    Colombia Vacations

Colombia, a country of contrasts, is a definite must-see for anyone dreaming about a South American getaway. Featuring towering skyscrapers, awe-inspiring beaches, Amazon safaris, and archaeological ruins, the magical landscape of Colombia offers it all! Picture yourself in Cartagena, the sultry harbour on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Surrounded by 500-year-old fortress walls, this historic and colourful city will leave you with plenty of unforgettable tales. Make your way to Medellin, a city that offers a beautiful fusion of old meets new. Get acquainted with incredible landmarks such as the Museo del Antioquia, Cerro Nutibara and Basilica de la Candelaria. To satisfy your thrill for adventure, head over to the Amazon and come face to face with the world’s largest rainforest and copious rivers. With so much to see and do, you’ll find plenty of reasons to want to extend your Colombia vacation!

Getting Around: The main and largest airline carrier in Colombia is the Avianca/SAM, which covers both domestic and international routes. Aero Republica covers similar territories as Avianca, AIRES services smaller cities and towns, while SATENA flies to difficult locations such as the Amazon, the Pacific coast, and dozens of other smaller towns and villages.

The best way to travel around Colombia is by bus or minivan. In the coffee-growing areas, the most common mode of transportation are the Willys jeeps.

Where to Stay: There are countless of accommodation options in Colombia suitable for various types of travellers. Whether you fancy the idea of staying at a 3-star resort like the Decameron Isleno in San Andres or at the 4-star Royal Decameron Baru in Cartagena, we’re here to help you plan the vacation you’ve been dreaming about!

Weather: Because of its proximity to the Equator, the temperature here tends to vary according to the altitude rather than the season. As a general guide, the typical temperature in Bogota is 14C, 31C in Cartagena, and 24C in Medellin. The rainy months are October and November.
