Terrible Customer service, the Food was horrible, Beach is not in the usable stage. You need to pay for the water. At the bar, nobody comes to serve any kind of drink. Only a handful of staff has a smile.

Not a happy camper
I have been here many times and this was by far the worst trip ever .I didnt get the room I requested. The one I got for the first 2 days had a toilet that didnt flush, wasnt fastened down shower sprayed all over and the light switch didnt work. the wallplug was hanging out .The other room I had came with a mouse that ate my candies and bar soap The neighbours above me flooded their bathtub and I had wet floors for 2 days. The Would not recommend 5 1/2 hr bus ride was too much. Food was limited and usually cold. Fresh fruit was amazing. The highlight of the trip.

Fantastic beach beautiful people...fantastic weight loss plan!
Over the New Year period, the hotel evening entertainment was amazing! The rooms are simple and clean. The staff fantastic, friendly and welcoming. The beach is EVERYTHING ðŸ˜. We spend all day soaking in the sun and salt loving the vibes....HUNGRYY! The food is unrecognizable, undercooked, under seasoned...basically inedible.

Not as Advertised / Under Renovation
My husband and I went to Brisas for Christmas 2019. Accommodations - The front desk is understaffed and not prepared to handle large busloads of guests who are checking in. Much of the check-in process is manual, so expect to wait in line for a good while to get your room. Because the resort is under renovation, many rooms are not ready upon arrival... unless you are one of the "regulars". In That case, you will be allowed to bypass the line and will be immediately shown to your room. - Although the Sunwing website states that the resort has 400 rooms, about 1/3 of the resort is under renovation... including the disco. The Sunwing rep spoke about the disco in the orientation however when we asked at the front desk where it was, we were told that it was under renovation ... so frustrating. - We requested an upper level room with a king sized bed. We got a lower level room with 3 twin beds (????). We ended up pushing 2 of the twin beds together, however one was higher than the other which made for a slightly uncomfortable sleep. - There is a safe in the room, however there is a daily charge to use it. - The rooms have no iron board or clock radio. You can ask the front desk to give you a wake up call, however there is a 50/50 chance that you will actually receive one. - The open air patios are nice, but half of them are closed which forces everyone to sit in one area. Many guests smoke which make it uncomfortable for those who do not smoke. Food - The food is ok. If you have been to Cuba before, you will know what to expect. The issue with the dining = the guests. During our visit there were large groups who like to eat "Family Style" and take 2-3 platefuls of each item, leaving minimal amounts for the rest of us. On our first day, we arrived in time for lunch which ended at 2 pm, however there wasn't much to eat other than rice and some fruit. The next 2 days it felt like there was a mad dash to get food each day in the main dining hall. Fortunately we found the snack bar by the beach. They don't have a whole lot of selection, however the volume of food served to satisfy our appetites. - The a la carte meals are much better than the buffet HOWEVER only one of the 3 a la carte restaurants is actually open.... the rest are under renovation (also NOT on the Sunwing website). Services - The beach towel bar was not open for the first 3 days. - They gym opened late and the medical centre never opened, (despite guests waiting outside). You can go to the front desk to inquire, but no one there knows what is going on. The Beach - The beach was not as nice as other beaches I have been to before ... lots of plastic garbage. There was also lots of seaweed. Although there was staff trying to rake it up, their effort was futile. Final Thoughts It was great to get away for the holidays, however this resort was not as advertised. The Sunwing site misrepresented the amenities of this resort. It is listed as a 4 star when in truth it is barely a 1. Considering all that I have listed above plus the 90 minute ride from the airport, we will not be returning to this resort again.

Worst trip everI have
I have been to Brisa Santa Lucia 20 times before and always enjoyed it other than the fact Sunwing usually screws up baggage or extra stops you find out about 2 weeks before you leave, but this time the Russian tourists were there in full force. They are by far the pushiest most ignorant, greediest tourists I have ever come across. They literally push you aside in line , step on your feet, and fill their plates with everything they can get on them, yes them. They usually have 2 or 3 plates per person and load up bags and tupperware containers before they leave the dining rooms. Fist fights were not uncommon between them selves and wife bashing occurred twice that I saw. I will not return here until I know they are not coming back. I feel so sorry for the very nice staff who rely on tips and gifts to survive. Elite Plus was a lousy option other than having a larger seat. I waited 45 minutes for my bag when an employee asked if this was my bag . It was and had been mistakenly put in oversized luggage even though it was a very small suitcase. The area was empty when I left and I almost missed my Shuttle.

