The St James resort was very relaxing and very clean. Friendly and helpful staff I would recommend this hotel This survey is tricky because the questions that require yes/no are difficult to figure out. A check mark would be much easier because I don’t know if yes should be dark or light

The two beaches they have are very different - the bay is calm but the water is not clear. The ocean side is clear but very windy and a bit rocky and treacherous to enter and exit the water. Food was good but not amazing and access to reservation restaurants is prioritized for Royal guests which means you will not always get in. Finally and most upsetting was that we had a pipe break in our villa and it took two days to repair despite their promises. We also needed to wait for management and other staff for extended length of time which is a waste when you are on a short holiday. When we asked for some form of compensation it was refused and there seemed to be a negotiation mindset. We eventually got a little for our troubles (

Beautiful resort! Lots of variety, different places to eat, breakfast buffet is amazing! Entertainment every night at the Docksider restaurant along with fabulous food. Beautiful little coffee shop that’s open 24 hours a day, serving every type of coffee you can imagine, alcoholic or not. Saddest part of the resort was the seaweed but nothing that could be helped. Hotel staff was tirelessly trying to clean it up every morning. Other side of the hotel was Marmora Bay which was beautiful for swimming, kayaking, etc. We went there for a wedding and had an amazing time. Did the Shirley Heights tour and Swim with Stingrays. Lovely vacation, if only the sargassum stayed away!

Staff is wonderful, events are numerous and varied. Challenging to book reservations for two restaurants as exclusive vacationers have first priority leaving very late dinner times. Due to weather we were unable to take advantage of excursions from resort. Bed this time was uncomfortable and concessions to help were not successful. A different mattress would have alleviated the situation. This was our second time.

St James's Club is an amazing resort. Our third visit and would return again. Excellent food, clean rooms, friendly and kind staff. Grounds very well maintained. Only a 45-minute drive from the airport. Although a family resort, was quiet.

We have just returned from what I have been telling everyone was a perfect holiday. My husband and I stayed at St. James Club in 2018 and loved it so much we vowed we would return. Check in was a breeze and we love the fact that wristbands are not in use here. We stayed in a beachfront room and it was like we had gone to heaven. Clean large room and bathroom with a lovely soaker tub. The AC worked perfectly as did the ceiling fan. The porch was about 15 x 10 in size with a table and two chairs with footstools. We walked off the porch right on to the beach and into a lounge chair. Watching the sunrise every morning from the porch with a freshly brewed cappuccino from the coffee shop was so decadent. We did have one rainy day which we spent on the porch playing cards and reading. We were very content to be outside in spite of the weather. The room was centrally located so it was a short walk to the restaurants, bars and Mamora Bay. The food at every restaurant was delicious. With a variety of theme nights you never felt like the food was repetitive. We enjoyed our dinner at Piccolo Mondo as well. Good food is an important part of our vacation experience and we can honestly say that we never had even a mediocre meal. The beaches are beautiful. You never really needed to get up at the crack of dawn to save yourself a good spot on the beach. There always seemed to be spots available. It was impressive to see staff on the beach around 9:00 PM straightening up the chairs and collecting glasses and towels so that when you come to the beach in the morning it was all set for your day. Picture perfect! The crew was out early morning cleaning up the seaweed and raking the sand so it was never packed down. We are not pool people so I really cannot comment on that except to say that when we were at the Rainbow Restaurant for breakfast, there were few chairs with towels on them. Unlike other resorts, we were not required to return our beach towels to where you pick them up in order to get clean dry towels. Just leave them on the beach and pick up fresh towels after you have breakfast. So easy. The WIFI was always available and worked great. We did two excursions. The first was a full island helicopter tour with CalvinAir out of St. Johns. $199 US per person which I booked ahead of time on line. It was amazing. After the helicopter ride we went into English Harbour and had lunch at Pillars restaurant that was recommended to us by the taxi driver. It was awesome. The food and surroundings were amazing. The taxi to St. Johns then to English Harbour and then to the resort was $110 US and the taxi driver will wait for you at all of these locations. The second was swimming with the Stingrays which we arranged at the resort. Nikki at the tour desk was so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed chatting with her. She has been with the resort for 41 years and gave us some interesting background about the resort and island. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the cost for this excursion but the taxi was $90 round trip. The taxi drivers were friendly and always pointed out interesting bits about the island. What we noticed that was different during our stay this time was that some of the staff were not as friendly or helpful as we remembered. Several times servers in the Rainbow Restaurant would outright ignore you if you said excuse me when they were right beside your table. I am not sure why but that is something that could be improved. We did notice that management stepped up and helped out in the restaurant when it was overwhelmed and we were impressed by that. One day we had an issue getting towels for our room and after three phone calls over the course of a few hours a gentleman by the name of Peter brought a fresh set of towels directly to our room within minutes of speaking to him. We later learned he was one of the management staff. The couple of issues we had were minor really and would not deter us from staying here again. I would like to make a couple of suggestions. One is that there be a space (perhaps the library area near the front entrance), that could have table and chairs suitable for playing cards or games at night or on a rainy day. The chairs and tables currently in this room are low and uncomfortable. The lighting would need to be a bit better as well. Secondly, a great majority of the people at the resort are 50+ and have difficulty getting up from the deep chairs and couches. While they look wonderful, they are not comfortable particularly for people with knee, hip or back issues. A few chairs here and there that would suit those needs would be appreciated. Thank you to the staff and management for making our stay the perfect vacation.

The grounds were wonderful, but the beach was not the best, since they put in the wall. The food was great, but the service was very slow. But I was on holiday and had nowhere to be. The Bay and the ocean were a cool feature, almost 2 different places. The room was huge. There was an unexpected covid tax when checking out of $238 American, but everyone is making a buck.

