My husband and I enjoyed our stay here.The buffet had lots of variety and was very good and well taken care of. We were able to access our buffet and the other buffets at the neighbouring resorts. I especially enjoyed the coffee machines at all buffets. We went to 4 restaurants and enjoyed our meals each night especially our Japanese meal. I would like to say this resort needs beach umbrellas (this resort does not have any!) my husband and I are fair skinned and there is very little places to set up under a canopy. We did find one spot to rent a cabana and did so each day at an extra cost. Our room was basic but very clean and was well taken care of when housekeeping came. Overall I would recommend this resort.

Great property with amazing clean, great Wifi, access to multiple pools, services are amazing. Property has its own mall, handicrafts stalls, go carting, discotheque and other amenities, no need to step out. Above all, great pricing and only one drive from Cancun airport. Vegetarian food choices can be further improved

There’s a lot to say about the Barcelo maya beach. We booked early to save price as we are also going to Asia for 2 weeks in August (Taiwan) . The resort was great from the reception desk onwards, check in was quick with friendly staff, no issues checking in, room was in the Uxmul building which is perfect for being central to everything, we were in room 3319 facing the Barcelo maya Caribe. We had a garden view which I was more than happy with. Food everywhere was extensive, the pool restaurant at Rancho Grande was a lot more than I’m used to. Staff are amazing and always upbeat, there’s no pool music booming all day like the resort next door to us providing the option to do both. We have 4 resorts where we have full access to visit, drink and eat at all 4. Smoking on the property is fine, there are ashtrays all over the grounds and an ashtray on your balcony or patio. Buffet servers were fantastic ,we had 2 that stood out, Joel Rodriquez for breakfast, and Armando Reyes for dinner, both were amazing.

Barcello resorts are special…several hotels together give many options for eating and relaxing with friends and family! Pools are amazing! They are huge, so there is a place for everyone to enjoy. The beach is beautiful with palm trees providing shade. Great place to snorkel and see turtles. Food was great! Staff were attentive and helpful.

Huge resort. Common areas very modern. Rooms dated but clean and functional. Buffets had something for everyone. A la carte restaurants were fabulous and you could book all for week not one day at a time. We did private transfer to and from airport- A really good idea. Beaches were perfect. They looked after any seaweed early in the AM. Lots of chairs. Bring water shoes or buy at resort for a premium. Staff were fine, we didn't tip at breakfast or lunch as we received no service. Seemed to be more staff at dinner buffet.

We had the best stay at the Barcelo Maya Beach Resort. The beaches were beautiful..there are some rocks near the shore, but once past them the water is crystal clear. Best snorkeling is off the pier. Our stay allowed access to 4 resorts, we mostly visited Barcelo Beach and Barcelo Caribe since everything we needed was there, including a shopping mall, casino, and a 24-hour sports bar. The staff were friendly and never pushy. The pools were large with swim-up bars and daily entertainment, and the adult pool was a great place to relax! Chairs fill up early (around 8am), so putting a towel out in the morning helps. The bracelet room key was so convenient! The buffet food was decent, but à la cartes were the best. A great resort - we will definitely return!

The Resort was beautiful! Lots of pools and beach space. We never had to worry about finding chairs. Buffet food was good. Al a cart restaurants were fantastic! My only suggestions would be to upgrade rooms, they are out dated and provide more service at the pools for drinks and snacks.

But it is a mixed of , adult and family with children little bit too crowded at the swimming pool and and at beach area. Also I am not much impressed about food. The alcohol drinks are the cheapest grade so I couldn’t drink at all.

We enjoyed staying at this resort. The beds were super comfortable, the food was pretty good and we loved being able to go to numerous different restaurants. I also loved being able to order martinis from the restaurants and the lobby bar! When we had a problem with our air conditioning, they fixed it right away, which we really appreciated. We spent most of our time at the pool at the Barcelo May Caribe resort, which was livelier with music and entertainment. The pool at our resort had more younger children. Everything was great at our resort, except for the beach. The were a lot of large boulders and numerous smaller rocks on the ocean floor, especially where you first try to get into the water, which made getting into and out the water to be very anxiety-provoking (even wearing water shoes). We ended up only going to the beach one day because of this, and I normally love to constantly be on the beach and swim in the ocean. If you are looking for a nice beach and want to leisurely swim in the ocean, this is not the resort for you!

The food was good, beach is nice, and the pool activities were fun. I loved that the resort itself is small, but all the other Barcelo resorts on the grounds are available and accessible, which gives you so much more to see and do without ever leaving the grounds! We were told about the sea turtles at the pier, but didn’t get to swim up to them because it was too windy. Would definitely come back here again for a longer stay.

This place is huge! More than a half hour walk from side to side! The grounds are meticulously kept and its all very beautiful! The whole resort is very clean. The first couple days there was some sort of music festival nearby so you heard loud club music pounding from noon to 10pm. During this time the buffets were mad houses with people crashing into each other. One night there was a party with music so loud it rattled thr coffee mugs in my room from several hotels away. It went till. Almost 3 am! Was not happy with this at all and I overheard alot of people at the front desk complaining about it. The ocean beach is beautiful but the water is murky and full of rocks and boulders.

Hotel was very clean and well manicured. The service was top notch and food was delicious. Our Trip Central advisor, O'Neil, was highly effective and proactive. Beach was great but you need water shoes to get into the water.

it was one of the best resort experiences I’ve ever had. The property is absolutely stunning .surrounded by palm trees, turquoise water, and beautifully maintained pools. There were so many places to relax, from the beach loungers to the swim-up bars. The pools were always clean, spacious, and perfect for cooling off under the sun. The all-inclusive package made everything stress-free. The food options were fantastic — plenty of variety with different restaurants and buffets. The drinks were top-notch too, with bartenders who were always friendly and generous with their pours. I especially enjoyed sipping cocktails by the pool while watching the waves. The staff were amazing — always smiling, attentive, and ready to help with anything. The entertainment team kept the energy up with fun activities during the day and great shows at night. My room was spotless, comfortable, and offered a lovely view.

Where to start. We booked for Beach but were moved to Caribe with no explanation. Reception spoke no English and didn't explain anything. Bellhop left our bags by the road and disappeared. Buffet is freezing cold and loud, food was consistently bad. Not a single quiet spot to sit, loud music everywhere. Had to get our toilet fixed 3 times and it still made a loud whistling sound at night. Some staff were nice, others were cold and unhelpful. Not worth the price. They advertise the bowling alley and the wave pool but none of it's included and the prices are extortionate. $50 USD for some sunscreen at the shops. The mall as well was a nightmare. You walk into the lobby and immediately are faced with a gigantic screen playing ads 24/7. We spent our whole vacation at Colonial which was leagues better.

