Beautiful beach clear water no seaweed which made us very happy, Beautiful grounds, eco friendly which was good and bad for me, we couldn't enjoy the lobby due to no air conditioner and no fan, so we were basically drenched in sweat, the food was very good and the employees was very helpful, I wouldn't go back to this resort ,but would choose a more upgraded resort next time...cozumel is beautiful.

We spent a week here (June ‘26) and it was absolutely fabulous. The staff were lovely, friendly and engaging. The activity crew were amazing, especially Joselyn, who was so outgoing and really took pride in her work. The food was excellent! There were delicious selections at the buffet (we only ate breakfast and a few dinners here) but enjoyed it very much! The Asian and Mexican à la cart restaurants were extraordinary. No pre-booking required and no long waits. The rooms are spread out in colourful bungalow type units. Our room had high ceilings and was well air conditioned. There are fresh water refill stations spread across the resort with glass jugs in the room to fill. The bar fridge was well stocked daily with beer and soft drinks. The beautiful trees and landscaping, with birds singing all day was my favourite part, along with the beautiful flamingos and peacocks roaming the paths. The only small downside was the coral entry to the beach. Water shoes were a must but the beach had plenty of lounge chairs and there was lots of room with nice white sand. There is a long pier with entry to the water which was great. . I would highly recommend this resort. Many patrons staying at the hotel had been multiple times and I can understand why! We would highly recommend the Iberostar Waves Resort!

Staff wonderful. Food plentiful and tasty - many plant based options which we enjoyed a lot. Beach was small with rocky access (bring water shoes) and snorkeling from the dock. Beach walk 1+km each way. Weather 30+C each day with some showers overnight. Rooms were clean, beds comfy and close to beach/pool and restaurants. No stairs. Have brand name liquor and dos equois beer. Small resort so quiet and relaxed for couples and families. Many activities if you want to on beach and in pool. Dive shop on premise with many boat loads of divers and snorkelers all day. Trips from resort by boat and 4x4 ranging from U$80-140 per day. Will go back.

The grounds were outstanding. Love the feeling of being in nature. Food at the buffet was good. The Asian restaurant was very loud and the food was disappointing. We had to upgrade our home. Our original room was dark and musty. The upgrade room was on a second floor, much brighter but still musty. Bed was very comfy. Wished there would have been bicycles available.

We spent a week at this resort two weeks ago, and we like our vacation at Iberostar very much. Transfers, check-in and check-out were quick. We got the room that we asked for. The room was in good condition, hot and cold water had excellent pressure, shampoo and conditioner were of a good quality, beds were comfortable, linens were all nice and clean. The resort itself has been well maintained and makes great impression: jungle like greenery all around the resort is fresh and beautiful. Christmas decor in December looks super nice in the evening and creates a very pleasant ambiance. The main buffet and the one close to the beach are both good. The variety of food is great, and all food is very tasty. The only negative experience at the main buffet was cat like animals that get to the buffet at dinner time and make a mess around dirty dishes that wait to be put away. Staff at the buffet tried to keep these animals away but unsuccessfully because there were way too many of these animals there, and their behavior was unpleasant. We didn't go to any restaurants this time because we weren't impressed with food there last year, so we can't comment on restaurants this time. The beach and the Caribbean Sea are lovely at this resort. Water is crystal clear, calm and warm, and there is lots of fish to see right at the dock. Water shoes aren't needed if you prefer swimming off the dock (there are dock steps to the water there).. If you want to go in the water from the beach, water shoes are highly recommended. The resort is a paradise for divers - all places where divers go are exceptionally interesting, and dives are very well organized. Snorkeling trips are amazing, too and highly recommended for all underwater world lovers. Night entertainment at the resort was so-so in general; however, we liked the Fire show. It was really interesting. Service at the resort is fine, in our opinion. Overall, we had a very nice week at this location, and will be back.

Overall we enjoyed our two weeks. Pools excellent, easy to secure loungers, beach ok for walking to the left only but could not enter the ocean due to wide stretch of coral. Could walk off diving pier to swim and do some snorkeling. Entertainment was first class with their own staff singing and dancing with no lipsyncing. Staff all helpful and very friendly We rate the food options as very good with just a couple of hiccups eg no bacon available most mornings Bar service and cocktails were very good Ambience is incredible as resort is situated in a beautifully landscaped jungle setting. Rooms are all one story or two story 4 room buildings. Rooms overall were very good

Lovely location, clean well cared for grounds and buildings. Super pleasant and accommodating staff. Great entertainment team with always something going on, but not pushy to get you to join if not interested. Loved that you can see the beach/water from pool area and good location of amenities like bathrooms and water/ice stations

Stayed for a week in March. The resort had beautiful grounds with a variety of wildlife roaming around. The food was really good, we preferred the buffets over the a la cartes. The rooms were basic but had nice, updated bathrooms. All the rooms had a terrace or balcony. You actually enter the room through the balcony/terrace door, there is no other door. You have to get up early if you want a chair in the shade, the resort definitely could use more shaded areas (as with most resorts). There are however cruise ship people that come on a day pass so you definitely need to find a chair before they come onto the resort otherwise it’s slim pickings. Very friendly staff. Overall a great stay!

This resort is absolutely beautiful. The natural surroundings are stunning; very clean and well kept. The attention to detail is noticeable. I loved the variety of tropical plants and there were so many birds and small animals. The food never disappointed, and the Smokehouse was our favourite by far. The staff were happy and nice to talk to. The location is secluded and felt safe. Only downfall is that a hurricane many years ago washed away some of the beach sand, exposing some rocks along the beach. The beach is beautiful for waking, sunning, playing, but you'll want to go in at the pier to swim or snorkel. I recommend this resort 100% and can't wait to go back!!!

We have been coming to this resort for many years and we have never been disappointed- we couldn't get our usual room but one directly behind it which was fabulous as well. Food was great also and the grounds are amazing- another reason why we keep coming back. Absolutely no complaints at all- we will always come back.

Resort is small, very rustic, a lot of vegetation around buildings. Rooms are clean, they have 3 restaurants and you don't need reservations for them. Entertainment team great. Beach is nice but small, you can do a bit of snorkeling. The only inconvenience is that you cannot get into the sea without water shoes because of the rocks.