List of issues (many went unresolved) Room safe; not working. It took a day to get repaired and after three formal complaints. Several undercooked/cold meals at different buffet and à la cart restaurants. One night, a 6:30 seating for dinner, slow service and problems caused us to not leave until almost 9:00. Finished plates were left at table for 50 minutes! We had to get own water and drinks from the bar. At the orientation, Stephen had announced laundry service was included at no charge. Many were surprised by this announcement and confirmed the information was correct at the meeting. Requests for a laundry bag: simply went ignored. Just as well. We found out later the costs for this service were very expensive. Requests for a bath mat (which housekeeping didn't have on the cart) were ignored. Nothing done. Bars were regularly out of limes, out of cherries, out of Grey Goose before 8pm Housekeeping: no soap left after room cleaning. We were mislead about transportation costs and timing of trip by Naomi Smoke alarm in the room started going off one night night at approximately 1:30, 2:30 3:15, 4:00 and 5:45. It was removed the next day, but not replaced! A late check out was request and approved, but we ended up being locked out of our room as the room key was deactivated at the regular check out time. There was no Sunwing representative on-site the entire time. All Inclusive includes problems and disappointment

The food was amazing staff were very friendly. We experienced heavy rains and an umbrella in the room would have been helpful. Ample chairs to sit at beach and towels were easy to get for pools and beach. Our room was nice with a great view of the ocean. Piccolo restaurant was romantic and very good food. Bartender Selman next to Docksider restaurant was an amazing bar tender. The hotel should provide an assistant for him to assist with washing glasses or provide a bigger dishwasher as the bar was full of glasses big time. Bartender Dane in the lounge outside of Rainbow restaurant was also very helpful and friendly.

St James Club was a beautiful resort clean, well maintained, friendly staff, great food. Lovely pools and beach. Peaceful and relaxing. Great coffee shop with fresh goodies and sandwiches. Liked the golf cart service of drinks on the beach. Golf cart service to the restaurants and spa. Spa secular on top of the mountain and truly relaxing. Great theme nights and Disco and karaoke night as well. Looking forward to returning back

Firstly let me say that most of the staff at this hotel were lovely. The hotel itself had its good points, big rooms, large property etc. however the issues were as follows Firstly the beach.. on one side was the Atlantic which provided a small beach however due to the weed issues they have been having on that coast for years it was unusable. The other beach was a cove and looked nothing like the pictures. Within a few feet of being in the water it was dark and weedy. Secondly drinks… none in the rooms, just an empty fridge, so you had to buy them at the hotel store and no drinks were brought to you on the beach or at the pool. Next the food… it was ok, occasionally more than ok but it was never more than that. They had two a la cart restaurants, one that was at an extra charge and only open two nights a week and required a dress code… the other was open 5 nights a week however the portions of food were ridiculously small. There was an outdoor buffet restaurant which was ok but not great and one other outdoor restaurant that was not great at all. A couple of nights there was a bit of music but mostly no entertainment at all All in all it was a disappointing experience…and when people look for a high quality all inclusive experience that was not cheap I think they need to know in advance what they are spending there money on.. thank goodness for excellent weather a beautiful island and great company.

Lots of greenery all around the resort. Coco beach that faces Atlantic was unfortunately closed due to the seaweed, however resort also has a beach that faces the bay, water was calm and good for swimming however not the greatest as it was kind of murky. This has to do something with type of sand rather than been unclean.Food was excellent and cleanliness extremely good. Coffee bar was my favourite with specialty coffee available whole day. Service was good. Not very impressed with extra 25 us $ charge per day as the room was only cleaned every second day so not really sure why extra cleaning charge was needed specially as room is occupied with same guests whole week so no need to deep clean during your stay. Felt safe as everyone was practicing safe Covid protocol.

Meticulously kept gardens, clean eating areas, plenty of pools, well mannered staff and delicious food make this resort a great choice. Spend the extra money for royal suites and you won't be disappointed. Remember you are on island time, so sit back, relax and enjoy you quiet time, one of the water sports or am excursion.

The four of us felt the restaurants / meals were excellent [along with the theme nights]. Our oceanside room was great and the beach area was cleaned daily to remove any seaweed washed up during the night. Several pools were available with a bar nearby. We especially liked the staff who were always there with a smile, great service and willing to "kibits" with you in a friendly manner.

We enjoyed our stay at St.James—great staff, excellent beaches (2) lots of water activities, multiple choices for pools, good gym, 4 tennis courts, well maintained property,etc., Not a lot of night life but that was ok. The Piccolo restaurant is a gem and worth the extra money. Loved the 24 hour coffee bar.

That resort was spacious and never felt crowded even though we understood the adults only section where we spent a week was fully booked. If we wanted sun or shade or a quiet drink ther was always a wide choice open to us - a major plus Two other pluses, no or very muted music to distract us and the only resort we have ever been in where no tipping actually meant no tipping. The food was very good and well presented

When we booked our trip, Nicole Kirk asked us what we were hoping and looking for in our trip. We were not disappointed, the whole experience was amazing! The resort was beautiful, and the location of our room so close to the beach was incredible. We looked forward to each meal, the food was fantastic! We felt very safe and relaxed the whole time. We would definitely recommend this resort to others !

St James Club in Antigua is a great location. They have the whole peninsula and its all very well-groomed, accommodation is very nice. The beaches are groomed daily, removing the little seaweed that does wash up. Rooms very clean and air-conditioned. The food is good and in good quantity. The booze is ok, the beer is a local beer which was ok, the wine was subpar IMHO. They did have premium liquors and of course very nice rums. The mix (pop) is fountain pop so it makes a drink taste a bit different than if you used canned Coke here at home. Making reservations at the a la carte restaurants is easy, a quick phone call the day before. Watersports are available daily. Sunwing Airline was fine, its pretty tight but they all are these days, same as Rouge etc. They do board at an infield terminal which means a bus ride from Terminal 3 to the infield Terminal which adds about 10 minutes each way. No food or booze is supplied free, it's all available at cost, again, same as most airlines these days. The airport in Antigua is very modern, smaller and a breeze to get through.