I recently stayed at this resort and I was pleasantly surprised that the food was excellent. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean. I only had to ask for an extra pillow and it was provided at no extra cost. I would definitely go to this resort again.

Local tourist destination
I guess it was a bad time of year for flys breeding. First day was intolerable had to stay indoors not before 25 bites. Following that every morning and evening there were tiny mats or mosquitoes. You had to stay covered in bug repellent. The sun was wonderful every day hot and intense. However only one day out of the week they cleaned the seaweed witch was 1 foot deep and 5 feet wide. The restaurant should learn to change the tablecloth after each meal. Often they were dirty. The buffet was mediocre at best. Usually you could find something to satisfy your appetite. My sliding doors in my room to the balcony were jammed. Not functional. They also had a a 2 inch gap at the top witch allowed mosquitoes in my room also my phone didn’t work all week. I was there mainly for the sun and ocean and they were both wonderful.

Brisas Santa Lucia
I don't want to be negative about a place that relies on tourism for sustainability but our trip here left us with a very negative feeling. It started with no water in our rooms and a definite disinterest in helping us. The fact that our rooms would not have one single bottle of water was never mentioned in any communications. This has not happened to us in other trips to Cuba but regardless, the hotel staff might have been more helpful but were not interested in helping. the man at the front desk pointed to the store and said go buy some. The Public Relations lady did help us once I was able to locate her and was, in my opinion, their greatest ambassador, otherwise I had no sense of interest in helping or waiting on us throughout the week either at the bars or in the restaurants. We realized (our own fault) we were there during Carnival. (February 11-18) The individuals that swarmed the resort that week were entitled, rude and inconsiderate. That behaviour seemed to be reflected in the staff, perhaps a ripple effect of the garbage they had to put up with. Locals literally threw garbage around the pool and I watched as lifeguards scrambled to clean the messes up. They were loud, brought their own boom boxes and tried to outplay the pool bar music. Endless hours of selfies, chairs up against the pool deck blocking access to the pool and stairs of the pool. There was literal pushing past you and physically pushing you in the buffet to fill their plates past capacity and waste food in what is a country struggling to feed it's own. They were loud until 5 a.m. every day. Having said this, our rooms were clean (our maid did a wonderful job) and other than the typical problems of repairs etc., to be expected at any Cuban resort, the facilities and beach were what I expected. When we had some and our hotel room leaked and soaked one of the beds and bedding I was disappointed in how we were responded to - I had no expectations of someone climbing on a roof to fix it at night but did expect something other than a shrug and angry look and turnabout and have him, what looked like a security guard and the maid leave the room. No promises of new bedding or addressing the issue at a later date. They did run out of things continuously, but again, understood given their situation. and geographical location having to bring supplies in. We were befriended by someone who frequents the resort and loves the people there. If not for her, our week would have been a complete disaster. Overall, I would say I was very very disappointed in the people. After some conversations on line with others who know the resort, it is my understanding there has been a staff turnover. Regardless, if staff appears this disinterested and even angry to deal with resort guests than there is a problem that likely starts at the top and must be dealt with. They obviously feel abused and unappreciated because it was not just one individual, it felt that way from almost everyone encountered. I have always found the people of Cuba to be warm and inviting so this was quite a shock. Perhaps it was Carnival but I would not return.

Average
3 star resort. booked with Air transat and Hola sun, 4 hour bumpy bus ride from Holguin from Toronto which includes a 30 minute stop half way at a local bar where you can buy beer and refreshments. Pros- lovely beach, lots of soft loungers and shade available, rooms are very clean housekeeping does a wonderful job, resort grounds are lush and well maintained, pool was clean and refreshing with lots of loungers and shade, air conditioner amazing! Cons- no beverages including water in fridges in rooms, only one blanket (no bed spread), one pillow and one stuffed with left over junk from something else (bring your own). bars ran out of liquor and mixers. beach restaurant only served hamburger or ham and cheese, buffet repetitive, customer service definitely needs a revamp, service in buffet based on tipping they will reserve a table for you and treat you like a king if you tip big :) Small changes could make this resort better, we will not return as there are so many other places to try. Air Transat Rep was ridiculous not sure if he understands he is representing a huge company....dont bother going to him for anything!

I have been here many times and have always enjoyed my stay there. The people go out of their way to please you. The food this time was not as good as usual. The main complaint was cold soup and entrees. The omelet bar was very good as usual as was the pasta bar and thin crust pizza. The grounds keepers do an amazing job. The rooms are kept very clean and maids are always trying to clean when you are doing something away from your room. The rooms are dated and are due to be remodeled soon. The music can be loud at times , okay for younger people but sometimes too loud for seniors. All in all a good bang for your buck.

