Booked and paid in FULL in June/July---get to resort, wrong room. Hotel did take care of that. They the day to fly home get 4 different delay messages then flight cancelation --Next day get notice of flight at 9PM then 3-4 other "delay" messages and at one point had us flying to Toronto then flip to Ottawa . Had to Pay $100 for baggage as the fees already paid referred to cancelled flight ?? The extra we paid to pick seats ($47-i think) again referred to the cancelled flight , so seats moved twice. Then an extra $52 for parking. Contact West Jet which send a email saying "if booked through an agency THEY must put in claim for disruption for "passengers rights" Contact Trip Central and get told, sorry we can do nothing contact West Jet Other than that GREAT TRIP and would recommend this resort to anybody--they treat you amazing. Food was great---beach is amazing

I have been to this resort at least 5 or 6 times .This most recent visit was truly a disappointment. Many of the regular staff are now gone leaving many newer , younger staff members who in my opinion have missed the boat with providing great customer service and maybe going out of their way to smile .They stopped serving French fries at the 24 hour bar .No new growth in the choices of meals at the buffet and the entertainment is less then desirable. The rooms require some serious renovations and just basic maintenance. It seems to me they are open just to be open....unlike other visits to this resort.

Tryp was our first visit to Cuba 16 years ago. Many changes over the years, but the staff is always warm, welcoming and friendly. The grounds are always manicured. The pool is always clean and inviting. The beach is fantastic. The food selection has taken a hit over the years, but there is always something tasty to be found. The resort partner (I believe it is Spain) has ruined the buffet cutting it down to half the size.....the atmosphere has suffered and the A/C no longer does the job. Again, staff go the extra mileage, so this shortfall is minor. Insect in all parts of Cuba seem to be more of a problem in the past, probably due to the ongoing shortages in the country. Rooms are dated (resort is 40 years old) but they are kept very clean and everything was in working order.The animation team works hard to keep things fun at the pool in the afternoon. Other choices for meals are 4 ala carts (only one open per night right now) Cuban, International, Italian and Chinese. We managed to hit them all this visit and the food was good considering the cost of the vacay. The new beach grill is a relaxing choice for lunch. Cuba is not for everyone, but if you aren't overly picky, the beach, the pool, and especially the service will chilax you.Shout out to Osmany at the buffet grill, Erlin at the swim up bar, William, at the Buffet, Adrianna at the front desk, Willy and Ricardo at the new Beach Grill!!

This was our second trip to Tryp. We really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, beautiful beach, and lively pool. The staff are kind and considerate. There was no shortage of food or drink, and the resort is very well taken care of

The staff was amazing and friendly. The rooms & grounds were very clean. The rooms are dated but everything worked. Maintenance crew was very quick if anyone needed anything fixed. A nice close walk from the pool or room to the ocean. The sand on the beach was beautiful and lots of chairs with shade is provided. Snack bar was fast to get a bite to eat. The Italian dinner was delicious and insanely filling.

The hotel was great! The rooms were dated but clean! The dining was great and the staff were terrific. We had a great time staying here and would definitely come back again. It would have been nice to see the martini bar open because I loved the drinks that were served the first time we visited Tryp Cao Coco.

Since Tryp needed to close to repair air conditioning issues, we ended up at Melia Jardines del Rey. The bright light there is the Air Transat rep, Yamin. She was fantastic, solving SO many problems and quickly. She deserves a raise and a commendation. The hotel staff are lovely, fun, and welcoming, typical of Cuban hospitality. Cuba may have issues but regardless of their problems, they are friendly, warm and decent human beings, who work long hours, six days a week. They travel by workers bus at least one to two hours each way. And we complain!!

Tryp Cayo Coco. love this place. some may think it's quiet but it is what you make of it. Cuba is notorious for shortages but I've yet to experience anything serious. i had a morning of no water, but it was back by noon. 5th time there. always traveling with family and friends, some we met there previously. No single supplement in Dec. back again this year! I bring my guitar.

We have been coming to Tryp Cayo Coco resort for few times now and we are always satisfied. Staff are really respectful, kind and always have a smile on their faces. We always feel welcome and remember us from our previous visit. I never had an issue with food- there are soooo many selections. The best part is lobster in the buffet for dinner, the beef that is soooo tender which I indulge, fresh bake pizza for my children and it is actually good, so much type of pasta options, fish, pork, beef grill and lots more. I can eat crispy fried fish everyday ??. Try ice coffee- the way they make it is better than Starbucks.? The beach is paradise, went to Pilar beach as well and we can see fishes swimming. Crystal clear water and calm -My family and I had fun trying to catch them but faster than us, lol. Looking forward to go back next year. Thanks to all the staff!!!

I have been at Tryp four times and I just fell in love with beautiful white sand and calm ocean. Same beach as Aruba or Antiqua for a fraction of the price. Also, amazing people working very hard and appreciate your presence there. Food is actually great in the restaurants . But, people working there are the BEST. I will always come back here, it is a resort I trust not to disappoint.

first I and my wife stayed at the Tryp 22years ago and the resort is as beautiful as I remember,this time I returned on my own as my wife has passed and must say all the employees treated me with such kindness some I will mention Yainielys,Yilena, Ariel, Ysbany and William and all the front office staff.I will also thank all the hard- working staff in the food services they always have a smile and are eager to make your stay a pleasant one as far as the food there is always something to eat port chicken fish and fresh fruit and the best coffee you will not go hungry.Now the beach is beautiful,swimming pools clean and lots of lungs-chairs the rooms I had ocean view a great I will be returning to this beautiful resort I want to mention the cleaning staff they are alway keeping the common areas clean thank to all see you soon ps take a roll of toilet paper just in case they run short also take US dollars if you can the banks don,t take our coins

I have been many times to this resort the staff are wonderful go out of there way for you best beach in the world rooms are old but clean food I was always able to find something I liked remember it's Cuba and you get what you pay for I will be returning thank you tryp

Food was surprisingly good, beach was incredible. Some of the staff seemed a bit rude at times, mainly at the lobby bar. Overall great place for a relaxing vacation. If you are a smoker I’d highly recommend bringing enough for the trip. There’s no vaping in Cuba and the store rarely had any for sale except menthols.

