  • Day 1 Arusha to Mto Wa Mbu   Hello and welcome to the oh-so-stunning Tanzania! Say hello to your Contiki crew before we check out the Shanga Community Project - a wonderful initiative that offers employment to disabled community members through arts & crafts. Welcome to Mto Wa Mbu - our home for tonight (and also the gateway to some of the best national parks in Africa). So settle in, grab dinner, and spend some time with your crew. Locations Visited: Arusha TZ, Mto Wa Mbu TZ.
  • Day 2 Mto Wa Mbu to Serengeti via Ngorongoro Crater   See ya in a bit, Mto Wa Mbu. We've got a couple more places to tick off. We’ll head out on another game drive across the crater floor, keeping watch for the Big 5 and plenty more wildlife along the way. Was that a lion?! Oh… just your tummy grumbling. Good news — it’s time for lunch. Then it’s back out for one more game drive in the world-famous Serengeti before heading to our campsite set right in the heart of it all — surrounded by wildlife and as close to living in nature as it gets. Locations Visited: Mto Wa Mbu TZ, Ngorongoro Crater TZ, Serengeti TZ.
  • Day 3 Serengeti   We'll spend a full day seeking out the game of Africa's plains, with predators in hot pursuit of their prey. If the wildebeest migration is around, then you are in for a wildlife treat: millions of wildebeest and zebra grazing for as far as the eye can see really is one of Africa's greatest spectacles to observe. A buffet dinner awaits us back at our safari camp. Locations Visited: Serengeti TZ.
  • Day 4 Serengeti to Mto Wa Mbu   We’ll start with a hot breakfast before heading out on a morning game drive through the Serengeti. We’ll keep watch for big cats, elephants, giraffes and plenty more as the plains wake up around us. After a picnic lunch en route, we’ll exit the Serengeti and continue towards Mto Wa Mbu, with a shopping stop at Safariland if time allows. Tonight, we’ll arrive at camp and settle in over an included dinner. Locations Visited: Serengeti TZ, Mto Wa Mbu TZ.
  • Day 5 Mto Wa Mbu via Lake Manyara   Wakey wakey. You guessed it - it's game drive time! Home to its famous tree-climbing lions (yep!), Lake Manyara serves up a totally different safari vibe. A Maasai village tour? Mountain biking around Mto Wa Mbu? Canoeing across Lake Manyara? You've got loads of activities to choose after lunch. Plus, if a night game drive sounds like something you'll love - this is your chance! It's our final night together, so come join us for a delish dinner to wrap things up. Catch some sleep and start dreaming about the final safari that awaits us tomorrow. Locations Visited: Mto Wa Mbu TZ, Lake Manyara TZ, Mto Wa Mbu TZ.
  • Day 6 Mto Wa Mbu to Arusha via Tarangire National Park   It's our last day on safari and our last chance for some wildlife viewing. So opt to jump on one last game drive in Tarangire National Park? This epic national park is famed for its two African giants - the elephant and baobab trees. Keep your eyes peeled! And with that, our wonderful, epic, surreal trip has sadly come to an end. With full hearts and memories made, it's time to say fond farewells to your new lifelong friends, and to our African adventure. Locations Visited: Mto Wa Mbu TZ, Tarangire National Park TZ, Arusha TZ.

    • FAQs - Serengeti: Hot air balloon rides may be available in the Serengeti through independent local operators. While floating over the savannah sounds pretty iconic, this isn’t an activity Contiki promotes, sells or books, as local provider insurance does not meet our required standards. If you'd like to take a hot air balloon ride, you're free to arrange and pay directly with a local operator while on tour. This is completely independent of Contiki and follows the operator’s own terms, safety standards and insurance cover.. Amboseli: Premium camping is classic camping, levelled up. Our road crew will set up these tents for you - all with premium facilities like chill-out zones, communal bathrooms and all the creature comforts.. Amboseli: Nope, you're all good! All equipment (tents, sleeping bags, etc) will be provided for you.. Amboseli: You don't have to. Your road crew will set up camp, cook meals, and clean up afterwards - but you're always welcome to help!. Amboseli: You'll have access to proper bathrooms with real toilets, hot showers and everything you need - just shared with the crew..
    • Included Experience - Arusha: Support this social enterprise that employs local disabled people with artisanal skills. Watch weaving, glass blowing, beading, paper making and metal work. . Serengeti: Watch out for local wildlife as we head to our camp, which is bang in the middle of these endless plains. Could the location be any more epic?   . Serengeti: Was that lion we heard last night? Let’s go find out. Take an incredible morning drive in search of the wildlife we heard throughout the night. . Serengeti: Cruise around the plains at sunset to explore new areas and spot a few more animals before they head off to bed. . Serengeti: Another day, another game drive, giving us the most amount of opportunities to see the wildlife that roams these plains..