I took my 9 year old son here for our first time the week of April 19-26/2018 and we had an amazing time. The grounds were well maintained and clean. Our room was very clean and steps to the beach. Water pressure was excellent. Staff was very friendly. Only downfall I found was they could use 2 bartenders at the pool bar as it is quite big. Other than that we had an amazing trip and will definitely return

Very disappointing resort!
The hotel is very run down and outdated. They have updated a quarter of their rooms and water system however the rest of the rooms are old and outdated. We spent the week with no HOT water at all. The hotel is aware of the issue and when we spoke to the manager they offer you bottles of water and a bottle of wine to compensate for the inconvenience. Food was below standards. Snack bar ran out of French fries and hot dogs for several of the days we were there. The ala carte restaurants served pretty much the same food at both we attended. Service in the restaurants was not good. Some days was none existent. We tried to change our room for 3 days straight and was told the hotel was over booked each and everyday. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone!

My husband and I arrived Jan 18th to Brisas. The resort is a comfortable and lively place to be. The people who work here are impeccable, everyone made us feel welcome. The food for me and my husband was way more then we expected. Everyday was a different meal and the food was well prepared. We didn’t even need condiments, everything tasted good. The entertainment staff was very creative and very amusing. We made a lot of friends and we are happy to say we can’t wait to go back and meet them all again. The weather was mostly rainy, but that didn’t stop me and my husband from dancing in the rain even if the weather was ankle high. The beach is a bit full of algae but once you get in the water you forget it is even there. Brisas will see more of me and my family.

Simple, fun resort
This was my first time in Cuba, I joined friends on a trip over the New Years Eve time frame. I found the food to be good, the service at the bar very good. The snack bar service was rude and slow. My maid was excellent in cleaning my room. HOWEVER I came home with many bites that are from BED BUGS!! Not good. In the afternoon the entertainment started the the noise volume was far too loud! The person with the mic was extra loud and not entertaining but annoying. The grounds were kept clean and the beach was lovely. Obtaining a bicycle was difficult as the attendant was often not there. I felt safe in Cuba, the disco was supposed yo he open at 1130 but often not open at all. For a 3 1/2 star resort I would say it was good but needs improvement in the entertainment section. And now I must deal with bed bug bites.

Worst ever
Lets start in Toronto with Sunwing and their 5 kg carry on rule. I had one carryon for 4 people only slightly overweight and they made me separate it. Okay. Then we land in Santiago and they tell everyone they must disembark. My mother is 80 and my granddaughter is 2 and this made everything very uncomfortable. Just imagine my 80 year old mother walking down stairs and across a hot tarmac. Fine. Done we get back on and apparantly we have an extra pasenger so we get to wait another hour. Done and away we go to Camaguay. Nice landing, everything is smooth until they lose 1/2 our luggage. Now we get to wait 2 more hours while we fill out forms and try to locate our luggage tags. Sounds great no. Good thing we left early. Now for the Brisas. I have been to over 40 resorts in Cuba from 2 star to 6 star. This place shouldnt get a 1 star. I have stayed at every resort in Santa Lucia and this place is the worst. The food got boring after the second day and it never changed. But even better on the weekends the Cubans come and many of them take storage bags of food with them. They ran out of food on Saturday afternoon and wouldnt allow anyone in the Buffet. My mothers room only had hot water every other day and she had a leak right above the toilet which she complained about many times to no avail. While i was in her room fixing the toilet that didnt work i also redirected the leak so she didnt have cold water dripping on her back. The drinks were all very ho-hum. The front desk manager was probably the rudest least people person i ever met anywhere. As everywhere else in Cuba most of the staff were amazing. I hope you all get the negativity in my review, i love Cuba and will continue to travel there but Brisas is definitely on my never ever again list.

Sunwing Crappola
Hotel was fine but Sunwing was the pits. Half the people on the plane saw their luggage sitting on the tarmac as we were leaving. They said they were overweight, but never took any of the kiteboarders gear of the plane. Some lady made the mistake of leaving her meds in her luggage including her insulin. Sunwing tried to make amends by giving them $50 cash a day until they got their bags. This happened 4 weeks in a row going to Camaguay as well as going to Santiago first and arriving 2 hrs later than posted arr. time. This is my 14th or 15th trip with Sunwing and probably my last as not one trip has gone according to plan or schedule. The staff at Brisas hotel is very good as is most of Cubas resorts . Its the same as most resorts, the better you tip the better your service.