They have made some improvements to the resort since covid. They are currently renovating the rooms. The pool was nice and it was clean. The beach is second to none and the ocean is so clean and clear. It helps that it is warm for people like me who do not like cold water. The food was good and plentiful. No shortages. The 24 hour snack bar was finally open and the fries were amazing! Bring your own k!etchup and you wouldnt know you were eating in cuba There was only one negative that we had. One night during the entertainment, there was a man there who was drunk and he was pushing himself on the lady running the entertainment. He was very persistand and was getting worse as time went on. She made it clear she did not want him to bother her and at one point she was in tears. Nobody stepped in to help even though she was trying to hide from him in the cigar shop and the main lobby. My son went up to the front desk and said the man was sexually assaulting her and asked them to stop him. They told security,, but they didnot help the situation. They were laughing with him and at one point they were standing beside her and this man went up and grabbed her from behind and started grinding on her. SECURITY DID NOTHING AT ALL and they were only about 2 feet away from her. They saw the whole thing. I went to front desk and said if they did not stop him I was leaving a bad review and would not be staying there again. Still nothing happened. He even went and sat at a table right were she had to work from. The lady in charge of the entertainment dancers finally came and tried to push him and his wife away from the lobby area but they just returned and started dancing along side the show dancers. Eventually, about 45 to 60 minutes later a man in jeans and dress shirt finally came and made them leave. He looked to be a main manager of the hotel. They should have, at the very least, escorted him to his room but instead they chose to do nothing and let him be. I felt so bad for the poor lady. She is one of the hotel employees yet they did nothing to protect her from this predator. He had no intention of leaving her alone. It was quite scary to watch. I did not feel safe with him there because he and his wife were right back at it the next day. If this is how TRYP treats their employees I cant imagine what they would have done if it was a guest. I love Tryp, and have been there numerous times, but Im not confident I will be back unfortunately.

Was at the tryp 30 till may 7th was my 40 time there the staff are so caring and helpfull no shortage s in food or drinks my room was good clean everyday and of course the best beach lots of chairs I would recommend this resort 15 minutes from the airport to thankyou to all staff see you soon

We had an excellent week at Tryp! This was our first time to Cuba and we definitely will be back. The staff at Tryp were wonderful and welcoming. The beach is beautiful with white sand and turquoise waters. Rooms were clean, staff was very attentive. The resort is in the process of renovation, lots of improvements happening. Can't wait to see it finished. We had plenty of food and drinks never ran out of anything. Overall great experience!!

Tryp has always been a favourite Cuban destination of ours. We've been there about 10 times and it never disappoints. Granted over the years, hurricanes and covid knocked the wind out of the sails...but the staff has always been welcoming. The resort is coming back to the way it was years ago....no little task given the times. This visit we see a new beach restaurant underway, the stage is being rebuilt, plans for poolside upgrades. Lobby upgrades underway. New sails replace the beautiful roof that was blown away years ago. Entertainment staff was spot on, high energy and fun. Erlin at the swim up bar was amazing, friendly, and a hard worker. Buffet staff attentive, friendly and fun, our regular Belkis even went out of her way to bake a cake for my husband. Midiala warm and friendly. Buffet was clean and fully stocked. No shortages here. Bars were fully stocked, again NO SHORTAGES of anything. Beaches clean, pool clean, grounds clean. Our room was clean and updated. Anything that was wrong (mini fridge didn't work) was fixed immediately. Alexander and Juan at the ala carts were very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend Tryp.

The Tryp is a great resort! The staff are absolutely amazing which is a big part of what makes this place so great! The beach is absolutely beautiful! Overall the place is pretty clean. Wasn’t too busy either. Good entertainment at night as well.

I have been coming to this resort for the past 7-8 years. Its a beautiful resort and the staff is what makes me keep returning. This year however, my husband came with me and had a very expensive Underarmor shirt stolen from the lobby bar. I also had by beach towels and clips stolen off my chaise lounges by the pool, which in turn I had to pay for them at $20 a piece. Every year I have had a bottle of rum left in my room as a repeat customer. Not this year and upon inquiring was told they no longer due this. I love Cayo Coco and may have to try a different resort next year.

The rooms were kept spotless. The food was delicious; lots of variety; got repetitive by the end, but I didn't have to make it. The people were friendly and kind. The beach was beautiful with lots of cabanas for everyone. I wish there were bottled or canned beer, not just draft. Bring a thermal mug!

I have spent a great week in Tryp Cayo Coco. It is a beatutiful place. It is an older resort, but very clean and the staff is amazing! The food was great, different, but lots of choices for everyone. The dolphinario is about half an hour bus ride from there and I strongly recommend it. Every night different type of entertainment was provided which was fun!

I have been to this resort 8 times now. I find even though this place is a little old the staff work hard at keeping it clean and tidy . they have in the recent past installed new lighting around the pool , which look amazing !. The recently installed roof over the patio was a much needed, well liked improvement . THe new teak walkways to beach (3) are a welcome addition and make the trip to the beach easier. The staff are very friendly and work hard to solve any issues that arise . There was always a wide selection of food choices to pick from . I was always eating the fresh fruit and delicious smoothies served . Rooms are cleaned and made up daily , the maids are very personable and friendly . thanks Juaquin and Sergio for help and good conversations ! I like this place and will return many more tomes .

Such an amazing place. Everything close to hand. Clean and well maintained. So much food, never left feeling hungry! Amazing view, incredible people. I would recommend this resort to everyone. Always feel so welcomed.

I just got home from my 5 days at Tryp Cayo Coco. I can’t wait to book my next trip. The people, the beaches, the vibes, are just a few of my favourite things when visiting Cuba. No shortages while I was there except white wine. The drinks were tasty and the coffee was the best I have ever had. There was always a variety of different things at the Buffett, and the A La carte was delicious. My room was clean and I felt very safe. I will return in a heartbeat

Although this hotel is showing some signs of ageing ongoing efforts are being made to maintain its appearance as well as its structural integrity. Continuous hot humid weather as well as frequent and violent storms cause havoc to buildings and vegetation but the people of Cuba stoically clear the debris, replant the lost flora, repaint their buildings and rehang their welcome signs. We did not experience lack of water nor electricity as often happens on Caribbean resorts and there was no lack of food. When money becomes available some should be allocated to improving showerheads and faucets. Unfortunately there were some isolated pockets of stagnant water near the snack bar and the main restaurant which caused unpleasant odors and which undoubtedly added to the overabundance of ravenous mosquitos. The beach and ocean are splendid. The grounds are well maintained and safe and as always the personnel was like family. The free WiFi was .such appreciated.

Tryp was exactly what I needed! I had no idea what to expect and I was overwhelmed by the friendliest staff who went out of their way to make sure our stay was excellent and comfortable. So much food and a very wide variety. Chefs prepared such amazing meals for us and the wait staff, bartenders made sure we never went without. Pool was beautiful and so clean with the ocean just over the bridge.

Great location, friendly staff, food selection was excellent considering what Cuba is undergoing. Rooms were cleaned and serviced everyday. Beach was phenomenal- early in season so crowds were at a minimum. Would go back in a heart beat!

Some parts of the resort have just been renovated buffet has air conditioning know all new lobby furniture alot of the hotel has been painted alot of hot water for showers food was ok remember this is Cuba not Canada for food the staff go out of there way to make you happy and best beach with lots of chairs and shade thankyou to all the staff you are family will return soon

The staff are great, welcoming, respectful, treat you like a family. The beach is the best for sure. Food is great, I can't complain. There is a buffet and a la carte. The show every night is fantastic! The dancers are really skillful. Young coconut is not in the menu but the staff are nice staff to get some for me- happy dance for me!

