The resort was an older establishment, but very comfortable and user friendly. The resort is built right on the beautiful beach; calm and great for swimming and lounging. The rooms and grounds were very clean and accommodating. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pools were small and shallow, but good to cool off with a quick dip. The resort offered three different restaurants for meals three times a day; two were a la carte, our preferred choice to eat, and a larger buffet - main restaurant. We met a number of couples who were returnees signalling a preferred destination for many. A ten minute walk would bring you to a small town for local shopping and supplies. Transport to larger cities could be made via inexpensive local buses for more shopping and site seeing. The all inclusive resort also offered exciting excursions for FREE! You can swimming with the turtles, go for a glass bottom boat ride to see colorful fish and corral reefs or go inland via a safari jeep ride. We also opted to take a (paid) tour of the Island to see the history, the local old churches, the towns, the landscape, the history and the rum distillery. And the awesome CAVE TOUR is also a must see! Great added value for the holiday. All in all, we had a wonderful time. Unfortunately this resort is closing at the end of April to be transformed into a Sandals Beaches Resort. So our comfortable old worn shoe resort we discovered will sport a new set treads and a different set of footwear when it re-opens. Hope the new shoe (Sandals) will still fit when it lands.

Relaxing, quiet resort right on the ocean! Beautiful sunsets!! Very laid back and welcoming feel (no sales pressures). Could easily walk around the resort and to the nearby town. Very safe. Ocean was great for snorkeling. Lots of amenities and activities available. Limited restaurants on resort however the food was great and varied each day. Had a wonderful time!

We just returned from this resort.It was amazing!Everything was so clean and comfortable-the staff was so friendly and couldn't do enough for you!The water was so clean and the beach was beautiful!We are just so saddened that they are closing at the end of April!Sandal's are tearing it down and rebuilding a new resort!I Guess we'll never be able to afford Barbados again!

Enjoyed a beautiful relaxing time here. Food was very well done. My wife ate more fish than she has ever done.😊 Lots of activities to do that were included with the all inclusive feature of the resort. Staff were extremely nice and helpful. Special shout out the the staff at the resort spa. Thanks to all for a wonderful time. ❤❤

Hotel is outdated. Clean. Staff very firndly, more than friendly!! Food is a joke!! I know I had free time, bcs it was on vacation, but for god sake I want be on the beach , but we spent 1/3 of day waiting for our orders. Except brekfast and some dinner you have only a la carte restaurants. Forget about island fruits (you will have apples, bananas and watermelon). Something sweet? Oh no way!! You need to look good in your swimming suite! Lol You want see any sea food (exept one dish which looks like someone's puke) Most food look not apetite. Drinks?! Can you imagine vacation on an island without mojito? I couldn't but yes it is possible in this resort! No pepermint leaves!! no mojito!! I will say food is about 3* cuba. Im not a picky eater, but you wish to have some choices when you spent couple of grands for your only vacation, I can say you want to be spoiled by number of food for that money spent. I will never be back, and I will never recommend this hotel. Its bad because staff was so nice!! And beach is wonderfull.

We are very avid travellers. We like to try a new place each year. We have been to Antigua, St Lucia, Turks and Caicos, Aruba etc. This year we decided on Barbados. Our flight to Barbados was with Air Canada Rouge. Large plane but very crowded. Please be aware to download their app prior to liftoff as it will be a long flight. Bring some snacks as well as the food is nasty. The Almond Beach Resort is a very nice resort. The employees and management are the people that make this resort stand out. They work very hard to ensure that you have a great holiday. There are some that we found didn't like their jobs but this could be attributed to the fact that they will lose their job next year due to a Sandals takeover. But to be fare, most were very pleasant. Service was unbelievable, they always went an extra mile to help you. The down part of the holiday was the food. For some unknown reason, the first part of the week (Tues - Fri) the food was below average. Chicken, pork and fish way overcooked and very dry. Leaving hamburgers in a liquid to stay warm and moist didn't seem to appetizing and there was no taste. I think cooking them fresh on the grill would be much better, especially for lunch Then it's like a cloud was lifted or the cook was fired (Fri-Tue) because the food started to come out cooked to perfection. The taste of the chicken, pork and fish was good. So in a nutshell, if the food was like the end of the week, I don't think there would be any complaint. I know many of us were complaining at the start. Bars were not too busy and did provided excellent beverages. The bottled beer every second day was a bonus. Only small complaint about bars is, to have multiple bartenders between 4:30 and 6:00. Many people coming from the beach had to wait for their drinks. I also think the Reef bar should be the main bar for entertainment. It's outside, near the ocean and has the best ambience. Beach: It's nice and lots of shade. Very good for all people. Snorkelers and swimmers. Beach Towels: You can change them between 5-6pm every day. Never had any issues with this. Rooms: They provide shelter, they're clean and do the job. We are not on holidays to sit in a room. Only complaint, lack of sheets. We had to request an additional one which wasn't a problem Entertainment: It's live but very outdated. Would be nice to hear more recent tunes. Not too many people stuck around to listen. Again, I would push entertainment to Reef bar as it should be the main bar. Lunch time entertainment: A bonus. Very nice to hear during lunch Excursions: A nice addition, not long and very entertaining. All people were happy with them. All in all, we did like the resort. The food was disappointing but is happens. We met some very nice people and had a great time. Too bad it's going to close but at least we can say, we were there. Due to Sandal huge price tag, we won't be back.

