This was my second time at the Royal Solaris and I really enjoyed my stay both times. The hotel is not far from the airport and Cancun downtown. Very clean with the great room service. The staff is friendly and were entertaining guests daily at the pool. Food is good, maybe less variety than in RIU resorts, but you have chicken, beef, fish. Pastries are amazing. I would recommend to the couples with or without kids. I’m definitely going back

You can actually get a lounge chair until 11am or later. Food is great too! With a few exceptions of course since the coffee is awful except at the coffee bar. Beef and pork tend to be tough so I had chicken and fish. Nightly shows are terrific with 9-13 pro dancers and a huge screen with theme scenes playing behind. Desserts are delicious! Waiters serve you in the pool area, just tip them and they keep coming back. Only 299 rooms. Literally located right on the beach. Very relaxing holiday!

Food was very good, room was great, staff was great at all times. i felt like in was on leg day for 10 days ............. Lots of stairs!!!! there are elevators but there is stairs to get to them all in all i had a great time being a kid friendly resort, lots to do!

Overall, I would rate Royal Solaris as a 6/10. Although the staff were extremely kind and accommodating, the food was mediocre and the beach was not good for swimming. There were a lot of rocks located at the beach line and with the combination of wind and waves, swimming in the beach was rough and dangerous - definitely not suitable for children and most adults. The resort is a lot smaller than other resorts I’ve been to, but it seems that the experience was less than desirable as well. The lobby bathroom was missing 2 out of 3 of its toilet seats and 2 out of 3 of the doors do not lock. The lobby bathroom felt more like a public bathroom than a resort bathroom and was very poorly kept. The pools were decent in terms of size and layout, however, the pool chairs are all crammed beside each other with absolutely no space to walk between them or around them. The setup of the pool chairs was actually the worst I have ever seen at a resort. There were no actual walkways, you just had to walk in front and behind people’s chairs which again, were all crammed together and extremely close to the pool so you had to be very careful not to misstep. We had to crawl to get onto some of the loungers as well due to the lack of walking space around the pools. The resort itself is very quiet with very little entertainment. The night ends early with the last bar taking drink orders by 11:45pm. There is no entertainment after this at all and nothing is open. The staff were kind and serviced our requests well, they all had great attitudes and a willingness to help. The food selection was very minimal and with no consistency in taste. The food was mediocre at best. The rooms were clean and the oceanview rooms (with balcony) are well worth the view of the stunning ocean. This is not a resort for young adults/individuals who want to dance the night away and enjoy the late night food/fun. The resort is child friendly and seems to cater more towards families. The restaurants on site were good, much better than the regular buffet food.

The resort is really good, you don't get bord from the beggining of the day until the night even when it's raining.The entertainment team are doing a great job even. The room are beautiful but the wi-fi is si bad, and because our room was a connected one we could hear the person snoring from the room next to us. The food is very good, plenty of restaurants to choose from and not a long time waiting before you get seated. Overall we love our stay and would recommand it.

If there is a balcony for the non members will be 100% perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!others are very nice. Service r nice pool is good food is fine. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just returned from a stay at Royal Solaris. We had a super time, older hotel but well maintained. This is our second visit to this hotel. Service was excellent, Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean, also pool area. Lots of activities around pool and a show every night. Meals were tasty and lots of variety. We hope to return for a third visit. Good value

This place was great, tasty food with different themes every night , beach is clean and not to busy. friendly staff, pool area for kids is very nice. Pizza snack bar is so good. the only 2 little draw back is that they really want to sell timeshares but after a few no thank you they stop asking, and I would put security on the floors because people let kids run and yell all evening. but it gets quiet near 10 ish. but it doesn't take from the overall good experience we had

We really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Solaris. The grounds are beautiful, the hotel and resort very clean and well kept. The rooms are spacious and we highly recommend the upgrade to the ocean view with a jacuzzi balcony. One of the highlites of our trip was morning coffee staring at the view. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The beach is breathtaking. The food was good but not great. Never had a problem finding something to eat, but nothing truly memorable. The shows and entertainment staff are good for a value resort. The location is great as it is a short 20 minute walk to Cabo San Jose. We would recommend the resort for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation on a budget.

The resort is extremely small. A LOT smaller than I expected it. It has two buffet restaurants and one a la carte restaurant. I would give the food a 2/5. The food was very limited and it kept repeating itself for breakfast lunch and dinner. The rooms are decent but beware- there are no balconies in the room. Again I didn't know this until I got there so I was disappointed. Also the lighting in the room was terrible. So hard to do your makeup. The pools are heated which was awesome as we travelled with kids it made getting into the water easy for everyone. They alap had stafg constantly walking around the pool and beach takimg drink orders which was amazing! A very good plus! The minikid club has an awesome kid pool which the kids loved. Night shows are abaolutely stunning. Our group of 6; adults and kids all loved it. I would give this hotel a 3* max

Time share posing as hotel staff that approach you after you check in. Unless a "gold member" food options very limited. In room water never restocked. Beds are very uncomfortable. Staff were all very pleasant. South end of strip so it's closer to tours and airport which was nice.

