Beautiful beach and warm blue ocean!
Booked the extra Sunclub room, no real benefit to that as anyone can go anywhere on the resort. Location was furthest from restaurants/ bars, however did have a "quite" pool and a make shift bar (till 6pm) in this building block. Food at the a la carte restaurants was very good. Italian, Japanese, seafood and steak. The main buffet was typical. Not bad but not great. There was entertainment at night which was fun, though we only saw two nights as more of early risers. Beach was the highlight of stay. Plenty of loungers and palabas. Up at six am and plenty of loungers available to enjoy ocean and a coffees/pastry from 24 hr coffee shop. Entry into water was easy, a few rocks along shore, but after 5 to ten feet in, sandy bottom. Water so clear you can navigate easily. Seawall encompasses whole beach area, so waves are minimal. In block 8, pool also available. Perfect combo. Room was nothing special. Had to request a fan as AC seemed to struggle. Fan was great. Beer fridge stocked daily with water, pop and 7 oz beer. Daily is a perk of Sunclub, which is good as after 6 pm bar is at other end of resort. Room service is included with Sunclub too ( didn't use), along with an Air conditioned lounge by check in thar has a bar fridge stocked along with various snacks throughout the day, that was a nice perk, but again not worth the upgrade. Staff were great. Always a smile and hello/ola and appreciative of a tip. I would definitely recommend this resort and would return.

Great vacation!!!
This is my second time to this resort , and my experience was just as good, if not better than last time . They have upgraded the world cafe( buffet) and added a few new touches that make it so much more enjoyable . We stayed in the tower, our room was large, clean, cozy and stocked with all the things you may need. The staff at the resort are friendly , attentive and will try to help you in any way they can. The beach is the real star of the show, it’s calm waters and beauty really keep you coming back .

Rooms are old, look for another place. The beach that should be the selling point of this resort does not make up for all the other things wrong with the resort. The servers in the buffet restaurant are very hardworking though, kudos to the ladies there.

Poor value
Beach, pool and grounds are beautiful. Italian restaurant was very good. Some rooms are in bad need of refurbishment and have a nasty smell. Front desk reaction to our complaint about our room was met with indifference initially. Don't pay extra for ocean view you may get a partial ocean view or a restaurant outside your door as we did and they called it oceanview. We asked for red wine and were told they had no opener. Wine served in paper cups? Ice blender was out of order for 2 days. Generally not good value for your money.

Great Vacation Location
This resort was clean with very friendly staff. The pools and beaches were great and the buffet and à la cartes offered a good variety of food. The size of the resort made it great for travelling with a large group for meeting up. Lineups for restaurants on the night of the beach buffets were not ideal, especially for those with children and new arrivals to the resort. I would definitely recommend the upgrade to SunClub for premium drinks and increased dining options. Kenneth, the bartender was fabulous. He was friendly, efficient and treated us to his speciality drinks! Rooms were a good size and bar fridge restocked daily. No issues with getting beach chairs together for large group.

Wonderful Resort
The Hotel is excellent, the staff is friendly respectful, and the food is amazing, especially the Italian and Japanese restaurants. There is entertainment every evening and this makes Sunscape Curacao Resort quite attractive, and there are activities for all age groups. The grounds are well kept, the pools are great, but the building and the furniture are archaic! The residences are in need of renovation! I would go back any time.

Sunscape Curacao
Hotel rooms were very comfortable The cleaning staff were excellent Sunclub staff were very helpful Some of the a la carte restaurants were very slow The beach is beautiful; however, get to the beach before 7am if you want an umbrella. It was very difficult to get shade for our grandkids. Sad really, as the resort does not want anyone to hold the chairs, but many of the seats under the umbrellas were vacant for hours, with only a towel and a few personal items holding them.

Excellent Stay at Sunscape Curacao
We have just returned from a week's stay at the Sunscape Curacao which I would rate at Excellent. Overall this is a solid 4 out of 5 star. The snorkelling was outstanding with plenty of fish to see right off the beach. The breakwater adds to safety and makes it more enjoyable. We even got a car rental and visited multiple other beaches but the snorkelling was still the best at Sunscape. Our room was clean and never encountered hot water or housekeeping issues. This is not a gourmet Michelin experience but the food was good and varied contrary to some reviews. We were always able to find something and ate well. As for service and staff: Yes you are on island time. Pro tip: if you start with a smile, that goes a long way. Shoutout to Nathaly and Jorge at the Blue Grill as well as Jermaine at the World Grill. We would definitely recommend and return to the Sunscape Curacao. Frank and Jodi

Beautiful island
The Sunscape curacao was ideally located. The beach was beautiful, with a protected swimming area filled with a natural reef and lots of colourfull fish. Snorkeling gear and water shoes are recommended. The water entry into the beach is rocky. The staff and service were very friendly. You can drink the water from the taps. The resort is older. With that comes bigger rooms, but also maintenance issues. Our room had a broken handle on the bathroom door and the kids got locked in. The problem was not fixed in our timeline. The resort was large. The sun club area was the quiet part, but quite far from the restaurants and amenities, so it wasn’t ideal for people with mobility issues. We stayed in tower 2. There was a neighboring business that had obnoxiously loud music until midnight, and the pool area of the Sunscape was quite loud as well, both day and night. If you value quiet, book the sun club area. Food and drinks were good for an all inclusive. Service in the À la carte restaurants were slow. If you didn’t get there for opening at 6:30 there were long waits as the restaurants seemed understaffed. It could take 2-2.5 hours to finish a meal. The gym facilities were basic and crowded. You could safely walk outside of the resort as curaçao is very safe.

Sunscape
We loved the beaches at this resort. The water was calm and felt very safe for snorkeling and swimming, with plenty of sea life to enjoy. Overall, the food was good. However, service at the à la carte restaurants was consistently slow. They appeared to be short‑staffed in the kitchen, and guests seemed to be seated in a short time span, which created additional delays. Meals often arrived cool or cold. The buffet offered a nice variety of dishes and the service there was good. Staff throughout the resort were friendly and welcoming. The rooms were spacious and clean, though dated. As an older property, some things were not functioning properly. For example, the bathroom door handle was broken, and closing the door risked getting locked inside. We requested repairs several times, but it was never fixed during our stay. The music, entertainment at the resort and neighbouring properties was also very, very loud! It typically went to midnight.