This is a relaxing resort full of friendly and helpful staff. The staff can come across as rude, but I think that is a cultural difference. The rooms were clean with no mosquitoes getting into the rooms. The resort has down-sized from their original size. Hopefully, this resort will stay open. They have had a history of opening and closing. Enid's restaurant is by far the best restaurant on the resort. The decor is great. The food is delicious. The bartenders can become overwhelmed at certain times of the day. This is a resort for a quiet stay. The night-life is very quiet. The night time entertainment was only good on 2 nights of the week. The resort is far from Bridgetown and the night-life.

It was a wonderful atmosphere beautifully decorated. The people were friendly and went to lengths to be helpful, Good choices of food daily and the service was amazing. Conveniently located in beautiful grounds. The grounds and beach was fantastic. The room was conveniently located overlooking the beach. The organized tours were enjoyable. It was a beautiful place to take lovely photographs or videos. The shuttle was convenient to travel to the sister hotel which house beautiful art work and loved the gift shop.. It was a fun place with good entertainment in a relaxing atmosphere. The transportation service to the hotel and airport was pleasant. It was lovely to have a car for 2.for the tours when no one else booked. The tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly. It was really enjoyable. It was good to have lifeguards daily on the beach. I would suggest having more water sports such as jet skies, floaters, and boat rides. It's a shame it will be taken over by another company .

Just got back from the Almond beach resort. The hotel was a little old but overall it was a nice hotel, good food and beautiful beach. They also have excursions included. Was a very nice time. Tripcentral did a great job with the reservation

Nice place, nice beach but watch out for the rocks and coral if you plan on swimming. If you snorkel the rocks and coral are a small trade off for the amount of fish you will see. The snorkeling is awesome. The food is pretty good but only certain restaurants are open during certain times so you are forced to go to them. There are NO 24 hour snacks available and the Hotel DOES NOT restock your fridge with ANYTHING after the 1st day. You are literally forced to buy groceries if you want anything to eat or drink after 10:30pm. The Island & Jeep tours are great, glass bottom boat and swimming with the turtles are hit and miss. We had the turtles & glass bottom boat tours cancelled 3 times due to weather, not the hotel's fault BUT NOT TELLING US even though we had asked them to 3 times..yeah.. Totally their fault. Entertainment is hit and miss as well. Mainly, Duos or trios with Karaoke tracks. However there is not a lot of Caribbean type of Music. Lastly, for those who care. The staff members are either really nice or real pricks..not much in between. Outside the Resort the people are nice and you should feel 100% safe walking to get your groceries or taking the buses anywhere one of the best conveniences in Barbados. Knowing the inconveniences hopefully will help prepare you.

We were pleased with the large airy rooms that were upgraded to superior ocean view when we arrived. The facilities at the resort were great, clean and well cared for. The food at the various restaurants was quite good - especially if you like to experience island dishes. The staff worked hard to give great service even though the island was shut down by Tropical Storm Matthew near the end of our week's stay. The entertainment was quite good - amazing that there are so many Barbadians with great voices (something that we noticed as we visited Bridgetown and heard staff at the hotel sing along whenever music was played).

My friend & I stayed for 6 nights at this resort, our room was upgraded to Ocean view! It is an older resort, but clean and high maintenance. The resort had a very cozy and private beach with a stunning view! Food was good, people were nice, but the two most amazing staff that we had a great experience with were Karun at the front desk and Nathasha at the restaurant. Karun was extremely helpful and knowledgeable assisting us with all the bookings for restaurant, tours, etc. The one thing that I did not like was the bottom of the ocean covered with big rocks which made it difficult to swim! We had a good time at the resort and will diffidently recommend it to our families & friends. Keep up the good work. :) S.M

Rundown resort we are informed that it's going be closing down next year staff was great but the result was absolutely rundown . Very limited food very disappointed It was very obvious management was not put in any effort to the resort there were no drinks in the room no minibar just water The buffets were very poor I am very surprise Tour operators were not aware of this situation that the resort was going to be Demolished next year and was bought out by sandals resort in is very obvious to resort is been running very poorly for the last few years it was just absolutely run down .

