- Day 1 Nairobi to Maasai Mara via Nairobi National Park Hello and welcome to Nairobi! Meet your Contiki crew, grab your camera, and let’s hit the road for our very first game drive. Hop on! Today, you'll have the option to cruise through Nairobi National Park on overland trucks. Keep your eyes peeled for waterholes, cityscapes and wildlife. If you like, you'll also have time to visit the Sheldrick Elephant rehabilitation nursery, where you can watch baby elephants play and bathe in the water, and hear the fascinating story of their road to recovery too. Passing through the Great Rift Valley, we’ll get to our Maasai Mara stay. You're free to spend the evening chatting & bonding with your crew. - Day 2 Masaai Mara It's game drive time. After trucking around in search of Africa's elusive big cats, we'll settle down by a scenic spot for lunch. And then head back on the road for some more wildlife spotting. Oh, and if you're here at the right time of year, you’ll even have the chance to witness the Great Migration. In the evening, you'll have the chance to visit a Maasai village, meet members of the tribe and even learn their traditions. Locations Visited: Maasai Mara National Reserve KE.
- Day 3 Masaai Mara to Sagana Rise and shine, Kenyan explorers! You can opt in for another game drive in the Maasai wilderness this morning. Then, we're off to Sagana... Time to settle down in our riverside base for the night. So, rest up and keep dreaming of all the adventure that awaits us tomorrow. Locations Visited: Maasai Mara National Reserve KE, Sagana KE.
- Day 4 Sagana Love adrenaline-pumping activities? Boy, you're gonna love today. White water rafting. Rock climbing. Archery. Ziplining. There's no end to all the fun you can opt in for here. Best part? You've got an onsite restaurant (with a pool & bar) to fuel up as you go. Locations Visited: Sagana KE.
- Day 5 Sagana to Amboseli Bye bye Sagana, you’ve been epic. We’ll hit the road with a stop at a local restaurant for a buffet of delish regional dishes — the perfect refuel before the journey continues. Aaaand, we’ve made it to Amboseli. Time for a game drive, so keep your eyes peeled for incredible wildlife — including some of Africa’s last “tuskers” roaming these plains. And if luck’s on our side, you might even spot them with Mt Kilimanjaro in the background. Then it’s off to our campsite for the night. Locations Visited: Sagana KE, Amboseli KE.
- Day 6 Amboseli to Nairobi We’ll head out for one final game drive, keeping watch for last wildlife sightings and soaking up those iconic Amboseli views. Then it’s back to Nairobi, where the trip officially comes to an end (sob). Say goodbye to the crew and head home with a camera roll full of safari moments. - FAQs - Nairobi National Park: Yep – and it’s so worth it. After the Free Time Add-On Nairobi National Park game drive, you’ll have the option to swing by the Sheldrick Elephant Nursery. Note, however, that you’ll need to grab your own ticket in advance directly from the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust website. This costs around $20 USD.. Maasai Mara National Reserve: Hot air balloon rides may be available in the Maasai Marai through independent local operators. While floating over the savannah sounds pretty iconic, this isn’t an activity Contiki promotes, sells or books, as local provider insurance does not meet our required standards. If you'd like to take a hot air balloon ride, you're free to arrange and pay directly with a local operator while on tour. This is completely independent of Contiki and follows the operator’s own terms, safety standards and insurance cover.. Amboseli: Premium camping is classic camping, levelled up. Our road crew will set up these tents for you - all with premium facilities like chill-out zones, communal bathrooms and all the creature comforts.. Amboseli: Nope, you're all good! All equipment (tents, sleeping bags, etc) will be provided for you.. Amboseli: You don't have to. Your road crew will set up camp, cook meals, and clean up afterwards - but you're always welcome to help!. Amboseli: You'll have access to proper bathrooms with real toilets, hot showers and everything you need - just shared with the crew..