Great resort!
Our 7 day stay was amazing! Staff at this resort were fantastic, kind & courteous. Our room was nice, clean and the bathroom had recently been remodeled. We had a beachfront, ground floor room in the Plover building. Highly recommend it. We opened our patio door, stepped off our terrace and we were on the beach. Everything was so nice and close, the restaurants, pool etc.. The food was good. We enjoyed our stay very much :)

Taken advantage of
Curacao is a beautiful warm, friendly, beautiful, historic and safe island. The resort was clean. The food was excellent. The Italian was my favorite. The staff were super friendly. The beach has a concrete pad down with Sand over it in the sitting area because lack of natural white sand I guess. There is a rule about no reserving beach chairs which is completely ignored so palapas are gone by 6 AM but you can find a lounger. Sunclubs are newer in better shape. Bring water shoes, it's a bit rocky in places. Entertaining fire dancers were excellent, we had a carnival night with excellent dynamic musicians. And lounge type music outside at night. We were suggested to purchase the Sunclub package. It includes having a separate nicer building at quiet end of the resort with your own less crowded beach area, private bar, newer chairs, different towels, private pool and a bar fridge restocked daily. and prioritized check in.We got NONE of that. On arrival we got in line for check in and waited. When it was our turn we got sent to the sunclub lounge to check in there and waited again. After that we never saw anyone in it because it seems just like a business office with a couple couches and chairs, coffee, wine, water and cookies. The term lounge is exaggerated. We took our luggage, struggled by ourselves to the building at the farthest building from the sunclub. Only one elevator worked of the two. The halls were dingy. The room was bright, large and clean. The maids were very nice. We got an ocean view, true but it was the back of the kitchen and buffet area with all the noise and ventilation sound. The cold water tap didn't work, no problem. We slept separate on our anniversary vacation because we got 2 small beds instead of the king bed in our vacation agreement. No quiet for us because the nightly entertainment was just down to the left of us. On 2 different days we banging above us from workers directly above us on the roof working into the evening. The daily restocked fridge was checked the next day after getting there the nothing until after asking personally/ calling 5 times to ask. Second last day they came . You can drink the water but only the hot water tap worked so I filled my yeti and put in fridge or went down to the bar to get water. The vip services said sunclub members are put all over the resort which there were some others in our building. Finally one rep said they overbooked, that's why we weren't in sunclub area. I find it deceitful/ sneaky, we never got what we paid for, no apologies or reimbursement. We did eat in the Bluewater grill for breakfast once. It's for sunclub only but is the same food in smaller portions except with table service. Got asked several times to visit the dreams hotel and learn about the vacation club in a private session for 45 min, no obligation and get a free couples massage. AKA time share pressure pitch. The concierge Amanda was excellent and attentive although couldn't comment on on our downgrade or any way to resolve it. We were never moved. You may not get what you ask for and I know we're not the first. PS short walk to Mambo beach. Beach is identical but you have to pay to stay and squeeze in with all the cruise visitors. Nice sops and restaurants. The Curacao Store on upper level is very reasonably priced. Got all our souvenirs there. The gift shop at the resort is +++ expensive.

Not worth the money
Dining was terrible with the exception of Italian restaurant. Sunclub was not worth it - always requested beer but never came. Beach was very rocky and entertainment in the evenings was not good. The buffet was horrible and if it weren’t for the Italian restaurant we would have lost some weight for sure!

Snorkelling, sunsets and outdoor dining!
If you are looking for friendly people willing to help when asked; meals in open outdoor restaurants steps from the ocean; snorkelling steps from your beach chair in what feels like an aquarium; sunsets to die for from the beach or your room balcony; and a great location for exploring the rest of Curacao then this resort is for you! If you are someone who likes modern large resorts with bar service in your beach chair then this is probably not your best choice. The resort rooms could use some upgrade, however, the beds are comfortable, the AC worked and they were always clean and well stocked. The food in the restaurants (with the exception of the only one requiring reservation -the PanAsian) was good. The beach has beautiful swimming and snorkelling. The only downside is the shortage of palapas which created the early morning competition to reserve..no sleeping in if you want some shade. We explored the beauty of Curacao off resort with ease. It is a 5 minute walk to Mambo beach which can provide the Miami type vibe if that interests you. The shuttle vans that cost $2 stops out front of the resort. We took it to and from Williamsted- a must see. We hired a private guide who drove us to the north west -Shete Boka National Park, Playa Pescado(turtles), Grote Knipe beach, Playa Kenepa Chiki, Flamingos. Private guide was more economical than paying for excursion for 3 people. We arranged a snorkelling tour to visit the south west of island -Spanish Waters with cruise through the bay on the way to sunken Tugboat. We would recommend this resort for those who do not need grandiose to enjoy the amazing beauty of Curacao.

Not the best. Don’t expect much
Trip started with our deluxe oceanfront view. Having a view of the fish restaurant. Asked the front desk twice to see if we could change to a higher floor. They said they would get back to me and never did. The toilet was running called the front desk. Nobody ever came to look at it. We ended up just fixing it ourselves every time we flushed. The ceiling in the bathroom was leaking we called and nobody ever came. The stocked mini bar is two beers and three pops. Had be track done someone almost every day to bring water bottles. Only one bar that you can get drinks at during the day. The hotel is very dated and rundown Buffet ran out of plates. We are extensive travels and have been all over the whole. Will not be going back to that hotel.

Amazing Resort
We have no complaints. The rooms were clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic. Thanks to the Italian restaurant and Nicole for decorating for my husband's birthday ( a total surprise) The beach was a bit rocky but not a problem with water shoes, so many fish right at the beach because of the coral. The bartenders were great, and Kenneth's Special drink was a delicious Adult flavored Strawberry Shake. We would definitely stay there again.

Our Sunscape Experience
Overall, our stay at Sunscape was a positive experience. Having upgraded to SunClub, we felt we had the best room at the resort - it was a corner room with a great ocean view, located on a 2nd floor with a fairly private balcony, and was close to everything. The hotel is, at best, a 3-star resort. Despite being a bit dated, the biggest drawbacks were the poor service and terrible food. With the exception of a couple of standout employees (Nathaly - head waitress/hostess), staff were often scowling and unfriendly. The SunClub staff made us feel as though we were an imposition, and were pretty unapproachable. Xienandrau, who was usually assigned to restocking our mini-bar, was great during the first 5 days; but his service was sporadic thereafter. The staff at the Italian restaurant were frequently rude and dismissive. The staff at Oceania were always friendly and attentive. Thanks to Nathaly, we had attentive service at the Grill and the Cafeteria (aka the Trough). The food quality was repetitive, unimaginative, uninspiring and disappointing. The alcoholic drinks were a bit of a joke for Sunclub guests. One had to order a double or triple shot in order to be served a standard 1.5 oz shot, which made one feel like a real lush!! Although the hotel appeared clean, and staff were visibly always cleaning the premises, we had cockroaches in our room. The air conditioning in our room only seemed to work at around 4:30 am. The rest of the time, our room was quite hot albeit cooler than outside. The coffee maker in our room was broken when we arrived. Despite reporting it twice to the concierge and bringing it to the attention of the cleaning staff, the coffee maker was never replaced or repaired. The gym was not air conditioned and the equipment was dated and not entirely functional. Equipment was limited to ancient weight machines and some quasi-functioning cardio units. For us, the highlights were the onsite scuba facility and the beautifully protected open-water swimming arrangement. The scuba operation and employees were truly excellent. As an avid swimmer, I enjoyed the experience of frequent swims inside the breakwater "reef". Overall, the Sunscape and Air Canada Vacations provided a mediocre experience, at best. However, we liked Curacao and plan to return. The next time (hopefully January 2026), we will avoid AC Vacations and hope to book a 4-6 week stay through either AirBNB or VRBO. We are happy to discuss our experience in person, and also welcome any advice on future longer term visits to Curacao!