This hotel was not really much to look at upon first glance. But immediatly at check-in, the staff was awesome. They continued to be awesome throughout the whole week. They almost always followed up "you're welcome" with "it was a pleasure". I felt that they always meant it. the staff really went above and beyond. The hotel was very clean, the room was very clean and all common areas were well maintained. I have seen many negative comments about the food, but really cannot imagine what people could complain about. There was a TONNE of variety and options for all meals except breakfast. That would be the only downside for me. The beachside restaurant was for "members" only at breakfast so the only option was the buffet. But there was always many different choices and daily themes. The beach was lovely and we only had trouble getting chairs once because we decided to go down there in late afternoon. The pool area is tight and chairs fill up fast, but again, we always found something and we are not "go put towels down at 7am" people. We never reserved chairs ahead of time. At both the beach and the pool, drink service was great. They just kept checking on us and we rarely waited long for drinks, they really liked to keep us refreshed!!! We really enjoyed our trip!!!

Our room was lagoon view with balcony requested. Upon check-in I was surprised that although balconies are few our desk man said he could get us into a room with a balcony on the following day. I did not think that would even be an option so I happily agreed for a room switch. Being early my bags were left at the entry of the hotel with the bellman. I was given a resort briefing by a woman whom I thought may be a time share rep but did not get a sales pitch. Possibly because I had checked in early and was being joined by a girlfriend arriving on a later flight. We did not get bothered about timeshares except when shopping off the resort. Our room was very clean, the mattresses in great condition, very clean sheets and great pillows. Flat screen tv, bar fridge, iron and board, ice bucket, shampoo and soaps. Nice amenities and comfortable. When we were switched to the balcony room on the seventh floor we had robes and slippers as well as extra toiletries in our room. Again very clean and comfortable. The cleaning ladies did a great job. The buffet was good with lots of options. We would ask for bacon in the morning as it was not usually on the buffet. Never had to wait at all to be seated. The Rosamarinus restaurant by the pool was our favorite spot as it was open to the outside and the ocean was visible. Always good and friendly service. Marco Polo was the sign up restaurant. We went twice and did not have problems getting a reservation. The waiters in this restaurant did not speak english as well and the food could have used more spice and sauce. I had the cannelloni the second night and it was not very good. The pool area we enjoyed although sometimes there were no chairs. We would go to the beach and the chairs at the pool would become available in the afternoon. The beach area was not as flat as some resorts. there was a bit of a ledge. We could always find a chair at the beach. Drinks were good and the service fine. There are a lot of children and babies at this resort which we knew before we left and was not an issue for us.It looks like it is a good resort for families. There were shows each evening which we never went to. We enjoyed the lounge area where where there was live music. This is the only place I felt they could spruce it up a little with some better lighting. All in all we had a much needed restful girls visit in a comfortable environment and it is a resort I would return to.

This was our first time in Mexico. The Royal Solaris Cancun resort was wonderful. The people were absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone. It would be great to have a games room would be the only thing I would like to see there (at any resort).

We planned this trip in December and assumed that it would be a decent resort based on posted reviews. I have to say that the resort surpassed my expectations. From shuttle pick up and drop off to front desk staff that everyone was great to deal with. The food was excellent, the resort is clean, the room was very clean and refreshed daily and the view of the ocean was fantastic. I did go to the gym to work out and have to say that it's one of the best equipped and neatest gym's that I have been seen on any resort. The only drawback for me would be that the bathroom in our room was somewhat outdated. I would give the resort 4 stars!

Un muy buen hotel, excelente servicio, alimentos de alta calidad y una playa privada sin comparacion, olas grandes arena blanca muy fina. It is a great resort to spend vacations, great rooms, great beach and great food. customer service is great, employees always willing to assist you with your inquiries and questions. I for sure would return to the Royal solaris.

The resort overall was great, no complains! The food was amazing, entertainment was fun to watch, the rooms were pretty modern as well! The only thing was all the activities and games were by the pool

The staff was awesome, met fantastic people. They could redecorate the rooms. Pool and ocean kept nice and clean. Price was right, great deal at this hotel. Entertainment staff are lots of fun and entertaining.

the resort was very nice, staff very friendly, food was good. Only downside was very few English tv stations, and evening entertainment was repeated weekly, so if you were there more than 1 week you had seen the evening show.

My husband and I spent 10 days here in Feb 2015. We really did enjoy our stay. The food is excellent and the staff in every area were very good. We liked the size of the resort, not too big and not too small. Only three minor downfalls for us were: one, they really try to sell you on timeshares. For us, this is something we are not at all interested in, even for a free gift. We declined right away and were not bothered the rest of our trip. We did hear from others that they were bothered during there stay. Second downfall, most of the rooms have no balcony. This isn't horrible of course, but a balcony is always nice. Third downfall, the cost of using wifi. It's quite expensive. $16 a day per device (although the more days you buy the cheaper it is). I understand why many resorts charge for the wifi, great way to make more money. But I have stayed places where it's free, and that's just so much nicer. Those three things are the only little complaints we have about the place. All the important stuff, like staff, food, cleanliness etc were great in our opinion! This is also a pretty tame resort. No partying here. More laid back, which is what we were looking for.

3 restaurants, 2 were great, outdoor on was meh. Seemed very family oriented, not many younger people. Would be a good place to bring the family for a vacation away to Cancun. Resort gets quiet later after 11 PM. For younger people/couples it can be okay too, since the Cancun strip is just a bus ride away. If good deal available would recommend this resort for all types.