Very good quality resort all around. The food is consistently very good at all restaurants. The ocean-facing beach is lovely. The beachfront rooms are right on the beach, spacious and comfortable. Very pleasant staff who take care of your requests and needs promptly.

I visited SJC with my girlfriend after a long search for potential places to go for a week long vacation and we were thrilled with the decision. The Club is located in a beautiful and peaceful area with options to look towards the ocean or into the bay. We opted for the ocean, as it provided a nice (but not crazy) breeze, which was very appreciated with the hot weather, and was calmer and quieter compared to the bay side. The staff at the SJC were top tier and lovely across the board. The food was strong for an all inclusive and healthy options were available for anyone who wanted to go for fruits instead of bacon... Perfect place if you're looking for a relaxing place to hangout. Rooms were a bit dated but perfectly appointed and served the purpose with great views for most. Would recommend to anyone heading south.

So far the best small island we have ever been to. The grounds were kept very clean, beaches were also beautiful. Especially liked the gentleman with the drink cart that came to you on the beach. We stayed on the bay side where they had all the water sports, excellent! Room was great, large sitting area, with sink and coffee/tea maker, king sized bed and bathroom was very large. The cleaning staff were awesome. Maintenance guys were great. We did have a couple of issues during our stay and they were fixed within 24 hours. Food was also excellent. Buffets had different themes every day, but had something for everyone. If you wanted a specialty restaurant you had to get up early though to reserve a spot because you were only able to reserve for the next day, not the week, and usually early times went quickly. Did some off resort trips, which were excellent. Beautiful country, people were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Caribbean side beaches very beautiful with clear blue water, good snorkeling at the reef and awesome views from the tops of the mountains. Only advice, wear sunscreen, sun is very hot. Best trip we have had so far, on a small island!

It was very well kept grounds. 110 acres to roam around. Gym was excellent. Breakfast and lunch buffet were great but dinner either a la carte or buffet. Sometimes the a la carte restaurants reservations were full for 6:30 pm start so ended up eating buffet. Rooms were up to date, lovely and clean. The entertainment was ok, different bands and single musicians but we were used to larger productions. The weather was excellent 30*c everyday. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel was good. Felica our travel agent recommended the hotel and location and treated us so well. We were celebrating a milestone birthday and Felicia made arrangements to surprise us with champagne in our room for when we arrived. The hotel and beach was exactly what she discribed.

I have never submitted a review before, but feel the need to do so. This is a very, very quiet resort. The resort had no evening entertainment. Everything was quiet by 8:00 PM. There is really only one pool and you can't see the ocean from it because the view is blocked by buildings. The people are lovely. Pay a bit extra and go to the Caribbean side.

Overall the resort was comfortable and relaxing. I’m literally sitting on the beach at this resort now writing this review. If you, like I, read the reviews and weren’t sure what people are talking about read on. This place is beautiful and I would absolutely come back. In short the beach, accommodations and food are excellent and the people are all incredibly friendly. Any review to opposite should spend some time looking in the mirror. Food: My wife is both gluten and dairy intolerant (no way to live am i right?) so food is tough for us. They have been incredibly accommodating even to the point of pre taking our dinner order at restaurants so the chef can make a meal that allows her to eat without fear of later feeling sick. For me (who’s diatary requires are no so restrictive) the food has been great. I’m not sure how others who complain live or where they eat but it’s been amazing. The themed nights are awesome. Food is great and for somebody with accommodations needed it’s been wonderful. Accommodations: both the villas and beach front rooms are great. The beds comfortable, bathroom spacious. The resort is older (so gardens are lush) but so are the accommodations. I’m happy here cause I spend little time in the room anyway. It’s nice, quiet and comfortable. Everything I need. Beaches, pools and public space: Two beaches is awesome. I’ve spent most of my time on the ocean side unlike other reviews. Can swim on both beaches, not sure what other reviews are talking about. The ocean side has great ocean sounds and sights with a light breeze which is wonderful. I’ve enjoyed it much more than the bay side. There is always a palapa, chair or space available. I swear it’s like they have lounges for double or triple the people who could be here. Never a fight for a spot to sit down unlike other resorts I’ve been to running at 8am to reserve a spot. Never have to do that hear. It’s so great. People: The people here are lovely. I swear I’ve spoken to everybody who works here they are all awesome and have a great sense of humour and appear to enjoy what they are doing. “You reep what you sow” Talk to people with respect and kindness and it’s amazing how kind and gracious they are in return. One of the ladies at the front desk said she got a complaint about the weather as if there was something she could do about it. (Get Jesus on the phone! Ebony you’re hilarious) I suspect if you had an experience with somebody being rude it’s not the staff fault. As I sit under a palapa at this very moment on the beach I’m watching people have a great conversation with the guy raking the beach with a big smile on his face and Alfred the drink cart master just made my day again. If there’s rude staff here I haven’t found them yet. Will keep looking and keep you posted. Great things about this resort: Drink the water from the taps, you don’t need water bottles in the fridge. The resort has their own desalination plant so you can drink the water right from the taps. Google desalination if you don’t understand it. But yes you can drink the water from the taps just like home, that’s fact. Save the planet from plastic garbage at the same time and don’t use them at all. There’s nobody bugging on you the beach with birds to take your picture, selling crap, braiding your hair etc. you can just relax and enjoy. Both beaches are great. I preferred the ocean side myself. Many reviews were for the bay. If you have small kids the bay would be good. Night life: I’m not 20 (I’m 40) and have no desire for a club. Goto cancun if that’s what you want. There is night lift, beach party, singers at the outside lounge, games to play etc. never had a hard time finding stuff to do after dinner never was bored. Coffee shop: get yourself an Amarcano black, add honey and cinnamon. My wife talked me into it. Do it. Trust me. Anyway I’m done ranting. I hate reviews cause they seem to be written by people who are their heads up their (you know what) and not from somebody who’s just a normal traveler happy to be there.