Sunscape Curaco
My friend and I travelled to this resort from January 9 to 16, 2025. The weather was 35 - 40 degrees with the humidity all week, with very little rain. If you go knowing this is a 3.5 star resort, you will have a great time. The staff at the resort, including everyone we spoke to away from the resort, were amazing. Incredibly friendly and always had a smile on their face. The beach was beautiful with great snorkelling. A little rocky in some spots to get in so bring some water shoes. There were many clean pools. We stayed in a Deluxe Ocean View Double room in building 7. The sleeping area was spacious, but in need of upgrade. The shower water over ran onto the bathroom floor and the bathroom was quite small. We did not have much AC in our room, but they brought us a fan which helped. The room, as well as the entire resort, was very clean. The food at the buffet was fine, yet repetitive and not much flavour in my opinion. It was always cold. I tried to avoid eating there whenever possible. The Italian and Pan-Asian restaurants were really good. We don't eat seafood so we didn't try the seafood restaurant. The Coco Café had amazing coffee and lattes. The Grill had a small menu and again, the food wasn't not warm but it was good. We thought the resort could have used more chairs in the evenings. They were hard to come by and we wanted to enjoy the evening entertainment, but sometimes couldn't find anywhere to sit. We took the bus downtown and enjoyed some shopping and food. We felt very safe. Most shops had prices in American and ANG. If you pay with American money, they may have to give you change in ANG . I should also mention that Curacao is switching their currency to the Caribbean pesos in March so if you plan on taking ANG, use all of it before you come home. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but I would not go back. Curacao is a beautiful island and we were glad we visited.

Perfect for Our Group
I would offer 3.5 star. The restaurant servers were friendly. The food was good for the price. No complaints. The beach was perfect and really enjoyed the snorkeling. The rooms were good for the price. The no smoking policy could have been better enforced. There were small quirky things. For example, I ordered the Hawaiian Burger and it arrived with no grilled pineapple. The pineapple and Hawaiian theme is why I had ordered it. The server didn't advise us there wasn't any pineapple. She simply brought it to me. This same thing happened with the Organic lettuce and watermelon salad. It arrived with no watermelon. They substituted it with cucumbers and didn't say anything. I ordered an iced coffee at the coffee bar and the woman said she had no ice. Otherwise, all was good. The pools were great. The entertainment was good as well. For the price, this is a good resort and I would go back with another group.

Beautiful place
We stayed for 7 days and Curacao is absolutely gorgeous. The staff at the Sunscape hotel were amazing; very friendly and always helpful. The food was good, yet repetitive but well seasoned and fresh. The only negative for us was the beach. Not enough lounge chairs and shade. The beach is also divided by a rock wall which is nice because the water is calm BUT the water smelled. It wasn't an overwhelming smell but you can tell that the water didn't circulate. I love the ocean but was not excited to go to this beach. The upside is that one of their famous beaches, Mambo beach, is only a five minute walk off the resort with plenty of shops and restaurants as well.

Aging poorly
The hotel is showing its age, many maintenance issues, broken or poorly working features. Food is bland and lacks verity and flavour. Staff is friendly and nice but overworked as the hotel is clearly understaffed. Issues during my stay went unresolved until the second to last day when management stepped in. Wifi was not working, coffee machine in exclusive section not working, AC in room barely working (couldn’t keep room below 25c even at night). Many restaurants closed, dance bar closed, the list goes on. The beach is well protected and calm, great for kids and safe but no lifeguards. Also bring water shoes as there is an abundance of coral in the sand. The explorers club (for kids) is fantastic and was the best part for my children. The kids enjoyed everything but the adults are left dissatisfied.