The food is outstanding! There's something for everyone! The people that work there work very hard to keep the place clean and people moving. And the dive shop is exceptional! Saw some beautiful fish coral reef sharks spotted eagle rays!

The hotel was amazing - clean, service was great, food was OK, drinks were good, beach was awesome, pool was lovely - there was always chairs to sit in, whether it be by the beach or the pool, so we didn't feel crowded. We took an excursion around the island which was also very good and well organized. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing, satisfying holiday.

This was the 6th time my wife & I were at Iberostar Cozumel .The resort facilities were well maintained, the staff was very friendly & attentive and the food was well prepared. For people looking for a relaxing, somewhat quiet vacation, this is the place to consider. The large pool is at a 4 foot depth throughout,and it was never crowded ( only the swim up bars at various times).Since many guests are divers, the overall atmosphere is more subdued. Our only disappointment was with the specialized dining restaurants which had scaled back their evening menus. Besides the more limited choices in the Mexican & Chinese restaurants, the previous steak house has become a smoke house which only provides a pre-determined main course. Hopefully this will change, since many visitors were echoing similar sentiments.

A reasonably good break after 2 vacation starved years! Chose Iberostar Cozumel based on the the reviews which seemed to rate it well and because it presented also as a Dive Resort. However, while the 2-storey quad accomodation units blend beautifully into the L/scape and the rooms though dated are clean, in almost every other department it was mediocre at best. Food was ok but never 4 star, and repetitive. Buffet probably had the best to offer, after the Steak Restaurant which was actually quite good. The Mexican and Oriental restaurants were sub par and a huge dissappointment - give them a miss! While general landscaping is decent and clean the beach unfortunately is extremely rocky and dicey to negotiate getting into the water - this was across the entire length of the beach line and beyond, and snorkeling was hopeless except for the shoal of fish under the jetty. Did not use the pool, so won't comment. Too few beach Palapas and you have to scramble early to find a decent shade spot. For Scuba diving Cozumel is one of the best places to go (no matter which shop you dive with) but I just could not take in the cramped 20+ divers to one boat Dressel operation which ran like a busy Bus Stop.from the pier, dawn to dusk and into the night. Hotel Staff made a good effort with their nightl and day entertainment. Would I go to Iberostar again? No.

Very much enjoyed the resort. Food was excellent, friendly staff, comfortable rooms. I forgot my water shoes so wasn’t in the ocean as much as I’d hoped. I’d definitely return with shoes in hand. The resident flamingos were a plus.

Very pleasant surroundings. Small, 4-unit buildings scattered throughout a well maintained tropical park with stone paths and lush vegetation around. Clean swimming pools, lobby area, a spacious buffet restaurant with no walls - airy and open. Excellent food. Crystal clear sea water with lots of fish visible (unless there are waves – then visibility drops). The best access to the water is from a pier due to coral rocks at the water edge. You can arrange snorkel trips (55 U$ per person) to be picked up from the hotel pier. Hobie catamarans available free of charge if you are comfortable to operate them yourself.

We've been on vacations to Mexico but this was our first time staying in Cozumel. In summary, we were not disappointed. The Iberostar property is clean, has very friendly staff and well maintained. Our room was on the second level of one of the cottages and although a bit small, was very clean and well appointed. We ate at all the restaurants and found to be fresh and delicious. Our daughter is vegetarian and had no trouble finding items to eat. The only minor criticism that I can mention is that some buffet items were sometimes a bit slow to be replenished but this happened only a few times. We never had an issue getting loungers on the beach although the finding a vacant pair around the pool after lunch was a challenge. Evening entertainment was fun and took place both in the main lobby followed by a variety of live shows in the open air theatre. We are a family of divers and enjoyed the onsite Dressel Dive shop. Its easy to see why Cozumel is such a popular scuba location. The beach was the only disappointment. Although clean and sandy, you'll need beach shoes to save your feet from the rocks when entering the water. Snorkelling at the resort was sub-par with the only fish found by the boat dock. That said, the beach itself is very clean and suitable for shoreline walks. We'd recommend this resort to our friends and family.

This was a beautiful hotel, with a large, spread out arrangement of small 2 storey buildings w/ 8 rooms a piece. Breakfast and dinner are both served at the building closest to the entrance to the property, so if you are in a beach side room, as we were, just expect an ~ 500 m walk (each way) to your meal. We had 3 year old twins with us, who suddenly lost the ability to walk when required, and insisted on being carried each time, in the hot sun. Not bringing a stroller was my fault, but it definitely affected my feelings about this place. The room was small, almost European in feel, but had everything we needed. That was, until the fridge broke, the ice bucket broke, the a/c stopped working (for whole resort) for a day, and the shower always toggled b/w cold and hot constantly, such that my children screamed in pain when i would try to wash the sand out of their nether regions. There is also a hammock directly outside of everyone’s room door, which ended up just being a nuisance b/c it was always in the way when we were coming and going. The food was pretty decent, and almost always available. Maybe some things would get swept away quickly, ahem mango, and you’d have a better chance of getting toilet paper during a corona virus freak out, but there were plenty of options. Plates, however, were often in short supply. The pools were not heated, and even though it was ~25-28 outside, everyone screamed upon entry. Cozumel is a very windy island, so you will be quite chilled if you try to sit half in and half out of the pool. The only kiddie pool options were very small and had two depth choices, 6 inches and 12 inches. I’m not kidding. Needless to say, almost no children wanted to play in these.... puddles? Babies less than 12 months seemed to like them. But we ended up renting a Jeep ($50/day) and driving to the windy side of the island where one reef breaks the waves and all the locals take their kids. Went there 4 days in a row, and LOVED it. There was a solar powered ice cream bike/cart who came in the afternoons and served the best lemon/lime ice cream i could imagine. The beach at the resort was lovely. Don’t expect to be able to walk in, as there is a big rocky out cropping right at the water line, but there is a dock with stairs at the end to bypass this. If you have kids like mine, this might be an issue. My toddlers wanted to wade in, not walk 150 feet down a “scary” dock and then into 5 ft deep water. But for most people, this would be a non-issue. There are two parrots named Pepe and Hugo who live in the lobby, loose, and they were the highlight of the trip for us.