Just "OK"
When they first assigned me to room #916, there was strong odor coming from the bathroom. I had to ask for another room. They moved me to 424. Much better only ants!! Food was awesome but desserts was quite different. I wanted very HOT water but they do not have that available. I would say 70% of hot water and 30% of cold water. I had to shower fast! A/C does not work great like we have here in Canada. Be advised that all bathroom have NO screen to prevent from mosquito coming in. Luckily I bought screen at Canadian Tire and taped it over window for a peace of mind. 90% of staff were really friendly. Mostly at front desk were not very friendly. If you give a tip to the server, they will immediately treat you like a king/queen. I encourage you to tip them and don't be surprised how they will treat you!! They do have 4 computers but every time one or two out of 4 won't work when doing the internet! It's $1 CUC for one hour. I had to re-connect a million times. I was so frustrated!! Beach was awesome! Only unbearable heat during summer time. I should have gone during winter time. Lesson learned. On the first show, they asked for perfect body guys which turned me off. I do not appreciate them only after "perfect" body. Of course I left the show. On my departure, since my plane does not leave until 9 pm, I had an opportunity to see the city (Camaguey) It really strike my heart. Their apartments were extremely small, standard were not met like we have up here in Canada. I had a hard time finding to buy pizza! Extremely limited choice of restaurants!! In closing, I will never go to Cuba again. I rather go somewhere where it's well developed, modern and more options such as restaurants, shopping malls and etc.

Great time
We recently came back from Brisas Santa Lucia. IT was a great experience for all four of us. I would highly recommend it for people with small children. Everything is so close. They have a small pool for kids, and the beach is a minute walk from the pools and the restaurant. Only thing I would recommend is to buy your own water at the store in the resort. Water in the resort is safe to drink but has a specific smell, and we were not able to drink it.

The Brisis hotel is totally worth what you pay. Just finished 4 days , what a way to relax! Everyone goes above and beyond to make your trip enjoyable. Rooms are fine, very comfortable bed. Buy bug spray! It rained for about an hour and the mosquitoes came out! The restaurant was so so, there is always something to eat. Spanish coffees are great! Swim up bar, you can't go wrong. Beach bar has pizza and hamburgers for that afternoon snack. The entertainment staff work very hard. Smile say hello to everyone , your in Cuba!

Great Value and very Comfortable Resort
We found Brisas Santa Lucia to be the perfect sized resort. Our mother travels with us and she isn't able to walk great distances but everything was convenient and easy for her to get around. All areas were well maintained and clean! Most of the staff were friendly. The entertainers were exceptional! They provided different activities throughout the day at different areas of the resort and were incredibly entertaining and hilarious (Carlito specifically). The housekeepers were very friendly and accommodating. The buffet offered a great variety of different food but I was particularly impressed with the lunch buffet and the large salad bar. The chef preparing omelettes and eggs at breakfast is extremely talented and well worth the wait for the specialty order. We went to one a la carte restaurant and although the service was great the food was not very good. The salad was tasty but the remainder of the meal was either overcooked or cold. I highly recommend the horseback ride. It's only $15 cuc and worth every penny. Raul was very friendly, funny and incredibly accommodating. He also organized the horse and carriage tour of Santa Lucia for us which was also very reasonably priced and most enjoyable. One thing I really thought was fantastic was to find out that the resort cares enough about their staff that their families could come and visit them when they are working many days in a row. My fondest memory will be the reaction of one of the entertainer's son when I gave him a toy and his face lit up and he promptly hugged and thanked me. His day was made a little brighter but my vacation was made at that very moment. I look forward to returning to Brisas Santa Lucia!

4 th time on this Resort
The main reason we go back to this beautiful place is the beach and water. Walking on the beach is my favorite thing to do in a vacation and on this place you can walk for 1hr each way. The water is amazing for children . For 30 ft in the water is about 2 ft. The kids swim with the fish. Safety, No pollution. Is like a different world. .Leave the worries at home and you will have a great vacation. If you like fancy rooms and fancy foods, this is no the place for you. If you like Beauty, peace, water, beach, nature here is where you recharge your inner you for a year at least. Thank you Santa Lucia Brisas .