Should You Upgrade?
I would first like to say we did make the best out of our circumstances. The location is beautiful and the waters are crystal clear. Just not impressed with the upgrade, amenities and many services. The Air Canada tour package ‘Beach Escape with Sea Turtles’ for $85 USD per person to see flamingos in the wild, swim with Greenback sea turtles, visit a couple of beautiful beaches and a seaside beach lunch was worth the money. It was more reasonable than the resort packages. We also went for an introductory scuba dive through Ocean Encounters for $135 USD each. I use to dive but let my ticket lapse. My wife had never dove. It was a spectacular dive. We saw a coral reef rebuilding project and many varieties of sea life. Our dive instructor Leroy (from Netherlands) was excellent instructor. We visited Willemstraat via local bus for $4 USD each return fare ($2 USD one way). Willemstraat is an old colonial dutch town with colourful buildings, a bridge that pivots sideways, a free local ferry, shops and markets. Very colourful and artistic town. We never felt harrassed by anyone, especially in the town centre market. Below we have summarized (sort of) our Sunscape Curacao Resort experience. The resort overall is in serious need of maintenance and repairs. Below summarizes issues with different areas of the resort. What made much of our stay tolerable were some of the staff. Of whom I will mention by name later on. When we arrived in the Sun Club Office/Reception, along with several others, we had to wait over 1/2 an hour to be registered as Sun Club Members. General patrons were checked in at the main front desk within a very short period of time. In fact, after the general patrons were checked in, the staff from the main front desk came to assist the Sun Club Reception. We were told the resort was recently acquired by the Hyatt brand ad that they were going through a change. Our friends in room# 8213 had an ocean view with King bed, quite spacious with large balcony. Their bar had champagne, beverages and a fruit plate. Our room# 8216 was a partial ocean view, a tiny triangular balcony (with barely enough room to sit) and was stocked with 4 different cans of pop and 2 - 1/2 sized bottles of beer. Neither couple received robes. Robes were part of this package. Our room was quite dated and warn. Stains on the pillows and dresser counters not clean. Debris from past patrons still on balcony (burnt match sticks and crumbs). The bed was musty and smelt unclean. We politely complained to Timothy the night manager. He said our rooms were the same. I said that it may be considered that from his point of view but that we felt it was most definitely not. Timothy gave me a difficult time and insisted they were at 100% capacity. We’ve had yet to see this as appears sparse with patrons. He finally agreed to change our room the next day, around 5pm. I asked to see the room first before moving. The next day after 5:30pm, we received a new room on 3rd floor room# 8303 (from room# 8216). We lost a sofa, still had same same balcony size, a slightly better view. We went from an Eastern view to Western view. We benefitted by not having a morning sun glaring on us while eating breakfast. The room was cleaner. The bed wasn’t musty but sheets still had stains. We did receive 2 robes and gained a wall bottle opener. We still weren’t happy but decided that we didn’t want to waste our vacation on room changes. Our friends requested a room change a couple of days later from room# 8213. Our one friend developed a leg issue which left her struggling to get up and down stairs and walking long distances. The next day around 5:30pm, they were given a ground room# 6102 in non Sun Club member area. They still had access to the Sun Club privileges. Their room had a modern toilet that flushed without holding down the tank lever for 1-2 minutes. Such an embarrassing situation in the morning when it takes a long time to flush. Overall, their room was actually not much different than ours. We have no idea what the Sun Club room upgrades were. House Keeping Issues - Refilled in room coffee station only 3 times. Our daily mission while walking to an amenity was always to ask a housekeeper …when we can find one…for coffee, cream and sugar. - Bathmat was removed towards end of week and never replaced - One morning housekeeping didn’t wipe off or sanitize our in room dining table. The table was sticky from breakfast room service. Spilled juice etc. - Overall, daily housekeeping cleaning wasn’t fantastic. A few days we had sandy floors. Dining - The restaurants have varying policies on dress code. We were told by a security staff that what we were wearing was not appropriate for the ocean front grill on our first night. My wife was wearing a skirt and a tank top. When we returned, people wearing ‘Rock Band’ type T’s and casual shorts were allowed in. Even people were let into buffet with bathing suits on when the sign clearly stated ‘No Bathing Suits or Bare Feet’. Very confusing. - Wait times for restaurants are more than 90 min. Except for Hititsu Teppanyaki Bar you can’t make reservations, so you have to wait around the other restaurants after you place your name on a list. The buffet was also a bit of a wait. Apparently they are short staffed at some restaurants so wait times were often more than a couple of hours. - The food wasn’t great. Portions at A La Carte restaurants were quite small. Once waited 2+ hours to receive a full sized plate loaded with only 1/5 of it in salad and small entree. Quite frustrating. As to order more would again take quite awhile to receive. The Italian restaurant, Da Mario’s, Teppanyaki at Hititsu Teppanyaki and the buffet were the worst. - Da Mario’s pasta was Al Dente but most sauces were terrible and seafood over cooked and dry. - Teppanyaki at Hititsu was not Teppanyaki. It was more like a stir fry. Tiny pieces of chopped pork, beef and chicken served with stir fried rice, scrambled eggs and stir fried frozen vegetables is not Teppanyaki. Not flavourful. - For breakfast, fresh OJ at buffet and concentrate most other places including room service. Da Mario’s Italian restaurant’s A La Cart breakfast had instant (much like Tang or Sunny D). Oddly, Da Mario’s served ham & cheese crepe with chocolate sauce drizzled all over the plate. - Buffet always late to open. One morning we had to meet in the hotel lobby by 8am for an excursion and almost didn’t have food to eat. However, I met 2 older couples (Eastern European) who barged in at 7:20am (I was in the front of the line) and they turned to me and said “We’ve been here 4 weeks and they are suppose to be open at 7am so wait if you want to but we’re eating”…. Loved them! I followed them in. No issues. - Ice cream bar rarely had someone on duty. One time we waited over 20 minutes. Staff from the kitchen saw us, walked away, never to be served. Sun Club Member Issues Pool - Can’t swim in any pool after 6pm. Never experienced that before at a resort. We did out of defiance even after security verbally said to get out but never returned to enforce. We were quiet and respectful. - Also, tired of pool cleaning in Sun Club being done last. They start the general area around 5am….I know this because I was up to work out at that time…. Then they would clean ours last starting around 8:30-8:45am which lasts anywhere up to an hour. So my wife and others couldn’t do laps unless up early. Pool gets busy after 9am. Yes people could rise earlier but it’s a holiday. Our Sun Club pool area should be completed first. - There was supposed to be to be an adults only hot tub. We finally found it. It was not heated. Cool water like the pools. Our friend loves hot tubs but not able to enjoy it this vacation. Sun Club Bars - Premium Top shelf Alcohol is always limited, not top shelf (Jim Beam, Absolute, Dewars). We always joked that it’s Top Shelf because those bottles were literally on the top shelf. Ran out of Bailey's after 3 days. So 3 days of good morning coffee. Very limited alcohol selection. We have a SunClub bar by our pool and no Baileys or many other ‘Top Shelf’ alcohol that the lobby bar has. Always have to go to Lobby bar, which is a fair distance away, wait in line to get what we want. - The Sun Club bar for premium alcohol has a short window. Closes at 5pm. So if we take an excursion that day, we’re out of luck. We had to go all the way to the lobby bar to get ’Top Shelf’ access. Unlike the pool bar, the lobby bar you are required to wear a shirt. So that added more to our journey. - I may seem obsessed about this but No Baileys 4 days in a row! The last 4 days. Entertainment - Lounge Bar (by entertainment area near scuba centre) for dancing always closed. Suppose to be open 11pm-2pm. Apparently we heard from staff that since COVID, this lounge has been closed for 3 years and only recently updated on web site. When we booked it hadn’t been updated. Very misleading and disappointing. We love dancing. - Rock climbing wall was much smaller than web site shows. - No batting cage. We asked and everyone looked at us like confused. - No movies on the beach. Sun Club Customer Service - Calling SunClub Concierge is extremely challenging. - Tried calling for maintenance, gave up. Went to Sun Club office to request unclogging of bathroom sink & repair faucet handle as handle comes off. A couple of days later a maintenance man came by to unclog our bathroom sink. Faucet was never repaired. - None of the chairs throughout Sun Club area had seat cushions for patio/balcony chairs. Called to request balcony chair cushions. On the line for 15 minutes, only to hear they will pass the message on to house keeping. Never to receive them. Later that day while walking to another resort area, we spoke to housekeeping staff. We gave our room number with a request for 4 balcony chairs seat cushions. The cushions came a couple hours later, only to receive 2 cushions. We gave up and settled with the 2 seat cushions. - Stocking our room fridge was always an issue. We had it stocked twice in the entire stay. One of those times was when we arrived and the other occurred when the room service bar attendant was rolling past our suite. In the beginning of our trip I called daily for a few days. The phone would ring 15-20 minutes. We gave up. Even complained to Sun Club Office. They would write things down but nothing was done about it. We gave up. Room Service - Our first morning, the breakfast room service app was not usable. We could scroll through it and navigate but the actual ordering could not be preformed on the app. We ordered by calling. Took a long while to answer. However we did receive breakfast in 30 min. The poached eggs and toast were great. The fresh melon was as well but the addition of sliced ‘canned peaches and pears’ was very odd. Odd reflection of fruit in a tropical place. One day ordered 1 poached egg and received 3 poached eggs of which 1 had 1/2 an egg shell still attached. The last few day we were told 30-45 min. Waited 1 1/2 hrs and only received 1/2 our order. No cream & sugar for coffee. Dinners were delivered within an hour so no complaints . Sun Club Beach Front - Often sewer gas smells permeated while resting on beach. Very unpleasant. - No resort Wifi available on end of beach in Sun Club area. The day before we left we went to the Sun Club Office to arrange to have an extra hour late check out. They normally charge for this but Ariela arranged as a complimentary request. The next day Zaraya made sure our keys were coded for this request. There is a guest suite that is complimentary but this was more of a convenience for us as the shuttle pick up was 2pm. Ariela and Zaraya provided the best service for us in Sun Club Office. The last day when we were packed and waiting in front lobby for our shuttle to the airport, I met the hotel GM, Oswaldo. He proceeds to ask me how our stay was. By this point I had complained enough. So i didn’t get into details. I did say our stay was not pleasant but many of the staff were very nice. I mentioned the staff we had the best encounters with; - Zoraida - Sun Club Pool bar tender. Sweet woman who went out of her way to have the hotel purchase bitters for our Old Fashions. It took the hotel nearly the entire week to get it but on the last day we had it. So we enjoyed 2 Old Fashions before we left. We tipped her. - Quella - A floating bar tender. We had her at several bars and she was excellent. Great personality. We tipped her. Oswaldo went on to say that he was flown in from Cancun and that the resort has just been acquired by Hyatt and that there are many changes to be made. I told him that I use to in the hotel industry as a pastry chef and I understand much of what goes on. This was not impressive. He said for me to answer survey when sent. So this much of this will be copied and pasted in my various reviews. I know this is a long review. I had to condense it as best as I could. There are other details I could mention but this is enough to get a picture of our experience. Most people we spoke to at the resort had the same issues and other problems as well. Like I stated in the beginning, we made the best of a bad situation. Never arguing with anyone. Always trying to find resolution maturely. In no way do I blame Trip Central. Our agent Candice has always provided excellent service.