The hotel was clean and the grounds were beautiful. Our room was great with a nice balcony and pool view. The staff were very helpful and made our stay very comfortable. The waters were a bit rough while we were there as the weather was cooler then normal so the snorkelling was not as good as usual. We did snorkel off the end of the dock and did see some colourful fish. I would recommend this hotel and would go back for another winter vacation. Linda & Ross Beattie

The resort grounds were very tropical and nice. Food was pretty decent. Beach was kind of a turn off because of all the rock. Entertainment was great but the only thing is there was not much going on afterwards. More of a night life would have been ideal!! Overall I’d give it a 7out 10

The food was great, the accommodations were nice. Was disappointed that I upgraded to prestige. Did not find it worth the extra money. Not really any extra perks with the upgrade to prestige. None of the workers had any knowledge of the upgrade and there was one spot on resort for prestige which we didnt even find until our 3rd day.

We visited Iberostar Cozumel for a week with 5 other friends and family. The resort is Clean and the staff are friendly. The food was great and our time spent on the beach and in the pool was perfect. My expectations were not quite met with a special birthday decoration request for our room that I paid for. But I would still recommend this resort to my friends and family.

This was my first time going to a resort. The resort was absolutely beautiful, the suites were quaint and had everything you needed with a new cute towel animal every day! The snorkeling was some of the best and had incredible ocean life right off the shore of the resort. The staff was very accommodating and incredibly friendly with tonnes of activities going on every day. The buffet as well as the a la cartes were amazing. I will definately be going back again! We wished we didnt have to leave.

We have been to cozumel 3 times before and this is by far the nicest resort we have stayed at. The 2 storey bungalow type rooms are beautiful. The resort is not too big, just right, never felt crowded. I love when you can sit by the pool and look out at the ocean and you can do this here. Food was amazing. Service top notch. I would return to this resort again and I usually never go the the same place twice. Totally recommend this resort. We went with our adult children and there partners and there was something for all of us. Great snorkeling in Cozumel.Dive shop on site that my husband and son used. give this place a try, you will not be disappointed.

Family Vacation January 20, 2020 . It was the most beautiful resort @ Iberstar The staff where friendly , The rooms where amazing very clean and fresh, if we needed anything there was always a staff on site. The flamingos and Peacocks where so entertaining, The Buffets where huge and so many choices to choose from the presentation was fabulous desserts where amazing. Cooks did a fantastic job! The pools were very clean and all threw the property. Every night there was a show for all ages. Went scuba diving and snorkeling ocean was clean and you differently see all kinds of fish. I would take my family back again we all had a fantastic vacation. I would recommend this beautiful resort

The grounds and nature reserve are beautiful and make this hotel worth staying at. The staff were very friendly and took care of all our requests very quickly. I don’t usually go to all inclusive hotels because I don’t like crowded beach and pool areas with not enough lounges and shade. I would highly recommend upgrading to the Prestige Package, it’s worth the extra money. We had a very exclusive experience, no shortage of chairs, shade and great service! This hotel is a very good value for the money.

We were very pleased with the resort, staff, food and entertainment, this was one of our favourite trips, everything from booking, flight and stay went perfect we couldn’t be happier except for the fact of having to come home

The star prestige area is well worth the extra expense! Beautiful beach area and pool. However, you cannot directly enter the ocean without water shoes due to rocks. The rooms are very nice, clean and well maintained. Will definitely be planning a trip back to Iberostar Cozumel in the future!

This is the second time I have been to iberostar Cozumel, this resort does not disappoint. The food is awesome, the dinner buffet has a different selection each night and the servers and cooks are always working hard and making sure you are happy with what you have. The resort is so lush and beautiful, you can see all the hard work the maintenance crew puts into the property. All of the employees at iberostar are amazing, Miguel and Cesar are we’re the best entertainers and we’re always having fun with the guests, Francisco was our pool bartender for the week and never disappointed. All the rooms were very clean and we’re maintained that way throughout the week of our stay. The beach has a lot of coral so beach shoes are needed or you can enter the ocean by the pier which is what we did and water shoes were not needed, the pool is very large and has dual access to the pool bar. This resort has a new show each night but does not have much of a nightlife after the show ends at about 2300. Overall we had a great stay at iberostar Cozumel and I would highly recommend this resort to all my friends and family.

The hotel and grounds are very clean. With the Flamingos, Peacocks and Inguinas the resort environment was amazing! Staff really take care of guest needs. The rooms were great. Food and drinks were good too for the most part. We had two a la carte meals during our stay. One was Asian, which was not our taste and the second was Steak night. Our steak were cooked as request and tender however they were a bit salty. Our server for breakfast was somewhat invisible each day however the dinner server more then made up for it. Pablo was amazing! Overall experience was very good and I would return again! We had a group of nine and all of us had a great time!

We were blown away by the welcoming lobby with the truly beautiful outdoor space. The staff were all friendly and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Food was incredible, with lots of variety for everyone. Rooms were big with all the modern conveniences. Definitely coming back.

The whole trip was the best. The view from the hotel was beautiful I loved the jungle feeling. The beach was mostly rock but besides that everything was perfect about the beach. The snack bar at the beach had the best food. Pepai was one of my best friends there and the cats were so nice one of them kept coming to my hotel room. I loved the tropical animals that would greet me every morning like flamingos. The room, food, services and staff were perfect. I would recommend everybody to go to this resort. :)

I will start off with "it was okay" people come here to get away from their busy lives but coming here did not provide any reprieve. The positive features of the resort is the cleanliness of the rooms, facilities, pools and lounge areas, my friends and I never had a problem the whole 7 days we were there. Staff is polite and not too pushy for tips, food was very good with a variety to choose from. Unfortunately that’s about it for positive notes, the resort is very small with not much to do, my friends and I tried going on excursions to pass the time except any activity is extremely expensive. Mexican Pesos is a waste don’t bother with it they only use USD, if you try paying in Peso they convert it over costing you twice in conversion rates. My friends and I thought we’d try was scuba diving which once again isn’t cheap, and I recommend avoiding, the dive club on the beach is a big scam they’ll take your money and not give it back when the weather cancels the dive. I had the star prestige upgrade too which is a colossal waste, it is just a small hut at the corner of the resort that was too much of an inconvenience to go to and the rest of the resort didn’t do anything for prestige upgraded passes. Only when it was time to go home did I begin to relax, I felt like I was trapped on timeshare prison island getting flogged by sales and marketing people all day. Many people there only stayed 3 or 4 nights which is very smart, avoid staying a whole week it is very stressful.