Very poor welcome ...arrived tired after a very early flight...receptionist very curt...no cold beverage offered...instead of giving us a brief summary (there was an orientation the next morning) she wasted 10 minutes showing us a map of hotel and giving us fairly redundant information. Main pool was freezing, have never been in a colder pool in the Caribbean, they should heat it when it gets below 68. Staff very pleasant especially the bar staff and Joanna in the coffee cabin which was one of the more pleasant treats. Overall beaches, food staff and resort a four star. Would highly recommend Anna at the hair salon, great cut for $20 ..

The grounds are very beautiful. There are ocean views from all the rooms and restaurants. The staff are lovely,very helpful and friendly. Beachfront rooms have patios right on the beach. The food was very good, with a choice of restaurants.

can’t Complain about this gem Resort was at 90%capacity but we never felt crowded anywhere. The beaches although they couldn’t be called pristine were very nice and not busy at all. Always found beach chairs at any time of the day which was awesome

My wife and I just returned from a lovely week-long vacation. We stayed Feb 9th to 16th. We had a blast! Our room was clean and quiet, and close to everything (pool, buffet, beach). The food was great; there was always something new to try. Hearing the ocean at night was amazing and truly relaxing.

Excellent service and super friendly staff. They do a great job in maintaining the grounds and keeping everyone happy. It is never busy or crowded wherever you want to go because there are so many places (beaches and pools) to choose from. Food is excellent and we liked that you had lots of options.

Everything from the staff to the food to the amenities to the beach to the drinks to the weather was perfect ! Great low key resort for a relaxed vacation. We will be back for sure ! The rooms are a bit tired but they are renovating them at the moment. Judy Anne and the front desk made our trip amazing with an ocean view suite upgrade . Robert Barrett the owner runs his Resorts with great professionalism!

The rooms were clean and new. The food was surprisingly good, especially the buffets. The staff was extremely nice, and the resort was beautiful. The only thing that lacked was the beaches themselves at that particular resort. It’s a nice view but not nice for swimming. You have to rent a car and go around the island to all the other beaches, as they are quite spectacular.

Thank you Sally Sloan @tripcentral for finding us this gem. Beautiful resort, walk out room to beautiful beach . This isn’t all adult but the beautiful private adult pools were wonderful . Staff was excellent. Food was very good. It’s slow season so it was a little limited on food but nothing for us to worry about. Only complaint. Spa was stupid price. No deals no specials . We like to do the spa a couple times but no way 130$us for just a facial or massage ! Nope we didn’t use it once and nobody elese did either! It’s ok we can sit and watch that beautiful ocean from our deck all day!

During the vacation planning stage, St. James Club and The Verandah were number 1 & 2 on our resort wish list. It was put to a family vote, and St. James won by a narrow margin based on the fact that it was an adults only resort(family resort now). Due to a seaweed problem, we were offered to relocate to either the Verandah or the Pineapple resort. We went with our number 2, The Verandah. The Verandah did not disappoint. The resort is located on a hilly terrain. Every semi-detached suite/cottage had a view of the ocean/bay. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The grounds are beautifully landscaped-walking the grounds of this large resort felt like I was walking in a small town (the resort has golf carts to shuttle guests around). The two private beaches offered white sand, clean shallow water levels, and plenty of water activities. The food was amazing-not one bad meal! I loved the managers cocktail party-an outdoor, white table cloth, BBQ evening event. The bars were well stocked and offered great cocktails. The staff, a hard working group of people-professional, courteous, with a friendly smile and a hello every time we met. The Verandah and it's sister resort the Pineapple, are located across the street from each other. The resorts offer day passes, a great option to enjoy the best of two resorts for the price of one!

Our vacation at Verandah Resort and Spa went very well, no major complains or issues. The grounds were well kept and clean, the service friendly, prompt and polite, the food delicious and with more than enough variety to please the pickiest children. The pool was a favourite spot - I just wished they provided more lounge chairs, so people would not have to sit on the beach towels when all the available lounge chairs were taken. The beaches were nice but I believe they are more suited for younger children who would be more interested to splash in the shallows and play in the sand. It was difficult to actually swim, as the water was shallow for a large distance and the bottom was covered in seaweed. The whole beach experience was lovely though (especially on the smaller, more secluded Rasta Beach) - "sun, sand, drink (or book) in hand" truly describes the spirit of this relaxing vacation experience. The rooms were spacious and the individual bungalow design ensured privacy and quietude. I'm not sure if the floors were actually cleaned (washed with some sort of ceramic cleaner) during the daily room maintenance, as the soles regularly turned black/dirty if going barefoot.

Pineapple resort experience were overall beautiful for the most part. On our first day one of the staff were abrubt and rude, telling us that its policy to wait at the desk... We did not have a problem doing so but its all about the approach. The grounds were beautiful. The rooms and most of the staff were inviting as well. Michelle was (Fantastic)

Resort grounds beautiful. Two very nice beaches. Staff, from grounds keepers right on up to management excellent. Suite was large, breezy, nicely decorated and sitting right on the ocean. Absolutely beautiful view. Building itself a little dated, but work underway on upgrades. Fabulous, very large Fitness Center. Good to great food. Did not go to the pay restaurant as we found those included in all inclusive package met our needs perfectly. Love the bars because you get hand made drinks rather than the overly sweet, machine blended concoctions. I spent a week at an all inclusive in Curacao where I could not find a single drink on offer that I liked and they all came from machines.