I recently stayed at Barceló Maya Beach Resort for a 3-day trip, and it was an absolute disaster from the moment we checked in. I booked this resort based on the glowing 4.7-star reviews and the fact that it’s listed as a 5-star hotel on Google. That rating is completely misleading – I now believe many of those reviews must be fake. This trip was meant to be a special celebration for my friend’s birthday. Instead, it turned into a frustrating, poorly managed experience. Here’s why: • Terrible Transportation: No buggies available anywhere. The only shuttle bus between lobbies runs every 25 minutes, making it extremely inconvenient just to move around the resort. • Faulty Air Conditioning: Our room was hot and uncomfortable. Even after multiple complaints, nothing was done. • Staff Don’t Act on Issues: While the staff were polite, they consistently failed to take action. It felt like we were just being pacified and ignored. • The Food is a Joke: For a resort in Mexico, there was no authentic Mexican food. No tacos. No spice. No flavor. Just bland, low-quality buffet food. The “all-inclusive” option is misleading — it covers only buffet and snack bars. Most à la carte restaurants are paid, and even the paid ones were awful. • Birthday Ruined: I had arranged a birthday cake and wine through guest services, and they assured us the cake would be delivered to our room at 7 PM. We waited. No one came. At 8 PM we called to check, and they casually said the request wasn’t valid because it wasn’t made 24 hours in advance — even though they confirmed it themselves earlier! Totally unacceptable. • Beach Was Dirty: The beach was a huge letdown. It looked beautiful in the photos, but in reality, it was not clean. There were strange red deposits all along the shore – not sure what it was, but it made the water look uninviting and the experience unpleasant. • Pool Bar Chaos: The pool bar had only two staff members serving a huge crowd. We had to wait over 15 minutes just to get a drink. On a hot vacation day, that’s the last thing anyone wants. • The Only Good Thing – Spa: The spa was the only part of this resort that met expectations. Clean, professional, relaxing. Everything else was below 2-star quality. This place does not deserve a 4.7-star rating. If you’re considering it for a special occasion, please look elsewhere. I wouldn’t go back here even for free.

Pros: + The hotel is beautiful, clean, and very well kept. + The pools are great and the beach is lovely. + Facilities are top notch. + The staff is friendly and welcoming, for the most part. Cons: - The food was sub par. Not just the buffet, also the restaurants. We were hoping for some nice dishes and fresh ingredients, but it felt like the dining experience was aimed at the lowest North American standard. Also, not everything was refilled. If you came in to eat later than 30 minutes after doors opened, there were things you couldn’t get. - Shower pressure was on and off. - A lot of activities came with an additional price tag, and not a cheap one at that. - There wasn’t much to do in the evening / at night.

The resort is very nice, with a good selection of food and well-maintained grounds. However, the rooms and bathrooms could use some updates, as they have been in use for the last 25 years and are showing signs of wear. The pools are the nicest I have ever seen—very clean and spacious enough for the kids to enjoy safely. One downside was being transported to the resort in an old van from the airport, and the driver asked for a tip. While we are all prepared to tip the staff for good service, we do not appreciate being asked for it directly.

This resort is immaculate. The grounds are prestige. There is more than enough to keep the whole family entertained. We did not feel.that we needed to go.off resort for anything. We have spent years traveling to all inclusive resorts. By far the best. For the.most part food was very good Although Spanish and surprisingly Mexican were not very good.

The resort grounds are beautiful with so many choices for things to do. We loved the variety of restaurants and pools and found the service very attentive. The reservation system for restaurants is a little frustrating but in the end we were able to grab 4 reservations for a la carte dinners which were all very good. We spent most of our days by the pool but the beach was just as fun. We loved walking to the pier to check out the fish. We love walking so having the mall, the mexican shop and the mini putt, as well as access to the other 3 resorts was fantastic and having the double decker bus if we got tired was helpful as well. The rooms are dated but overall had everything we needed. We earned our meals walking up and down to the third floor each time. Overall this resort was a win!

Quite disappointing stay. If you wake up, have breakfast, and go to the beach for 8:30 am GOOD LUCK finding a chair until like 3 pm. We walked around across the entire beach and couldn’t even find one free chair. People wake up early and claim chairs with their items or beach towels. Some people don’t even show up until 11 am!! Employees weren’t very helpful and said that you can’t take a claimed chair, even if no one shows up for hours (even though there’s signs saying you can’t claim a chair). Same situation at the pool. Had to sit on the floor with our towels. Apart from that, you walk by a sad dolphin enclosure where the dolphins swim in a small pool with no shade. Very depressing to see and it’s sad that this type of animal treatment is still present. If you search up the dolphins at this hotel, you’ll find out that a few had died here. Generally, resort was clean and well kept, but old. Our bathtub didn’t drain well when you took a shower. The beach itself is pretty nice and well kept. Food was average to good and generally a decent selection. We did get upset stomachs one day, unclear from what exactly. If you love sad dolphins and a going to war to find a place to sit during the day, this resort is a great choice for you.

Exceptional resort with professional and friendly staff. Excellent selection at the buffets which were always stocked with fresh food. Was able to book all the a la cart restaurants but must do so as soon as you check in because they fill up fast and ideal times were limited. Only issue with the room was the patio glass door, very hard to open and would slip off its tracks.

We stayed at the Barcello Maya Beach Resort located about one hour from Cancun. It is part of the Grand Maya Resort consisting of six hotels. Stay at one, play and eat at them all. The hotel and its grounds are very well kept. Staff are friendly and helpful. The buffet has everything to eat and offers a daily variance. The other speciality restaurants are all really good and have to be booked in advance. We really liked the Italian Trattoria, seafood, second Italian restaurant and the Spanish Il Fuente one. There are numerous, connecting pools and water parks for the children from one end of the resort to the other. You can walk from each of them or travel on the “red bus” to reach each destination.The beach and ocean was also wonderful to experience for the break from the northern climate in February. There are length pools, mini golf, basketball, shuffleboard, and. Daily activities to partake in. We loved it all!

asked 4 times for room close to restaurants so on, because family member trouble walking given room as far away as could be told we are to busy .so my daughter gave us her room also different hotel what hotel has 400 beach chairs for 3000 guests. did nt get seat on plane that we paid 90 dollars for we waited in terminal 25 min for rep to show up . asked policeman for help . bus when found was parked 500 yard away from terminal instead of out front . when returning bus driver would not let my wife or my family on bus even thought all check in as requested nexus rep had to shout at him to let family on bus theres more but you live you learn ive been all round the world lived in 4 different continents. ps smaller is better.

