Why go on a Missouri Tour?

Missouri is a mix of interesting cities and rural appeal.  Many travellers are eager to visit St. Louis.  Ride to the top of the 630 foot-tall Gateway Arch for a view of the city and river.  Under the Arch is a museum dedicated to the Lewis and Clark expedition.  Also visit Laclede’s Landing, the Soulard Historic District, Union Station, and Forest Park while you’re there.  And don’t forget to try some famous St. Louis barbeque at one of the eateries!  You may even get to create your own barbecue sauce at one of the restaurants depending on your itinerary.  Visit the former home of President Abraham Lincoln and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield.  If you’re in town during the International Route 66 Festival in September, you will find busy streets with vintage cars and motorcycles, live Motown entertainment, and inviting vendors.  Experience the music scene in Branson and the artistic city of Hannibal.  Visit historic downtowns and stop by museums and craft markets. Missouri also offers country sights for those seeking forest land and open spaces for laid-back roaming.

When is the best time to go?

June through September is the peak tourist season.  Missouri has an abundance of festivals in the summertime so there will always be something going on during your Missouri Tour, especially in St. Louis.  July and August are especially hot with temperatures averaging 30°C.  Spring and fall are nice times to explore St. Louis’ Forest Park without the crowds or extreme weather.  Similarly, Branson is active during the warmer months with theatre performances, lake activities, and water parks.  Many resorts and lodgings offer discounts in the winter months when the outdoor theatres and theme parks are closed.  Winter temperatures average between -3°C and 1°C.
