Hotel was nice we had problems with our key card alot. Pressure for the shower was poor. Service was great staff was amazing. Food was ok. Beach and pool was awesome. Entertainment was poor drinks were great.

4 adults- had a great time. Good food (for Cuba), good drinks and a goodtime had by all 4 of us. 3rd time at this hotel and hopefully 4th next year. Cuba is suffering from what is going on in this world but we plan on returning if we can next year to Aston Cost Verde Beach Resort.

We have been booking our winter vacations with TripCentral for over 20 years. It has always been a problem-free and stress-free process. This year we booked with Danielle Smith, and we were not disappointed: she was knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and very patient answering all my questions. She offered the Aston Costa Verde hotel, advised on insurance options, reminded us of the formal requirements for the trip, and generally took good care of us. We have been very pleased with the hotel and the services it offers. The beach and the grounds are gorgeous, the hotel and the pools were well-maintained, internet access in the rooms and at the pools, no problems with hot water or electricity, the food was fine, and there were daily activities and entertainment in the evenings. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the hotel organizes a special dinner party for their repeat customers. We are certainly going back and maybe we will make the special dinner some day…

We have been at this resort 6 times. We love the crew, beach and club pool. Finally the snack bar got burgers and fries again!!! Awesome. Want to throw shout out to Wilbur, Leo (club bar), Katerina and our favorite pool guy, Bajonie (definatly spelling that wrong). Bajonie is the guy who keeps the pools running and absolutely pristine. Also our life guards that do a great job keeping an eye on foolish tourist lol. I wish I knew more names of all the great workers but they all are great. We brought the workers a few battery pack chargers, some solar. Power is a great gift.

The hotel and grounds are breathtaking, all the workers and gardeners are so very friendly and hospitable. The beach is paradise, it is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen, the tree line is only 100 feet from the water so it easily gives off this tropical vibe, the beachfront is in a protected bay so most days are calm crystal clear, water, snorkeling, and scuba diving are exceptional here Food could be better, but there is always an array of choices

grounds beach are all fine,found the buffets not as good as last year.. should not have mussells as main corse and then in several side dishes evidently batteries are in short supply for the shuttle carts,evidently other resorts have this problem

Just recently stayed at the resort and our group was impressed. The rooms are a little dated especially washrooms but we went to enjoy the weather not the washrooms ?. The grounds are very well kept, pools are clean and the staff was super friendly. The food was what we expected in Cuba but you will not go hungry. Overall we had a spectacular time and definitely will be going back

This hotel. Well I'm not one to generally complain about things I usually go with the flow and find fun almost anywhere. However I must say something when it needs to be said. The hotel staff were nice and friendly as always like Cubans generally are. Drinks flowed greatly and the beach was fine along with the ocean. The food was, well... "It's Cuba" as they say, but selections are getting limited. Quickly. Fresh pasted only showed up on day 5 of 7. However...WATCH OUT!!!! Room 37314, for sure had bed bugs and I was bit many times. I wasn't aware it was bed bugs until I got home and had it confirmed by the doctor. I just assumed it was mosquito bites, but to be honest there was just too many bites to be consistent with mosquitos. Sadly .... At least in this room, my room and the bed closest to the balcony, there are bed bugs. If you travel to this resort do not stay in room 37314 and be aware that sadly Cuba is sliding down hill. There could be more rooms with bed bugs. It's too bad the Cuba government isn't stepping in and helping themselves and their people. The people of Cuba need their government to step up. I love Cuba, been there 10-times, but it is getting worse each time. And it could be my last trip to Cuba.

Unfortunately when we arrived on January 6 we were notified of a death in our family so had to return home so did not enjoy our vacation m. We would like to commend our Sunwing Representative Annabelle Carballido as if not for her we would not have known what to do. You can tell she loves her job and she cares so once again thank you. Hopefully we can afford to book another trip with trip central

I have been going to Holguin, Cuba for many years and will continue to do so. However, I do not go for the resorts but for the people and friends I have made over the years. The staff at the resort are doing their best to serve their clients but they can only work with what they have. The good: The staff are amazing, the rooms, although dated are clean and comfortable. The beach and the sea are absolutely stunning. The bad: The food is no longer appealing to me, much of it appeared and tasted to be reheated leftovers. The was no fresh fruit or vegetables, butter or fresh juice. I no longer go to the al a Cartes as there is no variety in that either and the food is tasteless. There is also a shortage of staff to serve the clients, and I noted many were very upset with the long wait times. The lack of loungers at the beach and also the pool caused some difficult interactions between clients and staff. Although I did not get bitten by a mosquito due to using a Deet insect repellent daily, the chikungunya virus is rampant in the area, and I did not once see the resort fumigating for the mosquitos as I had in past. Many of my Cuban friends, including resort staff, have been sick with the virus. The resort owners need to put some money and effort into upgrading the resort otherwise I foresee many clients like myself not returning. My opinion is that the resort is not a 4-star as listed on the Trip Central site, but more like a 2.5-star. The value for the money is no longer there.

Very nice place to stay. Although no entertainment at night, mainly elderly people and children visiting. Service is extremely slow and we had to go to front desk 4 times before our sink could have a pipe attached and we could use it. People are nice. Not always the cleanest. Food is not the greatest.