We’ve been here about 8 times now. Glad there was only a few people brainwashed enough to still wear a mask. That’s why I haven’t travelled in 3 years. Staff were amazing as always with what they have to work with. I don’t dwell on the lil things they might run out of 1st time ever in all of my Cuba trips there was no spearmint leaves at all for Mojitos. Tried all 5 alacart restaurants and enjoyed it. Nice mixture. The only negative thing I was surprised was the huge cockroaches in our room and running around in plain sight in the buffet. We will go back but hope they get infestation under control a little

Pools and beach were amazing! There were a lot of cabanas and lounge chairs everywhere you went. You didn't have to save chairs at 6 am with your flip flops. We got fresh pool/beach towels a couple times which was nice after they get sandy. There was great entertainment each night, you can always get a drink and something to eat 24 hours a day. The food is about what you'd expect, not the place for picky eaters, but you could always get bread and "eggs your way' at breakfast. Bring ketchup and peanut butter if you like them. There is no bacon or sausage for breakfast if that's your kind of thing. But there were some questionable meat/fish dishes and what you'd call chili. A few days there were potatoes like hashbrowns, one day there was french toast with syrup, and they usually had crepes made fresh. Cappuccino at the lobby bar was the place to get your caffeine fix although the "coffee with milk" in the buffet area was really good too. Lunch at the beach bar was pretty good, either a cheese sandwich, a hot dog on white bread or a proper meal of either Beef, Fish or Chicken with rice/beans, yucca and stewed cabbage. Be prepared for the response "uh, maybe tomorrow" with a smile and a shrug, if you ask if they have something or when the such-and-such will be open. Nobody seems to know or they have no way of knowing if they'll get hamburgers tomorrow for example. The resort was only at about 40% capacity so we were fortunate enough to be able to book 5 a la carte dinners at the restaurants. All of which were very good, although kind of similar. At least the kids could get pizza or pasta at 3 of them. A couple of days they made Churros by the pool and fries a few other times. Those were nice treats! The resort cats were adorable and hungry, we fed them all kinds of things, their favorite were the fish sandwiches from the snack bar at night. They even ate the cucumber! Do not take a ground floor room--Roaches.... we had to switch rooms the first night because of them. No questions asked, they did it right away. Rooms are very dated, the mattresses are from the 70's probably-- gross. The sheets and towels are clean and the A/C was ice cold in the room. We lost water in the night a few times because of the rain storms, but I think the whole island was out. You get what you pay for, do not expect a 5 star resort and you'll be fine. We took a classic car to the market and back for $15, and had fresh mojitos and lemonade while we were there from one of the stands-- so good! You can also walk, it's about 10 minutes or take the bus for $5 per person. Overall, we enjoyed it and the kids did too. They had lots of events for the kids to participate in, even though there were only a handful of other kids. Really good entertainment staff! We used the resort kayaks free of charge and there were also a bunch of paddle boats and a few small catamarans available too. We brought a ring toss game for the beach and pool floaties. I just wish they had more porters to help you with your luggage instead of dragging it all over the resort looking for your building, they could deliver you in a golf cart or something. We asked for one on check out day and he arrived a few minutes early with a giant golf cart, it was perfect, but we saw lots of people schleping their luggage all over the place all week. I think you just have to ask and tip.

Once again great time at the Tryp. Glad to see familiar faces as far as staff goes. Staff is amazing, beach is amazing, resort is amazing, I had a great time, weather was perfect. I will never go to another resort as long as the Tryp is open. Only thing I found from three years ago when I was there (unfortunately had to wait til covid was over to come back) was lack of variety at the buffet at all meals. I always find something to eat but would have liked more variety. Anyway, would highly recommend this resort, and always do. Look forward to going back next year.

The rooms are a little dated but air works great very clean the grounds were kept very clean gardens were beautiful a la carts were fabulous staff was awesome all of them from the front desk to the gardeners waitresses and waiters bartenders maids entertainers all were friendly and helpful !

Tryp resort gives you what you need with excellent staff service and tried and true facilities. Customer service was excellent, al of the staff are courteous and friendly and make your stay easy and comfortable. Restaurants serve amazing foods and you can never be bored with the variety.

Clean rooms with fresh towels and water daily and plenty of tp. Nice big pool and the best beach and swimming with a lot of seating available with shade. The staff are really great, friendly and the bartender remembered us from 2017. The buffet had salad, fresh bread, cheese, turkey and always a choice of meats from the grill. There was cockroaches around the buffet the first few days but the new manager took care of it quickly. The entertainment was phenomenal! We had a great vacation

It was nice to see all the new repairs happening at Tryp. The stiff are very excited to see these changes as the resort was starting to look old. All of the sidewalks areas have been replaced with new; new lighting around the resort to accent trees and paths; new food items like great salad selection and bbq items; new eating area between pool and ocean with dancing and food. Many thanks to staff for always greeting us, answering questions and making us feel at home. Joaquin and Lucy at guest services, Steve and head DJ ( sorry for for his name) in entertainment, Robert the head chef and his servers, the dance team, who work very hard, and their director, the main bar staff for being professional all the time.

do love this place! they took a big hit to thier supply chain with Covid. unfortunate considering it has always been an issue. wonderful staff. we (6) were there dec.9-18 with 200 other guests and only one alcarte an evening was open.Tryp was definately filling up by the time we had to go home. beautiful weather. Thanks for the Bottle gift for return guests. be back in Dec.again, possibly Feb.

Staff were great and helpful with many speaking English. However, the resort is looking tired and they really need to fix the lower pond. The smell is overwhelming, and a mosquito breeding ground. They have started to fix the sidewalks along the East side of they complex, which is nice. The beach is amazing and crystal clear.

One of the safest resorts in Cuba!! I have been going there for over 10 years would not even consider going to another the Tryp Cayo Coco is an excellent place for everyone. I recently left my gold earrings on the nightstand and went off for the day only realized I didn't have my earrings n freaked ! Went back to my room nand there they were right where I left them and I want to thank Juana who cleaned my room daily for her honesty she is a super person and very much appreciated ❤️ So if your looking for an ¿ excellent hotel Tryp Cayo Coco is for you!!!!

Resort is old but rooms are very clean and the grounds are beautiful staff are the best happy to help you always myself the food was good what was served and presented good I will be returning

This resort had probably the most friendliest staff I have ever encountered… the food was poor and very limited However the al a cartes we’re very good and they gave you however much you wanted . Although I wouldn’t recommend this resort to anyone I myself would go back more prepared just because of staff and how eager they were to please you

The resort is old and needs alot of repairs but it's Cuba they do what they can. However the pool was quite dirty not sure how they clean it but the bottom had white film on it. The beach was gorgeous.The rooms were ok. Clean and comfortable.the food tasted good but not much variety. Seemed to be very little on that end and when u pay for vacation you expect good food. Snacks anytime a nice pool and a good beach. The bartenders did not really know much about making drinks except their standard strawberry daquiri and Pina colada. But the staff were very friendly and worked very hard to make sure you were taken care of. Overall experience for a first time visitor 5 out of 10.