The grounds are kept neatly trimmed & watered. The hallways are scrubbed daily. Rooms are a good size; a/c worked well, good shower, lots of closet space. Seaweed is raked off the beach every morning Beach chairs are scarce some days as guests at the other hotels use the beach at the Maya Beach hotel…it’s the best beach. Buffets are the usual, food is plentiful. The entertainment was disappointing compared to prior years. We found that the main & beach buffets seemed to be short staffed. Service was not as good as in the least, nor were they as friendly. The pool we used occasionally was big, with shallower sections. They can get quite noisy as the day goes & more drinks are consumed! We prefer the beach/ocean. The a la carte that we tried were delicious! Highly recommend the seafood one. Book as soon as you can after arrival.

We just returned from a family vacation at the Barcelo Maya Beach. We stayed in a premium king suite it included two single daybeds, which were perfect for my two girls ages eight and 10. Staff were attentive. The resort was spotless, and the food was amazing. I highly recommend this resort or any of the other Barcelo resorts on this property.

We've been to this hotel many times and it never fails to make us happy. The staff are always happy and accommodating. Pools are huge and clean. The food like pretty much all AIs, is fine. There is so much variety that you'll always find something you like. Had steak at the Japanese restaurant and it was really good! This was our first time there over the Christmas holidays, and for the first time in all of our visits, we had to play pool/ beach chair game. If you weren't up and getting a chair by 7:45, it was really hard to find a chair. We had a great time and will be back again.

This is my second time at this resort and probably the last. The first time, we stayed at the Maya Palace. Everything was great, except for the rooms with paper-thin walls. This time, we stayed at the Maya Beach. The bathroom was dirty and smelly. There would be a very strong smell of sewage when we turn on the tap water. There was no water in the toilet tank to flush it in the middle of the night, and it would make a lot of noise in the early hours when the tank was filling. The rooms have the same paper-thin walls as in the Maya Palace and the other hotels in the complex. My niece had to call security two nights in a row because the people above her room were partying all night. You can easily hear the conversations of your neighbours. There’s also the constant door slamming, and it’s really loud. This gets bothersome at night. The beach is beautiful with lots of palm trees, but the sewage smell is also in the ocean. I stepped on something one day (probably raw sewage) and I was immediately surrounded by a nauseating aroma. Another day, it was impossible to swim without having the smell of sewage all around us. Sewage tanks are located near the adult only pool bar El Cielito. The smell was unbearable some days. The pools are really nice. My only issue is with parents who think that’s it’s ok to let their kids play with their inflatable donuts in the lap pool. There’s only one, so leave it to the people who want to swim laps. There is a huge pool right beside it for kids to play. We enjoyed the fact that the complex wasn’t overcrowded, and we were able to reserve at some à la carte restaurants. I highly recommend the Mexican and the Traditional Japanese (and the French if staying at the Palace). Nevertheless, we made the most of our vacation. Will I come back for a third time? Unless the sewage issues are resolved, probably not.

The resort itself was very nice. No complaints about food and cleanliness etc. What was odd was lack of staff engagement and helpfulness. When we arrived after a long flight (it was Christmas day) nobody greeted us at the resort. There was no welcome drink etc. Nobody told us about where things were etc. In addition we couldn't even get into our rooms until 3pm. We were lucky to be able to book 4 a la carte restaurants. We were flexible around eating times. But very little availability. We didn't really get a lot of options for choices. Luckily all of the restaurants we went to were very good. The pool and beach area were likely our biggest issue. There were not enough lounge chairs, no sun umbrella's on the beach.. just trees. People would put towels down and leave for hours - this was not supposed to be allowed. You could not find a spot (despite signs saying this was not allowed - no staff members enforced this rule). In fact good luck finding staff. The pool bar was so understaffed. Huge lineups at the pool bar. Also there were no places where you could take food with you. They would not let you take food out of the buffet. So weird that you could not have lunch at the pool or beach. No lunch or afternoon pool side food. No drink service at the beach or pool. I've never experienced that at an all inclusive resort. Also room service was not included. It felt like staff didn't want to be there. They spoke to you only if you asked them something. At the buffet in the morning, nobody greeted you or had mimosas waiting etc. I could sit for five-10 minutes before I could get someone to take a coffee order or bring water. It was ridiculous. We did have a great vacation but not because of how staff made us feel. It's hard to complain when you are on a warm beach. We made our own fun etc. Did several excursions. I don't think I would choose this resort again.

Went with a large group for a wedding, half of the group got severe food poisoning. Super unfriendly staff. Very outdated. The pools were warm and dirty, the beach was very nice. Had to walk very far for towels also, about a 1.5 hr shuttle from airport

We stayed at the Barcelo Beach Resort in Riviera Maya. Unfortunately we were placed in a room that had a broken air conditioner and when we brought this up with management they told us that it would be fixed. They said that the hotel is fully booked and they cant move us over to another room unless we are willing to upgrade to a premium suite. It is very dissapointing that Barcelo was not able to solve our AC issue for the entire stay and we had a temperature of 28 C in our room which was unbearable. If it wasnt for the ceiling fan we wouldn't be able to sleep. Vey disappointed with the Barcelo staff and management who were unable to provide a solution and instead wanted to make us spend more money on a room upgrade.

Overall we found the resort really nice. We stayed at the Maya Beach but preferred the Colonial. It has a bigger kids water park too. In terms of service sometimes the lines were too long at the buffet and the staff didn’t always come to serve us. Also the times are limited to book the a la carte restaurants which was a little frustrating. The food and drink selection was really good overall. Would definitely recommend this place. The beach had sea weed and wasn’t calm. There were a few days when it wasn’t too rough and the water was great for swimming but that was only for a few days out of our entire stay.