The staff and service were really good it was clean, the food was what I expected in Cuba, there is a fair bit to do in the area Some nice restaurants not far off the resort, my least favourite part was the beach being a bit rocky as you waked out, not everywhere and nothing some water shoes couldn’t take care of all in all a great vacation

I have been going to this hotel since it was called BLEU COSTA VERDE. I have been here MANY times and made many friends along the way. This is the only time that i was not satisfied with my services. I'm not one to complain because i understand the situation going on in cuba. My room was horrible

Every time we choose to go to Cuba, we swear it is the last time. But undoubtedly, we go back because of the price point. This resort lacks in many respects. Some of the issues may be seasonal (the mosquitos at the beach devoured us - mostly because there is a jungle right behind the beach - so bring bug spray if you choose this resort). The food situation was remarkably poorer than usual. There were little to no fruits available. All the dairy and proteins look suspect. I get it, their supply chain limitations are evident. The Beach - this was a bit of a disappontment. You hope that the lack of food and amenities is offset by a beautiful beach. That is not the case. Most of the water has sharp rocks that you have to bypass in order to get to a slightly clearer area. Essentially no running into the water. Then there is the aforementioned mosquitos - you can't see them, but they pack a punch - at least 50-60 bites that I still have healing now several days back. Also the beach is sort of off to the side of the resort, not like where you walk from the resort to beach. Also, maybe seasonal, but there is not lunch restaurant open to go from the beach. We had to come all the way back to the buffet for a bite to eat at lunch. We ended up just asking for a burger at the pool bar to take to the beach. The service is great, everyone is friendly and willing to help out with a smile - I guess this is the one thing they have under their control. The entertainment is sparse, so don't expect a show at night. They have some activities for kids and not much else. There is no "club" to go to dance, mostly just tables in a terrace area where you can sit and drink. The rooms are decent, and they are well attended to. The water in the sink and shower is a murky yellow. Make sure you have bottled water on the counter to brush your teeth. Also in our particular room the water would not drain quickly, probably because of the sand that people shower off. I'm not sure. We did enjoy great weather which can be a saving grace. Enjoy!

We stayed here for 7 days and had an absolutely amazing experience. The people were incredibly nice and accommodating.. from the gardeners to the towel lady, servers, chefs, and kitchen staff, everyone made us feel like family. The resort truly feels like a hidden gem.... peaceful, relaxing, and beautifully maintained. The beach is stunning, with clear water and plenty of space. The food was very good and there were always great options to choose from, which was a pleasant surprise after hearing mixed reviews about food in Cuba. If you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway with warm hospitality and great service, this is the perfect spot. We’ll definitely be returning.

The beach was the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen. Sands were so white and smooth and it went out like that in the water for feet and feet. It had no rocks or any green algae. It was clean and beautiful.

All staff members were excellent. The drinks were not watered down and they had expensive whiskeys. They made a lot of tasty drinks including mojitos, rum and coke, gin and tonic. There was less selection of food compared to my previous trips to Cuba. There was chicken every day and that was good. they also had the omlette station and pasta/stir fry stations. They ran out of bread after the first couple of days. There were no berries and most of the fruit was canned. The 24 hour snack bar had amazing plantain chips. They also had good sandwiches but couldn't make them after they ran out of bread. Limitation in variety of food is to be expected in Cuba. There was plenty of drinking water and there were no power outages. The safe in our room didn't work but we didn't ask to have it fixed. The beach was breath taking but you should bring aqua shoes because it's rocky once you get in. A lot of people go there for the snorkelling. I would recommend bringing toilet paper and wipes to clean your hands as the bathrooms in the common areas weren't always stocked. We weren't close to the lobby which was good because it was quiet. There was a short cut to get to the lobby but we noticed it became wet and weren't sure if there was an issue with the sewage so we used the regular pathway on the sidewalks. They also have the carts that go around to help people with their luggage and they will give you a lift if you need. There was also a band that played in the buffet and in the 24 hour snack bar.

Hello Trip Central I sent the following message to Jenn Black and I got nowhere: We had an hour blackout, plug in room blew out fuses, food in all restaurants were all the same menu and variety of food in Buffett was very limited. I paid extra to be in an ocean view room and I was disappointed. Barely see the ocean mostly see bush. WiFi is very bad and door key magnet erased if close to cell. Twice I had a long walk to reception to get new code. I am over 70 and had no way to get the golf cart. Please see what you can do, with regards to getting us a decent voucher, for the next trip. We knew going in that this resort was not a 5 star and were expecting some issues. But we were pleasantly surprised to see that the resort was quite nice and the room we were given was very spacious with a nice balcony. The bathroom was the szie of a regular hotel room. The only thing we would've like was a coffee maker in the room. If you wanted a coffee in the morning before the breakfast area opened, you had to walk all the way to the main bar to get a coffee. And the line up for the coffee was qute long. There was also the tendency for the power to go off abruptly, sometimes when you were having a shower. One day, due to the power outage and the A/C not working as a result, our room was untolerably hot and we had to finally leave it and go down to the beach. But, all in all, we enjoyed our holiday. The staff are very courteous and very appreciative of any gift you may give them, however small. Makes you realize how much we take for granted in our country. And makes you more thankful.

The hotel was exactly as expected with a beautiful beach, great food and friendly staff. everything was always cleaned. The staff was always busy helping and making our trip memorable. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Just returned from a week at Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort. All went well. The resort itself was neat and clean. Our room was clean and everything worked as you would expect. The attendants worked hard each day to clean up the room and provide any necessary items such as water, beer and tp and towels. The food was quite good dispute several warnings from other travellers that Cuba lacked many items. Our resort was always well stocked and the food choices were plentiful. The beach was great. Good service on the beach and at the bars near by. Friendly and welcoming bartenders and lots of choice for tropical drinks. The staff throughout the resort were extremely helpful and worked hard to make the experience relaxing and fun. Our only concern for the entire week would be the airline. Late both ways but that is not a reflection of the resort itself. Bring a cushion for your beach lounger!

I've been to Cuba many times, but this was my first visit to the resort. There were seven of us in our group, with ages ranging from six to eighty-four, and everyone had a great time. Most people don't rave about the food in Cuba, but we were pleasantly surprised with fabulous local seafood and fresh papayas. There were always many choices and everyone was satisfied. The rooms were comfortable, the beach was perfect for young children, and staff went out of their way to be pleasant and helpful. Next year I will take my own beach towel, because I found the resort towels too big and heavy when wet- plus two of ours "disappeared" on the beach (be very careful with your belongings- this was not our only "loss") and they were expensive to replace. Otherwise, a great week!