Stunning, natural, unique resort. The Iberostar resort is beautiful. Lush green natural vegetation amount the cottages and pathways to the lobby, restaurants and the beach. The staff of the Iberostar were wonderful, professional and very thoughtful. The food selection was amazing. The food was incredible and plentiful. The spa area was beautiful.....and we enjoyed a couples massage. We were greeted daily by the pink flamingos and the parrots in the lobby, Peacocks roamed the resort leisurely and were such a welcome site at the beach or pool area. Quite an experience. We will be back next year.

Hotel very nice. Room were in one and two story buildings dotted throughout the property. Paid extra to be close to pool and beach...felt worth it. Two comfortable beds, stocked fridge {Beer, water, pop) good sized bathroom along with balcony w hammock. Jungle lined walkway connects areas of resort. One big pool divided in two by swim up bar. One side quiet, the other for pool games. Beach front large with plenty of shade. Sadly not an easy entry into ocean...stairs into water off long pier. Food was ok. Breakfast at buffet was tiresome...coffee tasted like it was powdered/instant. Lunch served in poolside/steak house building. Usually good selection. Also a burger/salad/hotdog/nacho snack bar by beach. Chinese rest. was good food and atmosphere. Mexican rest. was lit too bright and food was ok. Steakhouse was good. Tenderloin chewy, but beef back ribs awesome (too much bbq sauce dumped on). Staff were all great, grounds beautiful, food ok, pool and beach large though entering ocean required walk to pier. 20 mins to town/airport. Stocked bar fridge. Free Wifi throughout resort...even beach. I would go back happily.

My husband and I just returned from this resort where we travelled with another couple. This was our third visit to Cozumel but our first time at this resort. The food at both the buffet and Oriental and Steak House A La Carte's, was the best that we've had at any all inclusive anywhere. The accommodations' are in bright one and two story buildings with 4 units on each level. Each room has an outside chair, table and hammock. The rooms are a decent size, clean and quiet but nothing fancy. The grounds are well maintained, lush and beautiful with lots of wildlife. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Look for Paty at the beach or by the pool and she will great you with a warm smile and charm you with her personality. As at most, if not all, resorts on Cozumel take your water shoes, as the beach and ocean are quite rocky because of the coral. This resort is a great size and has a lot to offer. I would highly recommend this resort if you are looking for a vacation without a lot of loud partying.

Enjoyed our stay!! Loved the 2 bedroom hut Very friendly staff Good food!! Was a little confusing after dark as there are many pathways to get to the rooms wish there was more lights on these paths. That is our only concern Great entertainment and no fighting for beach chairs and poolside Lots of seating!! Would definately go here again. 15 minutes from the airport was a real bonus

Everything Good except beach Completely remove rocks from the beach and make it nice and sandy at least like Paradise Beach Rental Car in Cozumel $16US for 3 days, How come in resort is $90US per day?

love the accomodations. the place is clean no bugs whatsoever.... management really manage the grounds very well.... love the cats patrolling their respective territories... no bugs... no rodents... clean... nice.... food is quite good.

I really enjoyed my 2-weeks vacation. Resort is clean with beautiful gardens, beach is rocky but nice and clean, people very friendly and helpful. Accommodation is very nice, clean and private. It really has character. I would highly recommend to fix those cozy patios, you cannot enjoy them during rainy days, they are leaking.Food was ok, I went only to buffet, variety to choose from. I am not demanding person, it's very easy to please me. And I don't expect perfection. Snorkeling from the beach wasn't as good as I was hoping. Fish are mostly @ pier, but you have many places for snorkeling to go. I took couple of private trips by taxi and it was worth the money spent. If you are looking for quiet place to relax and unwind, avoid high school spring break. My mistake and lesson for the future. But sometimes it was entertaining.

Beautiful grounds, excellent staff, and terrific food! This place totally exceeded our expectations! Room: We had a room by the pool area which couldn't have been better. Rooms are small, very basic, not all that sound proof, but nice and clean (great porch). Food: We ate at two of the specialty restaurants (Mexican & Steakhouse) - highly recommend both. And whenever we ate at the buffet restaurant we always found a nice variety of delicious food. Staff: The best! Only thing missing at this resort - I just wish they had Clamato juice at the bar for my extra spicy Caesars - lol! Other than that...Overall fantastic resort!!! 😊

We enjoyed our vacation at the Iberostar Cozumel. The grounds are beautiful. Very lush tropical feeling. It’s a very low key resort we found. Rooms are small but sufficient, and very clean! Our room had been renovated with a very nice bathroom. Food is decent. All employees wonderful and friendly. One thing to consider at this resort is you cannot easily access entering the water directly from the beach. It is very rocky. They have a pier you walk down and enter the water by walking down some steps. The great part about this is all the wonderful fish that swim around you. That was beautiful! Overall we enjoyed our time at this resort.

I would highly recommend this resort the staff waz great always smiling and ready to help in any way and the food and it was very clean.The night time entertainment was awesome alor of funny acts.We really enjoyed our stay there and will probley return with more friends😎

We loved the jungle like atmosphere. Peacocks , parrots , flamingos and Iguanas to name a few. The food was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was updated to the latest style. The Star Friends entertainment every night was fun and full of talented people. There were many excursions to take part in also. We would visit there again.

Staff extremely friendly , willing to help with anything you need. There were more than enough buffet options, being a smaller resort. The beach was beautiful and never had to worry about getting a beach chair. You had to enter the water off a wharf directly off the beach. The evening entertainment was amazing considering they also worked all day doing the resort entertainment. (Pools, beach, general activities).Over all our best trip to date. Thank you Heather MacIntyre for all your help. Definatley a 5 Star Resort in our eyes. This resort will absolutley be on our return list!

This resort was beautiful. The food was very good and the staff was amazing. I found it to be a very quiet resort...too quiet for us. If you are a diver...this is definitely paradise. For us...we prefer nice beaches and a more lively atmosphere.