Excellent staff make you feel like your at home always trying to help you enjoy your stay just that little bit better than the last time ! Most ppl repeat guest for a reason wouldn't ever go anywhere else thank you again tryp super fantastic vacation 😀

Tryp Hotel I had a trip booked from May 4-11/22. After 2 days we moved to another resort. We had to move rooms 3 times and even on the 3 move the floor was wet from the faulty air conditioner. The rooms are very old and in need of makeovers Food and beverages were hard to come by and what we did get wasn’t very nice. Wine wasn’t available as listed on line. Drinks were all watered down and even the booked dinners weren’t very good. The ocean was beautiful and the staff extremely nice but over all very disappointing

I will never go back to this resort. The hotel is OLD, run down, it was over run by Cuban tourists who overtook the hotel. We could not walk around, get a pop or coffee at the beach bar or lounge bar, buffet was a nightmare. The guests would step in front of us and get service first even though we had been waiting in line. They would order MASS quantities of food and not even eat it which was sickening knowing that there are people on that island that are in such poverty. My mother had her sandals stolen from the room, we were approached by three other Canadian guests at the hotel who had their cell phones and other personal belongings stolen at the beach and pool. The pool attendant saw who it was and the police were called. They searched the suspects room (who were Cuban) and some of the items were returned to the victims but the thieves were allowed to stay at the hotel until they checked out two days later. We felt completely unsafe there. The hotel manager called and invited us to a lunch which i completely regretted bcs it wasted 2.5 hours of our day and I got sick after eating the chicken. We have been to Cayo Coco four times at different resorts and I have never felt so unsafe and un welcome. I understand that the resort cannot control if other guest steal but they can train their staff to serve the guest that was standing in line first and to cut off guests that are severely inebriated. The pools were filthy, old, broken in certain areas which I can understand but this should be listed on their website to let people know what the resort REALLY looks like. It looks nothing like the pictures on your website. The rooms were disgusting, mattresses SO old and absolutely filthy. In the town of Moron, we got haggled by thugs wanting a bag of clothes in our jeep during the safari. They were asking for money. It was just sick. Yet they are wearing designer clothes that not even I have at home. I have been given a truly different perception of Cuba and I will not travel there again.

First of all O'Neill Graham from Trip Central was a great rep.to deal with. He answered all my question I had. We have been to Tryp Cayo Coco before and things have changed, but not by much. Staff was awesome to deal with from checking in, to bar staff, room services, waiters and waitress. The food was good and could easily could make a meal. The beach was amazing and the pool was very enjoyable. As for Covid we felt very safe and protected by the staff they had all protocols put in place. It is a old resort but it was a very enjoyable time.

Big Changes....are NEEDED! This resort stinks lkke a sewer because of the fetid ditch running under its lobby. This needs to addressed even the buffet reaks like a sewer. The 1st day was not bad but theb the locals moved in.....the real guests(Canadians) got garbage for food and any real liquor came off the shelves. Beer shortages everyday the locals were there. Lots of " we're sorry senor " but nothing to address the issues. Not ever returning to this resort. I am sure the Sunwing reps had more than enough dealing with all the guests demanding to be placed elsewhere. This was not by any way shape or form a worthwhile vacation.

As I’d previously read prior to going, the staff are generally very kind and helpful! The food was great and the views amazing! The few hiccups we encountered were that our room keys demagnetized EVERY day and randomly. As we were in building 9, it was a small trek to go grab new keys at all times of the day and night. The pool by the bar is quite gross and dirty. The nightly entertainment crew is fabulous and we enjoyed dancing afterwards with a DJ. The disco bar isn’t open and there was no cave bar experience available on the Tuesday we were there. They did run out of certain foods fairly quickly and the buffet is only open during very specific times. Grab some snacks if you think you’ll be hungry during the times they aren’t open. The à la carte dinners were great and we had one offered for every evening we were there. They also run out of certain alcohol such as vodka early in the day and don’t have mojitos :( Overall we had a good time!

We enjoyed our stay for the most part at this resort. The grounds were clean and maintenance was being done. We spent most of our time at the beach which was beautiful. When we arrived, all the ala carte’s were picked for us for the week which we were happy for. We were told that the local Cubans would be coming and that it would be busy. She wasn’t kidding. The buffet was unmanageable, I have never seen anything like it. I practically got trampled in line at one point. People reaching over my head and hollering to the poor soul serving the food. One women stepped right in front of me. I put my plate down and left because at that point I had already been in the line for 1/2 hr. The gentleman who was making toast on the grill had around 24 slices on it. One person wanted 12 slices and the other person wanted the other twelve and the server gave it to them. Again I put my plate down and left. Next day I went to get in line for an omelette. The person ahead of me ordered 6 omelettes, I couldn’t believe he wasn’t told that that is not acceptable. It took 1 hr for me to get one omelette. The Ala Carte was great and the service was phenomenal. Osmony was top notch as were the ladies who served drinks in the evening. It was just overwhelming and exceptionally loud. even in the ala Carte. We felt we should have been told in advance that this was going to happen, we would have never have booked at this time. We won’t be going back.

The hotel grounds were beautiful with the gardens, palm and coconut trees. The pathways require some work although walkable they are a safety concern. The food at the Italian, bbq grill and restaurant by ocean and Mediterranean were excellent. The staff go above and beyond to serve you. The ocean is the best beach and sand is amazing. The pools are beautiful and spacious. Plenty of lounge chairs. The rooms have been repainted but be prepared that they are not 5 star motel standards. Free internet in lobby, buffet, bar, etc. They do not take Cuban pesos. The economy is bad. They want Canadian money or American money. You can tip in coins but they can’t use them so be prepared to exchange coins for bills during your trip. 5 loonies for $5. Covid protocol states that you must wear your mask when within 2.5 meters of others not in your group. In areas serving food as long as you are sitting at your table you don’t have to wear your mask. They serve all your food even at the buffet. When the housekeeping staff clean your room they wear they mask but you are not permitted to be in the room without wearing your mask. This is done for both your and their protection. We did a rapid Covid test the day before leaving. Cost is $25 US. The exchange rate is very high.

The hotel and room was really good. No issues. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We made friends with quite a few staff there which was nice. The food was decent but I found that there wasn’t many options for breakfast, but all other meals were good.

Very old Resort it shows its age, grounds around the 3 buildings they put vacationers in were taken care of but the rest of the resort was a different story. Many, many buildings left empty resort might have had about 300-350 people the week we were there March1-8 running at 30% capacity. No toilets hardly or toilet paper, no paper towels and all the hand driers didn’t work at all. Not enough washroom on the property at all especially if your at the beach you had to come up to your room, that’s because the Beach Grill is closed and the washroom facilities were in there. Bars not opened, Bar at the quiet pool in the middle of the resort was closed permanently as well, beach grill closed permanently. Hot Tub by the main pool was drained bone dry. Bar and snack bar was never opened when it was suppose to be 10am-11pm, might have opened up at 6pm for a few hours. Husband walked the Resort every night and he said they had a Transport Truck at the back of the Resort and they were loading furniture and beds from the un-occupied rooms onto to the truck. Truly feel this Resort is having financial issues. Sad very sad, we couldn’t even get into a Specialty Restaurant because they were only opening 1(one) a night we could get Reservations the night we were flying home. If anything good came from this vacation it was the Staff & Customer Service No issues there. They were all fantastic. They work very hard to make us happy❤️❤️ Food in the Buffett was awesome so tasty and plenty. Truthfully wasn’t worth what we paid and other guests there had paid 350.00 per person less than us. Not going back there Cayo Coco is gorgeous but will choose a different Resort next time.