We have been to Cuba more than 30 times. Mostly Cayo Guillermo/Cayo Coco. Once to Cayo Santa Maria. This was our first time in Holguin. After our visit in November to Cayo Guillermo we felt like we may never go back because the food and facilities had deteriorated badly. The people and beach are always awesome there. We decided to try Holguin as a last minute to visit friends. We were very happy with this resort. Our room was in the 48 block, very comfortable, hot water and toilet worked perfectly and a free safe. The ocean view is not great compared to others we have had but still beautiful. Food was good, lots of selection, always had eggs and bacon and butter. Lots of snack bar options. Pool is big with swim up bar. Facilities are clean and comfortable. People are amazing as always in Cuba. The beach is a far cry from Cayo Guillermo and super busy but still beautiful for a daily walk and relax. Bring water shoes as it’s pretty rocky to swim. Snorkeling is great right off the beach. Always entertainment happening but if you don’t like that it’s easy to get away from the noise. Overall really great resort. I’m glad we decided to give Cuba another try.

All I can say without writing two pages is.....we just came back from a week and heading back again in 2 months!!!!! Can't wait to get back down. You will not find a better resort. Bang for the buck!!!

This hotel use to b really good, I have not been to it for 12 yrs, since last time his hotel's name changed few times. Really bad service all around, I have never seen a buffet like this ever, this suppose to be a tropical paradise, should have all the tropical fruits, there was only papaya, not even banana some days. With only 15% occupancy. Haven't seen any of the staff, smiling or laughing, everyone seem to be serious and sad. It wasn't a

We just arrived home from our vacation at Aston Costa resort and can only give a A+ . This was our third time at this resort and truly cannot wait to return hopefully in March 2025. The staff are amazing and could not ask for more. They have an employee a driver. for resort named Jamie who definitely cares and goes above and beyond his duties to make vacationers have a fantastic experience. We stayed in 19106 and our cleaning service for room was amazing. Beach is beautiful, drinks great , and food was ok and you never leave hungry. So thank you To all staff at Aston Costa for a fantastic vacation

pre cuba we were worried about some negative reports.fortunately we went to find lot of different food something for everyone as club we went to several a la carte meals and were very pleased.we saw no mosquitos and never used bug spray.the grounds the beach were all great. eveything was kept clean our room had no deficiencies and we slept well,all our staff were anxious to please . but we want to single out your sunwing rep annabel who was extra caring for us . the entertainment was a little spotty partly due to not enough guests to do karaoke or audience participation.my wifes only question..... can we go back next year?

Positive: I liked the staff, very nice and friendly. Very good service. Onsite doctor very helpful. The resort itself is beautiful, with nice pools, a snack bar opened 24/7, nice rooms with comfy beds, AC working and hot shower. THE BEACH is my major positive aspect of this resort, with snorkling spots, beautiful sand and water. We enjoyed it very much. Downsides: We had 2 rooms, both of which had issues with locks that were only temporarily fixed, and caused us issues the whole time. The buffet was full of options, but not the best options. I know it's Cuba. I was not expecting much, especially that our family has dietary restrictions. Pork is in almost everything, even salads, rice and beans. We were hoping for more vegetarian/fish/seafood options. Restaurants are basically the same as the buffet, but with less options, service and nice presentation. Again, not complaining, we had a good deal and ate ok overall. If you have strict food restrictions, might be better to go to another resort. There is entertainment all over the place. Buffet with a band, a stage with shows at night and music starting at 10 am which we hear at the buffet, music and animation team at the beach. I put it on the downside list only because we tend to prefer a more calm resort, but could be a positive aspect to people who likes this kind of ambiance. Overall we had a good deal and enjoyed the beach. However, I would not go back to Holgin, Cuba overall. Too far from the very old and obsolete airport. Was not a fun traveling experience.

I managed to get a week at the Club section of Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort for the second week in June. I had it at an extremely reasonable price. The main reason I went was for the beach. It did not disappoint. Water was very calm everyday and it suited me fine as I have a problem with one of my legs. I was able to swim out to deeper waters although I did wear a life jacket. Swimming alone and doing a little snorkeling I believe in keeping safe with a life jacket on. As previously mentioned by other guests : bring water shoes!!! There was never a day where there was a shortage of beach chairs. As a Club member I had very nice meals all the time. It pays to get to the Club section. Considering the prices that we pay at restaurants nowadays at home, the extra difference that we pay to get to the Club section is minimal. Everyone working at the resort were kind, helpful and polite. Resort was well maintained; my room looked pretty new. The phone worked and so did the safety box. A bottle of water was delivered everyday. Any problem in the room was taken care of immediately. I look forward to my next trip to Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort, hopefully soon.

This resort has so many good things l enjoyed in it. I know there are plans to renovate the lobby which l am looking forward to seeing this in my next visit. The people are kind and helpful. They do their best at what ever area in the resort they work. All to make our stay pleasant and memorable.

I was there 25 of May till 6 of June. The weather was mixed, sun and rain. No wind. The room was fine. Internet, AC, electricity, running water, (cold and hot!) were flawless. Clean, no insects (almost). Quit and safe, first floor. Food was mixed. It was enough fruits and vegetables.but no eggs, no fish, no meat, no chicken. Some knees, elbows and semi digested fish, and a lot of mishmash of yesterday's food.The bar was OK, snacks were above average. The store has cigarettes and booze. The pool is very shallow. There is another pool of normal depth, but it is "club only"now.The beach is the best possible.

This hotel is one of 2 hotels I go to in Holguin cuba. I love it so much, it's a home away from home. I went to enjoy my birthday and for the down season and very little guest at the resort, they did a fabulous job with what they had. I will always go back

The grounds are very big, the beach was great. Snorkeling was good, very colorful fish. The food is very bland, don't go to Cuba for the food. We ran out of eggs for a few days. The rooms were spacious. The people were very friendly.

Club beach bar wasn’t open a single day, buffets closed and the manager screamed constantly at guests. There was a couple days where the only thing that was open was the snack bar; and they only had hot dogs at nighttime. I was extremely dissatisfied in the resort and the way they ran things while we were staying there. The manager was the WORST representation of this resort and there needs a change to be made in order for me to consider going back. It doesn’t matter what time of year it is, if I pay for Club I want all the club perks and we barely got any. The only reason we had a good time was the people. Leo, Lixander and Taiyanis are the only reason we would go back. They provided the best service I’ve ever had and did so with a great attitude. I’d book another trip to Cuba tomorrow if they were on a different resort, which is unfortunate. But these people find a way to stay “AWESOME” and I’ll never forget the memories we made with them. These 3 individuals are the only reason we were able to make the most of this trip.