My mom and I picked this resort to spend some quality mother and daughter time. It was also to celebrate her 77th birthday. The hotel staff was very warm and friendly. They kept our rooms clean daily and surprised my mom with a complimentary bottle of champagne. Each night we dined at different restaurants on the resort, the Rainbow Cafe, Coco's and Dockside were our favorite. The resort is very clean, the porters were always willing to take us anywhere and it felt like we had our own little paradise. I would definitely recommend going on vacation to this resort, as I'm sure I'll be returning in the future. Many great memories were made. One of the awesome and unique features of this resort is two long stretches of sandy beach, one on the Atlantic side, and one on a large bay, where the calm water is ideal for kayak, paddle board, paddle boat etc. Service was excellent, staff very friendly and efficient, rooms exceptionally clean, food very good, lots of variety in activities, great entertainment. Would like to have had more shade on the bay side and at the main pool.

What a fab location, 2 totally different beachs, one calm Mamora Bay, and one windy and stunning. We felt so at home here from day one.The staff were all very happy to see us, nothing was too much trouble, they really have superb customer service skills. They have a lovely well stocked gift shop, with groceries, wine and beer etc. Our room was 706 it was a suite with Ocean views..It was very spacious with a kitchen ,we didn't use anything other than the small fridge.The room is a little dated, but the bed was comfy and we slept well.. We paid $10 a day for continuous wifi for our convenience ,but it is available free in the lobby.. The pools are lovely, so many to choose from, they have something for everyone, water sports were great and the staff were super friendly and got us involved in beach activities..Mamora Bay is ideal for using the SUP, Hobie Cat,windsurfing,kayaks.. On the whole the food was good,we tried Picolo Monda one night, we paid $75 for this and it was lovely.The only meal and service we were not happy with was Cocos, the bar tender was great, service was just ok and food was not to our liking..Lunch at 1-11 the next day for lunch was great..a lovely spot,we spent the day at the pool there. We so enjoyed tea and scones, mini sandwiches at tea time,4-5 pm at the main pool. Adults and children will love this place.. Overall we really loved it here and can't wait to return..

The hotel is very organized and it is easy to get around. Rooms: They are a bit outdated and on the upholstered furniture there is a lot of visible spots. Cleaned regularly and it is nice and clean. Food: For breakfast it is just the same all the time. I missed some fresh vegetables. Seating is very easy and the staff is exceptional. Lunch and dinner are more diverse and lot of selection. Beach: Two beaches - Coco beach is just too windy because it is on the Atlantic Ocean side. Mamora Bay is nice and there are lot of water sports to be tried. Service: Everyone at the resort is so friendly and helpful. Compared to other destinations they are not pushy with their sales, only ask once and they are not asking for tips either. We always left tips but never was expected or asked. Very humble people.

Beautiful Resort, lovely grounds, outstanding & friendly staff. Needs an open air, central bar / entertainment area closer to lobby for people to socialize in the evening...not many using the indoor lounge. Nice to have two beaches.. one windy, one calm. Very quiet resort. Some low music on the water sport end of beach would be nice for those who enjoy it, and still leave rest of beach for those who want no noise. Some minor aggravations in food and beverage, that could easily be fixed. Not all bars have a blender for slushy drinks...and they need to. The beach grill has great burgers, hot dogs and fish sandwiches...but only offers a big bucket of serve yourself potato chips (crisps) as a side...no fries, no salad. The buffet is lacking in that they need a nightly carvery station, and they need to add a pasta station. This resort has the potential to be a solid 4* or better, but is being let down by the food and beverage end of things. Would recommend based on property and wonderful staff, but with a caveat regarding food.

It was a lovely resort with the Atlantic ocean on one side and Mamora Bay on the other side - we had a ground floor room that had a huge deck on the Atlantic side - loved being able to walk right out onto the beach and see the sunrise every morning - the resort and area is hilly understandably and for a few in our group that have some mobility issues the resort staff are able to pick you up and drop you off anywhere around the resort in their golf carts - food was fantastic (gained 6pds LOL) Overall it was a wonderful time in Antigua and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Great to have the best of both beaches. On the ocean and on Mamora Bay. Live music every evening, missed live shows from other trips. On Mamora Bay lots of water activities to endeavour. Meals were great, including one restaurant having various theme nights.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our week at St. James Club. We particularly enjoyed Mamora Bay. It was great for swimming and water sports. Warm and always very calm near the shore and only a little choppy on windy days out in the middle. The only negative to the bay was the water was not crystal clear. Not very good for snorkling. The beach had nice soft white sand. This is a fairly quiet resort. Not a lot of partygoers. No swim-up bars and foam parties. Our room was a walkout to the ocean. Very functional, but a bit dated. There was a large gym with a lot of equipment. Very comfortable for a good workout. The 4 tennis courts looked to be in good condition. Nice size resort. Not too big to walk around. We had a 5 minute walk to the bay and the same to the main lobby. If you wanted a shuttle in a golf cart, it was readily available. There are some mid size slopes you have to navigate to walk around the resort. The food was very good. I had one of the best steaks I have had anywhere. The staff were nice people and looked after us very well. It was nice, for us, that english is the main language spoken by all staff. We did a side trip, 10 minutes by taxi, to English Harbour. Nice historical spot with lots to see.

We went to celebrate our 50 th wedding anniversary. Upon arrival we found a bottle of champagne and two glasses. The room was right on the beach.! There was a little issue with the sliding door - next day fixed. The day after another bottle of champagne with an apology note from manager for the inconvenience, very much appreciated. The ground were very well kept and beautiful layed out. Beach towels were nice and large. The foods : breakfast - lunch -dinners very good and great variety. We really enjoyed our stay !

We have now been 4 times to this resort, there was no recognition of this. There have been some updates since last there, the gym is excellent as well as some of the activities like the early morning walks. They have added some very nice bands for after dinner dancing but they end at 10pm which is a little early. The beach party was excellent.

The resort was very well laid out with as much or as little as you want to do. Food was really good and the people were extremely friendly. Snorkelling trip off the beach was well worth it for $15USD, Piccolo Mondos and the Tranquility Spa were well worth the splurge.