Small resort, intimate, several tours included in the package, including swimming with turtles. The room was ordinary - but we spent all our time outdoors and on the water. We only used the beach right outside our block. Barbados is easy to get around using public transit, so you aren't trapped. We really enjoyed the people - who are enthusiastic ambassadors of their island.

We were greeted by friendly staff members who made us feel right at home. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and a wide variety to please everyone. The beach was lovely with a refreshing breeze that can put you into a relax frame of mind as you gaze across the ocean in the day and enjoy the beautiful sunset in the evening. Just in case you need someone to take you around the island, just ask for Malachi, he is kind and friendly and gives an exciting tour.

The resort was very good. The rooms were clean and the staff was very informative and helpful. The food was not as good as it should have been, it was very limited. The excursions were well priced and organized, the guides were well versed in their country.

The Almond Beach Resort was an excellent setting for relaxing and enjoyable vacation. The staff were wonderful (personable and helpful), the rooms were spacious and well kempt, with excellent views of the beach and the ocean. Air Canada vacation staff made our transition from the airport to the resort seamless and worry-free. The food was fresh, plentiful and delicious especially the locally themed cuisine of Enid's and the pleasant sea breezes that accompanied our meals at the Reef restaurant. We are barely home and we are already planning out return.

Consider the hotel bohemians chic. It's tired and you know it needs some tlc however the room and the resort is extremely clean. It was awesome to walk 100 feet from your room to be walk on a beautiful sandy beach. The food for an all inclusive is great and the chef went all out to prepare and cook the catch of my husbands reef fishing event.

The resort is nice but it is more a 3 star than 4. The food was good and service was excellent. Staff in general are friendly and helpful.The entertainment was good but ended early in the evening. The beach area is beautiful. We really enjoyed our tours that were part of our vacation package. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the Almond Beach resort.

I stayed here last week for one week. The building is in real need of repair. The employees were great. The beach was beautiful. The food was the same everyday, just plain. The room was clean but the shower was terrible. It was scalding hot and the water only dripped out. The fridge had two bottles of water and two bottles of pop. You could not have it stocked with anything after that. Not even water! If you want room service you had to pay 25.00 US. No key for the safe in the room unless you gave them your credit card. I was happy to leave. Most people I talked with had the same opinion. Some people asked to be transferred to another resort. I gave it a three instead of a two because of the employees. I would not return to this resort.

Just came back from a 4 day vacation at Almond Beach Resort for my husbands 50th birthday. Paradise! The beach was outstanding and the people were fantastic! Very friendly, helpful and fun! The hotel was a little tired as they are closing in June 2015 but did not put a damper on our vacation at all. It's all about the beach!!!! One tiny complaint I did have was only 1 buffet restaurant was open on the Thursday we were there - I would have preferred having a choice. All in all we loved every minute. Hoping to go back in February for my birthday!!!!!! Have to get one more visit in before we say goodbye to Almond Beach!

We had a lovely holiday at Almond Beach Resort. First time in Barbados, not our last. The grounds were very well kept and always being worked on by the staff. Very friendly staff that accommodated us. Weather was very hot but refreshing to jump into the ocean that was at least 80 degrees. The bugs were a pain, quite abit of the guests were bitten as was my husband, but we were prepared with benadryl. You just learned to live with it. A new drink I had was called BBC, that helped alot! LOL. 3 roosters decided we needed a wake-up call every morning, and I mean every morning by 6am. We were offered 4 free excursions while we stayed at this resort, fishing, jeep safari to see the beautiful island, snorkelling with the turtles on a very fast boat and a glass bottom boat ride and also snorkelling with the turtles. These excursions anywhere else would have cost at least $75 each US. Kayaking and paddle boarding, shuffle board, pool and ping pong were also offered free of charge. The Westjet staff at the airport when we arrived and at the resort were very kind and helpful. Over-all we had a great time and met lots of new people from all over, mostly UK. Would definately recommend this to anyone wishing to have a family friendly trip.

Amazing location! This resort is a great value for your dollar vacation. The staff are excellent, very accommodating and friendly. The food was good with variations. Rooms are clean and spacious but on the older side. The pool areas are excellent but the beach is Paradise! This has to be one of the most beautiful locations on the island. Crystal clear calm water with plenty of fish to snorkel with. I am just sad that the resort will not be around for ever, and hope that whatever replaces it, is affordable. Would definitely recommend this all inclusive package holiday.