Beautiful grounds and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The service is great. The food is ok always found something to eat, they do their best. The employees are very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Beach is beautiful and so are the pools. Will be returning.

Visited Aston Costa Verde in late April/early May. Beach was highlight of our trip. Amazing snorkelling, crystal clear water and no waves or seaweed. We had club upgrade. Rooms were very clean with plenty of hot water and fresh towels daily. Staff service was excellent. Club restaurant and VIP lounge both amazing. Lobby bar was even better with extensive cocktail menu. Had a few drinks and all were most excellent. Unfortunately buffet and snack bar were both big let downs due to severe food shortages. Filtered water was also problematic (weird taste and smell). Minimal entertainment during our trip. Cuban musicians on a couple of evenings. However can’t really complain given very low price with club upgrade. If you are low budget traveller with minimal expectations this resort may be perfect for you.

Pros: my room was spotless, very clean, new beds. Never saw one bug and never got any bites, after spending every day at the beach. Staff were excellent, always friendly and smiling. Cons: the sound system is too loud! If you weren’t deaf when you arrived, you will be when you leave. The sound bounces off the walls of the buildings and you can’t try to sleep until 11:00, when they shut it down. Not great for young families, or older people who want to sleep around 9:00.

For a family of 4, we saved thousands by choosing this resort over resorts in other countries. We went into this vacation with realistic expectations. We could easily afford this vacation. We weren't sure what to expect, but our club room was flawless, the staff was lovely, the beach was on-par with Bahamas (maybe nicer) We didn't even exhaust the drink choices-- the bartender at the beach had a large, constantly changing variety of concoctions. We loved the hundreds of Canadian flags, the sneaky crabs, the gardeners, and the gardens. We didn't use the kids club because our kids were happy tagging along with us, and it didn't seem active. Mini disco was fun, but was repetetive, except for the foam party night, which was an epic blast! We ate pork belly and eggs every morning (it helps to tip, we may have received some special treatment) naked coleslaw, grilled fish, tough chicken, grilled cheese, hot dogs, lovely soup and plenty of fruit and fresh veg. They had lovely smoothies and excellent coffee. It was enough! You can purchase pizza off resort, but nothing is like Canada. Nothing...and that's the best part. Bottom line. Bring a bag of snacks to eat, and if you don't need them, share them! M9st packaged foods can easily be brought in your checked bag.vBring useful items, we all have things laying around that would be SO APPRECIATED by a Cuban. Happy Vacay!

The room was perfect with little touches like an umbrella in case of rain. The beach is amazing and the staff is wonderful. The workers have smiles for everyone. The snorkeling is interesting. The pools are big enough to swim in. We will return next year.

Really impressed with resort. Very clean and well maintained Staff constantly cleaning. Friendly service and helpful staff. Interesting games and shows. Wifi could be improved. Given the fact that this amazing country has very little food etc. The menu is always plentiful and fresh.

Just returned from two weeks at the Aston Costa Verde as a solo traveller. The Aston is good value for the money and I would return. However, it is not for everyone. The resort is very spread out but I enjoyed the walking necessary to get around the resort. The grounds are well kept and the walkways are in good shape but you might want to have a small flashlight for safety at night as they are not well lit. I was there for two weeks and thought the food was very good. I ate terrific omelettes every morning and lots of fish, pasta, fresh fruit & vegetables at other meals. Yes, it was somewhat repetitious but plentiful until the last two days when supplies seemed to get short. The shortages are unpredictable and may account for the wide variety of opinions expressed about the food in other reviews. I recommend the Club option. I enjoyed the newer building away from the noise of the activities and also the quiet, air conditioned Cigar Bar most evenings before dinner. I ate at the Club restaurant a few time. It has a nice relaxing atmosphere and great service. However, the menu doesn’t change and I found more selection and variety at the buffet.  The only disappointed people I met seemed to have very unreal expectations. They had purchased a Chevy and seemed to expect a Cadillac.

This hotel was absolutely disgusting. The first day upon my arrival nothing in my room worked including the safe TV phone and lights. I never had my phone working the entire week and the Wi-Fi was not working the entire week at all. In addition I came back home with bugs so if you want a vacation where you're not going to be bitten and carry bugs back home don't go to this Resort! I definitely give it zero Stars

Hotel is pretty typical for the caribbean, concrete and bright colors. Not necessarily a bad thing, or a good thing, it is just common in the area and works well. The biggest pool is very shallow so not sure what use it is, the deeper pool that actually comes up to your chest is elsewhere on the grounds but really nice on hot days. The food. ok, so we all know, nobody goes to cuba for the food. Before arriving we had read about food shortages and travellers with no access to lunch or sometimes even rum. I've been to varadero twice but never holguin, so i was prepared! brought tabasco, a spice wheel, ketchup and soy sauce. Much to my surprise it was rarely needed :o I'm not sure what magic this resort has but the food was the best in any cuban resort i've had before. Rooms are pretty typical, well laid out, the AC i think is on a timer on/off of some sort to conserve energy, it was a real pain to figure out. hot water in shower was great, pressure sucked but it did the job. cleaning staff were amazing. so friendly and grateful, wonderful to interact with. Language barriers. Holguin is not Veradero, i would classify it as more authentic cuba, and i actually really enjoyed it a lot more. That being said, i had been preparing for the trip using a Babbel+ app on my phone for 6 months, and boy am i glad i did. Very few people i met were fluent in english, even at the resort. It was a struggle most of the time to get my point or question across, but knowing the spanish i did helped 1000% being able to ask questions Who What When Where, know hours and time on a clock, count to 10, know cuanto cuesta (how much does that cost?), etc. basic stuff but it helped a lot at the resort and when we travelled to Holguin in a private taxi ($100 for the entire day for a group of 4), we found almost nobody spoke any engish at all, so even ordering a couple beers ($1 cristal) or lunch in my terrible spanish seemed to work. The times when we had internet access using google translate helped a ton. money down there, don't bring loonies and toonies, don't be 'those people'. cubans can't exchange them for money, they're worthless. tip in bills. go to the bank, get USD, bring at least $60 in $1 bills, and maybe $300 in 20's or something. that's all you'll need, everything we booked took credit card at the hotel. bringing back rum. i was disappointed that i couldn't find any of the rum i wanted to buy. everywhere i looked they only had havana club varieties. here's a tip though, bring back as many bottles as you want, just claim it at customs when you return to your country, you'll pay $20 and be on your way, it's no big deal, just don't lie or it's a huge fine, and yes, they know, they've seen the xray of your bag the beaches! amazing, of the 3 resorts in the area, this one had the best beach and water. However, that being said, my wife broke her toe in the ocean and i got pretty cut up, there is coral and stone in the shallow parts of the water that you might not see, bring WATER SHOES and be careful not to fall if there are waves. if you make it out to about waist high water you'll be pleased by all the fish swimming around you. crumble a couple ritz crackers in the water and 100 will appear out of nowhere, it's insane hahaha but fun