The St. James Club in Antigua is a great resort. Food, beach, and activities are excellent. No need to reserve umbrellas at the beach early in the morning like other all-inclusives. The only negative comment I have is that the rooms need to be upgraded...but on the positive side the beds are comfortable and the air conditioning is good. I would recommend this resort.

We had an amazing time at this resort. The grounds are beautiful, the food was great, they had good selection in red and white wine, as well, the people there were wonderful, and very accommodating. The service was exceptional... Having access to 2 beaches was great, it's such a laid back atmosphere, not once did you feel crowded, and you didn't have to rush out early in the morning to get a nice lounge chair under a straw umbrella as there was plenty on site available. We will definitely be going back there.

Overall the resort was very nice. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We had a beach/ocean front room which had a great view of the ocean and steps to the beach :-). The room was clean and spacious. The beaches were beautiful. The food was fine. There was lots of variety. Quality was ok. The resort had lots of activities. We arrived on a Wednesday but didn't receive a list of all the activities until the Saturday, so we missed some activities we wished we had known about earlier. The pools were fine. The website advertises six pools, but unless you are in the royal suites, you actually have access to only two pools (Reef and Coco's). Two of the pools, including the waterfall pool, can be accessed only if you are in the royal suites. One of the six pools is a children's pool. Wifi was very up-and-down and since we were using it only in the common areas, was a bit frustrating. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Beautiful well kept grounds, pride is taken care throughout the property, cocoa beach was not swimmable due to high winds but pretty to look at, mamora beach was nice but water was more lake like. Service was hit and miss in the cocoa beach restaurant and rainbow restaurant. We ate mostly at the dockside restaurant where service was more friendly. Entertainment every night was very good. Rooms were nice and clean, with amazing views as we were on the beachfront.

Just got back on Oct 22 from St James Club in Antigua. What a awesome vacation. We celebrated our 35 Wedding Anniversary with friends. We stayed in beach front rooms 341. When we got to our room there was a bottle of champagne with two glass. The air conditioner was not working well. We advised front desk. The had someone come to the room to take look. He made it little cooler. The next day we got new parts and the air conditioner worked great. The people there are very friendly and always willing and happy to help you out with smile on their faces. The resort is big and beautiful. I loved having two beaches to relax. Having 6 pools was also nice. You could go to different pools at anytime of the day. I loved the food always good things to eat. I would recommend this resort. I will return to St. James to see new friends that we made there.I want to say hi to Jason our taxi driver what a awesome guy. Also I want to thank Bev Johnston from tripcentral.ca she was very helpful in booking this great trip.

This resort is just beautiful. Two beaches to chose from. Very nice clean rooms. Food was excellent and the Staff was just fabulous. We will go back there again soon. Will recommend this resort to everyone.

The resort seems large on the map but was a very nice size. Easy walk around area. Features two beaches which were both very different. One beach on the Atlantic was truly an ocean beach and the other on Mamora Beach side felt like a lake beach. The rooms were slightly dated but large. The food fresh and flavourful and was above average for the variety. We opted often for the buffet cause it was good. The majority of staff were friendly, accommodating and personable. We liked Priscilla, Roan and Cordell very much.

beautiful resort...beaches, rooms, food, layout excellent! the staff were incredible...never had an experience with the staff anywhere like this resort....management team always out and around the resort and helping make everyone's vacation special...we did Jeep tour and sunset cruise...both great experiences...our new favorite destination!

In a word, St. James Club is phenomenal. Our oceanview balcony was breathtaking, the food was creative and buffet offerings rotated in theme and variety, the beach was stunning, the staff friendly and helpful, the resort clean and spacious, the entertainment solid and interesting, the grounds well kept, the insect spraying and lack of Zika relieving, the sunrises and sunsets glorious. A few additional beach towel stations, an espresso machine, a beach bar on the ocean side (bless the golf cart driver who brought around drinks), windsurfing permitted on the ocean side, and a touch more Calypso Jim would be my only improvement suggestions. We'd return in a heartbeat.

We got married and brought a group of 64 with us to the hotel. The hotel staff were very pleasant and accommodating to our large group. The beaches and grounds were just breathtaking and gave a very different vibe than your typical resort. You did not have to reserve or fight for beach chairs - even at full occupancy! The water and beaches were gorgeous and you can snorkel right off the shore with ease! Restaurants and food was delicious - wedding - Paul the wedding co-ordinator did an amazing job but she really needs an assistant - she is very overworked!! The wedding was amazing and the vacation was so much fun - we will definitely be back to this resort in the future! :)

The beaches and hotel were beautiful. There was an ocean-side beach and a bay-side beach both part of the resort with bars and restaurants nearby. Lots of lounge chairs at the beaches and the 5 different pools. The grounds were immaculate. The weather perfect and the people there were so friendly and helpful. What a truly amazing place. We loved it!

Gorgeous setting and meticulous grounds. Very relaxing atmosphere and delicious food. The pool aerobics was amazing and fun, so hat's off to each and every instructor! Exercise room excellent as well as the tennis courts! Your maintenance staff very hard working and professional, from grounds workers to maid service, awesome. Special mention to restaurant staff who were wonderful, professional and fun to be around, Matarah, all the ladies at Piccolo Mondo, especially Priscilla's(bartender at Docksider) Mom (can't remember her name!) and Sandeep at Coco's who was so pleasant to chat with and very professional. Your beverage cart driver who is best known as "Celo" , is so amazing and hard working to please guests, hats off to you!! Would love to come back xoxo

This resort was really nice. Great food and beverages, two beaches to choose from lots of beach chairs, no getting up early to get your chair!!!. Staff were very friendly and helpful! Very Clean and well kept.