Amazing service
This is a solid 3.5 star hotel - if you go with this is mind, you won't be too disappointed. The staff here is what makes it great - and tipping one peso here and there will get you far! One doesn't go to Cuba for the food, but mostly for the beaches. Although there was a lot of kelp , it didn't hinder us from enjoying ourselves. The a la cartes were ok although we were expecting a bit more of the Cuban one. This place is secluded (along with the other three hotels nearby) but we felt very safe ( we went for a 5km run almost every morning). As for the drinks, yes, it is the cheap rum but they are very generous with it:) overall, the staff makes his place!

VERY CLEAN hotel. Rooms, cafeteria, garden, beach - maintained daily and spotless clean. FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL STAFF, pleasant, smiling, offering help and solutions to every little problem. I was there with my grandson and sometimes we needed a little extra service, and I must say we were well taken care of. So thank you Brisas, thank you Trip Central and thank you Air Transat. No complaints at all. Food, staff, beach, pool, bars, shows, rooms... were all as expected or better. Excursions were fun and great value. 3rd time in Cuba and have not yet been disappointed. The rooms will need to be updated in the next few years, but still very functional.

Resort meets more than my expectations.
Exquisite landscaping. Better than expected food. Outstanding service. Very clean room. cleaned daily. Entertainment well done. Outstanding coffee bar. Spotless, larger than life pool. Stunning coral reef. Very nice beach raked daily. Variety of excursions offered. Ready to go again next winter. My luggage got lost on the way to the Camaguai airport. I got a generous compensation. Luggage got delivered to the hotel no problem. I recommend this place!!

Really a 3 star hotel but a 10 star plus camping!
The beach was like most beaches in Cuba, amazing! Soft sand, clear waters and lots of chairs with the palm leafed umbrellas. The hotel is not too big and everything is located around the center pool area. The lobby, the rooms, the coffee bar, the stage right at the pool and the snack bar are all located around the pool. Easy to navigate and we were less than 3 minutes to our room from the beach. The exercise room is not up to par, equipment is old, not working or missing pieces. No free hand weights, no mats, no water dispenser, no clips for the plates on the lifting bar and the bench press is bolted into one position only. Now when In Cuba, you may get no toilet seats on the toilet, so squat. You may have a broken chain to flush your toilet in your room but it has been repaired with a fishing line and you pull on the knob. The beds are foam but great after a long day out in the beautiful sun! Slept like babies. There seemed to be a creature defecating on my balcony lawn chair so I just swooshed it off. There is plenty of food if you love seafood and fish, wish we do not. But, we could always find chicken, pork or beef. You can ask the chef to refry meats that are not up to your standards. Lots and lots of salads and always rice and beans for gluten free individuals. If you are into eating omelets, pancakes, or fresh spaghetti, you are in luck but plan to wait. It is a long process. Do not look for jam, peanut butter or Nutella but you can bring your own if you like. There were several special buffet nights since we were there at Carnival time and Valentine's Day! Food piled sky high! I did see a complete cow splayed out including its tail being barbecued on a metal bed support hanging on ropes. It has presently turned me into a vegetarian. The pool is super active with music and activities if that is your seen. Lots of security but you should bring your own towel to the beach. There seems to be towel theft and if you lose yours, you must pay $25.00 which is about $34.50 when converted. Using your own towel helps you reserve and find your chair. Coffee bar was amazing. My husband drank Spanish coffees endlessly and there were herbal teas for caffeine free lovers. We loved our trip because we needed to get away and we had the same sun and beach of any other hotel whether it is a 5 star or a 3 star, we all have the same weather. We would go back for sure. If you need everything perfect and can't accept a few not so perfect standards, then it might not be your thing. If you love the outdoors and camping then we rate it a 10 star plus experience. We had everything we needed and got amazing tans, made friends, we did not starve were safe and did not starve! The staff were very, very accommodating. One hour and 5 minutes drive to arrive to hotel from airport but one and half hours to return due to locals on bikes, and horses and carts on the street. Transat was an excellent resource person and always available.

Not bad....
Only one bottle of water given at arrival. The rest of the time I had to refill the empty bottle at the lobby or snack bar. The layout was pretty good. Always something on the go. The disco was off the resort and had to pay for drinks there. No free drinks at disco. The best pool that I've ever seen in Cuba. Very clean and deep. The ocean was very shallow. Almost had to walk a 1/4 mile to find deep water. Food was good for Cuba.

Brisas Santa Lucia review
This trip was a dream. I felt as safe and taken care of as royalty. The staff and locals treated us so well and provided all luxuries. Good food, great weather, and a comfortable facility. I met people from all ages groups and family types. Everyone got along and created a magical space that felt genuine, real and separate from 'home'. The Kiting and Snorkelling were exciting and picturesque. I Couldn't ask for cleaner rooms. The 8-day stay was a rejuvenation and I hope to return again someday.