Here’s the good, the bad, and the ugly… The good: beach is stunning and some of the best snorkeling right off the beach I’ve seen! So many fish and was amazing! Beach is clean, beach bar was the highlight for beverages and service! Chairs are all plastic (not the ones with any blue fabric on them) so bring an inflatable to lay on for better comfort. We just grabbed some cheapies from Dollarama and they were perfect. The bad: No one goes to Cuba for food but their shortages are worse then ever. Bring lots and lots of snacks and condiments. No bread, chicken served once, the a la cart restaurants were equally terrible. But the soups were good, if you eat soup when it’s 40 out lol. Occasionally we would randomly have no water in the room to shower, flush toilet, or anything and never had warning. We stayed in the main building but some club members were days with no water and told to use the gym to shower. The wifi was free and better than I expected but still spotty in lobby and general areas. I had no issues with it in the room. The beds were comfortable, cleaning didn’t happen till after 4pm or later and that was a pain by then it’s rest and shower for dinner but the cleaners would show up. We ended up only getting a cleaning twice because of their timing but they gave us fresh towels and such when we asked. Beach towels they say you can exchange them, they only had towels one day of 7 to exchange. I have seen so many people return many many times to this resort and I’m not sure why to be honest. It was nice, staff were ok but not typical Cuban friendly in my experience. Seems like many were newer and I have experienced better service in other Cuban resorts. The pool bar was open twice only during our stay, and they ran out of many alcoholic drinks and it was only rum, beer, and some wine but not always. Glad we went, we have some locals we have got to know over the years but we won’t return to this resort. The main pool layout was nice, beach entrance and I enjoyed that. The man working the pool area worked so hard to keep it clean!

It was my fourth visit to this resort within one year.It’s a nice place and staff is friendly,good service.Special thanks to Mr.Andreas the food manager for arranging a birthday party for our two friends.

Resort has some shortcoming but I would go back there , staff are friendly in general, front desk needs some improvement, food actually got better every day passed, there were some ladies doing a great job with pasta, fried fish lunch and dinner, omelet in the mornings interval young substitute not as much but overall I was totally fine with food. Rooms need real update, some had water issues during our stay. The selection of drinks were limited. The best bar is the one next to lobby, great Spanish coffee. The guy attending the bar at the beach is rude and unprofessional.

Definitely do not recommend this resort. Rooms are terrible food is 2 out of 10 and if you are coming with kids make sure to bring lots of snacks. Understand that the economy is currently bad in Cuba but I've seen less rating resorts with better service and food than this 4+ star resort. Do some research before booking.

Staff is its best asset. The grounds were kept very clean. Beach amazing. As in all resorts in Cuba, not a lot of food choices. No fresh eggs in 2 weeks we were there. Menu in buffet varied depending on what was available. At times beef,pork or chicken. Pasta every day. Deserts were amazing. We were told by people in club not to pay the extra as there was not any difference in food or other amenities. Check in could improve. They know you are coming , so why do they have to “find”(?) you a room on their computer. This was our second 2 week trip to the resort and would definitely recommend it.

We just spent two weeks at he Aston Costa Verde Resort and had an amazing vacation. The grounds were so well kept and the staff worked continually to have all the gardens in immaculate condition we stayed in the older rooms, and even though they needed to be updated everything was kept clean and in working order. When we arrived in the early am we were assigned a room that had a strong smell of smoke. After speaking to the reception, we agreed to stay there over night and the next day we were given a choice of two different rooms We absolutely love the beach and with snorkeling just off shore its perfect for us. We only went to one A La cart and found that the food wasn't any different than the buffet We knew there were shortages in Cuba for food before we left Canada but a few changes would have made our stay more pleasant . There was at each meal pasta stations and We found that the only way to get hot food was to have it prepared at the pasta stations The warming buffets had different choices but we found that the food was always cold. there wasn't enough staff at the buffet and service was sometimes slow. Looking forward to returning another time.

The resort is very nice...3rd time there in 14 months...a bit of a hiccup with our rooms at the beginning...the front desk seems confused and different people tell you different things...once we were sorted out we had a terrific time...Grounds, pools, beach very nice...shortages, yes....but not just this resort, it is all of Cuba so be prepared and take extra stuff with you...I cant say enough about the staff, never in all my years of travelling have i met such wonderful people...so friendly and they remember the repeat customers. This resort has a lot of repeat customers for a reason...also, i found the tourists are all very nice too....it was a great trip and I will return again

The beach is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Bring water shoes as there are rocky areas. Pools are nice but were a little chilly. I recommend the Club for the extra pool area and restaurant. Rooms are clean with a comfy bed and good shower. Staff are friendly and helpful. The food is good with some food shortages as in all of Cuba now, but not as bad as expected. The filtered water throughout the resort has a very bad taste, but they do their best to provide you with bottled water. I would recommend this resort if they fixed the filtered water situation, since I couldn't drink it.

