bard’s birthplace. Join your Tour Manager for a walk through the town’s busy streets and then sit down to a traditional English afternoon tea. Tour the childhood home of William Shakespeare, and take time to explore this historic market town on your own.
- Day 8 Stratford-Upon-Avon - London Bid farewell to Stratford and travel to the esteemed capital - London. Upon arriving in the bustling Covent Garden area, take some time and have lunch on your own. Then, join a local guide for a three-hour walking tour, taking in the iconic landmarks of Westminster from the outside, including Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, and Buckingham Palace. Later, settle in at your hotel and spend the evening in the city as you wish.
- Day 9 London Take in London your way today with a full day at leisure. Or, you may wish to join an optional tour to Windsor Castle, the majestic residence that has been the home of British royalty for centuries, offering a glimpse into the lives of monarchs past and present.