This was my 16th visit to Brisas Santa Lucia. To say the staff and the resort is great is being modest. The food was good and plenty of variety ... the staff are pleasant, friendly and always remember a face. The resort is well groomed and clean. The room always had hot water and a/c. The celebrations on Christmas Eve and New Years were superb. Special shout out to the entertainment staff Carlito, Roly, Luigi, Jesus, and Judy, Maikel the best darn omelette, egg, pasta and pizza maker, Lenor and Saida in the dining room and of course Birmania. The repeat guest lunch was amazing. Can't wait for my 17th trip!!!

Brisas Sata Lucia Terrible Resort
In approximately 20 trips to Cuba, I can honestly say this is absolutely the worst hotel I have ever visited - the food was very poor with little or no selection, how could they run out off eggs for breakfast - they ran out of both white and red wine several times. - All of the prepared food was cold, I know it is hard to keep large trays of food hot, but it is expected to be at least warm, most of this food was at room temperature including rice, chicken and scrambled eggs. The entertainment was almost non existent with only a very limited evening show during the day there did not appear to be any organized sports or entertainment - The hotel was only at approximately 30 % of capacity, yet the only room available for me was on the 3rd floor, of course there was no elevator - Although they advertised Internet access they had no internet access cards available, it was approximately 1 Km off site to the store to purchase an internet access card. After walking to the outlet I was then informed that I could not purchase a card without a passport. So I had to repeat my walk. Approximately 70 % of the guests were Cuban, the staff was much more interested in socializing with their fellow Cubans than serving customers. Waits of several minutes were not uncommon while they socialized. The only positive item about the hotel was the rooms were clean and the bathrooms were quite modern with ample hot water and had an excellent air conditioning system. On my last day I asked for a 5:30 AM wake up call, They marked it into the book, but nobody bothered to call. Yes I will continue to go to Cuba, but never again to this hotel Ken Bannerman 905 844-8814

Disappointing Vacation
This was a mediocre resort at best. I have not had a vacation for many years and was looking forward to getting away. Most staff were friendly and helpful, but I found the front desk staff were very rude. The food at the buffet was best during breakfast, but no very good at all for lunch or dinner. Not impressed one evening by three entertainment staff posing just inside the buffet restaurant and encouraging guests to stick money on their oiled-up body. Did not have a chance to dine at any of the à la carte restaurants since there was never space for our group of 6. Pool area was clean and lounge chairs were available most times. Beach area was nice, but there was quite a bit of seaweed. Entertainment provided in the evenings was okay. However, there were several prejudiced skits and comments made. Overall, it was a disappointing vacation.

Good first resort
This was our first time at an all-inclusive resort. We were here on our honeymoon during the last week of January 2016. The grounds and beach were beautiful; Staff was out every day raking up the seaweed on the beach and maintaining the gardens. Plenty of chairs and spots available at both oceanside and poolside. Food was decent (buffet) and Cuban à la carte restaurant was fantastic! Staff friendly and helpful. Entertainment poolside was fun but nightly entertainment was kind of boring. Our only real complaint though is that our room didn't have hot water (ice cold!) and the air conditioner was stuck on high without any way to turn it off. We froze our first night so we asked to switch rooms the next morning. They accommodated easily and without hassle. Our new room still didn't have any hot water at all the entire time (it was cool but not icy) but at least we could control the air in this one. We were in a country where a lot of its population doesn't even have running water, and we knew that going in, so we weren't about to complain again about ours not being hot. The air in the first room was our biggest concern. Other than that, it was a lovely experience with great sun and heat, fabulous mojitos, and friendly people. One more small note though: our tour operator told us they would provide breakfast to us before we left since our bus was leaving for the airport at 5:30am and all restaurants were closed at that time. They did not feed us, and our flight was then delayed 3 hours. the airport only had $8 pringles or pre-packaged ham sandwiches. Be warned. Bring snacks on your way back!

This was our first time staying at Brisas Santa Lucia and our first time in Cuba. We loved the grounds, especially the beach. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was underwhelming - adequate but that's it. We had a lovely little deck but they couldn't provide deck chairs. While everything was included, they provided us with just 3 bottles of water. When we requested more, they refused. We even tried to trade in the free booze in our room but they would not provide us with bottled water! The food was a huge disappointment. While we did have a couple of delicious meals, they were in restaurants that required a reservation or a special event.