We went here in last week of feb 2024 with my family, 2 adults and 3 kids(9,7,2). We had a wonderful time, kids loved it here. Everything is very close, beach, pool, buffet. Food was on healthy side which i loved, lots of veggies, fruits, they had chicken, beef, fish. Zero complaints, its an excellent place. There were no cockroaches which was the biggest thing for me. Hotel rooms were clean and everything was working. They had air hockey, pool table and ping pong table to play. Will definitely go back.

The hotel was very nice 1st class, clean. The food was delicious and was not short. The beach was breathtaking. I cannot say enough about the staff they were incredibly helpful and so friendly. I recommend this resort

The good …… the hotel staff were very friendly , and helpful for the most part …… the food was ok , for Cuba ….. I would however stick with the club restaurant ( if red banded ) or the buffet ….. I don’t find the ala carts to be very good ….. the beach is nice …. good snorkelling on the rocky side …… my room was basic , but clean , and everything worked without incident ….. even hot water everyday ( which can be a rarity in Cuba at times ) …… drinks were good ….. very surprised to see Johnny Walker black in the bar …… I must compliment Lilian , the lady in the lobby responsible for bookings …. she is an amazing woman , thank you for your help ……. overall , I had a real nice 11 nights here

We enjoyed our stay. The variety of food was always available. Staff friendliness from waiters, to kitchen and cleaning staff along with the gardeners and delivery personnel was always evident. We found that signage was missing as far as the hours of the big buffet, no pamphlet to indicate the ground plans of the resort. It was difficult to find the schedule for nightly entertainment. Also when the A la Carte Restaurant would close due to technical reasons, we were not notified or their was no signage giving that it had to close. Our room was wonderful with an ocean view. We did encounter a few issues and staff came right away to fix it. Having a tag in the room saying: "Do not disturb" or "Please Clean" would be a great asset. Their was issues with currency as to what was accepted which is American money or credit card. Pools were beautifully kept and grounds as well. We'd recommend this resort to others but simple solutions would improve this place greatly.

Was told the main pool would be open before my date of arrival and did not open until the day I was leaving. Other pool was jam packed and no where's near enough chairs for even a quarter of the guests. One bartender more often than not. A la carts were pathetic. Service was slower than ever. No programs or activities for guests at all. No eggs for half my stay. Pop was either flat or way too syrupy. Vegetables and fruit were pretty much nonexistent. Bacon 1 day and gone in 20 minutes. Same with hamburgers at the snack bar. Wifi was hit and miss the whole time. Had to reup time every day. I paid extra when booking to make sure I was in club section only to be put in rundown old and noisy hotel section anyways. Then charger an extra $16.50 USD per night to upgrade to club section. Had the same problems last time I was there hoping it was better now but now it's even worse. Will not go to this resort again.

Stayed at this resort as it was a nice looking resort at a great deal with great reviews. Not much to complain about! Went in the first week of February and after the first few days the resort was in full swing almost at maximum capacity and they did not have any Food: Had most everything you could ask for. First few days of our stay were scarce (Feb1st-3rd) with no eggs, french fries, and limited selection at the snack bar. After the 3rd they had everything in with a large snack bar menu and tasty buffet selection (although it was repeatative) Club restaurant had good food as did the buffet with the a la cartes i found to be a bit underwhelming. Beach: Absolutely stunning beach. White soft sand and gorgeous views. Beach bar was great and they had lots of styles of boats to use. Only issue with beach is there are areas in the water that are rocky. I dont mean small rocks but actual rock formations under the sand. However once you find the sweet spot there is a large area with no rocks to step on. Resort: The resort itself was the only mixed bag for me. It is an older resort but that does not really hinder the quality it offers. It felt like a small resort that wanted to be big. The layout of the resort itself was much too spread out for the size of it. Although i did really like the main portion by the lobby as everything is close by. They also did their best to make sure the place was freshly up kept (People painting and touching up sun faded paint, gardeners working hard to keep grounds beautiful). Not enough chairs by the pools. Wi-Fi Worked very well. Service: Probably the highlight of the resort is the service quality by all of the staff. All staff were super friendly and prompt. No waiting at the bar for 5 minutes unnoticed or going too far into your meal without a refill. Not much to do in the area besides walk to the pesquero market (which had lots of the stores closed) or take a bus ride that costs 5USD (pay with usd or credit card) to the nearest town in guardalavaca which there also is not too much to do. Overall a decent hotel however not worth top dollar prices. If you can get a deal it is definitely a great spot to go.

We were a family of 10 women girls trip had a wonderful time Pool: main pool wasn't open but we had great time at club pool Food : we always found something to eat its Cuba there your shortages we new before our trip and took ketcup and mustard and peant butter and jam shortage of bread so you have to take few slices at lunch time if you want it for supper or you won't find any until lunch the next day beach: the beach was beautiful , we spent most of our time at club pool Entertainment: well that needs alot of improvement the enterneers were great but they only had dancers, and band playing most nites, you could have at least 3 nites or more with Magic shows, and maybe musical play performance such as loin king or Michael Jackson sychronized swimmers etc Disco : we always had a great time

We went to this resort the second time as we already liked it the first time. It has good internet, a nice beach with some cliff sections on the side that are great for snorkelling, really friendly staff, and good rooms. I know many complain about food, but we even had some great food. There is currently some shortage like eggs and even sometimes bred, but I think what they do with the rest was even better than last year and healthy. We ate a lot of cabbage/carrot/... salad, had wonderful scollops and some excellent fish (I love fish, and some of the fish was truly amazing). We also enjoyed some of the soups, and if you bring some of your own seasoning then you can eat well for a week. And the fresh coconut were so good. Thanks you all the staff for your smiles.

This is always a wonderful resort with great staff. The main pool was under construction, however they noise was kept to a minimum and they have two pools so that didn't pose a problem. Rooms are wonderful if you are on the plus side (club) with very comfortable beds. Food was what you expect with current geopolitical conditions. I did two weeks in November and two weeks in January and find at the end of the second week the same meals are repetitive, however you never go hungry. What might be lacking in food variety is more than made up at beach, the most beautiful beach amongst the 4 resorts that share playa costa verde. Also, what makes this hotel is the staff. Again, my overall rating takes into account that this is Cuba in it's current situation of sanctions and shortages as a result of geopolitical situations out of their control

Clean rooms, no insects visible. The buffet has enough dietary and meat dishes. The staff is polite and pleasant. The beach with white fine sand is convenient for swimming and long distance walks. The only thing missing is evening performances at the theater.