We really enjoyed the St James Club resort. I would rate the food an 8 out of 10, the nicest part being there was a wide variety of choice. We did have a couple of no so good meals, and we're offered substitutions in those cases. My favourite thing about the resort was the fact that we never had a problem finding a good spot by any of the pools or beaches (whether we wanted sun or shade) again, there was lots of choice. We stayed in the Royal Suites and the room was quite spacious and very clean. However, I wasn't very fond of our bed (too soft and lumpy). I would highly recommend a suite on the top floor for a better view. The staff were extremely friendly and service oriented for the most part - but there were a few grumpy ones. The drink quality was good and the mixed drinks were OK to very good depending on the bartender. The water sports staff were outstanding and the condition of of water sports equipment was very good. Overall the value and variety were what made this resort a very good trip. I would rate 5 stars if the mattresses were upgraded and the stocked some better single malts.

This place is on a wonderful bay. Food was good. Staff was friendly. Weather was great. Swimming pools are small put warm. Nothing fancy about house keeping if you are looking for that extra flare of flowers and towel animals on your bed. Room fridge is not stocked which would of been nice for a drink on the balcony. Nice tennis courts if you play. Really the only bad thing I would have to say is the beer. If you're going down south and that's all you drink better bring your own. You have about 2 mins to drink it when it's cold, after that best to just leave it.

Flight, Transfers and Check-in were seamless. Very good Staff at St. James Club - all of them! Food was excellent, beaches & pools were not crowded. This place was top notch - will definitely return! Two beach choices - calm water in the bay; good snorkelling on the Atlantic side. Never had to try to find a lounge chair on either beach, or at the pools - plenty were available. Restaurants were very good; - a-la-carte at Rainbow Garden was fantastic! Buffet's also very good. Rooms rated as average only because they are a little dated. beds were comfortable, but mattresses are showing signs of age. We took a premium room - excellent view of the ocean. We had a ground floor room and were pleasantly surprised that it was never damp (we typically find ground floors to be damp). Even saw the owner tending to a few chores from time to time.

We had an amazing time at this resort, and would highly recommend it. We can't think of a single fault. The staff were amazing, so friendly and accommodating. The resort is older, but very well maintained. The buffet & restaurants had a great selection for everyone. There were two beaches, one which was very windy, and great for cooling off on those hot sunny Antigua days. The other was calmer and more sheltered which had many water activities such as paddle boats, kayaks, etc. There was always a band playing in the evening at one of the restaurants or in the courtyard near the lobby. The evenings are quiet after 10:00pm, so if you are looking for a resort with abundant night life this is probably not for you. For us, we were there for the sun & relaxation, so after a day at the pool or beach we were ready to retire to our room for the night. We did rent a car, and travelled the island one day which was lots of fun & extremely safe. We visited St.John's for shopping, Nelson's Dockyard, Shirley Heights for the steel band & sunset, as well as many of the beautiful beaches for snorkelling. St. James Club is a wonderful place to put your feet up and enjoy the ocean breezes, the fine food, and beautiful grounds. The staff are very friendly and usually on top of their jobs. The variety of music adds to your relaxing holiday without being too loud. I would go back, without a doubt.

The layout of this spacious resort with its buildings and numerous pools, between two beaches on a landscaped peninsula, is unique and very beautiful. There are lots of free water-sports to engage in, on the sheltered bay. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience with very good food and service. The only thing that I would say to be improved would be the gardening aspect of the resort. I would go back again for sure. The pic that is in the above left is Mamora bay and is the best. The Atlantic side is well, not that great and not that long of a beach. In Antigua they say that they have 365 beaches. I would say that that may be the case but, a lot of them are small . Again, overall the St. James Club was an excellent resort and I would not hesitate to return to Antigua or to any other island that this chain has a resort in.

The beaches, food, and drinks were great at St James. Snorkelling was lovely through the water sports folks right from Marmora Bay. Loved the fact that there were always lounge chairs available at the beach and pool no matter what time you went. Water sports included in the all inclusive were the best I've ever experienced in a holiday package. Used the kayaks, staff were always helpful with instructions for guests, particularly when sailing the hobie cats. Although we didn't spend much time in our room, that was the one disappointing part of our stay. Had several maintenance issues with bathroom plumbing, sliding door to balcony was so stiff to open it took two of us to open it. We stayed in the Bougainvillea rooms closest to reception and the guests in this section all had the same comments - rooms definitely needed renovation and an update. Housekeeping also were slow to make up rooms and often bathroom supplies were not replenished. Calls for towels or missing Kleenex were not acted upon so we had to go looking ourselves in the housekeeping supply room at the end of the hall. Despite these inconveniences, we had a fabulous time and the other positives made up for it.

We stayed Dec 2014 for 7 days in St.James. Very nice facility and room is much better for a 4 star resort compare with other similar class resort in Caribbean island we'd been stayed. There are two beaches at the resort. one facing Atlantic which was windy with big waves. The other one faces Mamora Bay and water is calm. The resort offer a lot of water sports at this side of beach. Food is Ok for a All-Inclusive resort. Service need improve. Overall we had a great vacation

Had a wonderful week at the St. James Club in November. Found it to be a very charming resort in a beautiful setting between the two beaches & with lovely vegitation etc. The staff were excellent, very friendly & attentive right from the front desk, to porters, wait staff, water sports crew etc. Food was good but limited wine selections. Particularly enjoyed the food and ambiance at Picolo Mondo, It is well worth paying the upcharge to dine there. Docksiders buffet left something to be desired, but it is a nice setting on the water, with a nice little gathering bar. We stayed in the Royal Suites & our accommodation was fabulous. Quite spacious, clean & everything you could possibly need in the rooms. Also perfectly located between beach, pools, lobby etc. All in all a great vacation, would definitely return & definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed our experience at the SJC. The people were the nicest we've ever met on any holiday. The resort and beaches were clean. Food was very good. Would be nice to have a few more restaurants. The water sports employees were excellent.. The only negative thing was how long it took at the airport, due to the size of the airport. We were two hours from the time we left the plane to the time we got into a taxi. The line up was extremely slow.