Ok
The resort was clean food was ok but the service was terrible. Had to wait for at least 5-10 minutes to be served with just a glass of water. Staff not at all pleasant. Some days, there was a shortage of plates, cutlery. I could not believe that maple syrup was watered down. I certainly would not recommend the resort to my family and friends

Don’t waste your money
I travel every year in a group. There is 8 of us. This is my first time writing a review. We’ve travelled many times and we don’t have high expectations but this resort was our worst experience. We arrived past check in and the rooms were not ready. When we did get our rooms, half of us got 2 double beds when we booked a king. Luckily they changed out our room for us. We had air conditioning however the other 3 rooms did not. It was hot and made sleeping difficult. We booked Sunclub. One of the perks is a private lounge. Just a heads up it’s a room in the lobby where you check in and out. Not a place you can really hang out in. The buffet is horrible. I’m not picky and always find something to eat but this by far was the worst. Not much selection, not great quality and repetitive. Room service was a great perk when you could actually get through to someone, but twice our group ordered and it was a no show. Restaurants are better but no reservations so you’ll need to wait. Wait times aren’t bad. After 10:00pm there’s no food. Everything is closed including service. There’s no 24 hour snack bar. The Sunclub pool was nice but they don’t monitor it so others from the resort would come use the pool and bar. The service by far is my biggest complaint. The lady at the pool bar was slow as a sloth. Literally. I know it’s hot but if you had 4 people in front of you expect to wait at least 20 minutes. She also ran out of ice and beer in the middle of the afternoon. Not a large selection of the premium drinks that were promised. If you like to swim early, save your towel until you have another one in hand. It was after 10am when we got towels. We spent a lot more time, and money off the resort. I highly recommend checking out Mambo beach which was a 5 minute walk, and Willemstad. We also booked our own driver to explore the island and got to see flamingos and swim with sea turtles. The island is beautiful. Highly recommend visiting but perhaps stay at a different resort with better service.

Paying 5 star prices for 3 star resort.
Curacao is a beautiful island with much to see and much to enjoy. As everything needs to be exported in everything is expensive. ( Example 2L bottle.of pop was $5.50 CND) This hotel offers good service for a decent price keeping in mind the island cost of living is high. The a la cart restaurants: italian - chicken parmigiana was good. Japanese style: was very good. Blue water grill lunch fish tacos were quite good. Overall service: helpful, friendly yet slow and we are there to relax so just take a breath. Booked a sunclud oceanview King room and was given a double poolside view room. It took a night for them to move us as we were not given our room until 6pm although we checked in at 130pm. Example: requested bathrobes as was apart if the Sun club benefits rhey were never received. Sun club was worth the extra price for the room service and views. There is limited premium alcohol available on the resort. The Cafe coffee was delicious. Resort is quite dated and it is not very well maintained.(EXAMPLE AC was inconsistent and did not work well although it stated it was 18C in the room it was likely 25C.) Entertainment was varied and there was daily activities available if desired. Close by attraction include Mambo beach which was a close walk with great restaurant options. LOCAL transit was reliable and inexpensive to get downtown. (If possible use local currency as a Canadian this was best- we withdrew $from ATM... there is a 10USD charge plus your bank charge.) Sunsets were amazing even when cloudy. Beaches off resort were small, public and lounge chairs and umbrellas available for a low. cost. Beach on resort was small and man made. Snorkeling off most beaches including Cas aboes, Grope knip and Lagun was wonderful with plenty of fish and plenty of colorful coral. Piskado/Grandi (turtle beach)- was small and a fisherman's a beach that smells like fish but you can swim w turtles as they are fed daily by local fishermen. It rained almost every night/early morning so it was unusually humid so the sand fleas and mosquitoes after sunset were awful. During our 12 days on the island it rained a few times during the day for 5 or 10 minutes at a time was refreshing.

Sunscape Curaçao
This place is a little dated, but comfortable. Very clean. Had to call service once for air conditioning. They were on-site within the hour. Most personnel were efficient and easy to deal with. Ocean was clear and very swimable. Nightly entertainment was nothing to write home about, typical low end resort entertainment. Although it must be said that the animation crew were very enthusiastic. There are a couple of things that bring this resort down that management need to address if they ever want to achieve their once glory of being a five star. I am a bit of a picky eater. That being said, the variety of food offered each day needs to vary. The food offered at the buffet, was constant and not that good. Salad bar was the same every night. Unfortunately I couldn't eat what they offered. Dessert every night was pudding or dense cake. We tried a couple of the alacart restaurants. Although they say there menu does not vary, what you get, and what you asked for did not necessarily correspond. Bar service was not always looked after with the best of intentions. So let's start with some bartenders not listening to what you ask for and you end up with something you don't want or can't drink. There are not enough drinking glasses at this resort, to handle the needs. Several times bars were without bartenders, because they were out looking for glasses. The most popular bar bar during supper hours and evening, several evenings had 1 only bartender and lines 10 -15 deep. Check in and out was very easy, no issues. There were no beach hustlers , which was enjoyable for a change. As far as rating this resort, can't give it more than 4 stars.

Lovely resort
We had a wonderful vacation at Sunscape Curaçao Resort (three adults and two teenagers). Don't be scared by the negative reviews. One of the most beautiful beaches I've been to for swimming and snorkeling. They have designated smoking areas appreciated by anyone bothered by the scent of cigarettes and cigars at the beach. There is always something good to eat at the buffet. I highly recommend Da Mario for dinner, and the fish tacos at the Bluewater Grill. The situation with the birds is only bad when people feed the pigeons at the Bluewater Grill, an open air restaurant right by the sea. The tiny birds that managed to get through the mesh inside the main buffet usually remain in the trees and plants around the restaurant. The buffet is somewhat understaffed, but they're doing their best to wait on everyone. The staff was friendly and nice to talk to. Plenty of fun activities are available for the whole family. The entertainment staff is hard working and so friendly. Our rooms were spacious, quiet and clean. The only issue was the bar fridge not being refilled each day. I would get bottles of water from the bar and take them to my room. We spent half a day visiting Willemstad. You can take a bus across the street for $2 US. There are colourful murals everywhere, and don't miss walking across the Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge. We all had a fantastic time and will come back to this resort for certain.

