We recently stayed at this resort from (March 20 - March 27) 2026 we booked 4 rooms for 7 Adults and overall had a very enjoyable experience. The property itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and offers a relaxing atmosphere that made our vacation truly memorable. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the housekeeping staff did a great job every day. The food was also very good, with a nice variety of options to suit different tastes, and the service from most of the staff was friendly and welcoming. The beach and pool areas were definitely highlights of our stay — clean, spacious, and perfect for relaxing. We especially appreciated how peaceful and enjoyable the environment was throughout the day. However, there were a few areas that could be improved. The entertainment was quite disappointing and did not meet our expectations. There were limited activities and shows, and the overall energy in the evenings felt lacking. The biggest issue we experienced was the airport transfer. It was very disorganized and stressful. There was no clear direction, long wait times, and no Sunwing representative available to assist us, which made the arrival experience frustrating — especially after a long flight. Despite these concerns, we still had a great time thanks to the resort itself and the hardworking staff on-site. With some improvements to the entertainment and better organization for airport transfers, this resort could offer an even better overall experience.

The Flamingo Cancun sits in an amazing area. Beachfront, this resort has so much potential. The beach and ocean are beautiful. The resort itself is unbelievably clean, the staff work so hard there to keep it beautiful. The problem with this resort is the food in the buffet., it's hit and miss. There is some dishes that are very good, but for the most part it really needs improvement

A nice enough place but there were too few seats at the bars and the hours of operation weren’t great, closing at 2300 hrs and only opening between 1000 hrs and 1600 hrs. The food in the buffet catered to the Caribbean pallet and wasn’t a preferred menu for Canadian tastes. The staff were very friendly and polite. The room was clean and comfortable but the bar fridge was poorly stocked.

We were given the wrong room when we got there. Had to fight with the front desk to get the right room. Front desk staff were very rude. Once we got the right room we enjoyed ourselves and the room was very clean and comfortable. Buffet meals were very good. The staff at the pizza bar, Alberto, Ricardo and Samuel were fantastic! The security guard Jaime Melgoza was exceptionally friendly and kind. The hotel is not friendly for those with impaired walking as there are too many stairs. The restaurant had the air conditioning on full blast at all times and we were seated underneath the vents multiple times and ended up getting sick. There was very limited entertainment or notification of it at the hotel.

The hotel is older, staff are NOT friendly, seen one staff eat a spoonful of yogurt and put the spoon back in the bowl, this was at the buffet where guests eat…food wasn’t good it’s like it’s recycled from previous nights. No entertainment, main lobby bar closes down at 11:00 pm. No beach chairs, have to use your towel to lay in the beach…I would never go back here or recommend to anyone. Way too much money I would rate this hotel as a 1. Very disappointing.

Really enjoyed the stay. Armondo and Erving were fantastic, we were never thirsty. Food was less than desireable and very limited selection at the buffet. Never saw breakfast meat in 7 mornings accept cut up hot dogs.. Not into pork stew for breakfast. Accommodations were very good.

This is a small resort with half mexican tourists and the other half international tourists. Small pools and very small selection at the buffet. The Albatros a-la-carte restaurant is just as small, but some of the items on the menu are fantastic : filler mignon, salmon fillets, the crepes with chocolate ... The room we've had was of a 2 stars hotel ... it looked old and poorly maintained, no fridge, ni bottled water daily, beat up beds and pillows, extremely noisy (facing to the busy street and also close to the elevator), with small cockroaches in the bathroom and closet. There were also extensive renovations being done to the beach side of the hotel ... with all the dust, debris and sweaty workers walking around carrying bags of cement and metal bars ... The only thing that actually was great was that the small beach they have was clean, had enough sun-umbrellas and lounge chairs for everyone - the beach and the ocean and the sun .. that is what made our vacation a time to remember.

