  • Day 1 ARRIVE IN BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS   Welcome to Beantown! At 6 pm, meet your traveling companions for a welcome drink. Your Tour Director will prepare you for your upcoming adventure.

  • Day 2 BOSTON-PORTLAND, MAINE-BAR HARBOR   Sea Treasure Head north through New Hampshire and into Maine for Portland, one of New England's most famous cities. Stroll down the cobblestone streets of Portland's Old Port Exchange, lined with boutiques, coffee houses, and art galleries. Continue to Bar Harbor, on Mount Desert Island, Maine's oldest summer resort. Enjoy the tastes of Maine for dinner tonight with a traditional [LF] lobster bake. (B,D)

    LOCAL TASTES Savor the culinary traditions of the Atlantic seaports with a lobster-bake dinner in historic Bar Harbor, featuring Maine lobster (or chicken, or steak), potatoes, and fresh corn-on-the-cob. Delicious!

  • Day 3 BAR HARBOR. EXCURSION TO ACADIA NATIONAL PARK   Atlantic Adventures Visit stunning Acadia National Park, including Cadillac Mountain and Jordan Pond. Discover the unique sounds of the waves at Thunder Hole and take in the majestic views from Otter Point. Walk on a historic carriage road alongside peaceful ponds and lush forests. Continue to Agamont Park in Bar Harbor and enjoy free time this evening. (B)

    TOUR HIGHLIGHT
    RUSTIC ROADS Carriage roads were added to Acadia National Park by John D. Rockefeller, Jr. for people and horses to travel through nature in a serene environment, free of automobiles. Forty-five miles of paths weave around the mountains and valleys of the park and are still motor-free.

  • Day 4 BAR HARBOR-NORTH CONWAY, NEW HAMPSHIRE   Naturally Beautiful New England Back to the mainland and west through Maine for vistas of sparkling lakes and forests. Then, on to New Hampshire and the scenic White Mountains, New England's greatest range and premier outdoor playground. Later, enjoy the [LF] Raven Interpretive Program with a Local Naturalist. Free time this evening. (B)

    WILD & WONDERFUL Travel through New England's great White Mountains including the unique topography and wildlife on your way to New Hampshire's Raven Interpretive Program site. Join a Local Naturalist to hear the fascinating stories about the unique environs of northern New England and the wealth of local wildlife here.

  • Day 5 NORTH CONWAY-WOODSTOCK, VERMONT-STRATTON   Spectacular Sights & Bites Visit an iconic covered bridge and take photos of the classic New England fall colors. Then, enjoy lunch at Franconia State Park, a top New England spot for leaf peeping. Continue on a beautiful drive through Franconia Notch and along the renowned Kancamagus Highway. Hugging the Connecticut River, cross into Vermont and visit Woodstock, its village green reminiscent of 19th-century England. Visit Billings Farm & Museum. Continue to Stratton Mountain Lodge in the Green Mountain National Forest. (B,L,D)

Continue to Sturbridge for dinner at a local restaurant and an overnight stay at the [LF] Publick House Historic Inn. (B,D)

Learn about whaling life and seafarer tales of old with a fascinating look at life on the New England coast. On to Rhode Island, the "Ocean State" for a free evening. (B)

    Explore more in Newport! Newport is a charming coastal city with glamorous yachts, a rugged coastline and Gilded Age mansions. Newport was a critical Colonial Era port city and played a significant role in the American Revolution, as it was occupied by the British for three years. Discover life in Newport today with a sunset stroll on the Cliff Walk or enjoy a lobster roll on the waterfront.

  • Day 8 NEWPORT   Spend your day your way in Newport Today, enjoy a orientation tour and see the first state house, the nation's oldest synagogue, Ocean Drive, and St. Mary's Church. Then explore more of with your choice of included Globus Choice Excursions.

    HIGH SOCIETY
    Rub elbows with the iconic figures of the Gilded Age on a guided tour to explore The Breakers' the grandest of Newport's summer "cottages." This National Historic Landmark and home of the Vanderbilts is a one-in-a-million experience!

  • Day 9 NEWPORT-BOSTON   Boston's Bold History Depart this morning for Boston. Take a guided walking tour of the city's highlights. After a transfer to the airport for departing guests, the motorcoach continues downtown to the tour hotel, where the tour ends. Please schedule flights from Boston's Logan International Airport after 3:30 pm. Want to explore more of Boston on your own? Extra nights are available for purchase. (B)