Sunscape curaçao resort
Highly recommend to visit Curaçao island for many different reason, very safe with welcoming local people. You won’t see big resorts or big commercial developments, it is modern but kept its originality of being small island. Sunscape resort is close to everything, $2 ride to down town or walking distance to popular beach for party. Resort staff are very friendly, food is good, and resort have scuba diving shop. You can snorkel or scuba from hotel beach. I like this place for their staff, food, location, scuba shop. I highly recommend to visit Curaçao and let Sunscape to full fill your experience.

Nice resort
It was our first time in Curaçao. Sunscape has a nice beach and pools. The staff is very friendly and polite. The rooms are clean but dated. The elevator has a glass wall and no fan or A/C. Was extremely hot inside. The food was OK, not much of variety but fresh. Nobody got sick. Inside the buffet was very hot. We would suggest to install a few fans there and in the lobby. Overall everything was fine.

Needs updating
The hotel was very clean, but needs major updating. The buffet was very disappointing, service was slow, was was so repetitive and bland. Some staff were very friendly. The Italian restaurant was horrible, we didn’t find one person who liked it, we ended up eating at the buffet. We ate out several nights at Mambo beach. I would strongly recommend Dreams resort food and hotel were amazing. Overall weather was great.

If you are looking for a peaceful relaxing vacation with great people and a vibrant landscape this is the place for you. The food was good but if you value fine dining at the top of your vacation list..this is not the place for you. High on your list is swimming snorkeling, fun, entertainment and all around relaxation the hotel wiĺl satisfy you greatly. The rooms are suoer clean but onthe smaller side bit again how much time do you spend in your room on vacay? I only slept and got dressed after the beach day. I can't wait to go back!

Very nice Resort
The hotel is a bit dated, but it is so clean and well kept. Our room was huge and updated. The beds were comfortable. The staff at this hotel were amazing and very friendly and most of them spoke English and they were very welcoming. What I really liked about this hotel was that it was not crowded and everyone was made to feel really safe. We really liked the Italian restaurant and the Japanese restaurant. The buffet had a good selection of food, I would like to have seen a bit less of the pasta dishes, even though enjoyable, was a lot. The beach and water was enjoyable, we never went to the pools. The staff and management at this resort were very well organized. We had a lovely stay. No complaints. Walk with water socks as you need to get pass the small rocks in the water, but once you are in it is lovely, a bit cool but refreshing.

Very Indifferent
The resort itself is 'dated'. While it is not run down it is very plain. However, it is kept clean and hospitable. The rooms are adequate, yet dated. The 'special room' associated with the special rate over looked the garden with a balcony that wasn't wide enough to use, other than hang clothes to dry. The entrance backed out to the service/staff entrance. Though the view was lacking we did not experience any noise issues. The room staff was fine. The beaches were clean and pretty. They are behind break walls of stone that help create a calm and more welcoming area. There are plenty of lounges and enough room for everyone. The pools were pretty, clean and could accommodate large numbers. There were some activities for all ages and the activities/entertainment staff were fairly good, as was the featured entertainment each evening. The bars were second rate but sufficed if a beer or some fruity cocktail was all you wanted. There was a coffee bar where we got a cappuccino and espresso on a regular basis. Perhaps, if you were lucky there was some cake to have with it, but most of time it lacked anything edible to have with the coffee. The restaurants were adequate, especially in light of what the buffet had to offer, though they did not even approach anything resembling 'fine dining'. These were not always available and lunch venues were limited. That leaves the buffet. One reason that were have stopped visiting Cuba was because of the quality of the food. We had hoped that Curacao would provide a decent alternative. We were wrong. I almost pined for the days of Cuban 3/4 star resort food. The small birds that could easily fly through the window netting surely enjoyed the facilities, including the food. It took a few days to navigate the buffet and figure out what was 'best' to eat...when there was no alternative. The staff, on a one-to-one basis were very pleasant but in general the whole atmosphere just seemed 'indifferent'. All that being said, our goal was to relax in a clean environment (no seaweed!), nice weather and piece and quiet. Sunscape allowed us to meet those goals but certainly did not meet or exceed the expectations that we have grown to expect from other Caribbean resort experiences.

An amazing beach resort!
We really enjoyed the beach. The snorkeling is amazing around the rocks both on the resort side and on the ocean side. The rocks keep the swimming water calm close to the beach. All of the food at the resort was great. Enjoyed every meal and snack! It is easy to rent a car or take the bus to the various sights around the island.

2nd Stay at Sunscape
Sunscape is in a great location! Not far from airport. 20 min bus ride max to Punda for great shopping and sight seeing. 15 min walk if u want to swim with the dolphins. Curacao has the friendliest people. Warm and welcoming on and off the ressort. Only complaint we had was that new management has taken some of the perks away from the Sunclub side. No more hot and cold hors doeurves in the afternoon. Towels are way down the beach instead of having them right by the pool. Harder should anyone have mobility issues. The bars had terrible Blenders to make the drinks. Only one seemed to work. Great food at the restaurants. The buffet could Use a little larger choice and the desserts as well but good none the less. Covid has made it difficult in many areas as far as staffing etc., so we all need to remember that and chill. Although Sunscape isn’t the RIU it makes up for it by location and all the rooms are so close to an amazing beach with great snorkelling right there. I hope the management puts back the perks on the SunClub side. The staff is truly awesome here for sure.

Had High Expectations
We returned this past weekend from Sunscape Resort in Curacao. Our friend recommended this resort so we had high expectations. Unfortunately, most of the staff looked like they wanted to be anywhere else but taking care of us. The food, especially in the buffet, was equivalent or worse than what we have eaten in Cuba. One of the workers told us that they have had management change and they are not happy. Our room was not cleaned two separate days and I had to run around trying to get clean towels. The entertainment staff is wonderful. They always make you laugh. The beach is amazing. There are not many chairs by the pool. The island in itself is beautiful and very safe. We did manage to have a great trip aside from our concerns.

Amazing employees
The resort was extremely clean and employees were super sweet. We were in room 2419 and sewage gas was coming up through the drains. They changed our room when we complained for the second time. We also got stuck in the glass elevator for 45 minutes in the heat at 4 pm. We kept pushing the bell button but nobody answered, had no way of informing anyone untill we saw a guest looking up from outside and we could ask for help with our hands. It took forever for them to get us out of there. We were sitting on the floor and hardly could breath. We thanked the workers for getting us out but never heard an apology from the management team.. so bazaar!

Nice resort
The property was always constantly cleaning and disinfecting everything during COVID-19. Which made my group more safe being there. Very friendly staff. Wish there was more food options, wish we tried every restaurant, during covid they closed most of the restaurant and had only certain ones open. So I feel like I’m not getting the value food wise that I paid for. Plus I had a hotel room on the other side of the property even tho really no one was staying there.

We enjoyed the buffet, cafe and all the restaurants. We booked the 4 wheeler excursion right across the road. From the resort there was a free shuttle into the beautiful town of Williamstead daily. This resort had a nice casual feel with many kind people. Not far from the airport.

Wonderful resort for families
I really felt everything about this resort exceeded expectations from the rooms, food, drinks, service, pools, and especially the beach which was so close, sandy, and beautiful for snorkeling. The resort is not perfect, some aspects are dated but it really offered more than we could possibly need. Have reasonable expectations and you will be very pleased. It was also great to get off the resort, which was in a convenient location, to explore a beautiful island with lots of culture. If you are looking for a different experience to the typical Mexico/Cuba/Dominican then I highly recommend this spot!