Room Services is excelent , resort stuff Worker and Menagement is on high level and very friendly and helpfull and Treat guest very Well , Food is decent , Very Quite and great resort and right place for vacation Note’ thise resort exist on one most beutifull beach in Holguin Region Playa Blanca/Playa Pesquiero

My second visit to this resort and will definitely return next year. Beach is great rooms are perfect and cannot say enough about the staff. Jamie our transport buggy driver has become a friend of ours for life, the service he gives is top notch and could not be better. He seems to truly love his job and takes pride in it The care takers of property are always friendly and polite. All the staff is friendly. See you all next year

The resort was beautiful rooms were clean. We were in the club section. The a la carte were delicious we ate at the French and Italian. The buffet was ok except the same thing day in and day out also was very little of anything no eggs. Was it worth what we paid for definitely not Will never stay there again. I would list it 3* not a 4* because of the food, everything else a 4*. Everyone there said the same thing. If air transit want any returns at this resort again I suggest they offer something in return.

This was not my first time at Aston Costa Verde. The staff are amazing! I travel with my son and sometimes with friends. My son and I have major food allergies and the staff are amazing at helping us eat what is safe. I can’t wait to go back! Rooms are always clean and if something isn’t working they are fast to fix it!

Returned to Aston Costa Verde for the second time...again, a fabulous time...mainly because of the resort staff...they remembered our group from last year and welcomed us back. Had a great repeat customer dinner. Remember, Cuba is struggling since covid and are having supply issues...Beach, pool and staff were amazing...Food was lacking in some things, but that is happening everywhere down there....we went for a relaxing time at the pool and beach and were not disappointed...will go back again

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The beach was 10/10. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Also, if you're a diver, there's a dive shop just a couple minute walk from the beach, with great dive spots in the area.

I've been to this resort throughout all its name changes. It has only gotten better. I understand the that cuba has taken a little longer to recover from covid, so I just go with the flow. Everything was fantastic from the old staff that remember me, to the new staff who did there very best.

My friends and I had a terrific time. The place was clean and comfortable. The staff were outstanding! They were always happy to help out, serve you, chat, whatever....The beach was beautiful, especially when we would go for a walk before breakfast.

It was a terrific place to stay. Everything was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was somewhat disappointing., but from what I understand the variety is just not available. It was wasn't too busy as it was just before the start of high season and it suited me and my friends just fine. I am afraid to say that we missed out on some of the evening entertainment. What I saw was, excellent!

We travel to Cuba for the ocean and the sun but this time the food was really ,really bad ,Aston is a 3 star resort only and not a 4.1/2. star. 1) not sufficient satff 2) room given WAS NOT a superior room., it was only a standard room. Room and arounds not very clean 3) luck of shows for children and adults 4)Transportation in the hotel was done with one car, most of the time out of service 5) many more issues , we over paid the vacation s b

The staff were very friendly, rooms and grounds were to my standards. The beach was incredible! There was always food, they repeated the same dishes but my husband and I ddn't mind! We will definetly go back! The 50 minute ride to the resort was not bad!

This resort is a gem! Lovely well thought out gardens. All the staff were wonderful, they went out if there way to make our vacation extra enjable. This resort was great. A bit worn but clean. We had all the necessities, clean sheets, towels both in our room and for the beach. The beach was amazing ! There were enough chairs, the service was good, we changed our towels every day,sometimes twice in the day. We did tons of snorkeling, fish to see everyday. The food was awful. Only one menu for all restaurants and buffet. If you are going for the food, this is not the place but everything else was fabulous.

This resort was very nice. The people were great. The beach was amazing. Always a chair at the beach. All staff was great and did what they could to make your stay a enjoyable one. We would definitely go back to this Resort! Thanks for the great time.

The grounds were amazing, staff were very friendly, rooms clean, a la carte restaurants open, clean beach with an employee always setting up beach chairs, lots of activities to do, for example, snorkelling, kayaking, paddle boats and catamaran

The resort is definitely not a 4.5 star more like 3. The rooms were not that great they need upgrading. We had no water for one day, the WIFI was so bad it kept going down. The food was the same every day. No fruit or not may drinks that were on their list. The worse of it all was the escorts (whatever you want to call them) with old men and there were many and many children around. It was actually disgusting Would i go back to that resort? No i am afraid not.

The first 3 days there wasn't hot water to shower until we complained many many times. We were 3 adults in a room but there were 2 pillows. Again we complained many many times and they added a pillow. Many times electricity shut down and because of that no toilet flush, no coffee, no show, no hot food, ....and surprisingly they didn't have a power generator!!! Just don't go there. Positive side is very nice beach which is everywhere in Cuba.

Resort is trying to get up and running at a reduced capacity after being closed for a couple years and mostly refurbished. The staff were all fantastic. Food was good but no pasta, beef or fish. The second day the rooms above the main building had no water, couldn't shower or flush toilets yuk! We were moved to beautiful new room. Friends stayed but had no hot water all week. There was some entertainment, mostly for the kids. We had a good time. Alacarts were good but they need to work on the rooms in the main building.

It was affordable resort for my husband and my 2yr old and I but the hotel was old. And things were not working. The water and electricity turned off a few times and the internet was not good. The food was not good. They had no fruit when we first got there and no fish at all. The restaurants were not any better

We just got home after 2 restful weeks at Aston resort in Holguin the rooms are old and in need of updating but we’re generally clean Staff went out of their was to make sure your needs are all taken care of all our needs. Any issues we had for repairs in the room they immediately were there to help food choices were limited but they always created meals with what they had to serve

Hotel was older and in need of updates. Staff was its best asset. They are starting to upgrade parts of resort. Limited variety of foods and drinks but understand how hard it is to get items there. Did the best with what they had. When we had concerns they were addressed in a timely matter which doesn’t happen a lot in the other resorts we have visited. When they advertise that there will be beer in your fridge daily they should follow up on it. This did not happen and when I spoke to the front desk they explained that they had trouble getting it. I accepted this explanation but then they had a Super Bowl party and had a deep bin full of beer? Over all it was a great experience mainly because of 5he staff.

