  • Day 1 HALIFAX   Welcome to Halifax! Your Tour Director is on hand from 3-6:00 p.m. this afternoon in the lobby to answer any questions.

Upon arrival enjoy some time at leisure to relax or explore on your own. Perhaps take a walk along the Waterfront, one of the world's longest urban boardwalks spanning 4 km/2.5 miles, where you'll find many shops and restaurants.

  • Day 2 HALIFAX-HOPEWELL ROCKS-SAINT JOHN   Depart Halifax for Hopewell Rocks located along the shores of the Bay of Fundy, home of the highest tides in the world, which rise and fall up to 52 feet each day. See the distinctive sandstone sea stack formations there, known as flowerpots, which range from 40-70 feet tall and are a result of tidal erosion over millions of years. Then take in the scenery of Fundy National Park before traveling to Saint John for a two-night stay.

  • Day 3 SAINT JOHN. EXCURSION TO ST. ANDREWS BY-THE-SEA   Travel south and take an orientation tour of the charming seaside resort of St. Andrews-by-the-Sea. Have free time to explore the historic downtown with its quaint shops and Market Square or visit Kingsbrae Gardens, named one of Canada's Top Ten Public Gardens. Or take home a whale of a tale on an optional whale-watching and wildlife cruise! On the return to Saint John, stop at the Saint John River to see Reversing Falls, a natural tidal phenomenon. (B)

  • Day 4 SAINT JOHN-CHARLOTTETOWN   Before leaving Saint John, visit the quaint and historic Saint John City Market, the oldest farmer's market in Canada dating back to the 1870's. Then depart New Brunswick, driving across the 8-mile-long Confederation Bridge, Canada's longest bridge, to Charlottetown, the capital of Prince Edward Island. Tonight is at leisure. Perhaps don a bib and pass the butter at a delicious optional lobster supper! (B)

  • Day 5 CHARLOTTETOWN   Tour the island with a Local Guide and see sandy beaches and wind-swept dunes at Prince Edward Island National Park. Stop at the seaside port of North Rustico to learn about the island's famous lobster industry and visit Green Gables Heritage Place, setting for the Anne of Green Gables novels Enjoy free time this afternoon to explore this charming city and its scenic waterfront. (B)

  • Day 6 CHARLOTTETOWN-BADDECK   Board a ferry and cross Northumberland Strait for Nova Scotia. Arrive in Baddeck, Gateway to the Cabot Trail, on the shores of Bras d'Or Lake. Visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site to see exhibits tracing the great achievements of the inventor of the telephone and so much more. This evening, perhaps stroll into town for a relaxing dinner by the lake. (B)

  • Day 7 BADDECK. EXCURSION TO CAPE BRETON HIGHLANDS NATIONAL PARK & CABOT TRAIL   Journey on the world-famous Cabot Trail, a spectacular scenic highway with panoramic views of rugged cliffs, deep valleys, forested slopes, and the North Atlantic and Gulf of St. Lawrence. • Day 8 BADDECK-HALIFAX   Depart Baddeck and return to Halifax. Take a city tour with highlights that include the Public Gardens, Canadian Forces Base, the country's largest military base and home of the Royal Canadian Navy Atlantic Fleet, and Fairview Lawn Cemetery, final resting place for over one hundred victims of the Titanic. This evening, have time to explore the many restaurants and shops along the boardwalk on the Halifax Waterfront. (CB)