This is my second time to this resort and I was so excited to return after having such an amazing time 4 years ago. I am extremely disappointed with this resort now. The service was terrible, most mornings my partner and I would eat a full breakfast before any server even offered us water. Bartenders are swim up bars were very slow and most wait times were around 10 min for a drink. The staff consistently seemed like we were bothering them. Heavily tipping did nothing, we were still Ignored most of the time. We also had to beg to have our room cleaned. We stayed for 7 days and only had our room cleaned twice even though we put the “clean” sign on the door and left tips every day. I am very sad to say that I will not be returning

At first glance... the lobby is beautiful, grounds are very well maintained. Staff are great , friendly and some what accommodating. And by somewhat... for an " all inclusive " we were hard pressed to get diet pop and water in our rooms- some requested were not even filled with 2 calls made. And when we did get pop ... and when we did get pop it was 2 at a time. Buffet good was ok at best. Al la carts... the best one was Tokyo! Building Coba - the room we stayed in was dated - make up mirror was held on by band aids, curtains had mold spots. Pools were great-bar staff were good at making drinks - but not very friendly. Overall- beautiful grounds and somewhat friendly staff. Would I go back.... no

We booked with a group for a wedding and weren't in the same building as the other 40 guests. Lots of members of our group had room issues. Staff were not friendly at all, food was nothing to write home about. Many members of our group ended up with bad GI issues while on the resort. I have never been to a resort where there were lines of people waiting to be served at the bar. The pool bar was the worst many people got out of the pool to get their drinks. Premium status meant nothing you were ignored just the same. Entertainment was nonexistent, no music in the pools or activities many people brought their own speakers to listen to music. I do NOT recommend this hotel for the money go to Jamaica where you will enjoy everything about your trip.

The grounds, public areas and pools are just fine. Food was always fresh and there were plenty of choices from seafood and different kinds of meat and salads to vegetarian options. The buffet restaurant was always clean and the waiters and waitresses were always kind and attentive. The hotel was always clean as well as the room. Noseless AC was also a good addition. The only my concern is, but it was very important to me, that during 4 nights some guests who lived close to my room were very noisy after midnight and 3 or 4 times on different nights I had to call to the front desk and ask to send the security to calm those guests down. Yes,the security were coming quickly and the noise was stopped for some time but after a couple of hours those guys were starting to shout and yell again. So,as a result my 3 nights were just sleepless. But thanks to the young man Jesus by name who work at the front desk of Barceló Maya who helped me to change my room and the hotel and the rest of my vacation was just fine. I am very grateful to him for his exceptional support and kindness. To my opinion he is the best. I really will be glad to see him again when I come for my next vacation.

Hi Nicole thanks for your service it worked well at the airports and arriving at the resort and leaving. Not impressed with resort it was spread out too much a lot of walking just too big. Rooms are falling apart air conditioning hardly worked patio door would hardly open bathrooms was falling apart. Not impressed. They charged us 120$us for sunscreen deodorant and 2 toothbrushes a total ripoff. Not impressed wouldn’t go back. I would definitely use you as a travel agent. Thanks Doug Moore

The beach at Maya Beach was excellent, very clean and seaweed was cleaned up everyday. There was only a little bit in the water. The rooms were a bit dated but clean. We had amazing service from all of the staff. The a-la-carte restaurants were amazing with the exception of the Steakhouse (food was cold and service was terrible). Buffets were ok for lunch and breakfast. We tried the snack bars but food was not great. The best bartender is located at the lobby bar and her name is Maria, she makes the best drinks. My only complaint was we had to have our room card reprogrammed over 15 times during our 10 day stay. Several guests were in the same boat as us.

I cannot express how impressed my husband and I were We have traveled for many years to the Caribbean. This was by far the best resort we have ever stayed at. The food was amazing..Grounds were beautiful. Amenities were too many to list.

This resort had gorgeous ,well kept grounds. This huge resort is made up of 6 individual Barcelo resorts, and has so much to do, would highly recommend it for families with kids and young teens. The Barcelo Maya Beach resort, is definitely not as nice as the others. The food and buffet was sub par, however you can go to the other buffets Colonial & Tropicale & Palace were much better. Ambiance and service was even better there. 2 nice adult only pools for a bit of a reprieve from the busy main pools. The beach was nice and snorkelling was actually decent right off shore. Many stingrays and barracuda. There were not enough bartenders for the # of guests, always lineups. Generally a nice place if you like enormous resorts. I would definitely choose the Maya Tropicale or Colonial over the Maya Beach. We heard that the " adult only" Barcelo Maya Riviera was very good, and is also on this property

A huge resort - six resorts in one. Lots of pools. There is a dolphin pool area which you can participate in ($) or just watch. Many a la carte restaurants but because we were there during US spring break it was difficult to make reservations. Resort is well taken care of. Lots of beach access but no beach umbrellas or other sources of shade. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Because of the size of the resort there is a shuttle bus to help get around. Food in all the restaurants was good with a lot of variety.

Frustrating with the check in, staff could not provide us with the 2 queen beds that was agreed on. We tried every day to switch rooms to no avail. The commication between the front reception staff was terrible they promised to bring a cot to accommodate my son as he is very tall and too big for a pullout couch. I had to remind them over and over . I was trying to stay positive and relax something I really wanted to do all year. Our alacarts were booked as early I a could at check in but got 10 pm and 9 pm dinners witch was too late. Also disappointing. Ground s were beautiful, ocean gorgeous. Not enough bar staff-at the pools. Huge lines to get beverages. Some very rude. Good food lots of it. Always something to eat. Tons to do

The Barcelo resort itself is beautiful. This was our 10th time there over the last 15 years. The trouble is that some rooms are showing their age - Furniture coming apart, plumbing issues... We booked the Beach (updated) but were bumped to the Tropical. The service has gone down in the buffets, especially the beach restaurants and selection diminished. While unfortunate, if you can get a good deal it is still worth going to the resort.

I’ll leave my hotel review for trip advisor and leave this space for Trip Central/Air Transat. Either the hotel, Transat or TC, tried to downgrade us to the Tropical section of the hotel. It took a lot of phone calls to all 3 entities, but I managed to get us back in to Maya Beach. Our rooms weren’t next to each other after the switchback, but that was a small comprise to get back to the section that we paid more for. It’s common in Trip Advisor reviews for people to get downgraded from Beach/Caribe to Tropical/Colonial. This is my second time flying club class with Air Transat and it will be my last. Their seats have an odd, (and hard) curvature to them that are painful to sit for hours. And meal options are non-existant. Breakfast was a ham and cheese croissant or scrambled eggs. I tried to find a vegan option online and even called in advance to arrange a vegan meal but it’s just not possible. Air Canada will accommodate you. Coming home they offered a pasta dish stuffed with squash but no way to get it without cheese. Air Transat planes need a refurbish, and to update their meals. Considering the price of club class, it’s a bit of a joke.

Very nice resort. The food was delicious, rooms were clean and the staff were very friendly. The snorkeling was phenomenal, we seen stingrays, turtles and many other sea creatures. We will be going back for sure.