The staff at this resort are amazing! Naymi, Uberlandis & Yosgvany at the lobby bar are the best. They look after me year after year. Margey and Yanelis at the buffet save me my table and my juice at breakfast or my wine at lunch & dinner are already on the table when I return with my plateful of amazing food. I eat more at this resort then I eat at home. This is my third year at the Tryp and once again I will never go to another resort. My room this year was a little far away from the lobby and one of the older rooms, but beds are comfortable, and they get me into a ground floor room so I love sitting on my patio reading. We had three overcast cool days but still made the best of the holiday. My only complaint would be the maid service this year. I have always had excellent maids in my past visits, but this year she was almost non-existent. No fancy towel designs, no clean towels (even though gifts were left on the bed everyday for her). Sad that Rudy is no longer there to golf cart me to my room and pick up and my luggage up at the end of the holiday, but the service was still great. It is an easy walk to the market, which is a fun experience. I can't wait til next year to return (or hopefully before). Once again, amazing resort and the price is right.

Tryp Cayo Coco is fully restored after the Hurrican two years ago. The lobby is bright and open. The check in is fast. Our room was well appointed lots of hot water. The meal choices in the buffet are vast always chicken, pork, beef, fish. Several types of potato, and vegetable. Large assortment of desserts and ice cream. The a la carte restaurants we attended were great Cuban, International, Italian, all food and service were excellent. The staff are very friendly and professional and very accommodating. I have been to Cuba six times,to Tryp Pre and post hurrican there standards are very high, the grounds are beautifully maintained. The Ocean view is spectacular. I can not wait to return Marylou Walton

The Staff, Grounds, Room and food were all amazing. This was my 2nd time at this resort and we are already planning to go back again next year!!! One of the guests with us was 2 years old and he got sick. The doctor showed up the morning after to see how he was doing and then while walking to the buffet from the store the Manager of Guest services popped her head out the window to ask us how he was doing. Truly amazing Customer Service!

I was told that this hotel was renovated after the hurricane. Perhaps we were given a room that wasn’t renovated because i felt like I went back in time. I’ve been to this resort about 20 years ago when it was one giant hotel and I remember it to be almost the same. Bidet next to the toilet, weak water pressure, shower heads that barely worked. I’ve been to Cuba at least 15 times to various resorts and I was disappointed with the rooms. Although repetitive and the same every night, The quality of the food was surprisingly good. The staff were friendly and seemed genuine. The beach was as stunning as I remembered 20 years ago. For some reason a flock of pelicans and seagulls frequented the beach and used this as a feeding grounds. I have seen pelicans at other resorts, maybe two or three, but at this resort there were about 20 hanging out and feasting on the fish. Interesting to watch but terrifying for those who are afraid of birds. The pool was also very clean and exceeded my expectations. The representative with air transat, Jorge , was also disappointing. Appearing to be friendly and helpful at first, with his only goal to sell excursions, he was non existent afterwards and didn’t inform us of all information. For instance special dinner for repeat guests. The fact that the buffet restaurant completely shut down one evening forcing many guests to beg to go to a specialty restaurant without a reservation. The staff was accommodating and understood but the hotel and the air transat rep did a bad job of communicating this. Don’t buy cigars at this resort. The staff at the restaurants refused to give receipts for purchases. We couldn’t understand why. They only agreed to give receipts with a passport and if we purchased greater than the maximum limit allowed. The prices were much cheaper at the airport. 25 cuc compared to 34 cuc for the same box of guantanemerra cigars. Same goes for the brand name cigars. Montecristo, Romeo y Juliet etc... the hotel did not have cohibas. Wait till you get to the Jardines del ray airport. Much better selection and much lower prices. Overall I would not recommend this hotel at the price I paid. ($1,000 per person). If I got a deal for $600. -$700 I may recommend but for the same price I would rather go to cayo Santa Maria.

The grounds had beautiful gardens, pool, ocean. The rooms are outdated but clean. Our room had the view of the large pool, the ocean from the patio and out the front door we had a beautiful garden. The sidewalks are currently being repaired which is a good thing as there are a lot of holes. WE have visited other hotels in Cuba and find the food is good here - except for the beef. We had to call maintenance for a minor issue and they were there within 5 minutes. The entertainment was excellent 8 out of 9 nights we were there. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. If you require a flat surface to get around this is NOT the place for you - not wheelchair accessible.There are also renovations being done on about half the units in the resort. It is a small resort which is what we wanted. Had a great trip.

The walkways were uneven and the best to walk in bare feet. We found cockroaches in the room and others had feces come up in their bathtub. The room was tired and old. The staff however were excellent and the food was very good with some good variety.

Looks way better on pictures as it really is, in need of a lot of repairs. Tennis courts etc. in desperate need of maintenance. Very noisy evening programs till late at night. Staff very helpful and friendly.

First time in Cuba - the beach was lovely and white, water shallow, water activities a highlight and our reason for choosing this location . Staff was very friendly and service was great especially if you tip early in the week. But food very bland, underwhelming, coffee watered down “American style”. We enjoyed the double espresso at the bar instead. Ate lunch at a local restaurant in Moron and the rice/bean staple was spiced with cumin and the pork was crusted with herbs - 20 times better than at the hotel. The a la carte Cuban dinner at the hotel was the same bland food from the buffet just presented nicely. The Mediterranean menu sounded great but execution was poor - no hint of Pernod in the salmon appetizer, no hint of spice in the Turkish soup, no mustard on the beef medallions with mustard sauce. Dance club music too loud poolside and too late into the night at the theatre stage for those with young families or travelling with seniors. It echoes throughout the room buildings and even our young teens were sick of the bass beat after 2 days. Thank goodness for the quiet pool that escaped the music but there are no bathrooms nearby. Have to walk all the way back to lobby or your room. No investments in the property post hurricanes, courts look really bad but were playable, rooms in state of disrepair with doors off hinges, stained linens, tiny shower heads - even the upgraded rooms that cost more, while water fixtures and glass doors were new, had mouldy grout in shower tile, safes not working, door locks failing. We knowingly booked the 3-1/2 star property but we would rate it a 2.

We had a lot of fun, great people! The room was a little out dated, but it was still nice. We hope to go back again in the near future! I found that the employees is what makes the resort awesome. The ocean and pool are amazing, and the shows and activities were very entertaining to watch. Thank you trio central and tryp Cayo Coco

Well, it's Cuba and you don't expect a lot. The rooms are clean but dated and the a/c works well. The only negative thing was the shower head was original, water came out like a hose, and the toilet required a pail of water to flush. They are still repairing the damage from the last hurricane but it's coming along nicely from last year. Staff are great and polite, always saying Ola and wanting to engage. They loved any little gift you give them be it gloves or gum. The food choices are good but they don't rotate the selection enough. Atmosphere was great, always something to do, pools are clean and beach beautiful. Do bring bug spray as the sand fleas are voracious as well as a bottle of Benadryl.