More a 3* property
The resort is an older property with a newer tower. The older rooms are dated. I was in two different rooms that required maintenance. The rooms are kept clean. A good supply of towels are changed daily and amenities like shampoo and lotions are supplied. A fridge is stocked daily. The beach is nice but not all soft sand. More shade areas need to be set up. I could not walk along the beach to other resorts but you can access them by walking out to the road. Buffet food was typical A.I. fare. I did not find the a la carte restaurants exceptional but not terrible either. Nightly entertainment was out door bands except for a fun Mardi Gras parade The staff are exceptional - happy, friendly and willing to please

Wonderful Stay
This was a wonderful extremely clean Resort. Our rooms were cleaned daily and the fridge replenished. There were reviews that the food was a hit and miss but we thoroughly enjoyed everything. We were told there was a new chef so maybe this is why. The buffet is not big like a RIU but the food is spiced and sauced just perfectly. The Seafood and Grill restaurants are right in the beach. The beach is beautiful and the reef makes the water calm. Some areas are rocky to enter the water but some spots are not. We did not need water shoes but see that many did bring them. The thing we really enjoyed is these are some of the friendliest people we have ever met. Very happy people anywhere u went. U are a 10 minute walk to the Sea Aquarium and Mambo beach. An island tour can be arranged at the desk where ur tour guide “Papi†will entertain u to make this one of the best tours to choose. Everyone we spoke to seemed to have no complaints and we would recommend this hotel. The weather was excellent with a breeze It was very enjoyable. We found the location to be great and a 2 dollar bus ride gets u to downtown Williamstad where u can shop and enjoy the culture.

Definitely a 4 star
The resort it self is very out dated. The food is ok, Japanese and sea food a la Cartes are quite good. This resort is definitely a 4 star, despite the fact that the staff was excellent. Left feeling I paid way too much for this experience. Could have done a lot better else where for the money. As a result I would have a hard time recommending this resort and no I won’t be going back.

Friendly Sunscape!
Beach front units are great. The resort is so already out that you don’t realize how big it actually is. Enjoyed not having to make reservations for the a la carte restaurants and each and many of the staff at Sunscape go out of their way for you. Snorkeling right off the beach is fantastic - would go again!

Five Star Resort!
This resort was exceptionally clean with very friendly staff and excellent restaurants and a very exceptional buffet. The pools were pretty but had a lot of steps and planters for decoration where you had to be careful not to trip or scratch yourself on the concrete. The rooms were lovely and large with clean, modern bathrooms. The resort is right on the ocean and the snorkeling was excellent. The staff had good entertainment that was different each night of our 7 day stay. Our only complaint was the extremely loud music that could be heard from a resort down the beach that went until after 2:00 am in the morning. I would definitely recommend this family resort to anyone.

Amazing snorkeling
Spacious rooms, great snorkeling. Friendly staff. My son lost his sunglasses and book at the beach and was great full when they were returned to him the next day. Could use some new beach chairs. Great cocktails.

Nice Place
The resort is in a good area with a nice beach. Some minor cosmetic work would be useful. All the staff are very good but it's obvious they could use a lot more staff. Wait times for drinks at the bar or service in the restaurants can be long so you have to be patient. The local bus stop right in front of the resort is handy for going into town and back. Short walk to Mambo Beach.

Great vacation
The resort was a average resort giving it a 3.5 The beach was good with great snorkeling right on site just a swim out from shore. The food was good but buffet was to be desired as most of the time the food was not much more than warm. The restaurants were much better to eat at. The entertainment was poor. Daily activities were offered but most people did not participate. It is a kid friendly resort with kids activities. Room was large and fairly modern. All and all I would go back to this resort. We had a great time and excursions were great

Beautiful Country
All 8 in our group Absolutely loved Sunscape! If you are looking for a fancy, ‘wow’ resort then this place is not for you. If you are looking for cleanliness, excellent food, friendly service and a beautiful beach then look no further. Loved that there was amazing snorkeling right at the resort beach, loved that no one harassed you to buy this or that and the a la carte restaurants were sooo good with top notch food. ( no reservations required except for the Japanese). This is a smaller resort which made it feel more cozy and homey and was in a great location. 20 min from airport, 10 min from downtown. Walking distance to the famous ‘Mambo Beach’ and the aquarium. I would go back in a heartbeat! I have travelled extensively throughout the Caribbean and this was excellent value.

Hotel was clean and though a little older it was well maintained. Staff was friendly and professional. Nice beach and great snorkeling. Entertainment could have been a little better. We had a great family vacation. Relaxing as you want it to be, but there is stuff to do if you want some adventure. Would definitely go back.

Great Vacation!
Overall we had a great time at the Sunscape in Curacao. The resort has a tower section with newer and updated rooms but there are also older sections and the rooms are in need of some updating. We stayed in an older room and it worked out just fine. Everything is clean and the beds were very comfortable. What really makes this resort is the staff! Everyone is simply outstanding. They work hard to make sure you have a good vacation. Absolutely everyone was very helpful, professional and extremely friendly. The beach is private which is very nice and there was a lot of room for everyone. The fish are beautiful and swim right up to the shallow water but lots to see near the rocks. Food was amazing. Reservations were not needed at most restaurants other than the Japanese restaurant which is a MUST. All of our meals were very good and above average for sure. There were plenty of beach bars but we found the best one to be the Oceana Bar throughout the day. Kenneth was the bartender everyday and he is outstanding. Overall with some updating of rooms this can be a top end resort but we had a great time. Curacao is a beautiful island and the people are very warm. Thanks to Taylor Curtis at trip central for recommending!

Very good family resort
We loved this resort for snorkeling right on the beach. There was not a lot of night life and partying so we really liked that as we have a 4 and 6 year old. We also rented a car and drove the island one day which was fairly easy with maps.me to navigate us. The excursions were quite pricey with a family of 4 so that is why we rented the car. We highly recommend the aquarium in Willemstad it was so cool. The grounds for the hotel were very clean and well taken care of, the staff was very friendly, it also was not overly busy on the beach. The food was okay but very repetitive and we were very disappointed that there was no seafood in the buffet. When you come to an island you expect some seafood in the buffet. You can purchase a lobster dinner for 2 for $160 which I believe is the reason they don't put it in the buffet so that people will purchase it.. Overall a good resort and would recommend it but we would try a different resort if we went back to Curacao.

Beautiful Beach
If you are looking for a small & quiet resort with a beautiful beach - Sunscape Curaçao is for you! Pros: Beach, crystal clear water, relaxing, quiet, and friendly staff/service. Cons: Not enough beach loungers for the number of guests, & some issues with the hot water/toilet in our room. Overall this is a great resort - the resort/rooms are dated but have all the amenities you need. The buffet is good and the food at the restaurants are decent. The Teppanyaki restaurant was great! Amazing snorkeling right off the beach.