We were at this hotel for 2 weeks starting January 6th 2018. We loved this hotel for the following reasons: -Food was very good-food plates changed continualy -A la carte restaurants were very good (specially the Pagoda restaurant) -Rooms kept clean and lots of water bottles available -Shows were the best weve seen (specially the rock show and Pirates) -Star Friends: Super specially Fernanda -Hotel service great-they take good care of their clients -Only about 30 minutes from the airport -Very good place for scuba diving The only negative thing is the rocky beach wich you need beach shoes.

Very nice little resort. Loved the jungle feel. Clean and comfortable room. Buffets are very good and change theme every night. A la carte restaurants are very good too (oriental is the best). The staff is very polite and I always had good service at bars or restaurants. The resort is well maintained. Pool is nice but would like to be heated. The only bad part of the resort is the beach. You can't walk directly into the water because the beach is very rocky. There's a pier to descend into the water that have a lot of fish staying nearby so it's fun for snorkeling. Wifi all around the resort. The best part of the resort is the star friends. They do games in the day and shows at night. The fire show and rock show were amazing! They are very dedicated to make your stay enjoyable. I recommend taking a taxi to go shopping downtown and the tequila tour is very fun too. I enjoyed my stay very much.

The grounds are beautiful. Feels like we were in the middle of a jungle. Rooms are like huts , it was hard to regulate temperate . High humidity. A downer was that we had no warning they were spraying for termites. Right next to our hut for most of the day. It stank— afraid to inhale. The people were very friendly ; entertainment was good.

Beach was nice. Snorkeling off the dock was the highlight. Food was good until I got food poisoning the 2nd to last day. Killed the rest of the trip. Beats pill was stolen form my bag at Mexico airport. Room smelt like smoke.

It was our second time at the Iberostar Cozumel. I must and foremost praise the staff which was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the composting and sour smell was overwhelming. The area of the main lobby and main restaurant as well as the show theatre smelled so bad it was terrible. I was renting two rooms and room 2612 smelled like shit, pretty much like the composting site, which is not acceptable. The steak house was very good while the Mexican restaurant was disappointing. The beach area is non existant and requires shoes as there is no sand, just coral and rocks. The snorkelling is good having seen Moray eel, barracuda, octopus, and plenty of fish. The Christmas diner (buffet) was ordinary. Unfortunately I will not be returning

Hotel grounds were nice. Only complaint was that the ventilation system was on a motion sensor so that when you left the room the a/c turned off. This would result in your clothes and your bedding became damp because of the humidity. Food was ok.

We enjoyed 10 days at this resort(feb8-feb18)..the rooms are dated but kept exceptionally clean. The first room we were given was very musty smelling and had 2 beds, we were disappointed, but the man who brought our luggage said not to touch anything in the room and to talk to the reception desk..we did this and they were very accommodating and gave us another room more to our liking. The grounds were kept immaculate. The staff were lovely, very friendly and made us feel at home . The food was very good and lots of selection at the buffet. Very nice pool with one side for activities and the other for more relaxation, with the pool bar open to both sides.Small beach with rocky entrance to water (bring water shoes) going in off the pier was fine....lots of beach on either side of resort if you like walking on the beach....the dressel divers on site are very professional, my husband got his certification and enjoyed many dives...you can also go snorkeling with them and they provide you with wetsuits and a guide for the group and take you out to the 2 diving reefs....there is a souvenir shop by the pool where you can paint ceramics and they will bring them back the next day after firing them. ...entertainment was so so, but it didn't really matter to us. .all in all it was a very positive experience, beautiful country, beautiful people and a resort that has more of a village or family feel to it.... the sunsets over the ocean are spectacular rent a vehicle for a day and explore the Atlantic side of the island (ChenRio is a great place to stop for seafood and beautiful beach) Would return in a heartbeat

Very nice resort on a beautiful island. Clean and friendly. Rodrigo from the kitchen made delicious treats and made our family feel welcome. The staff was very helpful to get anything we might need. Rooms were a good size and well kept.

We were looking for a quieter resort with options for snorkelling. Iberostar Cozumel is an older, smaller, resort, with very lush grounds, located close to a number of excellent snorkelling sites. The rooms we stayed in were renovated and kept clean. Because of the high humidity, the rooms did have a musty smell, which one had to get used to. Perhaps a second story room would have been better. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. There was a good assortment of food at the buffet, however, I found most of it way too salty for my taste. The steak house, which required a reservation, was our favourite. I would consider this resort closer to 3.5-4 star resort rather than a 5 star. Having said that, I would still consider returning.

Found the Iberostar Cozumel to be a nice relaxing resort that was smaller in size than the normal places we stay but that worked well for us. The entertainment team was spectacular and had the kids busy most days, the grounds were kept immaculate and clean. We are divers and were located near the dive shop which was a bonus. The beach is very rocky, but you can enter from the pier and snorkel around with the fish. Food was ok, fewer selections than the bigger resorts but all I tired I did enjoy. We had a few bumps along the way, but the management did an excellent job of dealing with all the issues that came up. Rooms are small and cozy, we never ran out of hot water once and we had 4 people showering one after the other. This resort stands as a solid 7 out of 10 for me.

This resort's food was great but rooms need to be redone. Very smelly with dampness. Pool was great. Staff excellent. We paid for superior but don't feel price reflected that. The wild life that was on the resort was excellent.

Staff was great, food delicious with great evening entertainment. Only complaints were that there was no club, just a restaurant open late and the showers went from freezing to scolding hot. We had a great time overall.

This is the second time at Iberostar Cozumel and we had an even better experience than the first. The grounds are lovely with vegetation and exotic birds. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. The food is delicious and fresh. This is diving heaven so if you are not into diving or snorkeling (or just swimming surrounded by fish) the swimming may not be to your liking. The pool is not heated so the water is cold (in January) and the beach is very rocky so entry in the ocean is off the dock. Lastly, the entertainment is very good - highlights are the Fire Show on Thursday and Beatles Tribute band on Monday.