We came to this resort as another family member booked it. We booked a regular room and were hoping to upgrade or get a second room but we were told it was sold out and to come back few days later. We went back few days later but we could not be offered anything better or another room again. We might be spoiled but we found the food not very good, repetitive and not flavourful. We had to wait for 3 days to get our first a la carte which was essentially the same kitchen shared with the buffet. The service was also lacking. We often came to the buffet an hour or so from opening. There was no cutlery on the tables and we had to wait for any type of service. Our highlight was our last a la carte at Italian restaurant Capri. Our waitress, Navitidad, provided the best service that we experienced at the resort. The beach was rocky and few members of our family hurt their toes. The best part of this resort are the beautiful grounds and activities. If you do not care for service, food, or ability to upgrade your room, go for it. We will be looking elsewhere for our vacation next year.

Great resorts with lots to do. Our rooms were a bit dated but we expected that. They are also using key cards for your rooms, make sure not to have these anywhere near your cellphone. We went day after day because our card would not allow us into our room to the point we were beyond frustrated. It took one of the maids walking by our rooms to tell us "no cell phone" not sure why no one at the front desk mentioned this to us after the third day we went back to get a new card. They change your sheets only on request with a card on your bed, other then that they just make your beds. Same with towels leave them on floor or they will not change them. They never refilled our ridge in our room the whole time we were there, not sure if we had to ask or what but it was never done even on days we wanted our sheets changed. A lot of water parks across each resort for the kids but there was one that they promote most on their sites, I think it was the pirate something, that is located with the flow rider that cost money. I knew the flow rider cost extra but I couldn't find any mention of that water park in particular costing extra. But be ready at least in December, the weather is hot but the pool is COLD. The go karts are also extra $$ but knew this in advance. It is also only for children over 8 years old to ride with an adult, and you will need proof of that. We didn't bowl but they have a great bowling area with the 24 hour sports bar as well as a small arcade. Buffets were good, nothing extravagant. There was no AC in the buffet areas we visited for breakfast and dinner, which we didn't mind since the evenings were cool. We visited a couple of the a la carte restaurants, the Italian and Mexican and both were delicious. Everything else was booked and you either needed to eat super early or late. The night shows get super busy so if you want a seat get there early. Check in took forever as we got there right when a bus full of travelers landed. The front desk also gives you conflicting information every time you go depending on the person you speak to. I went to the front and asked if they would break down our American money for dollars etc. and they said no. My husband went back the next day and the gentleman did it for him. As well, you can only use cash for tipping or in the market. Everything else on the resort is credit card. The only card that would work for me was Mastercard, not sure if that was a me thing or a resort thing. The bars don't have enough bartenders around the pool areas so get ready for a bit of a line up. There was never more then 1 or at most 2 bartenders at each bar area.

This resort had everything for our family, ages 6 - 70. It is large but not too big. It was full during our stay but not crowded. The a la carte restaurants were the best we have ever eaten at. The resort went all out to celebrate New Year's Eve. We don't smoke but the smoking areas are very tastefully done. On the cool, cloudy days, there was still lots to do with Strikers, mini golf, the fitness centre and the mall. Our only negatives are: The wifi wasn't consist around the resort and the room temperature was not easy to control. Transportation form the airport in Cancun took many hours but the return trip was smooth.

Hello, We staid in standard level of the Maya Beach and our rooms (2) were clean but out dated ( humidity smell in one and water flies in the other one!). We were told that Beach romes were renovated, but I think this applied only the Premium level ones! The Landscape around the building is beautiful, and we always feel safe. the beach is nice and clean, but lots the beach is suffering from erosion and lost of rocks, but still beautiful and enjoyable. Great snorkeling right from the beach! Great vacations, good location is you don't want to leave the resort.

The Barcelo grounds are lovely...food could be improved in the buffet as the warming trays don't keep anything hot. Very difficult to get reservations in the a la carte..lucky to get a 9pm reservation. Check in took over 3 hours...needs improvement. The wait staff are nice but reception needs to work on their people skills and communication. I've been here 6 times but it will be my last sadly unless things change.

The hotel was so clean , staff were very friendly and accommodating . I loved the option to have access to the other resorts as well and their restaurants and facilities. The beaches and pools were amazing and well maintained and the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend and come back !

Great resort with lots to do. Shout out to Judit, Vicktoria and Ilana at the Kessler Dive shop on the property. Went for a wonderful suba dive with Judit. Ilana set me up with jet skiing and was super helpful. Also tried the surf rider. The beach is great in front of this specific resort, although you can use the beach at 3 attached resorts so lots of beachfront. There's also a dolphin enclosure. Date of stay: November 2023

Great place for families, pools very clean. The grounds well Maintained. Staff was very helpful. In the dining room we got to know David , always had our favourite table waiting for us , and our morning beverage order ready

After reading several mixed reviews I was unsure of what to expect. This resort is beautiful. staff were wonderful and hope to return again soon. Ivan asked me my name and remembered me every time I went to the buffet. weather was beautiful. Beach at the beach resort was the best. Food plentiful and good variety. Can't say enough about how amazing the Barcello is.

We stayed at Caribe hotel from Oct 14 to 21. Although booked Beach hotel thru our agent, we were placed at adjacent Caribe hotel based on room availability. Initially we were offered main floor room, but on our request we were given second floor room instead. The initial disappointment turned into a favour. Room location in building 5 was more central in the resort thus closer to beach we used closer to Palace hotel. Extraordinary cleanliness, in seven days have not noticed a piece of trash either on the grounds or in indoor amenities. Friendly helpful staff provided us with great service be it room service, bar service or restaurant service Beach was nice with plenty of shade, clean loungers and easy entry into water since crews were daily correcting washed sections of the shore. Clean beach and bath towels were readily available as needed. Water and refreshments stocked daily in fridge. Loved stake house dining. Would surely return to this resort for beach, room, food and service. Found the transfer from Cancun airport to be in access of 90 minutes rather than advertised 65 minutes.

This was my second visit to Barcelo Maya Riviera resort. The first one just before the covid which was a fantastic experience, this was a bit different. You can see that they are still recovering from the covid era. We stayed at Maya Beach hotel that has the short walking distance to probably the best beach of this resort. Rooms desperately need TLC, proper cleaning, paintin, maintenance, light bulbs were burnt etc... and elevator wasn't working most of our stay, which wasn't a problem for us only if you need to carry a heavier bags or for someone with moving disability. Food was better before covid but still good variety. Barcelo now offers a free wifi around resort. Still lots of things to do. We paid quite a bit for this stay (comparing to my first visit) so I expected a little more.