Great trip!
My husband and I were traveling with two 7 month old twin girls as well as two other couples. This resort was very quaint compared to others we have stayed at, and we enjoyed every minute. The staff was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we were having a lovely time. The rooms could use some updating however they were very clean. The beach has a break wall which made swimming with the babies safe and easy. Snorkeling was amazing too. There really was no night life on the resort with the exception of the casino however, you could easily find nightlife outside of the resort as the island was easy to Navigate. One area that left much to be desired was the lack of chairs on the beach. For such a small resort, they really should have more chairs available. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and would go back again!

Has gone down hill!
It was my 9th time on the island of Curacao. I normally visit curaçao or Aruba every winter. It was my 3rd time at sunscape property and I must say it was very disappointing and will probably never return. Where do I start... 1.The Room was large and clean however the shower wouldn’t drain and most importantly we had NO hot water till the last day. Washing long hair in freezing cold water was a nightmare!! 2. The alcohol was super low budget!! Brands I had never seen or heard of!! I had canned pop, bottled beer or champagne all week. The juice/mixes we in unmarked jugs and looked untrustworthy! 3. Food was not the same quality as past visits! Best place all week was the Japanese restaurant. Honestly, I’m normally not to picky but if I had to compare this vacation I would compare this to Cuba standards!!! If I wanted cuba standards, I would have paid Cuba prices and received Cuba quality. 4. Some staff were super helpful and kind but most, treated you as if they were doing you a favour. 5.entertainment was good and the staff worked very hard 6. I had a daily alarm set for 6am to ensure we had a beach hut and shade. Although, that was annoying the Beach was nice, no complaints Doesn’t this all sound like a relaxing vacation?! I will not return to this resort

Mixed review
Hello there, Maria,,, Thanks for booking our trip, and taking good care of us with the wheelchair boarding. We spent an interesting week at Sunscape, Curacao. Nice hotel, and grounds...swimming pools were not what I would have expected...no lap swimming available, and not very deep. I must say that they are in the midst of renovating their facilities, ...because the restaurant areas left something to be desired. Meals were adequate, service passable at best. Room had flaws...shower door didn't work...from the first day, ceiling in bathroom leaked. Neighbours upstairs told us their toilet had overflowed....left us wondering why the ceiling continued to leak until the day they left..which was the day before we left. The hotel staff did not offer to move us to another room. Maid service was adequate, although we had to always chase them for towels, bottled water, and toilet paper. The smoke detector went off once and staff had to quiet it. We were situated by the Oceanic Restaurant where I believe there may have been a problem or two. On the first occasion, we realized the floor was the beach sand only. There I may have sustained many bites of some sort. All of the restaurants, except the Italian one had basically beach sand as a base with perhaps wood floors over. I am suffering quite a bit now that I am home, with extraordinarily itchy, burning bites all over my limbs...No see ums or mosquitoes, I don't know which...may have to take a trip to the doctors office for this...they are seemingly becoming infected. My travel partner became violently ill the first night with a stomach problem,,,we trace it back to a dish at the Oceania,,,civache, I believe it was called. No other plausible explanation for it. I had heat stroke I believe one night....heat was truly unbearable for me at times. It did seem as though families would have appreciated the facility though as it seemed to be child oriented and family friendly. I liked the all inclusive part....we didn't have to pay for any amenities or extras. Aquarium was a nice trip,,,and close to hotel. That was a positive thumbs up. And Willemstad was nice, although the heat prevented us from exploring it further. It was a good souvenir hunting excursion though. And the tour operators were very good. We even got a ride from another hotel's tour bus driver when the city bus was not available to us,,,for no charge! Very nice staff and people there on the island. Perhaps you should warn people about the bugs, and to bring bug spray, ...had I known about this problem, I would have packed some, and used it prior to. The beach was lovely though, as well as the ocean waters, and availability of kayaking, diving equipment, etc was good, although I did not make use of this.

Exceeded our expectations
We chose this resort for the snorkeling. It’s our fourth time there. The beach with the offshore breakwater/reef is the perfect habitat for a huge variety of fish. You name it we saw it including a green moray and a spotted eel. It’s always calm on the inside of the reef and the outside is calm enough some days with all kinds of healthy coral and great visibility. We had no complaints about food or drink. We went to all restaurants and found the Italian to be our favourite. Our room was in the Royal Tour on main floor looking out to the ocean. Quite satisfactory and well maintained by daily maid service. What struck me most was how helpful all the staff were and it was a pleasure to watch them Interact - they all gave the impression that they enjoy working there and are treated well. We will be going back.

Big disappointment!!!!
We had no issues with Air Canada flights but we were very disappointed with the Sunscape and Sun Club upgrade that we paid extra for, for the following reasons. Problems accessing our room (8105) upon arrival - Required door repairs. Patio door wouldn't open in this room either. No wash cloths or hand towels on several occasions Shower door allowed water to spray out all over floor in room 8104 A/C didn't work in Rm 8105 for 2 days. A/C repaired day 3 in Rm 8105 (as well as shower door which we were not told about - no use of room all day Tues until about 4 pm) - nothing but a "sorry for the inconvenience " from the hotel Shower drain was clogged and didn't drain very well in 8105 - had to call service again Room 8104 had issues with safe 3 times Pillows were awful - very small Food was terrible - precooked hamburger/hot dogs, fries, pasta at 2 restaurants for lunch, breakfast food was rarely hot unless you had a fresh cooked omelet Dinner buffet was very limited - not much selection A la carte restaurants were mediocre except Japanese restaurant was very good. New washroom/shower construction right at the pool area outside our rooms which we weren't made aware of. Lots of noise and concrete dust by the pool! Buffet restaurant was also under construction which we only heard about 2 weeks before our trip. As for the extra we paid for "Sun Club" we cannot see what we paid extra for. The check in took longer and the VIP lounge was at the front reception area at the opposite end of the resort. The red wine was terrible-unless you wanted to buy wine in the restaurants. The pool bar by building we were in had no blender drinks like the main pool bars. The location of this resort is stunning and the staff for the most part were friendly. We made the best of this vacation but would definitely not recommend this resort.

Sunscape Curacao
Curacao is a beautiful island! Sunscape hotel was fantastic overall. Excellent service, staff very helpful. Entertainment staff has boundless energy! Hotel and grounds very clean. Lots of activities and abundant beach area. Only issue was the food. Need more variety with the lunch and dinner menus, especially the buffets. At the buffets, the same menu was used for lunch and dinner for the entire week. And yes--the restaurants for dinner have different selections. Te service was 10 out of 10, but the food was just average.

Great Resort
The rooms were very clean. They were cleaned daily and our fridge was stocked. Loved our oceanfront room. The staff was friendly and the entertainment staff was A lot of fun. My only complaint was the food. It lacked variety. The buffet was always the same and the restaurant meals could use revamping. I loved the coffee cafe. And the evening snacks that was provided. The drinks were strong.

Used to be a very enjoyable resort. This year, cold food, one bar only had Bacardi which they would regularly tun out of, renovations etc. We were told about the renovations approx 12 hours before departure. Prices went way up but Resort has become a 2*. Will not go back!!! Absolutely no fun, a lot of very unhappy people.

This report is perfect for families with young and teen children. The beach is amazing and the hotel is small enough to feel safe for youngsters to wander around, but big enough to offer enough variety of services.