It was smaller then we expected and had a Jungle Theme, lots of trees. On hot days it was always comfortable in the "room" areas. The people that worked there were very kind and helpful. We enjoyed speaking with many of them. We felt very comfortable being able to walk outside the compound which we did a number of times. The pool was great, the activities were wonderful, we did participate a couple of times. They went beyond with food on the beach and the beautiful evening entertainment at the beach. Actually I believe this place had probably the best entertainment of the places we have been or certainly right there on top with the best. The one down fall was that the water had a lot of rock in it and we could not swim in it. If we went on the pier where the fish were we could climb down the stairs and enter the water that way which we did. So if you don't mind a small place and rocks in the water it is a nice place to go. Snorkeling is great and lots of people went scuba diving.

Everything was well keped on the grounds. The birds were well looked after as well as the cats the food was excellent and lots the entertainment was great as they got the audience involved the only thing that disappointed me was our bed it was a double and we were expecting a king but we didnt spend that much time in our room anyway o yes thy even had an umbrella in the room

The place was very beautiful and the scenes and animals added to the forest image they were attempting to portray. The staff were very friendly and engaging. The problem was that I was sick with food poisoning twice (no did not drink too much) and that was a real turn off.

The resort was kept very clean. Staff was extremely friendly and very helpful from the time we checked in to the time we checked out. Food was good, buffet always had lots of choices. Entertainment staff and shows were good, always including the guests.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Iberostar Cozumel. We were fortunate to be given a newly renovated king room (#5204) and found it to be perfect and well serviced. No issues with musty smells, storage or lack of hot water (although a neighboring room was experiencing a strong sewage smell during the week). To those who complain about the lack of hot water, please remember “C” stands for caliente (hot), not cold. The food was inconsistent although the buffets seemed to improve over the week. The steakhouse was quite good, the Asian and Tex-Mex were not. Although I did eat something on the Mexican buffet our last night that caused severe stomach issues I cannot fault the hotel. Food issues can occur anywhere down the line and in fact during one of our lunch buffets I observed a staff member routinely taking the temperature of the buffet items to ensure food safety. The wine was good but the drinks were just okay. We never did find anything on the bar menu that we would want to order twice and wasn’t made with a lot of sugar. The staff were friendly and hardworking and the star friends talented and enthusiastic. We saw a few shows and especially enjoyed the acrobats in the horror show. Would we return? Yes, I think so. The value was excellent and the diving good, both draws that would bring us back at some point in time.

The hotel caters to families and it was quite crowded. The beach is not very inviting, rocky, darker hot sand. Food is very repetitive, "travels" from dinner to lunch and from lunch to dinner. Rooms are small and basic but AC works well. WiFI unpredictable and internet off most of the time. It was our second time at this resort and will be the last.

The hotel was good. Pool was great. Rooms were small and had a musty smell but overall a great vacation. We would love it if they added a bigger kids play area. There is only a small park and no water features.

We were disgusted by the smoking, eating and drinking that was allowed everywhere, even in the pool. There was nowhere that you could escape the smoke, and rules were not enforced. Need segregated areas for smokers so that they don't "kill" the non-smokers and the children who are at the resort. I don't feel that the young children were safe in the pool because of the drink glasses and plates allowed in there.

Hotel rooms: Very colorful 1 or 2 floors little buildings hidden between the trees and gives you a great privacy feeling. There is a hummock for each room. WiFi is free and strong, no extra for the safe box!Very welcoming upon arrival with the great fresh drink! Restaurants are great. 3 a la cart restaurants and 2 buffet. Food selection is great. Pool area and the beach area are very close, there is many seats so you will never need to look for the seat. There is a show on the beach. Take your swimming shoes and the mask for snorkeling to profit the ocean! Show at night was amazing!! The beach party show with the fire performance is amazing! At the Lobby from 8 p.m life music and 2 great singers David and Brenda. You have entertainment team keeping you busy during the day with yoga classes, beach volleyball, airgun shooting, archery, soccer, water aerobics!! what an amazing team!

the grounds of this hotel were really lovely. Lush plantings and very well cared for. Lots of interesting wildlife wandering around. The units were set beautifully among the palms and shrubs and each had a porch with hammock and chair. We enjoyed the buffet restaurants but weren't very impressed with the a la carte ones. Staff were terrific. The beach itself was large and wide and had lots of lounge chairs and many huts and palm trees for shade if you preferred to get out of the sun. The swimming, however, was not good for me. I like to swim in the sea and it was very rocky. I had to wear water shoes and go in off the dock. The pool area was nice, again, lots of loungers. Rooms were decent although ours smelled very musty. Overall we had a good vacation but would not likely go back to that resort.

The Resort was great, the food was good, entertainment was excellent, the beach was poor due to the rocks and corral . It could have been cleaned up and added more sand so that swimmers could swim in it.

We stayed here January 16-23 and wish we could have stayed longer. The rooms were ok, smaller than we are used to, but we weren't there to stay in the room, the beds very comfortable and we never had any issues with hot water. The rooms were really clean, fantastic towel art, the only issue we had with the room was when the air conditioning was turned on, it smelled very musty, they need to do some maintenance on the air. The grounds were lush and very well kept and there were peacocks, wild pigs, flamingos, cats, huge iguanas, parrots and turtles. Because of the humidity the beach had sand fleas, I didn't read the paper they gave us with our welcome package so found out the hard way. There was no problem getting chairs on the beach or a palapa, but most of the chairs around the pool had towels claiming them early in the day. The staff are excellent! very hard workers. The food was good, not fantastic, but good, it became repetitive in the main buffet, and I didn't like the bulk yogurt in the morning. Everyday there was a bar-b-q down near the beach and the food there was excellent. We found the entertainment to be better than we have found in most resorts, very talented young people. If you are a diver this is a perfect resort, I'd say 1/2 the people staying there were divers and would go out several times a day. The cappuccinos were great! There is a store on site and it is not over the top expensive. We went into town one day and it cost $18 on way, but worth it. I would recommend this resort.

The snorkelling at the beach was quite cool most days. At times it was a bit windy and this made the water quite sandy. This obviously impacted visbility. For most days the water was crystal clear. We saw some rays, some crabs, lots of fish and just had a great time snorkeling. The food at the resort was excellent. We had some reservations about the food based on earlier reviews but found these concerns to be unfounded. The drinks were excellent as well, we found the pop corn at the main lobby bar to be quite a welcome surprise. We found the staff to be very conscientious and really made an effort to get to know us. Some of the rooms were a bit stuffy mostly due to moisture buildup. I believe the rooms would benefit through the installation of some exhaust fans. To combat this i would have to leave my door open in the morning to let the moisture escape after my showers. I would also leave any wet towels/clothes outside and would let them airdry.