We recently stayed at the Barcelo Maya Beach Resort, we had a great vacation - 5 nights with our kids 3.5 and 1.5 years of age. The check in process was quite slow but I had read that prior to going so was prepared. The rooms were average resort rooms - nothing fancy but met all of our needs. We had booked a ground floor room due to bringing a stroller but found out there were elevators so could have stayed higher if we wanted to. The food was average resort food, lots of options and flavours. Our kids loved the soft serve ice cream machines that were located in the buffet as well as the lunch snack bars at each resort. The kids pools located at the Maya beach and the Caribe were perfect for our little ones, allowed us to sit on the edge of the pool and be within reach when needed but we were also able to relax. Drinks were delicious, although if the bar was busy it was sometimes difficult to get service - but they’re trying their best. Only cons which weren’t really even “cons” but the main buffet didn’t open for dinner until 6:30pm so our kids snacked in the room before dinner and the nightly entertainment didn’t start until 9:30 which we missed due to wanting to keep our kids on a normal sleep routine. There wasn’t a kids show prior at an earlier time which would have been nice. Overall we loved the resort and would return in a heartbeat!

Pros: Beach, Food Areas, Pools. Con's: Lobby is super busy at check in, can wait 20-60mins to be done. Room are noisy, Can hear Neighbors and Hallway noise is loud. Water Sports lineup is long, can wait 30mins lineup in son for Tricycle. We got Food Poisoning on 5th day, was horrible. Shuttle talks long, sometimes waiting 20-30mins in front resort.

Beautiful resort well laid out , lots of choices from entertainment to food . Service is slow to some time non existent be prepared to yell if you want service . Everything in the stores here are extremely overpriced

The hotel grounds and facilities were lovely. Lots of activities on offer. Would have liked to have yoga on the beach for all sections, more drinks for diabetics (everything was sweet) but beach was amazing!

We had a wonderful time at this resort, as a family of 3. We worried that our 11 year old might get bored but not the case at all. So many activities available for all to enjoy and shows every night. Food was disappointing, often cold at buffets and little variety (particularly for kids). Was there a bacon shortage in Mexico?? Lol Difficult to get a la carte resos but had a couple of nice meals with exceptional service. Our room was quite dated and not in great repair. Staff was quick to address our most pressing issues in the room. But, was clean, conveniently located and did the trick. Service overall was great and staff worked hard to ensure guests were looked after. Many large groups at this hotel.

Beautiful and well kept grounds with fantastic pools and a prime beach location. Great for family/friends getaways! All a La carte restaurants we booked were fantastic. The buffet was a bit lacking for dinner but was fine for breakfast and lunch. The room was slightly dated but functional and any issues were immediately resolved.

The room was satisfactory as far as sleeping but the maid service was iffy. We had an incident where the maid broke the coffee pot glass in the bath tub/shower and never even cleaned up the glass only got rid of the pot handle and ring. When I phoned the front desk to report this, they said sorry but that was it They never even sent anyone one to pick the glass out of the tub or off the floor and if I had not noticed the glass before getting into the shower, they could have had a problem with someone could have had a very bad cut. We cleaned the glass up ourselves.The cleanliness was not up to my standards but realize we were in Mexico. Some of the restaurants in the resorts were very nice and we really enjoyed them.

The resort is very big. Lots of pools, the mall and markets are fun for shopping. A La carte restaurants were ok, rooms needed updating, buffets were good. Lots of fresh food and we loved the Mexican coffee! Entertainment was good but too loud. Wish they could have turned the volume down a bit. We were a family of 5 and booked two rooms and were disappointed they would not give us two rooms with double beds instead we had to settle for a king and a couch (not a fold out!) We booked two double rooms so our teenagers would have their own beds. Maybe they need more rooms with double beds? My daughter had to sleep on a couch which after paying so much didn’t make us very happy.

The grounds were beautiful and well kept, rooms clean, buffet could be better, ala cartes are great. The biggest problem was the spring break kids partying till 4am every night, slamming doors, screaming etc. I didn't mind one night of it but by the 5th night it was enough.

As a nurse, on vacation, I am now burdened with the concern regarding Covid19 while traveling. The hotel had many hand sanitization stations at main points around the hotel, as well as every entrance in a dining room area. Staff were friendly and the space between us always felt safe. We were able to pick how often our room was cleaned, and upon witnessing the cleaning while walking by other rooms, the housekeeping was thorough and I saw them wipe down high touch areas (even the balcony railings). The food was amazing, I couldn't get enough! I have nothing bad to say, except I wish I had booked a longer vacation because I didn't want to leave.

The Barcelo Maya is a superb all-inclusive resort experience. The buildings and grounds are lovely; food is top-notch and the employees work hard to keep their guests happy. The resort itself is massive but well designed to maintain walkability from one end to the other. There are SO many activities and places to check out, for adults and kids alike - everything a resort vacation should be but often is not. No disappointments here!

Overall, we really enjoyed this resort. We stayed at Beach. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Bar staff at Strickers were especially brave when dealing with the mass of students at the bar. Shout out to Alex, pool bar/Beach, and Jonathan wait staff/Captain Morgan's. Pro's -Gym staff and facilities were top notch -walking around the resort was my favorite past time -loved the theatre and the show's Magic was our favorite -Tokyo and Mexican a la carte were good - beautifully landscaped and looked after - Check in/out were easy - no need for towel key Con's - Spanish and Italian Meh! - Upgrade Very expensive 170 us/night - buffet all the time - everything else extremely expensive ei bowling - Late night no much happening - more dining options would help - need a taxi to get anywhere- no scooter rental

There were many pros & few cons to this resort. PROS: Beautiful & clean, beautiful decor, very friendly staff, very large resort and many areas to explore, mall to do some shopping, double decker bus to take you around the resort, great pools, amazing restaurants with great food. CONS: Dolphin enclosure (animal cruelty), no bar in the main lobby to sit & socialize, poor night entertainment/shows, Playa del Carmen and Cancun are a bit far

The Barcelo Maya Beach Resort and surrounding properties were phenomenal! They were clean, well maintained, offered beautiful gardens, mature trees, fabulous swimming pools, a wonderful selection of restaurants & buffets and plenty of lounge chairs. The beach was beautiful, but some parts were a bit rocky. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to ensure guests had a great experience. As our group was travelling with a young child & infant, we had to be very well organized getting out of our rooms in the morning, as the property was so large it would take us 10-12 minutes to walk from our rooms to the pool/beach. We were always able to get a highchair for the baby, but many times, it did not include a tray table. Despite putting in a request for a crib 7 weeks in advance of our arrival, our room did not have a crib when we arrived. Finally, we found the 40 minute wait going through customs, the 45 minute wait on the shuttle bus and 1 hour drive from the airport to the hotel a bit tiresome with small children, particularly after a 4.5 hour flight and 3 hours in the TO airport prior to boarding.