St. James Club is advertised as a four plus star hotel. Unfortunately, it should be a 2.5 star hotel. The food, beach, condition of the hotel, service and lack of entertainment were all disappointing.

The food, hotel team, and beaches were AMAZING! We requested Antigen food and it was fantastic. The hotel team was so excited that we wanted it! We did upgrade to a beach front room because the club room looked like a scrubbed down third world crime scene - totally worth it! :)

This was our second visit to this resort and of course this provides a opportunity to compare with the previous visit.It is still our best Caribbean experience! I dont think we can say we have ever had a perfect experience, and I am sure by strict definition we never will.However this is very close.The grounds are maintained extremely well and remember this is a 110 acre resort, so no small feat! We have stayed in the Royal Suites on both occasions and as always are cleaned to high standard and are very comfortable and spacious. Even though it is just our second visit, it was so nice to be remembered by numerous staff members and welcomed back.The staff of St.James Club are the special asset of this resort ! We have always had good experiences with our interactions with the staff. Last year I rated St.James Club a 5, however this year we noticed a drop in the quality of food and it also appears they are limiting the number of seatings in the Rainbow Garden and Piccolo Mondo. This appears to be a effort to steer people to the buffet at the Docksider . The Docksider does provide a quite good buffet , however with the increased volume of guests it does feel as though you are being rushed. We are all on holiday and we feel enough of that at home. The Rainbow Garden is a much more relaxed atmosphere and the meal options and quality is noticable superior. Hopefully these comments are read by the management team. Profit margins are certainly important, however first time guests may not be enchanted with St.James club as we were and repeat guests may investigate other options in the Caribbean.

We are a family of 4 with 2 teenaged boys and just returned from SJC, staying March 16th to 23rd, 2013. Our room was a 2 bedroom villa on the hill, which some would say was a bit far from things but we enjoyed the walk to and from the main building and the extra exercise helped (somewhat) with all the treats and drinks we enjoyed a bit too much :). The villa was fairly well appointed with a kitchen stocked with enough plates, cutlery, glasses, pots and pans etc for 6 people. 2 bedrooms downstairs - 1 with king bed and a bathroom with a soaker tub, and 1 with twin beds with a 3 piece bathroom (large shower, beware not putting the curtain completely in the shower - my son caused a smal flood into the hall). There is also a sofa bed upstairs in the living room so the villa will technically hold 6 people. Lots of room for all and it was lovely having a separate sitting area with a dining table to play cards at night. Our only complaint is that the twin beds are not large and 2 teenagers being 5' 9'' each found them a tad bit short (they suffered through it bravely). My youngest enjoyed the kayaks, peddle boats and paddle boards and there were also hobi cats and sailboards available at the watersports. The bay is calm and a great place to try these water activities out if you aren't sure of your abilities. We tracked down the pool tables (2) mentioned in another post - they are in a "shelter" down by the bayside beach along with a ping pong table. We spent every day playing pool, though be warned the tables are NOT level which makes for an interesting game when the ball curves when not expected. Mosquito repellent is also a suggestion for the "shelter" as they seem to hang around the pool tables. We didn't encounter mosquitos anywhere else in those numbers (apparently there is fogging going on but we didn't see any trucks). There are actually 6 pools on the property, however 1 is reserved for Royal Suites guests and 2 are adult only pools. The pools are smaller, not like the big ones that you will find in Mexico but they do the trick when it is hot and you want a dip. Shade is at a premium around the pools however. It was lovely to have 2 different beaches to choose from - the bay, HOT beach, and the ocean, WINDY beach. We noticed as it got hotter and calmer as the week went on that more people migrated to the windy beach. Lots of palm trees and several palapas for shade - no need to save loungers at 6:30 in the morning at this resort. The staff was excellent, smiling and pleasant and always wanting to ensure you are having a good time. There was the odd "grumpy Gus" but that is to be expected. Now for the food. I have yet to find a resort that has fabulous food (or else I'm not willing to pay enough money to go to said resort) but SJC food was good overall. Lots of food available, and the wait staff would make changes to the dish you ordered if you didn't like certain ingredients. Coco's was an airy restaurant by the windy beach that served a breakfast buffet, and what I called a "pub grub" menu all day from 11 to 11, some specials at dinner. Salads, Hamburgers, Ribs, Steak etc. Rainbow Garden served breakfast buffet along with a la carte (oatmeal, eggs benny etc), a lunch buffet with lots of choice and a la carte (hamburgers, BLTs, sandwiches etc), and a la carte dinner that you had to reserve the day before. Docksiders was only open for dinner and was buffet only, with themes every evening. Piccolo Mondo was open for dinner only with reservations, and there is a surcharge of $35 per person to eat there if you are on AI. I kept track of the dinner options that we encountered - they might change but here they are: Docksiders Rainbow Garden Saturday - TexMex Sunday - Asian/Chinese Monday - Italian Tuesday - International Wednesday - Seafood Thai Thursday - BBQ night Friday - French Japanese/Chinese We enjoyed tea time every afternoon at 4pm - scones (the go quick so get there early), sandwiches and cake along with tea, iced tea and coffee. For those who enjoy casual clothing on holidays you will be happy to hear that slacks/trousers/pants were NOT required for dinner anywhere except Piccolo Mondo but collared shirts (polos work fine) and decent shorts (no swim trunks) with sandals (not flip flops) were required. We once again went home with 2 suitcases full of clean clothing as we didn't need all the dress up options. Would we return - absolutely! Will we - not sure, there might be a different location calling to us the next time we are looking to escape the snow and cold.

The ST James Club was fantastic, The dining was great lots of good food and the service was excellent. All staff were very friendly and when you needed a lift anywhere it only took a few minutes. Resort was very clean. No hesitation to go again.

Awesome rooms, food, and staff. 4th resort we've been at in the the last 4 years, this was definitely the best. I had to pinch myself every morning just to be sure I wasn't dreaming. Hi to Wane (sic), Sean, and Alfred!