We stayed at Flamingo Cancun March 4 to 11, 2017. The resort stated 3.5 stars but I would upgrade it to at least a 4.5 stars. The hotel staff were very friendly. Loved loved Ingrid in the Albatros Bar, above and beyond !! The food was great, our room was very clean and the king size bed was comfortable and even had comfy king size pillows. Bathroom was clean and the tub was huge. We were right across from the Flamingo Mall and Bubba Gump Shrimp house. Pizza bar was great in Don Roberto's bar, but only open until 6pm. Easy to take the bus up and down the hotel zone strip. The only thing I would suggest is more seating in the pool area, patio tables and chairs would've been nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

If you are looking for a quiet stay and a more north American experience....it is a place to stay. Definitely no cultural music just some English music until 12 in the lobby. Limited restaurant. Bar closes 6pm. Great for older couple n couples with little kids looking for a quiet spot. I hated the fact that there is always a line up bfast lunch and dinner. I miss local music that gives you the Latina feel n food plus drinks are closed off way too early

Pros-clean room and most staff were great mall across the street, free wifi at the ourback across the street. Cons-The worst thing the happened was one of the couples was celebrating their 50th and were going to be renewal of vows ceremony so paid to have a cabana for the day($25), spent $300 on decorations and and spent 2 hours decorating, when we showed for the ceremony the decorations were gone. Nothing. Nobody knew anything. After a lot of screaming and hollering the staff brought it all back. go figure. Dropped off on road, had to take own luggage up a hill to hotel -Booked 10 months in advance, 10 people but couldn't be together, was told management had made sure we were all over the resort -They advertise free WiFi in lobby, the do not have it, $7 a day, may or may not work -No fridge in room $45 for 5 days, we bought a cooler and used their ice -No clocks in room, we bought watches and clocks -No bottled water -Air conditioner worked so terribly it was cooler on the deck at night. -When showering suds came up through the drain by the toilet -Buffet only had 12 items and they couldn't keep up, usually 2 item missing, desserts were terrible. At breakfast they only had a 2 slice toaster for the whole place. They could one fill the dining room to 1/2 full because they were running out of food. -washing and buffing the walkway around the pool and dining room at meal time, blocking the way to the dining room off when everyone was trying to go. - A la Carte was good for supper but don't go for breakfast, 3 items no toast. Lunch 2 hours -Advertised beach bar, there was one there but they wouldn't serve you unless you were ordering food at the a la carte, so if at beach you had to use the pool bar which only would serve 2 drinks per person, No travel mugs. -The Lobby bar opened at 4 but it was way to hot in there no a/c -Advertised entertainment staff, it the lady walking around with a ball in her hand was the entertainment staff I guess we had it. -Advertised Kids Club, they have everything, a playroom, kids pool, kids loungers and toys but it was also canned like everything else. -6 beds at pool and 4 loungers on island, people had stuff laying everywhere even trying to take beds that were being used already. -Played elevator music all day at the pool, lets not get happy -2 drinks limit, so order 2 drinks fill you travel mug and order 2 more. -could swim in the ocean for the 2 weeks we were their it was to rough and 1 person had to be rescued so we would take the bus to turtle beach for the day.

The staff was friendly and tried their very best to be accommodating, but the policies and overall management of this resort were deplorable!! Two bars - only one bar was open at a time. Drinks limited to two per person per order, so if you're with a party of people, you can't pick up drinks for your friends. The buffet was small, the variety and flavour even smaller. There's ONE two-slice toaster provided for breakfast. They served the same dishes (changed up one or two things) every morning for two weeks. You have to stand in line at the bar to get a glass of water. Its not made available anywhere else on the resort. There's one a la carte restaurant, good food and great service, but a nightmare trying to make a successful reservation. No free wifi on site, as advertised. Rooms were clean, beach was beautiful. This place has the potential to be great, but due to poor management, the staff morale is obviously very low, which led to one mistake after another, especially with interdepartmental communication. A simple thing like getting two bottles of water delivered to our room took 4 days and 5 phone calls!!