After 10 hrs journey from Montreal, arrived late in the evening where 2 employee at the reception desk were ignoring lineup for some time, then started slowly to process "customers". Didn't really feel like customer or welcome by attitude of those 2.

The hotel is very outdated, the food is mediocre not a lot of vegetarian options everything is mixed up with meat, u would think being in Mexico you would find good tacos but none, not a lot of seafood either. They tell you that you can use other barcelo resort but once you are there you have to pay extra to eat in the others. Only 4 a la carte but none available for booking. I would not go back there. The beach is very rocky and will hurt you feet.

I am writing this review of the Barcelo Maya Beach Resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. I have been vacationing in Mexico for many years and this is my first stay at this resort. My travel agent advised me that she had a better experience at this resort than the one I have been going to for many years. Unfortunately it did not live up to my expectations. That's not to say that it is a beautiful resort, however, there are a few improvements that must be made to the resort. Before going on my vacation I read numerous reviews about the resort. The negatives that were reviewed were present but not as severe as most mentioned. Again, Barcelo Maya Beach Resort is a beautiful resort. My first disappointment was the food. Not the variety, but how almost all the food displayed in the buffets were cold. Even as they were brought out. I have never experienced that before on a Mayan Riviera resort. Almost all staff was amazing, although a few servers seemed like they gave some attitude (but that's understandable considering the amount of staff they have). I was very kind, thankful and left tips, so it definitely was not from any vibes I was sending to them. The second was the musky smell coming from our room as we entered for the first time. I expect those conditions because of where we are, however, it would make a great first impression if the room smelled better. The grounds were amazingly kept. Very clean. The front desk staff was always very helpful. Thanks Alan. And the pool bar staff was great as well. Shout out to the amazing Rosy. All in all, it was a great stay. My views about this resort are just to make some suggestions on where they could improve, that's all. If it's your first time to Mexico, you can't go wrong staying here. You will be impressed. Unfortunately I have been exposed to a better resort.

Exceptional in so many ways, reminded me of Disney world, staff always behind the scene, there the minute you need anything. A massive property to explore and enjoy with a small resort feel to it, food , beverages entertainment everywhere.

Public areas and grounds are beautiful, numerous pools can accommodate every type of swim activity and the beach is perfect for swimming - just bring sunscreen and your bathing suit. Food is amazing - 6 different restaurants plus numerous buffets ensure that you find something that works for even the picky eater. Rooms are large and comfortable.

Nothing to hate or not love about his resort my kids and I enjoyed it to the max.. and I would recommend it to anyone who has a family and would like to enjoy a good vacation. I highly suggest getting water shoes as the beach is a bit rocky but it’s still beautiful

The check-in times are very long, 15 mins to to take a copy of your passport, and until you are fully checked in they don't even offer you a glass of plain water (which you need after a long trip). And same issues with check-out: takes very long. The sea is very rocky, you can easily break your foot if you make a wrong move just once.

This is a nice resort. There was no entertainment for my kids to participate in. I was waiting for an entertainment group to take my both sons and give the best vacation for them. My room was not cleaned just 1 day and had to call in. The beach was not good, very dirty and smells. If you are not paying attention to where you are walking when inside the water on the beach there are big bumps. The staff were friendly, the restaurants were nice. I would go back if they can clean up the beach. The bar service was not good, i was standing for like 5 minutes and some dudes come and get serviced before me. I have 2 children and a wife to get drinks for and this happening to me turned me off. The weather was good but no proper music to have while sipping a drink while laying down on the chairs at the pool.

My husband and I just arrived back from a holiday at the Barcelo Maya Beach Resort . It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The resort grounds were pristine with staff working continually to make it perfect. All the pools are amazing with different designs in each. Lounge chairs are plentiful making it easy to sit and relax anywhere. The food is excellent in the restaurants and the buffets are good with many different dishes. The staff were all very friendly and front staff helpful. Highly recommend.

The hotel was amazing Super clean, food was excellent and staff was very helpful, it was great that we could use 4 resorts, when we did not have the Al-a Carte we tried all the buffets, beaches were so clean and the pools were spotless We will be going back next year again. We met people that have come back to this resort 10 times. The only thing, which we expected, the shows at night are not great, but again we picked the theater with the best sounding show

Barcelo is a wonderful complex with 5 of their other hotels with complete access. There is lots of included fun stuff, pool, amazing slides for the kids, even free daily dolphin show. Clean and spacious rooms. Friendly and courteous staff. Food and service was fantastic everywhere. The only hiccup was at the check in and check out counter which were excessively long, there was a lack of coordination and a lack of initiative and training as every clerk would refer to this one individual for clarification or would disappear behind the counter for 10-15 minutes at a time. This was also evident throughout our stay. However this did not affect my vacation at Barcelo, would return again.

Stylish. Convenient. Clean. Friendly staff. Exquisite facilities. Beautiful beach and Dolphinarium. Very good for families with children. Everyone can find something to do there. Truly enjoyed the stay.

The staff at the hotel were amazing. The rooms were clean but the mini fridge was rarely restocked with the basics which was disappointing. The night life at the hotel was a huge disappointment and not much was going on. The seaweed was horrific. Did not even swim in the ocean based on how bad the beach was up-kept and used only the pool. They had multiple dump trucks attending the beach to get ride of the significant amount of seaweed daily. The gym on-site was fantastic! Food, meh nothing special. Average at best. If your looking for a family resort this is not the place for you. Music selection at the pool bar had foul and obscene language, which was directly beside the kids pool. Minors were being served alcohol and puking in bushes creating a fantastic smell with the heat *eye roll*. Sometimes waiting for a towel at the pool took 30-40 minutes. Workers just walked away leaving a longline and frustrated people. We also did a boat tour with Adventures Cancun. Save your money. Food was something similar to a school lunch and the drinks were terrible. We were only permitted at the front of the boat and were only served drinks by one staff member. With 30 people on the tour you can imagine the wait times. Overall the resort was meh, I would not return.

This resort exceeded my expectations all around. the property was clean and well maintained. The grounds were perfect. The food was beyond delicious, always lots and great variety. The entire experience with the TripCentral and Air Transat staff was very easy and enjoyable. We had a wonderful time.