My family and I had an amazing time at iberostar Cozumel. We also came across a beach bar called Alberto's just a few steps from the hotel. That was also amazing. The only thing I would add is a mini bar in the room with rum, vodka etc. I don't drink beer so having that in the room would be great

Pros: Lovely beach (for Cozumel) with lots of shade options - extremely friendly and helpful staff - attractive grounds with lots of trees Cons: Terrible mildew/musty smell in rooms that comes home on your clothes (OK, it's 90% humidity down there, so dryness is a challenge) - A/C in room is deafening - Some rooms/public spaces flooded (during heavy rainfall) - Food is beautifully presented but not necessarily delicious - Isolated location if you want to go anywhere (240 peso taxi ride to town)

Rooms a little small but you are not in them that long remember the C on the tap is not cold it is hot. The food was great fresh and lots of variaty. The grounds were very clean. I only wish that you could just walk out and swim. The entertainment was terrific every night all in all a nice place to stay thank you staff.

The service, food and entertainment were excellent. The rooms were'nt as good as they could have been. Such inconveniences as leaking sinks and showers that flooded the bathroom. 2door jeeps are very difficult for seniors to get in and out of.

The Resort was fantastic, the food excellent. The shows were fantastic and the star friends were great. Really enjoyed ourselves. This resort is a scuba diving, snorkelling paradise. So the beach wasn't the best for walking into the ocean. You need water shoes.

There is 13 people in our party and we had a fantastic time. The staff was friendly, food was great. Always fresh, lots of vegetables, plenty of variety. different theme nights. The entertainment was good. Our rooms were clean. I can't say more about this resort. The only downfall was the beach. Plenty of huts and chairs but you cant walk into the water. Lots of coral. This place was a scuba driver paradise. I did read that on the reviews but I didn't think it would be as bad as it was. The only way into the water was going out the long pier and down the stairs. We spent most time at the pool which was amazing. Erika was the best. she sat with us at breakfast one morning and remember all of our names for the whole week. They encourage was to play Bingo at pool side, aqua fit in the pool and the guys had us playing volleyball in the pool too. We all had a great time.

This resort was beautiful and wonderfully maintained. The food was great with lots of choices. The Steak House by the beach served the most tender steaks. All of the staff was supper friendly and eager to assist with anything. Really enjoyed our time. The only problem was the weather, as we had five days of rain.

The resort itself had pros and cons it is set in a jungle setting a lot of foliage but not flowers and color we didn't get one mosquito bite they do fog at night i expected to see more iguanas laying around but only saw one as well as a wild pig one night . they have peacocks wondering around but only one male they did have flamingos, turtles and iguanas in front of the buffet the room was disappointing it reminded me of something the flintstones would live in although colourful and clean it had stucco walls the maid did and excellent job they had free wifi in the room with no signin screen the tv had mostly spanish channels but some english there are serious issues with hot water it gets scalding hot and the taps are not in english the "C" is for hot and the "F" is for cold. what we did eventually was to turn the hot and cold on full and then turn back the hot until it got reasonable the food in the buffet was good and lots of varieties a lot of food did not have signage we ate in the ala carte steak house once the food was above average and the reservation was not hard to get. the steak house is the beach buffet in the afternoon the other alternative is the tex mex restaurant its basically ala carte with no reservations. the food and size of the portions was a nice change. however it was loud and bright because it had no windows the beach was excellent and calm. we never had a sand flea bite. the sunsets were perfect with steel grey water. the cruise ships went by the one day at sunset. nice picture but the wife had the camera with her the beach bar made excellent mojitos if you walk to the right on the beach past albertos you can walk forever on the beach and in the water we never went to use the pool and didn't do any activities the shows at night in the theater and beach party was good but starts way to late at 9:30??? i dove at dressel divers, onsite, which were very well organized and i met alot of nice people the only issue is that it's a bit pricey especially with the canadian $ being what it is the reefs were only a short distance from the resort and alot of the divers i spoke with said that's why they keep returning there are so many places to see in the world so i'm not sure i'd return unless it was with a dive group or the price was right

My boyfriend and I traveled as a couple to Iberostar for a week in mid November. The first night we arrived it was pouring rain and we had a leak in our closet - no one really came by to check it out when we called the front desk however it was late and I'm assuming there was nothing to be done about it. It rained in the evenings for 2 days after and didn't leak again. The resort is beautiful, individual bungalows made it feel like we were in the jungle. The AC is powerful and there's a fan for added comfort. It was very humid when we went and the room had a damp feel but there's nothing you can do about it - we left the fan running all day to help with the airflow. There are also wild animals scattered throughout the resort. Flamingos, peacocks, parrots, iguanas (big and small) and we even saw wild pigs at night! The food is amazing! No complaints, we ate like royalty. While we were there, the Japanese restaurant was under renos so we only had the Tex Mex and steakhouse to choose for dinner other than the buffet. The staff did a good job keeping food choices at a variety each night at the buffet as well. The beach is rocky and you can't get in through the front. You have to go to the dock and climb in there, there's tons of fish to see so bring your snorkel gear! The staff was also amazing! They would remember your name, what you liked to drink and ask how your day was going. Even sit down and talk with you if you were having your lunch by the pool. Shoutout to Juan and Orlando who kept up with us all week long. Overall we loved this resort, if you get a chance to rent a jeep and drive around the island I'd suggest doing it. We also went to the main land through the ferry to shop at "fifth avenue" in Playa del Carmen and downtown Cozumel you can see all the cruise ships docked. Downtown is busy, lots of vendors, especially when there are ships. Make sure you take the tequila tour! I would definitely back!

We enjoyed our stay at the Iberostar April 25-29. Staff were friendly and food was great. Rooms were a bit dated. If you are really fussy it's not the resort for you. Enjoyed my mornings on the porch drinking coffee in the hammock. lots of activities going on if you want to join in. Beach in front of this resort Is rocky. You have to walk out on the dock and go into the water from there to swim.