We enjoyed our time at this resort, the staff was friendly and helpful. Great cappuccinos and mojitos at the lobby bar. Be sure to ask for bitters in your mojito or they will leave it out. Service was very good, bartenders would often bring your coffee/drinks to your table, and they would collect the dirty cups/glasses to keep the tables clean. The room was spacious, nice patio door and balcony so we could look out onto the grounds and the ocean. The front desk offered us an ocean view room at an additional cost of 10cuc per person, per night, which was annoying as members of our party were given ocean view at no additional cost. But the dunes are tall, so your view is still in the distance. We had a view of the ocean from our room, just farther away. Entertainment was great! There was music before dinner outside the lobby, a pianist one evening, a clarinet player, a Cuban band, jazz band, a professional singer. We enjoyed before dinner music every night. The dancing shows were good, lots of energy, the dancers rehearsed every afternoon for the show that night. The food was plentiful, though repetitive. There were long lineups at the grill station at meal time when they prepared omelets for breakfast, and grilled meat and fish for lunch and dinner. Lots of cheeses and desserts, pickles and olives. The hot dishes were mostly the same day to day. A pasta dish, a stewed meat, roast chicken, rice, some kind of calamari or fish. There was a smoothie station at breakfast time, a pasta station for lunch and dinner and one evening, the chef was making sushi to order. Half of the resort is closed due to Hurricane Irma's damage, and the rest of the resort had about 200+ guests. It was not crowded, we were very comfortable, no long lines for drinks etc. At full capacity, I think it would be very crowded. The mosquitos came out in the evening, but with the breeze weren't too bad. Bring bug repellent. One of the drawbacks was the pool and beach bars closed around 4pm, so you had to go to the snack bar or the lobby bar to get drink refills if you stayed on the beach or at the pool until evening. However, the distance to the bars was not too bad, as the resort is spread wide along the beach. There were bathrooms at the lobby and near the snack bar/dining room though the toilets often didn't flush. The pool bathrooms were often closed. The beach is beautiful, nice shallow sandbars, soft sand, you can walk a long way, collect sea shells. There were sun shelters along the dunes where you could stay out of the sun if you wished. The breeze kept us comfortable, kept the mosquitos away. We liked the resort, it was close to the airport, it was comfortable, food was good and service was friendly. We would visit again at the beginning or end of high season.

To begin with, there are no flamingoes. Hurricane Irma destroyed their nesting areas. Yes, there are lots of other birds, insects and wildlife. Rooms are spacious. We enjoyed our ocean view room with balcony BUT there was NO inroom coffeemaker. There was a kettle & mugs but nothing else. Had a nice deep soaker tub but no bathtub PLUG. And, no radio, limited TV channels and I never did find the elusive free pair of slippers. Just be ready to tip, tip, tip, for every question & request made & fulfilled. Next time I'll be prepared. The price was right & the games & music were great. Oh & be prepared for no wifi in your room. $1.00 Cuban per HR. In lobby area.

Hotel was visibly damaged during Hurricane Irma 2 years ago. Grounds are still being salvaged. Half of the resort was closed completely to be restored. Standing water in pond by snack bar has foul smell. Pool was nice but pool bar ran out of most alcohol each day and shut down by 5pm. We started out in building 2 in an extremely dated room - bathroom door did not shut, toilet did not flush, beds creaked terribly. We upgraded on our third day to building 6. Room was so much nicer. Service by hotel staff was wonderful - shout out to Sandro at the Snack Bar - walked my 27 year old daughter back to her room one night to avoid an obnoxious guest. Front desk staff was wonderful to deal with as well. Keep track of your beach towels, they have to be signed in and out to avoid charges at check out. We had 2 go missing from the pool area. Food is what it is in Cuba...you don't go to Cuba for the food lol. Frank, a nighttime security guard is to be avoided. Extremely inappropriate comments and propositions were made to some of the younger girls in our group. Beautiful beach! Beach bar was very small and consistently ran out of stock. Nightly entertainment was fantastic. AC worked very well in the rooms. No spa on site. Not all A La Carte Restaurants were open and the ones that were, were fully booked every day. We chose this resort as there was a group we were traveling with that was already booked. Won't visit again.

When I checked in they put me in building 4 , I requested building 2 , but none the less they advised me I can stay in building 4 for 2 days and then move to building 2 , as I was there for 2 weeks , I agreed , when I got to my room in Building 4 , there was no phone ( security, emergency issue ) there was no fridge , and tons of ants in the wash room , as I was only in there for 2 days decided to suck it up , when I moved to building 2 , I did tell the front desk about my concerns , building 2 was a good room , the food was good no real issues there , service was good , I have been to the tryp now 3 times and I would go back .

this my second time at this resort , great food , great shows at night , the only issue was had no hot water for 2 days but not really a problem , if your looking to just relax and chill this is a great spot .

We had a great time at this resort - not our first time to Cuba but our first to the Cayo Coco area. It's a great area to just relax for the week as there's not much off-resort other than the usual excursions and the market a 10 minute walk away, although Steve and the rest of the entertainment team really keeps it lively on resort anyways! Check-In: We arrived later in the evening (9pm) and were checked in immediately...it was fast and very friendly service, and they even told us exactly where to go for food right away. We exchanged our $ at check-in and got a better rate than at the airport. Rooms: We were in Block 5 with an ocean view, 2nd floor room. The room itself was dated (as we expected) but everything worked fine except for one electrical outlet (but who cares?) The AC was ice-cold, which we appreciated as the week we were there was exceptionally hot - it got up to 43 degrees one day with the humidity - so it was a nice escape after spending the entire day by the pool or at the beach. We were never without hot water, the pressure was great, and the room was everything we needed it to be. Food: We never went hungry, that's for sure! For it being low season, we were actually expecting far less than we received...the buffet was exceptional. After being at numerous resorts in Cuba and the DR, this resort had one of the best buffets and a great selection comparably. We always sat in Fidel's area, he was amazing! The snack bar downstairs was good, nothing special but they did do some great little ham & cheese sandwiches. The only a la carte we went to was the Cuban, and it was simply amazing...better than some restaurants I've been to here in Canada, actually. Definitely take advantage of it! Pool & Beach: We spent the entire first day at the beach, the water was crystal clear with no seaweed to be seen. The bali beds are a great touch! One suggestion - bring a large beach blanket and some dollar-store clips to lay over the top for full shade, otherwise you'll get some of the sun as the shades don't cover the entire tops. Lots of beach loungers available always, and the beach was massive compared to the pictures I've seen. Towards the end of the week it was red-flagged due to the high winds, and the heavy waves did leave some seaweed and a 3-4 foot drop on the beach, but it was still beautiful! The pool always had tons of room, and it was cleaned daily. Watch for crabs though - they liked to fall in overnight and we were usually picking them out first thing in the morning, larger crabs and little hermit crabs in their tiny shells. There was always events going on at the pool, Steve and the rest of the team kept it entertaining and fun every single day! A couple of tips: At the lobby bar, make sure you get a Spanish Coffee or two in the evening as a nightcap - they are delicious (and potent!) Also get them to make you an Aqua Hurricane (thanks Yaniel & Maylan!)...tasty little things! And make sure you go to the evening entertainment, the crew is very talented here! Above all, I would recommend the Tryp to anyone I know...the people who work here are the friendliest and the best I have ever had the pleasure of meeting at any resort I have been to. They really do make you feel so welcome, and we will definitely be back!