The hotel was fantastic because it was so central to everything we wanted to see and do. The entertainment was excellent, but I found it to be a little too short, as the hour flew by. The chicken at the Italian restaurant was the best I'd ever had. Overall, the food was good

We have been traveling to Barceló maya since 2001 2 -3 trips a year till Covid started so for the last 2 years we haven’t been. This trip was horrible, the hotel is short help and it reflects it. Service was bad, all washrooms around the resort were not taken care of, food was ok… management is aware of the situation and can’t do anything about it. Pools were also dirty, beach was ok…We will not be returning for a while with hopes they correct the issues and not let the resort fall apart.

Grounds and beach are beautiful. Food is mediocre and very repetitive. Drinks are watered down. Service is terrible. Waiters are very focused on clearing tables so much that they will swipe plates while youre still eating in between fork movements. Room was dirty on arrival and we never got our included mini fridge restocked no matter how much we asked. Room was cleaned only once (after telling front desk and showing pictures of dirty room and unchanged sheets on arrival) Restaurant booking system via guest services is terrible and took 2 hours to make 4 bookings. Recommend booking elsewhere if you prefer a clean room and like food.

I stayed at Barcelo Maya beach March 2022. Clean resort, very nice place. Very big! I was impressed with the report itself and the services offered. So much to do and I don’t even think I saw the entire place before I left! I got married at the resort on this trip and had planned a destination wedding at this resort in advanced. My wedding coordinator (Angel) was amazing through the whole process! He was able to help rectify so many issues upon check in. The resort had literally messed up every room for booking and had everyone in the wrong rooms and wrong departure dates. Much of my holiday was spent at the front desk dealing the notes mistakes. I thank Angel for fixing many of these issues as well. Unfortunate when you spend thousands of dollars on top of your package to get married and upon arrival it was only mistakes for the resort. I would return, but I hope the hotel continues to provide training for I assume all newer staff.

Beautiful resort with Mayan style art, pretty fountains and basins, smart design. I enjoyed the access to the 4 hotels - lobbies each have different Mexican themes. Rooms are clean and well-appointed, service is friendly but a bit slow, lineups at the pool bar. Hard to book the a-la-carte restaurants - the seafood one has great food.

Restaurants were overbooked. Thus only able to access a la carte 3/7 days. That was booking immediately upon arrival. Very disappointing Limited english language amongst staff. Other than front desk and guest services (not typical in the Mayan 8 previous visits) extraordinary grounds excellent fitness facility beautiful beach with adequate chairs well maintained pools Buffet - average Ala carte Italian - average, Mexican - above average, Spanish - below average

We have just returned from Barcelo Maya Beach and are looking forward to our next visit. From Booking with Martine Reid to departure home our trip was a wonderful experience. We spent 15 days at the resort and a few none issue items that we just went with. 1.Arrival in Cancun- easy, no problems with the provided transport other than a longer than necessary wait for a couple who were duty free shopping and held up our bus, I prefer a direct drop off as the 2 hotels we had to stop at added about an hour in total to the trip but again that is my preference, Barcelo is about 70 mins away from the airport and the bus had great AC, working toilet and great cold beers and canned Margs for purchase. 2.Checkin- It is at 3pm and onward.. we had requested 2 beds and they had 1 king so it took until 430 pm to get our room, we had some lunch, wandered about to get an idea of where things were and then got our room. Checkout-easy and no issues at all and the bus was direct with no stops to the airport.. 3.Room 1315- it is Tulum building and the room was great, clean, mini fridge well stocked, large towels, quiet and a top floor with the garden view. AC worked great a room key is used to activate it, lots of hot water in the shower and no issues at all. 4.Beach-looks exactly like all photos, kms of white sand beautiful warm ocean... if you want snorkeling head to the opposite end by the Plaza and it is rocky so water shoes are a suggestion. 5.Pools and Towels- huge pools and lots of space to float about, towels are bath sheet size so no need to bring from home and the Pool bar... a fun place to sit and watch or participate with the Activity Team but be prepared as it is loud from 12-4pm 6. Shade, sun and lounge chairs-tons to use on the whole resort so no need to get up early to towel mark a chair. 7. Restaurants/Bars - Main Buffet-hit or miss but there is always something to eat, (they are learning service so drinks are a bit slow to arrive but again its vacation so no need to rush about anyway) -Captain Morgan's for lunch- always fresh pasta, pizza, salads, burgers(as big as your hand) and a great spot for some shade during the day to sit and chill, the Managers, Marayil and Enrique were lovely to speak with and they brought us fresh Mango Margarita's to the pool and they were some of the best Marg's we had the whole time... -Room Service- not included in the All Inclusive pricing but definitely worth the few dollars for great sandwiches and a salad instead of going out for a night -A la Cartes- -Italian was a delish experience , we went a few times as it was fabulous, highly recommend it -Tokyo for Japanese, a great meal and show and again we went a couple of times, highly recommend it -Mexican- it was ok.. we both felt rushed, it was too dark and the food was not what we expected.. It was good but again not authentic feeling or tasting. -Strikers Sports Bar- Great place for some bar food, a fun atmosphere but expensive for Bowling (15 US a person) Arcades games fun for kids and a bit expensive but the Air Hockey was a fun hour! Drinks: The drinks were a hit and miss at all bars we tried as everyone makes it their way.. only a couple that were definitely off the mark but for the most part they were great..they made for some great laughter so again not a big deal as you just order another one if its not what you wanted or like but for the Supreme package you do not get access to anything other than house liquor so be prepared as I did not know this. Beer in room was Corona but on tap was Montejo I think and it was great and cold.. Bottled water at the bars and pool and it was always chilled Spa- Highly recommend it and the coupon at checkin was fabulous.. you pay this on arrival at the spa so credit card is needed and again its in US. Dolphin Show- free and fun to watch or you can pay to swim if you like. Nightly Shows- start at 930pm but good for an hour to unwind, open air and lots of seats and all age friendly. Venture Park: We did the go carts and Zipline and it was fun and scary for a first timer but its on site and no need to leave the resort.. it was 35 US each and a good way to spend and hour and a half. There are great shops on site and a Mexican Market for all your souvenirs including string hammocks and a great Tequila shop that is comparable to duty free and when a taxi to 5th Ave is 25-30 US each way it was easy to pick up what I needed without the Playa craziness as much fun as it is. We had a great vacation and our on site rep Johnny assisted with our PCR test booking and again no issues and his check in and check up on us was appreciated. n We didn't do tours off site this time but many folks did and the prices seemed to be the same as every time we have visited. Masks were mandatory for public spaces (going into restaurants, shops etc but not in the pool at the bar and all staff were masked the entire time... Covid protocols were in place and we felt quite safe and most people were respectful of each others space and if the staff can wear masks, we found no issue in having ours at all times.