We stayed from Jan 29th to Feb 5th, in a superior room in block 3. We had a fantastic time here! The room was OK, a little dated by some people's standards. But the beds were super comfy, the AC was ice cold, the water was hot and possibly the highest pressure on earth lol. The room was cleaned, and the mini fridge restocked daily. The safe worked and I was able to stream my phone through the large TV on the hotels free wifi. So for us, no complaints about the room. The food was fine, remember you're in Cuba.. bacon, eggs, and toast were available everymorning. The other two meals provided plenty of options, I had no problem assembling something decent with what they had. The ice cream is 5 star. The bars were great. Some days they didn't have ingredients for certain drinks, but that wasn't their fault. They pour name brand liquors, several havana club rums, Jameson whiskey etc, and endless supplies of beer. The beach was fantastic, I won't bother elaborating because it's been said a million times. Same goes for the staff. They never stop! Very attentive and friendly. We wouldn't hesitate to go back, in fact, I'm going to play closer attention to prices and try to snag a deal on a 14 day trip next year!

stay Jan 28 to Feb 8 th, fine hotel in general but not as good as expected, rooms need upgrades, air conditioning working but never as cold as it should be even after getting it checked, leaky sink but fixed the next day, none working security box ( also fixed) , room curtains hanging down but mostly ripped from the rod, just food is typical Cuba and repetitive , a la carte restaurants have no better food than the buffet ( one of them was still closed when we were there), pools are nice and clean, nightly entertainment was ok and typical of Cuba shows, staff was fantastic polite and friendly, beach was excellent. supplies for alcohol was pretty well limited to beer and rum, servers were fast and efficient. To resume quickly, it was OK but i will not return, too many places in the same area have better to offer but this is just my opinion, other guests there were very happy so it is a matter of taste, to us , Aston failed to deliver

Great rooms, Good housekeeping, Excellent Reception desk staff. Food needs more variety and better quality. Very nice restaurant staff. Very loud music, needs to be contained within local area. Good service at the bar. Good variety. Nightly entertainment needs more variety.

The hotel was was very clean, the house keeping was amazing, staff was awesome. We liked every aspect of the resort. The food was good hat they could offer to the best of what was available. I would like to mention here that my wife is a vegetarian and they always made sure to serve her something veg. Best people I would say.

We had a wonderful week in this resort. Very friendly staff, great beach and snorkeling, and well working internet everywhere, including the beach. Great and clean rooms with balcony. Even the food was good if you don't just pile everything on your plate. We took spices with us, but they even had peper and salt, and some mustard etc. Only unhappy with tripcentral. First they advertised a different price until I got to the payment page, and then we had a flight delay on the way back with no help. Passengers booking directly with Westjet Vacation got hotels and food vouchers right away whereas we had to stand for hour in line without getting any while Westjet and Tripcentral both said it's the others responsibility.

This hotel is just reopening after covid so it is hard to review since they were doing a soft opening and only certain sections were operating..What they have done so far is great, the beach is very nice although there are a few rocks you need to stay clear of...drinks could use some improving and the grounds are very nice...What made my vacation fabulous was the wonderful staff and animation team...as there were not many guests, we got to know everyone there. Jerry and Michel at the pool bar kept us laughing all day, Yudaine made the best omelets, Guillermo and Maikel who sold cigars were friendly and always went out of their way to speak with us and Caesar and his animation team were wonderful...lots of activities to entertain us...dont bother booking poolview room as is doesnt exist right now, they opened up the back blocks first, we had to move as we were far away from everything when we requested poolview...and you have to keep on them to fill your fridge, they would leave water only...it was a great time and i cant wait to go back next year and see what it is like when it is fully opened

I enjoyed everything about the resort. They did lose my suitcase for four days. The beach was beautiful and the food was pretty good. The best thing were the staff. Such wonderful people. Shout out to Udaine, Jerry and Cesar!

I was impressed by the service. All staff were friendly , helpful and hard working. The grounds were well kept. My room was well maintained and clean. The beach was beautiful and clean. The restaurants and food was wonderful. My only disappointment was the lack of tomato juice for the bloody Mary's. I would certainly return.

I have gone to this resort a few times but this years trip was more of a dull trip. There were many excursions available and the beach is still amazing for snorkeling. The beds in the new part are very comfortable. This year the hotel has gone under new management and there were plenty of problems throughout the day. There was no water each day from around 9am until 5 or 6pm. The buffet did not offer many options and it did not change at all any day. The newer pool is already missing lots of tiles. There is quite a walk from the new part of the resort to the main part where all the food and pools are. This is a resort to go to if you are not looking to eat much and just want to snorkel. The staff is very friendly and make your stay as fun as it can be.

We booked our trip with the help of Karol from trip central. He was amazing help btw Rooms. Great for cuba. Clean but very outdated Beaches: beautiful blue and clear but bring water shoes has rocks and bring snorkeling gear amazing for snorkeling. Go see Roger for an amazing ride in sailboat. Won't regret it. Also lifeguard Axal, sweet sweet man that thought my kids to make flowers lut of palm leaves. Buffet repetive but we still manage to eat well. Met head waiter Samuel and he was amazing. Katia our waitress would reserve our table every morning. Sweet woman with a great heart. Loved her. Shows great for cuba. Only disappointed was the pool activities not to enthusiastic. Staff was phenomenal. Would go back

I entered my room to find pop all over the floor, however it was promptly taken care of. Very noisy in block 3. Listened to a "father" berate his 17 yr old son at 1:00am. There is no real place to just sit and relax without having to listen to loud music. Public washrooms rarely had toilet paper. Fruits and vegetables selection was very poor. Service at the snack bar was slim to none.