This hotel was absolutely amazing from the time we stepped into the front foyer until the time we left. From the immaculate landscaping to the wild life that was made completely a part of the experience. It was incredibly clean, the service was outstanding, never once feeling the pressure to tip and always getting the best they had to offer. We completely enjoyed our stay at this hotel and it is the first hotel I would complete consider returning to again. Thank you Iberostar Cozumel!! Our family truly had a wonderful time!

This resort was very well maintained, staff was outstanding, clean, and our needs were exceeded. Great place to stay. The snorkeling was amazing and our guides for that excursion were fantastic. Pool was in great condition and Beach was good as well. Of course this is a coral beach area so water shoes are a good idea. Knowing that is important.

Food was good. The grounds were very well maintained and the rooms were nice. Pool area is well laid out and the resort is just the right size. Beach was coral and you could not walk out to swim had to use the peer in front of the dive shop to access the water.

This is an amazing resort. The staff works very hard to make every part of your stay a pleasure.The food is great. Rooms are in need of updates, but clean and reasonable. The grounds are amazing. The overall experience is excellent and all the positive far outway any negative.

From the day of our check-in until the day we left the hotel staff were super friendly and ready and willing to accommodate any request. The Activities Team are so talented, not only did they run the games during the day, but they were also the main entertainers for the live shows at night which involved some pretty amazing skills, fire show, dancing, impersonators, etc. they also get to know the guests by mingling in the lobby before show time. The setting and grounds are beautiful and maintained impeccably filled with wildlife – peacocks, iguanas, parrots, cats. It's not a huge resort so finding your way around is easily managed. We stayed in block 72 and the room was excellent. New mattresses and really comfy. The room was close to the pool and we never had an issue with the pool noise. They could install an extra hook in the bathroom for your towels, etc. The only one they had was next to the toilet which was not convenient. The size of the room was a little small. Lucky the TV stand is open so we were able to store our luggage under it. We enjoyed the pool with the swim up bar and the servers were excellent. You give them a recipe for a drink and they were more than pleased to accommodate you. We were disappointed with the steak at the Steakhouse. The steaks were so tough that we ended up leaving half of it on our plate and the ribs I ordered at the American restaurant in the disco was all fat, hardly any meat. The buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner was good with a variety of food every day and some days they had a special theme day. We ate at the Le Ceiba almost every day for lunch and the food was delicious with a variety of salads, burgers, fries, pasta, fish, Italian, Mexican, etc. The beach was OK but if you wanted to walk into the water it was really rocky. One thing I missed was not having the free Wi-FI in our room or at least offer it free in the lobby so that I could keep in contact with home in case of any emergencies. I would recommend the Iberostar to anyone looking for a relaxing place to stay.

This resort is extremely well run. rooms do need some upkeep, (some have been done already however, the one we stayed in was still quite run down although clean and comfortable. Food - great, staff very friendly. Would definitely recommend this on to friends.

WE TOOK OUR FOUR CHILDREN TO THIS RESORT THIS YEAR, AGES RAGING FROM 10 TO 21 YEARS OLD, WE ALL HAD A GREAT TIME, THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT AND THE NIGHT "SHOW TIME" ENTERTAINMENT WAS THE BEST WE SEEN IN A LONG TIME(ROCK & ROLL SHOW WAS THE BEST), THE RESORT HAD PINK FLMINGOS, PARROTS, LARGE EGUANA'S, PEACKOCKS THAT FED FROM YOUR HANDS, AND WE ALSO SPOTTED TWO WILD PIGS ROAMING THE GROUNDS AT NIGHT?

We had a great time at this resort: the grounds are beautiful with a lot of vegetation and birds (peacocks, flamingos! and parrots), the food was very good with lots of variety and the service excellent. Most of the night time shows were fun (there were maybe two misses). The beach is very rocky but there is a long deck from which we could get into the water and meet the fish. We couldn't go scuba diving because we traveled with small children but they had scuba trips in the morning, afternoon and evening. Overall this was a great resort.

Great selection of food and good variety at all meal times. Staff extremely friendly from housekeeping to front desk and restaurants. Love the wildlife - flamingoes, peacocks, parrots, cats, turtles, iguanas..... Relaxed setting with two storey units with wandering pathways.

We stayed as a couple Feb 4, 2015 for 1 week. We were late arrivals with a small group, so check-in was quick. We were taken to an 8600 room, but it was somewhat musty and had double beds. I went back to the front desk with the Bell man. Within about 15 minutes we had a king bed, as ordered, in the 2400 building. Our 2nd floor King room was larger and recently renovated. The housekeepers did a fantastic job all week, and usually were done fairly early in the am. We had hot water, stocked fridge, and clean sheets when requested. TV was kinda skimpy on the English channels, but we managed. Internet was fairly speedy, although we only used it a couple of days. The beach was coral, as we knew beforehand, so snorkeling was the entertainment. the beach was nice, shade plentiful, and rarely had problems locating a chair. Gaspar at the beach bar is a machine. He takes orders 2 or 3 drinks ahead and never stops giving. With the smaller resort, there is very little waiting in line. Bars, restaurants, front desk, etc. all handle the volume well. The entire staff are friendly and helpful. The grounds are well maintained. We ate in the steakhouse, and the Disco bar. The sirloin at the steakhouse was chewy, [was told after to order the tenderloin], and the steak in the disco was very good. Buffet food was fine, with a wide selection, but somewhat temperature challenged. We did the Polaris tour, the group was quite large, but it was fairly well organized. All in all a very nice hotel, and very pleased with our stay. slick

First of all I must thank Jenn Black from Trip Central for all her help!! She was bang on! This was a beautiful resort. Very helpful and pleasant staff, food was very good! The pool, beach area, grounds were just amazing! Too bad it couldn't be a non smoking resort! We will be back!! Oh and we got engaged while we were there!! SUPER VACATION!!

Staff is wonderful, Food excellent, the grounds, pool and beach outstanding. The rooms could use some upgrades but they already started to do that. We have been going there since 10 Years and that stands for itself.

Beautiful grounds, very well maintained. No grill on the beach, nor at the buffet. Friendly staff. Water gets very murky on windy or stormy days. Snorkelling area is very limited due to boat traffic at the pier.