Tryp Cayo Coco has always been the nicest place on the island. With its white-sand beach and good stretch of shallow water resting at the beach is welcoming and enjoyable. Rooms are well air-conditioned to compensate for the heat outside, have all the necessary stock of drinking water, towels, warm shower water, hairdryer, mini fridge. We are at the buffet as we were vacating with 2 small kids. The buffet always has soup for the kids, fish, chicken, beef and pork, along with good variety of salads, potatoes, beans, and tropical fruits. The entertainment and the evening show have been always the best at Tryp Cayo Coco. We have been to other hotels on the island. The staff is friendly and amazing, always smiling and doing their best. The front desk check in and out is fast and very efficient. The management of the hotel is accommodating, correct, and succeeding to keep the hotel enjoyable for everybody as little piece of paradise.

Stayed June 14-21. Always a great time at the Tryp!! Fantastic weather, beautiful view and great food. The staff is why we come back time and time again. From the moment we arrive to the moment we leave, they always ensure we are treated with great care. Just to name a few great bartenders; Julio Caesar x 2, Guillermo x 2, Michael, Uberlandis, and Eduardo. Also some other notable staff in managment; Ladys, Gelly, William, and Arelys. Thank you for truly making our vacation a relaxing holiday!!

I had an amazing time. The atmosphere at this resort is unmatched. You can see they are working as hard as possible to upgrade and improve quality after being devastated by hurricane Irma.Will be back

The food at this resort was terrible - no one goes to Cuba for the food but there was no variety in the food and the lunch and supper buffet were the same everyday. There wasn’t enough food for guests because locals would take all of it and the food you did get was either served cold or undercooked. The whole hotel was run down and not well taken care of. They were short staffed and the staff that were there were not friendly (except a few). The resort was over run with locals while we were there and they were rude - throwing bread into the pool for the birds while people were swimming, the kids were going around dumping cigarette butts into the pool and peoples drinks. No water pressure or warm water ever. The only good thing I have to say about the resort was the entertainment was good.

Food was better than any place in cuba i went before! this is my 6th time in cuba in 10 years. It's still cuba but i was really surprise. The hotel is small and welcoming. I prefer samll places than big hotels. Everything clean and nice. My only little concern is on weekend were local would come in. Never saw that kind of behaviour with local before very dirty habits by letting all their food on the floor or dropping their garbage on the floor instead of in a garbage can...the staff looked exhauted with them and angry but as soon as they were gone smile were back! i would recommend but make sure the person knows what to expect know that side. Also i think they should charge by person not by room maybe that's why staff was short on weekend 10 person for one room...)

I have been to this resort on a few occasions, I have returned here as I really enjoyed everything about it. This time however I found they were very understaffed. Mind you I still had a fabulous time here. You cannot beat the beach at this resort. I missed having the pizza oven working in the buffet this yr also as well as not being able to have a mojito as there was never any mint, I waited all yr for my mojito fix. I always found the staff at this resort was beyond friendly in the past but now not so much.

the resort was dated. Trying to book the A La Carte was absolutely horrible. Some people in our group had no problems with bookings and others couldn't get one at all. The view off our balcony was very nice but not worth the money, plus others in our group who had not booked or paid the extra for an ocean view room actually ended up getting one anyways. A few times the bars ran out of certain liquor. The entertainment was amazing! The dancers where breathtaking every night. Some staff were very friendly meanwhile others ( front desk,customer service and the lady booking the A la cartes) where not.

It needs a little updating, service needs improving. Beach was amazing. Entertainment was good. Foam party was a blast. Food was acceptable. Drive from airport was quick. Flight was great. Some of the staff was amazing some not so much

Hotel staff wasn't friendly they only catered to there own.. Service was slow and the the food was bad.. Lots of mosquitoes and they spray right around the time the cafeteria opens for supper so u get eaten a live and have to leave

The rooms were decent, beds were like sleeping on plywood. Maids were great, staff didn't go out of their way at all for anything (even with good tips) Alacart booking staff(Anabel) was rude and abrupt . Nightly shows were good( very talented) but typical, not a lot of other entertainment. Food was edible, coffee in restaurant was like swamp water. The stench of the bed of water by the snack bar was unbearable (which is beyond their control) .. the lobby bar was by far the best. Beach was beautiful but full of seashells and seaweed every day. The grounds were a mess every morning, going to breakfast there were plastic cups everywhere from the night before. Swim up bar smelled like an outhouse. Foam party was on the grounds, not in the pool. The highlight of the trip was the view from my room 1061, and the waitress in the Cuban restaurant Mayara , she is amazing best staff member during the entire week !!! .. oh, the lobby bathrooms looks like everyone's bowels exploded, all the time make sure you bring your own tissue.. my poor sister got locked inside the stall, DO NOT LOCK THOSE DOORS.

Except for the great beach, everything else about this resort is not. Lack of food, poor sevice, dirty restrooms and facilities, broken crumbling tiles around the pools, horrible smell from stagnant man made pond infested by mosquitoes. Never left a bad review before but after a week of feeling hungry, frustrated and having mosquitoe bites all over our bodies we couldn't wait to come home!

The best part of Tryp Cayo Coco was the staff. Almost all of the staff knew my name and face by the end of the trip. It was the staff that made the experience as good as it was. The beach was amazing, the pools were great. It's not a large resort, so everyone gets to know everyone, and all the fellow vactioners were super friendly and also made the stay memorable.

We had a great time. The people were lovely. Best beaches and the pools were very clean. We met a lot of people from all over Canada that have been coming here for many years. I was here 16 years ago with my husband and children. Lots of memories.

The gardens were beautiful. The beach was the best - so soft and you could walk out a long ways before it was over your head. We loved using the kayaks, paddle boats, cataramans, etc. Had a relaxing massage. The food was good; although i was limited as they put peppers in a lot of food (I am allergic to peppers). I must admit the ice cream and the desserts were wonderful. The staff were so friendly and spoke English really well. Our room was clean; although dated. Oh, the a la carte`s were so delicious! The entertainment was super good but we were at this resort last year and it was exactly the same children`s program as well as the adult entertainment. I was appreciative of the fact that some areas you were not to smoke (allergy again).

Don’t miss this old gem. Best beach, best pool, best pool bartender , great food and most important friendliest staff you will find. It may be a little old but that just means it’s aged to perfection. I would go back in a heartbeat.

This hotel may be old but I would recommend it over the other hotels on Cayo Coco, I’ve been to 8 at least. Food is great here, drinks are cold and staff are like family. Don’t pass this place by, you will be sorry.

Tryp has all the basics you would expect at a Cuban hotel. Based on other reviews, I thought it would be a step up, but not really the case. Go with your expectations set that this will be like the standard Cuban hotel. First time I was there so I can't compare, but based on conversations with other travellers, it was hit hard by the hurricane. They have rebuilt the entrance, dining room area and it is serviceable but nothing fancy (apparently beautiful before). Their disco isn't open so they use the snack bar. They lost a beach restaurant and pizza snack bar and these are still not rebuilt. Travellers seem to be avoiding this hotel so it was half empty, a la cartes were closed/on rotation, sections of the dining room not open. The good news is line ups for made to order food (fried rice, pasta, fish, etc) in the buffet are short (ala carte meals were very weak). Able to get clean towels, lounger by the pool etc. The beach is beautiful, one of the best I have seen in Cuba (vs Santiago, Santa Lucia, Veredero, Holguin). Staff are some of the friendliest I have met - William, Eduardo, Damien. I found the food to be better than other Cuban hotels, with a lot of choice. Recommend taking a Classic Car into Moron - Abel Salazar was our driver and he was fantastic. Not sure I will return to Cayo Coco because it is meant for a lazy beach vacation, and I like to see local villages by biking/walking which isn't available there. The locals are separated by the Causeway and a toll, so you are mostly stuck on the resort strip with limited interaction.

This was our first time visiting the Tryp. It was only about a 15 minute shuttle bus ride from the airport. Upon our arrival the staff were quick to check us in and accommodating so we could have our room close to our friends that came in the day before. The room was neat and very clean. The showers had great water pressure and no issue with flushing the toilet. Our housekeeping was very friendly and had a smile on her face every day. Our room's location was perfect. A short distance walk to the snack bar and ocean. There were enough lounge chairs and never had to worry about not getting one. Every morning the beach was dragged for debris. The buffet always had something you could eat. Homemade omelets every morning was my fav. We will certainly visit the Tryp again next year and tell more of our friends to go.

It's Cuba so expectations were low, but we were pleasantly surprised. It's clean, though the plumbing causes some occasional smells. Friendly staff. Fantastic beach. Cabana grill great place for lunch

My recent booking thru Rachel Guindon and TripCentral.ca to go to TRYP Cayo Coco in Cuba far exceeded my expectations.  Rachel's expertise and patience with my questions made the experience stress free.  Although TRYP Hotel and Cayo Coco had been extremely damaged by Hurricane Irma a few years back, they have done their best to make the hotel a wonderful and beautiful place to vacation.  The beach is spectacular and the Cuban people on the resort and on the tours we took were exceptional, friendly and professional.  A pleasant surprise was how good the food was.  Although the selection is limited, they do their best with what they have and especially the rotissiere grilled chicken at the beach restaurant.  I have always been hesitant to vacation in Cuba, but I can now say that it's one of my favourite destinations.  I can't wait to go again.  Cheers 😎🥂🌴

Best staff..kind, friendly, hardworking, and positive. Beach is beautiful with bar server which is wonderful. Rooms are good. Basic, but clean. Food is good. Ala carte International Restraunt the best! Especially the salmon. Felt safe and cared for by all the staff.

The food was great the beach was fantastic most of the workers was nice some of them were grumpy. Met some great people. My son was never South and he live everything about the place. Lots of hot water

I thought the hotel was amazing. Very very clean and well maintained. The food was delicious and always a wide variety to choose from. The staff were very friendly and helpful when you had a question to be answered.

We were totally surprised by this hotel. It’s a 3.5 stars but we felt like it was 4.5. Food was amazing. I would say the best out of all the other places we’ve been. Grounds are well kept, rooms were very clean, beach was amazing. Two pools which makes it nice. One with all the activities and the other one was a quiet pool. You could also find a bar at the quiet pool. We got 3 of the 4 a la carte restaurants, Italien was truly the best with Erline as our waitress. Let’s not forget Mayara and Gelly at customer service. They go out of their way to make sure you are happy. This was our first time at Tryp Cayo Coco but for sure not our last!

We came on Christmas day and we did not like atmosphere (drunk locals at lobby) Lobby -not high sealing, small space. Not lobby more reception only. You don”t have feeling you are at resort. Check in was fast only we came in that time. Our room was fine, and maid lady did a great job..Towels are the white and a new which I like. Buffet area looks like student’s canteen. Sometimes fish from bbq is raw. No veggie. The waiters sometimes do not come at all to ask do we need anything. We only take one drink for lunch or dinner. For New Yea Eve our waiter came once for drink. Was really disappointing. We are not picky at all this reality. Snack bar is also horrible..Five or six of locals are having fun while rest of guests are suffering from the noise. There was no WC near the beach so either you go to your room or near the buffet which is far.. The hotel has a nice layout I view from the terrace. International restaurant- service was okay.Portions were kiddie sized. Cuban restaurant -service was a good and portion are normal. Italian restaurant we did not go, they did not have any open space. Of all my trips to Cuba, this was by far the most expensive and the only one that really was disappointing and a letdown.

Hotel was awesome very good shows and staff good entertainment food was great deffinetly reccommend tryp over any other resort good for family or couples of singles nothing bad to say about this resort

The hotel was not the prettiest to the eye and the rooms were very dated (definitely could use an upgrade). The AC had one setting (super cold or hot) and ran 24/7 because there really isn’t any insulation keeping cold in and hot out. The food was very limited in the buffet and had a very hard time finding anything, breakfast and dinner were doable lunch was challenging. Mosquitos were killer so bring bug spray! Now all the “bad” is out, the hotel was great. Service was fantastic and rooms although dated and very “ghetto” were kept very clean. The staff made your stay and when you’re paying such a low price it’s the value you receive. There was never a time I couldn’t get a drink or a pool/ beach chair. The resort is attractive moreso to singles/ couples/ more of a party scene. I had an amazing time, but it was not very kid friendly. The kids pool had a wire in it and wasn’t up kept in my opinion, very very slippery stones all around the children’s pool where my son slipped and fell multiple times. The kids entertainment was very minimal and night time kids show was just too late compared to other Cuban resorts I have attended. I don’t recommend this as a great family resort but more of a resort for relaxing drinks and no expectations. Although the stay was great I wouldn’t recommend the hotel from all the hotels I’ve stayed in within Cuba just because I’ve stayed in much better accommodations for similar price in different areas (holguin, Cayo Santa Maria and even Santa Lucia). If you can get over the food and the dated rooms and If you’re not travelling with little ones, it’s a great party resort and a great time.

Spent 7 days in December 2018. Very friendly staff, good food. Weather was not so nice. Nice beach. Warm ocean. Quiet place. Not too busy. Relaxing time. Hard to book dinners though. Changed rooms a few times, no problems. Regards Peter
